oh oh oh mister sunday… he’s sososo pretty i could ramble for hours ໒꒰ྀིっ˕ -｡꒱ྀི১ n’ his personality !!! my fave way to describe sunday’s personality is to compare him to sheet music. perhaps this comes from the pianist in me and he himself as a violinist has found this comparison a little endearing according to his words but i think at first glance, sunday may seem very difficult to read to people.

everyone sees him as the head of the family, a big impending political figure with little words to say but plenty of thoughts to give. he’s not an open book by any means to anyone; sometimes even robin and i don’t know what’s going on in his mind but just like sheet music, i think he’s easy to read if you know how to. at the end of the day, all the treble clefs, the sharps, the flats, the notes, the rests… they play out into the fascinating piece that is my husband, don’t they? eeek it’s so embarrassing to utter this to anyone but sunday !! I know people say the humans of the RDA seem too cartoonishly evil (Quaritch's "shoot that animal over there" line gives this some merit, for example 💀), but if you know like 4 things the American government and CIA has done and kept secret from the public (then fully admitted to later), and how ruthless and exploitive capitalist oligarchs can be against the environment and people, the RDA's evils arent really that far off from reality.

Billionaires and corperations hoard wealth from the masses and are proven to exploit class power dynamics to create monopolies, exploit the poor, kill and suppress worker resistance, and fund massive psy-ops in support of their companies. Capitalism and neo-liberalism erode the morals of those who hoard and perpetually seek out capital because it takes a lack of morality to protect the needs of capital, which is why a dollar is worth more than clean water, air, and even human beings.

Companies fund hits on activists and use police power to violently suppress protests and protect assets to increase profits. CEOs of massive companies and their shareholders openly admit to knowing the environmental destruction of things like plastic and oil, yet open, saturate, and dominate markets to churn out products made from such things (including combustion engine cars and everything plastic) and expand slavery dependent business models to cut costs on production and maximize profits. Monolpolies shape whole economies and structure them to perpetuate production of destuctive, non-renewable products globally.

These neoliberal and capitalist operations of the real world are represented by the RDA's monopoly on unobitanium, a resource Earth relies upon entirely for energy because of market monopolies against alternatives. Its also shown by Earth itself becoming uninhabitable and polluted by consumerism, war, and resource disallocation, and the RDA's exploitaton of benevolent sciences, like xenoanthropology and xenobiology, to open markets for lucrative resources and help preserve the human resources against the Na'vi in diplomatic relations (Grace Augustines school, RDA biologists and lìnguists, etc). Cameron included The Cove inspired scenes of whale hunting and black market trade in AWOW as a specific example of the venture capitalist cruelty and morbidity of whaling, dolphin hunting, and other ocean industries known to cause ecological decay and destruction, which went along his theme of climate change and protecting the oceans.

As for governments, I saw one comment in the Avatar Discord asking how masses of people can be mislead about the violence and failures of such a massively expensive, resource expending project like Pandoran colonization since the visual dictionary revealed that the RDA has been endorsed/funded by several national governments, and all I could think was the blood soaked foerign policy of the U$ federal government and its CIA adjacent NGOs for the past 100 years in the global south, and the CIA's/FBI's ubiquitous and violently successful counter-revolutionary campaigns, psy-ops, and class war operations on domestic soil (like COINTELPRO, "war on drugs", & white supremacist, anti-communist propaganda).

I think its a shame Cameron's "humans vs Na'vi" oversimplified writing overshadows the very accurate portrayal of how reprehensible and morally depraved capitalists/neoliberal governments, companies, and militaries are. Its understandable that a human audience would sympathize with human colonizers trying to seek out ways to keep human life on Earth on life support. And its also understandable for humans to put their species first, since I dont think its necessarily anthropocentric to do so. But Cameron is very explicit in the films about who and what is the enemy and I dont think he means to portray non-humans as "good" and humans as "bad" and indefinitely corrupted.

Although his knowledge and commentary on colonialism, capitalism and imperialosm are very rudimentary (what can you really expect from a rich old white amerikan man lmao), Avatar opens up important conversations about such themes and challenges the audience to ultimately source the root problems on exploitive and destructive systems and ideologies, while supporting actions that would hold those who perpetuate such systems accountabile for their roles in violence and greed. The story isnt about misanthropy but about human accountability, alternatives, and rehabilitation.

