If white supremacy were a biological contagion, instead of a psychospiritual phenomenon and socially oppressive construct, it would be as prevalent in the human population as herpes. But if you are without lesions or cold sores, and engage in socially acceptable and white liberalistic political correctness, the infection would be obscure. I suppose we treat both ailments with shame and denial, when more awareness and transparency could facilitate sex-positivity and racial healing. In which case, as a society we’d actively envision a more tangible world rooted in equity and averse to stigma.

I'd like to send love to all those for whom, like me, Kissinger's death isn't about the dead but about the broken survivors. A reminder of the aftermath of domestic violence, mental illness, parental neglect and cultural dislocations.

Not mere ripples in time but fractures and wounds that bleed down.

To the people with lifelong grief of surviving broken parents and grandparents, the ones with survivors guilt, the ones who've had to build their cultural identity from scratch. You are part of that legacy too, not abstract numbers from the past but survivors of real far-reaching damage.

this is going to be an annoying rant so feel free to ignore it but so actually are there no good universities in all of the united states that don't leave you in lifelong debt?????? like hello???????? everywhere i look at that seems interesting and doesn't have reviews talking about how no one cares about you and you're on your own the entire time you're there or the staff/students are -ist/-phobic or no one does work and just goes to parties or other such things they're talking about the expenses. i want a degree because i need one if i want to do anything but i don't know if i want it enough to be in debt for my whole life. and why is the us like this. i just want to go somewhere else this country does not seem worth it to me. i want to go back in time and find a way to sink every european colonizer ship that landed on the land of the americas

#genuinely the more i look at college prices the more reasonable it feels to just go overseas somewhere instead... japan #if i'm gonna be paying at LEAST 15000 a semester wherever i go why don't i go do that in japan where i'm actually passionate about the #language and have reasons to use it and a potential to do something with it and can get places without a car and. etc #and the 15000 semester is a 15000 YEAR #only reasons the idea of being in america has ever appealed in the slightest to me is that it's a little easier to be openly queer #in certain places. not all of them!#and it's probably one of the most racially diverse places #whenever i look online people say that degrees in japan aren't worth anything but i feel that might just be them being racist #surely there are numerous people who went and got degrees in japan and are living happily. and idk bc they aren't on reddit #or posting on blogs or anything #god i feel UGHHHHH i hate everything #i know that as a Country with History japan is not particularly better than the us i know #but it's just the small things like being able to get places w/o cars and not have to pay an arm and a leg to heal like a small cut i got #that needs to be stitched. or not paying my whole body to pay off the debt of going to college because getting an education is #just not what they. want from you. they want your soul and your entire life in their hands #why am i living in this world #1 am thoughts i know but god

Capitalism and colonialism took community away from us and I want it back. I’ve heard about it from my grandparents and in books and articles online. All throughout history and still today in some parts of the world. People looking out for each other. Regularly. Relentlessly. Neighbors watching each others children, having enough food to share and actually sharing it, being invested in each others lives because everyone has different strengths.

Today community has been strategically painted as a weakness and something to be skeptical of because it is a threat to the very foundations of capitalism. And that’s a real fucking shame because in reality, growing up with community and still having that through adulthood would probably make most people generally happier and less perpetually tired and stressed. It is renewable resilient versatile adaptable self-sustaining and kind of the Ultimate Resource.

One of my Favorite Things about the Gabriella gadfly Suite is how unapologetically horny the mascot 04k is. It might Not have lasted for Long but for Just a Bit Nature really was healing

#paul shapera #shaperaverse #like we don't get a ton of info about what the casts lives were like in gabriella gadfly #but it just seems so much more wishfulfilly than the cabaret #han gets to be a villain that isn't just a racial stereotype and henry doesn't have to deal with any of his religious trauma #you really get the sense that this is something the ai offered them as an escape from their shitty lives #and then in the cabaret most of their backstories are basically just the issues they had irl but slightly to the left #because the ai are both more desperate and generally more callous cause they've been ai for longer #and then at the very end in marys cabaret he's joking about hurl and owning his hornyness again #so in the end nature does heal!

Everytime I replay it/watch someone else play it, I remember how much someone on the writing team for specifically Mass Effect 3 is a War of the Worlds fan.

War of the Worlds #why do the Reapers suddenly blare alarms when neither Sovereign or Harbinger did to my mind? The Martian 'Ulla!'#Hell the first actual mission is on MARS for God's sake #this is blatant and as a fellow War of the Worlds fan I really appreciate it #hell given that the majority of the game is focused on healing old racial and colonial wounds (Tuchanka especially springs to mind)#AND how much the game establishes that without their technological advantages the Reapers keep getting beaten like a drum #Mass Effect 3 might actually be one of the most thematically faithful adaptations of The War of the Worlds in existence #which honestly says more about the other adaptations than it does about Mass Effect 3
