actually it would be funny if the in the identity crisis AU, the personality swap somehow unlocked Keith's suppressed accent. just imagine allura and coran's confusion. four of her paladins are all scrambled up, and now Keith is also talking extremely strangely.
she points it out to Keith and he's just like oh. yeah. ah've got an accent. I was just suppressin' it the whole time. ain't no need to worry.

Tavified and Dark Urged Zebulon
Made him a devotion paladin because it fits with his original Elder Scrolls backstory, but he's also from the Underdark so I'm not entirely sure how he found a Lawful knightly order in what appears to be Chaotic land. Anyway he’s gonna date Wyll and be angsty about it which is on-brand for him, and will again (attempt to) be much nicer than he appears

fic rec friday 60
hello and welcome to fic rec friday! where, on friday, i rec five of my favourite fics.
Dream, Seam by @ardett and @maychorian
Lance is the blue paladin. The Galra realize this before he does.
y'all....this au is insane. like genuinely one of the coolest concepts i have seen in this fandom. lance, taken by the galra as an infant and raised by them (altho they treat him like shit, obviously, so fair warning for that), as an asset, because they know he is the blue paladin, because he can See things he should not be able to see? and then he has to get integrated into voltron...yall nothing i can say can do this au justice. there's this almost ethereal feel to the entire fic, there were several moments where my chest was swoopy and my breathing was off bc i was like oh god oh god oh god. the complicated relationships, lance's struggle, and ALSO BONUS!!! das thace!!! i miss dad thace!!! do my fellow voltron geriatrics remember when dad thace was everywhere!! bc i do!! and i miss it!!!
2. five times someone didn't know keith and lance were dating, and one time everyone did by Shorty
Keith shrugs nonchalantly. “I’m still mad about the whole ‘babe’ thing.” ... Or, exactly what the title says.
there is nothing i can say about this fic that isn't in the title 💀 it's exactly what it says it is. and it hits. but some crumbs to intrigue you: 1) one of the tags on this fic is 'hunk is a hunk', 2) it's a 2016 fic, and 3) trust me.
3. Some Secrets Don't Need To Be Kept by @squirenonny
Keith finds out he's part Galra. It's not as big a deal as he expects.
look. sometimes i just want things to be soft. what if keith had it easy? for once in his fucking life? what if people chilled the hell out? for ten minutes? this is seven thousand words of people being like hey keith u know what. take it easy. we got u babes. and i am grateful
4. How to Fake an Interest in Biochemical Engineering by @squirenonny
Shiro has a crush on Matt Holt. But every time he runs into Matt he ends up embarrassing himself. Shiro's best friend Allura is no help. His little brother Keith is even worse. But Shiro is going to make his move before graduation if it kills him. (And it just might kill him.)
SHATT SHATT SHATT SHATT SHATT. shockingly, i didn't just choose this one bc of the recent discourse lol. this is another 2016 fic that i adore. it's just -- disaster shiro, whipped shiro, down bad shiro, sweet matt, cackling keith, shiro who is dying of embarrassment, gay as all fuck shiro, etc etc. it hits. i laughed.
5. Neighbors by starryeyedchar
Lance stood in front of him, but it was a Lance he'd never seen before. Granted, Keith didn't know him well by any means, but he was positive that the regular Lance would be leaning against the doorframe with a smirk, maybe a couple finger-guns. Not this. This Lance had wrapped himself in a blanket, and was still shivering slightly. His skin was much paler than usual, with flushed cheeks and sweat on his brow. He sniffled. “Um.” Or the one where Keith and Lance live in apartments next to each other, and Lance is too sick for Keith to just leave him by himself.
this one is just very dorky and sweet. i love any fic that captures the exact moment in keiths brain when he goes oh no oh shit oh fuck hes HAWT and lance looks like genuine actual shit actually. its so funny to me
that’s it for today!! i’ll see y’all back next friday for the next fic rec post!!!