Avatar isnt the only story or franchise to expose and criticize the ideologies that led the humans to unsustainable economies, mass destruction, and suppression of alternatives on Earth, and intergalactic search to keep the broken same system going. There are fare earlier and better fictional and non-fictional works exploring these pressing issues told by colonized and Indigenous people that Avatar fans should definitely seek out. Avatar is a palatable yet accessible fictional introduction on conversations many are in the dark about concerning the evils of capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism and the "cartoonishly evil" agents that perpetuate and protect it irl.

So my conclusion as a an observer (ofcrs not good as u) I am srsly sure about that tatto related with do nd ofcrs there is a clear reason behind him giving the whale painting for his bday..(ofcrs I dont knw the reason tho) ...nd dont knw how he will survive without his team on military...I am gonna miss him so much...

I actually do think Taeyong is that dependant on Do and did have a more than a minute long thought of wanting him forever, lol. He said it directly to Do afterall. And he doesn't care about Jaehyun's wrath.

It's right to be careful with "wishful thinking", no need to describe how fans in general like to overthink and imagine absolutely unrealistic rainbow scenarios. However, in the end it comes to the individual under scrutinity. Taeyong wrote a whole song about his dog and talked about her as his only friend in high school in Lost boys. I love animals, I dedicated my life to them as a zoologist and animal artist, and even for me it is hard to imagine such dedication for a small old pet. Tae is very grateful to his sister, he said his home where his mom is, he loves his nephew, he talks about Baekhyun's support non-stop, he can't let go of his favourite dongsaeng Jaehyun, he supports his friends like Johnny or Yuta (when JohnDo had a fall out, Tae tried to pay Johnny attention a lot before cameras, smooth out the situation), he sacrificed a lot for his group, endured bullying accusations not wanting to drag into it the person involved - he is emotional and clings to the people he formed bonds with.

We're gonna Found Family this and Tia and Champ are not taking no as an answer. Both Aaliyah and Sage get lured in by the two and then the next thing they know, they're got a whole extended family ready to square up for them.

And they have no idea how that happened.

The absolute shenanigans that are going on to 'test their worthiness' by the Trio become legendary. Tia's ability to handle them moreso. Twi, Wars and First are just more smitten because Tia's just casually handling the most feral people they've ever met plus managing anyone else who thinks they have a say like it's a walk in the park.

(Revali is honestly just there for the chaos. It's his revenge. Riju is his co-conspirator for when he needs one.)

As for rubbing their noses in it, I've read through some of the ficlets with Ceres in it and something came to me. Like imagine Aaliyah and the Triplets decide to have some fun in... say Tia's study. (Champ has the intelligence to not tempt fate and sticks to the Zora Domain) Tia walks in on them and just like sprays them with an opal-infused weapon like they're horny cats and she has a spray bottle. The only one who's allowed to have sex in her office is her and since she cant have sex until at least a confirmed wedding date, no one else is having sex in her vicinity. None of you know her pain so S U F F E R.

(Like Tia doesn't particularly care about the whole 'wait til marriage' thing but she does understand that murkying the waters with an out-of-wedlock baby so early into her plans of dismantling the monarchy would just make things difficult. So she has to wait even if she doesn't like it. Also her suitors are respectable and honourable men who were raised with the idea of tradition. Tia's more modern sensibilities is desperate to see how far she can push them until someone snaps. It'll probably be her. (Although I can see Twilight snapping first. First and Wars are holding on by the skin of their teeth.))

And for one final giggle. The group has a sign that says "IT HAS BEEN X NUMBER OF DAYS SINCE SOMEONE BIT A PERSON/ MONSTER " The record was two weeks before Tia broke it in her fox form. She got given so much shit for it because she was the one who made the sign.

ANFFNB Tia and champ just gently luring them in with snacks only for everyone else to pounce on them the second they're close enough. Sage never had a father figure? Bc his behavior is fatherless and I will not accept anything otherwise. Now he has TWO With Teba and Daruk. Aaliyah has no clue what being a mother entails? OH LOOK- Now Urbosa is helping her and Riju and Tulin are perfect little siblings to practice on. They have siblings and parents and fnofnf They just love their feral little assholes, both of whom are still tryna figure out wtf just happened.

