Khi nghĩ đến Marketing trong những năm gần đây, có lẽ phần lớn chúng ta sẽ tin rằng những quảng cáo viral hay chiến dịch tiếp thị kỹ thuật số sẽ là phương thức lan toả mạnh mẽ nhất hiện nay. Tuy nhiên trên thực tế, ít ai ngờ quảng cáo trên radio, đài phát thanh vẫn đang giữ cường độ hoạt động trong suốt thời gian qua. Quảng cáo trên radio là hình thức quảng cáo sử dụng kịch bản chứa nội dung về loại hình sản phẩm, dịch vụ qua giọng đọc hay, các hiệu ứng âm thanh phù hợp, cũng có thể là một trích đoạn ngắn từ một bài hát, một tình huống với nhân vật cụ thể và nhắc tới sản phẩm trong đó. Điểm sáng của loại hình quảng cáo này chính là có thể tối giản nhân sự cũng như tiết kiệm ngân sách hơn so với những cách tiếp thị khác mà vẫn đem đến kết quả tốt cho các thương hiệu. Quảng cáo chỉ bằng giọng nói cũng có khả năng tạo được ấn tượng riêng. Giọng đọc quảng cáo thường là các phát thanh viên, diễn viên đã quen thuộc với thính giả nghe đài, nhận được sự yêu mến và tin tưởng. Quảng cáo bằng âm thanh với thông điệp ngắn gọn, ấn tượng, dễ thuộc, dễ nhớ và không gây hiệu ứng “mệt” với người nghe vì thời lượng không kéo dài.
