Viarnne is so cute and I'd love to learn more about him! I was wondering some things though. IIRC kikos are semi-aquatic (or something?) and I wonder if that's been an issue for Viarnne? Also would he need to use screen protectors/screen cleaner for his face like contacts/glasses cleaner irl? Idk why I think it'd be cute if robot pets could accessorise like buying cases for a Switch/tablet. Thanks for your time! I love your characters, creative character designs and fun art style. Ooh, I’ve thought about the aquatic thing before, but I never actually decided how waterproof he is… I feel like it would only be reasonable for the robot Kiko to be waterproof, because Kikos are amphibious, but Viarnne is like, an off-brand modded prototype robot Kiko, so I’m not sure how waterproof he actually is. I think he’s probably safe in shallow water, but going too deep could cause some problems related to water pressure that other robot Kikos might not face- I’m not sure he’d be able to visit Maraqua, for instance. Although… who isn’t aquatic who CAN visit Maraqua without like, magic spells… huh.

He probably should get a screen protector… I’m still not quite sure whether he actually sees through the screen, but it would make the most sense. It probably would be a lot like glasses, where you don’t always notice when they’re dirty but its definitely easier to see through them when they’re clean.

I love the idea of robot pet accessories because I love that kind of thing in real life, like when people make special cases for their Tamagotchis… I dunno how practical it’d be though, just because there’s so many robot pets and they generally resemble their non-robotic counterparts in body plan close enough that I’d imagine they’d just wear regular clothes if they wanted to accessorize. 

I feel like robots tricking themselves out like people do with their electronics and cars would make sense though- give yourself some sick decals or glitter paint or rainbow LEDS. I think Viarnne would be too nervous to let himself be modded- the three people who built his robot body are the only people who know for sure how he works, and he is extremely afraid of dying and being dead, despite it already having happened to him once

I miss my Neopets plushies. In 2004 McDonald's had Neopets toys in happy meals. My friends hung out at a McDonalds a lot (as we were teens and it was an easy place to meet up)... So they kept getting me the toys. I literally had over a hundred, all different types... But when I was 17/18 I was homeless... So I gave them all to a charity because I couldn't keep everything/carry it all around... That's part of why my neoblog is Plushie-Neopet. Fixation on lost gifts.

oh man, I’m sorry to hear that 8( that sucks so much. I hope you can get your hands on some more in the future!  Neopets is really something huh. Seems to have affected a ton of people in such a positive way!

I respect not everyone wants the label. I tend to only use it for myself. I think ops point was that saying it’s a slur as an attempt to stop them reclaiming it is a problem. It’s still used as a slur, but someone telling me I should feel ashamed/avoid language I am reclaiming for myself is just taking away a label I strongly identify with and (even if indirectly) does help terfs/transphobes who want us to feel ashamed/isolated :c

Yeah I think certain parts were just... not very well worded to put it lightly. Like no its absolutely not fair to even very indirectly accuse trans people that don’t like that term of helping transphobes. Like... no they aren’t. We could definitely come up with a new inclusive term that lacks the slur use history. Its not an X or Y scenario.

Not that I’m saying to you “don’t use that term you evil bad person you!” I’m saying “don’t tell people that were abused under that word they shouldn’t say anything because that somehow that hurts us all.” that’s bullshit mind game fuckery right there. Transphobes don’t benefit jack shit in regards to my feelings towards that word anymore than ableists benefit from me not wanting to reclaim the word psycho.

Reclaiming is a personal choice we should let everyone make with respect to it, none of this passive aggressive “well you can make this choice but bad things will indirectly happen if you do woooo~”.