Labor is an absolute SHIT SHOW. calling it now. Bc let's face it, Aaliyah is incapable of staying still, even when he's nine months fucking pregnant and feels like a whale. She's still hiding in caves (That have long since been cleaned out) or playing with the ranch dogs that come down to visit. So she's probably doing laundry or something when it starts. And if anyone knows anything about labor it's that its never like the movies. It starts of slow then picks up into active labor. But she has such a high pain tolerance that she probably just thinks its gas or something. ffonf Then her water breaks and it's an 'Oh shit-" Moment. Like Dead Silence. Sage is watching her for a second, she's watching him. Then just a panic. He's calling Tia and Champ and barking at them to get their ASSES OVER THERE And Aaliyah is freaking out bc THIS WAS NOT THE PLAN?

It's a mess.

(no bc now I'm thinking about this FNOFBF Sage up by her head, holding her hand and helping her through every contraction while Tia is down by her legs with Purah and when ones out Aaliyah is still groaning and crying and there's the second "Oh shit-" moment and Tia is just-

That kid is never gonna know the same loneliness their parents knew (Rn my current hc for them is a little boy named Sawyer and a little girl named Elliot. I haven't decided if they're twins or not nofnf). They will always have someone there for them no matter what.

I think moreso Daruk bc he knew her as this timid little girl (I;m guessing he also got their Daruk's memories...even if he's yk...dead) that followed everything the Sheikah told her to do. Yunobo has seen this girl firsthand bite a Moblins horn off and then use it to stab them to death. Daruk, and the rest of the champs for that matter, probably have a harder time seperating Aaliyah and Sage from who they were.

BUT ONCE THAT HAPPENS-

Oh hugs FOR SURE. Bc the gorons have their tough skin so even with the feral assholes biting them they don't feel it. IMAGINE THEM JUST -"They're love bites! :D" And Aaliyah is deadass tryna tear off flesh.

It’s that time again to review the latest chapter of hunter x hunter

I was so confused at this point and right at the beginning of the chapter too :sob:

So let’s do a little review.

In chapter 393, they were looking for the room because if there was a wall there, it would have revealed them to have a hideout, them being the Heil-Ly, and they were looking for a Corporal... 

The corporal they had, though, knew this, and was the one to show them this because Hinrigh and ... err... Cha-R underboss (I still forgot his name) ... had both paid him to.

Then they found this old guy, who is obviously suspicious and I am guessing had an ability to take over people’s bodies but not be there themselves. 

He definitely has something to do with the Heil-Ly family, but I’m not sure if his ability is given from Morena, because he said he had a history of this kind of thing... Not sure if he was just saying something to be strange, though.

I’m still confused about the corporal they’re looking for.. I skimmed through the last chapters but couldn’t find anything that made sense to me.

Oh well, 

It seems that the whole room was a trap, and only people come through to the Heil-Ly, not objects.

Rest in peace this guy. He lived for like 3 seconds.

The Heil-Ly are just spawning random teleportation points for their members to get levels quickly by immediately killing whoever steps through. Quite a dark way to put it, but they’re basically XP farming

Also, how do they know they’ve reached another level??? Does it just tell them in their mind? Do they feel a weird level up sensation? 

What are these side-notes :sob: “Ty, Mad Jelly, OHHH NOOO” 

It might just be the translation, though... Some are weird like that (I won’t ever forget “What’s that? What the hell going on here?!”)

This guy, Otoshin, is really smart but also very dumb.

Is this the corporal that they were looking for? Hm. It’s my best guess, but I’m not sure which side he’s on though, and why he would be in the hide-out... or was a corporal missing and they were looking for them? I am lost on this.. but I’m going for that it’s this corporal (Corporal Gipper, apparently).

Also she is very pretty I’m getting up and leaving again.

Time for another load of info,

Mmm... So they found a body of a Cha-R member in the Heil-Ly when clearing it through. The room was already looked through, so that means they purposefully looked over the body. They being the police and army. 

This guy then brings up the HA (Hunter Association) and explains that they wouldn’t let something like this slide. He says that it could lead to HA distrusting Kakin and their forces, and there being even more disputes.

