Craft bloggers: You can use your old tshirts to make a colourful rag rug! ✨🌈
Me, a metalhead: Well... task failed successfully I guess?

(Foot included for scale. This is the final resting place of about a quarter-century's worth of beloved but defunct band shirts, plus a few plain black clothes I threw in just to make up the sheer amount of rag bits I needed.
...I will confess, I did kinda do it for the bit. XD)

Here's a close up of my rug, and a look at how I made it :) I need a round lil cushion to go with my rug for long term sitting, and that way I can use the shirt tops that I can't make into yarn, for stuffing! I'm also planning on making a kneeling stool too, so that I have options on days when different things flare up.
I use rubber-banded-shut pliers for a lucet fork because it's what I have, and they happen to have the strength to handle thick tshirt yarn lol

I will happily plan a pattern with a treadling that is so complex and then curse whichever idiot is responsible for making a design that is so difficult to weave

Having some time of at my parents' house means time to craft. At the moment I'm working on a long time project doing a bathroom-rya with a latch hook and also finishing the long overdue rag rug in my loom. Wished I could this all day instead of work!

thank you for your service counterfeit checkered vans. you gave me five good years of trips to the mailbox, carrying out the trash, and quick runs to the grocery store for that one missing ingredient. in the summer, there was no better shoe for crossing the hot blacktop between the parking lot and the wills park municipal pool. more importantly, you satisfied twelve year old mumblelard's childhood dream of wearing checkered vans and listening to cum on feel the noize at top volume like the bad kids. you will be missed

This is what the afterlife looks like for pyjamas in my family.
You cut them into spirals to make yarn, knit a garter stitch rectangle and sew on new balls as you go. This will be my second bathmat. The first is still amazing, but it doesn’t dry so well in winter, so we want a back-up.
Not long to go now!