The lady (I love her hair) brings up the HA’s specific jobs (Guarding princes (oh hello Giuliano, hi there.), and supporting tier 3), and doubts that they would get involved in the mafia. 

This guy counters that with talking about more about the hunter association, in particular the bodyguards. 

If the bodyguards find out that the mafia has blood ties with their princes, they will view them as competitors, and want to protect their princes against the illegitimates.

Nobody else would have a problem with that, since basically everybody else may or may not be after the mafia, there could be a war brought between the Mafia and the Kakin Empire.

The Heil-Ly wants to bring about this unbalance, so they’d be getting what they want by this happening.

Phew. I think that explains this whole page.

They all seem to have a relationship with the Prince, or rather, had. Tserriednich lore moment! Given that Otoshin apparently didn’t get shot at when he called him out, I would say that he was probably the closest to him.

Oh my. That would make it even worse then if Morena used Contagion on him.

discolouration from lack of blood!! vampires have fairly bad circulation as is. so extremities get a little corpsey after a while without any juice- it goes away with prolonged blood drinking though.

i think they would consider it but i also think agnes is a hater and wouldnt be happy about another cat- i think a little betta tank would b an option for sure- but scarlet would probably like to have a lot of pets in general :^)

MUSIC AND NATURE

Music is present in virtually all human cultures.  We use it to share our feelings, our stories, points of view, sometimes just to sound nice, and many more reasons that I can’t hope to exhaustively list here. When we hear music it is hard to avoid experiencing emotions and feelings in response to the song, and even forming clearer thoughts and opinions in response to a song is not uncommon (Mallarach et al., 2012). However, it is important to ask if music is something exclusive to human communities, or if it exists elsewhere in nature.

While the sound of wind rustling through the branches of a tall tree, or the gentle bubbling noises from a creek may sound like music to some of our ears, these sounds may lack the types of purposeful repetitions and the intention behind it that some would argue is necessary for a sound to be musical. I’m sure we are all somewhat familiar with the enchanting sound of whale songs. But whales possess an intelligence that certainly rivals that of humans and may surpass it in some ways. Both whales and humans possess a lobe in our brains called the “insular cortex” which is responsible for a number of functions that range from pain detection, speech production, and processing social emotions (Nieuwenhuys, 2012). However, some species of whales, such as orcas, have larger insular cortexes than humans do, which suggests their capacity to feel emotions may be even more complex than ours (Zeppetelli-Bédard, 2021). This forces me to ask if the songs that whales sing may convey emotions that are so intense that a human bran could not comprehend the depth of meaning behind it. I’ve included a video of humpback whales singing so you can ponder this idea with me.

In human music, examples of nature can be found all throughout. I would like to recognise the fact that the human voice is a product of nature and evolution, and the sound of a human voice is as natural as birds chirping and even whales whistling in the ocean. Furthermore, while there are many examples of songs that emphasize appreciating and protecting the natural systems on earth, I would argue that songs about nature can encompass a broader set of songs. Music that reflects human emotions of love, loneliness, anger, and confusion are also examples of nature in music, since emotions are a natural phenomenon that occur in countless animal species. Going beyond the messages in our songs, even the rhythmns and notes that we are accustomed to like can be considered an element of nature, since other groups of animals like whales and birds will use similar tones and timing in their music (Gray, 2001).

Lastly, I would like to include a song that I find very meaningful, and maybe some of you will as well. It is called “Free in the Harbour” by Stan Rogers, and it makes strong references to the cycles of natural exploitation that humans fall into, and how nature is resilient when we learn to live in harmony with it. He draws parallels between overfishing in the Maritimes and oil drilling in Alberta, and how the whales must appreciate the decline of whaling in favor of drilling. I'd encourage you to give it a listen for yourself.

hhhhh god the first person pov was. at first. i rly dont like first person pov but the best way to use first person pov is an unreliable narrator trope and it works so well here. chi nan is rly truly dense/maybe in denial? low self-esteem? but he rly doesn't know when ppl like him and even all of salinger's gentleness just goes over his head like ur so nice to ur fanboy salinger-oppa but that's also part of why salinger has grown to love him so much. like some parts were? p obvious to the readers prob? like when salinger wrote wish it is love and had a second helmet made but chi nan is just like, wow that's nice ge! and i am there like, salinger is prob falling in love w u, u silly boy

soul vibration really is the perfect title for them, what salinger and chi nan have rly could be described as simply as "soul vibration". the series of fate-like coincidences, the way their tacit understanding just forms so naturally, as if they were two halves of a whole just waiting for the other to come to them... tbh with the way salinger treated his past lovers and music and how his confession would be "would you start a band with me?", he somewhat reminds me of the 52hz whale, living in this world with no one else quite on the same frequency as he is. but then comes chi nan, who loves him, who loves his music, loves rock, and the text doesn't say it, but i really do wonder if this is salinger's "first love", in a way

i also like the romantic, whimsical, poetic, yet melancholic vibe that permeates the whole story, told in chi nan's rose-colored filter of his idol salinger, the admiration that has turned to love somewhere but is untold, maybe because chi nan doesn't quite know when it became love or doesn't admit it due to a mental block, his concern over his hearing loss and how he lives every day like it's going to be his last to be embraced by music

it's full of vibes is like a crap way to describe this wn but it rly do be full of vibes. mb bc it's in the pov of a songwriter but the prose is filled w metaphors of an ordinary sort of beauty that could be turned into art bc that's how inspiration is, how something so trivial could become a muse... it's the sort of story that evokes something like an image as simple as the first ray of sunlight of a dawn breaking through the night, in between tall skyscrapers of an indifferent concrete forest, but also the silent roar of a blackhole spinning endlessly in the depths of the universe as a new star is born in a different corner... im just rambling at this point lmao

confinement 2, week 3

confinement is upon us! and seems to be going by in a flash, which is the common trend lately, it seems, life just speeding on by like a blur and the kiddos are just sprouting like seedlings before long they’re gonna be full blown trees and im geriatric. 

second time around is def better, if i might dare say. youre just way more prepared (both mentally and physically, more mentally) for the worst that can happen, not so noob all around, even my moms not breathing down our necks cos hollys experiencing terrible2s and is a huge but stinkingly undeniably cute handful. the chaos is nicee? wouldnt have it any other way. pretty sure we r CLOSING SHOP after this aka NO MORE! what a relief to know that i can work on my body, move onto a nice non-preggo phase of life, just breastfeeding left to do......which i wonder when/how long it will go on for. but what ive also learnt (ala with the whole CC/st james thing) is that some bridges shld just be crossed not too early, but at the right time else its just unnecessary stress and who needs more of that at this stage in life? in the end i managed to clear that 3-make-ups in 1 day right before i popped tara! and in the end the birthing experience was truly a dream...save the epidural side effects, but otherwise im shouting to the world that natural birth is awesome and manisha is 10/10 stars.

small wins like friday’s eventful day where they came back with a new pram, my dream pram..and we’re planning the full month celebration now, i only have 2 more days to chill cos technically lq and i need to work on lidl this friday, and its been chill we’ve alr been taking visitors and my jailbreak ends sooner than u think! then its back to work life, but honestly everything is going to be ok. got to learn to work thru the anxiety/shut it out when needed/sometimes its overwhelming but got to silence the voices. im very happy where life is/where we are/ even though byebye sleep (for now?) and theres the whole impending doom of yaya leaving us for good..and theres always some kinda shit to deal with in life because thats life. like JAUNDICE, but then i begged the doc to let us go at 85 reading, and she did. and i no longer care as much or at all abt what people think ever since k caught me with ZERO make up at the park twice in a day. but ive been trying to restart my IF regiment because i hated what i saw in the mirorr/i was a full on beluga whale post-partum (still am). but its a work in progress. did a lot of uniqlo hauls because i figured since im saving more than 1300$ by not engaging PNMSG. 

next thing to check off is some decadent sashimi (it doesnt even need to be the fanciest location), and i’d like a nice shoot for the 100 days + hollys bday (hope it goes well!) because we havent gotten a nice fam photo of the four of us aka hope holly cooperates! next time i check in here it might already be christmas?? life is so insane! grateful that thru it all God is so faithful and we have so much support and love, omg TOTAH is the best confinement nanny of all time seriously, she does SOO much i cant even. just so happy that at the end of the day theres family and thats all you need really, fam.