Inspired by @mdoodlerfandomart 's Coalition Lance AU.
~~~
The Voltron team was in a somber mood as they made their way back to Earth. Pidge a bit less so, because she was so looking forward to seeing her mom and dad, but even that only served to remind her that one of their own wouldn't be coming home to his family. The Voltron team had a Lance shapped hole in their ranks and everyone was feeling his absence.
Coran missed the incesant chatter from the coms which Lance had usually initiated, and Allura missed their gossip beauty sessions. Shiro had an immense amount of guilt over Lance's capture, despite technically not having been there when it happened. He contantly wondered if his clone had somehow set Lance up in an ambush, and hated that his memories of that time were disjointed and blurry at best.
Pidge busied herself by radioing every ship and planet within distance to ask if they had seen a man, tall, brown skin and blue eyed, but everyone she could get in contact with said no. (On the plus side of this process, though, they did discover that the Coalition seemed to be in good hands, so that was a relief, at least.)
Hunk kept a small notebook where he drafter hundreds, if not thousands, of ways in which he might have to break the news to Lance's family that their son, brother, cousin, uncle, etc., was MIA, likely presumed dead. None of them were completed because Hunk inevitably broke down in tears every time before he could finish any of them.
And Keith... well, Keith kept holding onto hope that Lance was alive, somewhere in the wide universe. He simply refused to believe that Lance was dead. The team kept telling him he was in denial, but it was the only thing that kept him going. Otherwise he didn't think he'd be able to function. He often played with one of Lance's necklaces that Keith now wore and wondered about his whereabouts.
If he was in a good mood, Lance had escaped to a planet of peaceful aliens and awaited rescue. It was his greatest, most indulgent daydream that they defeated the Galra once and for all and Keith led a rescue mission to find Lance, found him and brought him home. However, if he was in a bad mood, he tended to imagine progressively worse case scenarios that left him on the verge of a panic attack and spiralling. It was the uncertainity that got to him and wore him down.
As the Earth finally appeared in front of them, Red and Blue picked up speed and went ahead of the rest to spearhead the formation. It was a bit unusual, but the Paladins didn't have the energy to question it. There were a lot of mixed emotions in the group and they were absolutely exhausted in every way that mattered. The comms were quiet. Each Paladin was lost in their thoughts, and their missing Paladin weighed heavily in their minds.
Suddenly, as they entered the Earth's athmosphere, the comms began to crackle.
"Earth to Voltron, do you copy?"
Every single one of the Paladins startled in their seat and their eyes widened in disbelief. They turned on their comms and cameras. They all looked at each other as if they had seen a ghost. Hunk was the first to break the silence.
"Was that...?"
"Earth to Voltron, do you copy?" the voice repeated and this time Keith yanked the radio out of its base as his heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest.
"Lance?! Voltron to Earth, we copy. Lance, is that you?!" Keith yells into the receiver.
"Keith?! Oh my gosh, you're alive!" Lance exclaimed on the other side.
"What do you mean I'm alive? You're alive!" Keith retorted and he couldn't help the smile on his face or the tears in his eyes.
Just then they received a notification of an incoming live transmission that Pidge immediately accepted. A new screen popped up in front of them and there he was, alive and breathing, the one and only, Lance McClain.
On the screen, he laughed incredulously as he wiped at his eyes and said, "Hey guys, it's been a while."
What followed was chaos: everyone began talking at the same time, raising their voices to be heard above the others, and asked all sorts of questions wanting to know how Lance ended up on Earth, how he escaped the Galra, was he okay, he he seen their families, were they okay and the cockpit descended into pandemonium as Lance valiantly attempted to answer all of them.
Keith, however, was quietly taking in and just looking at his boyfriend after years of holoscreens and memories. Lance was no longer a lanky, awkward teen. He'd filled out: his shoulders broadened and, while still thin, he seemed to have gained a lot of muscle. His face had sharpened and Keith could see a bit of stubble on his chin and cheeks. He had a few new scars, too. He was also wearing a Garrison unifform, with a few medals in it.
"Keith?" Lance asked, and Keith realized he'd just missed most of the conversation. Keith smiled.
"Hey, sharpshooter," he replied. Lance sent him a flirty smirk in return.
"What? Did you miss me?"
"You have no idea," Keith answered and didn't care if he was being sappy in front of the Paladins and however many people were in the command center. Lance chucked wetly and his gaze softened.
"We're ready for you to land. Unfortunately, our hangars aren't anywhere near large enough for the lions, but there's an open field right outside. Crew members will be waiting for you in their vehicles to bring you to base. There are some people here who can't wait to see you guys!"
Keith raised an eyebrow. Lance looked, and sounded, so mature... so professional. It was hard to believe he was the same goofball he fell in love with.
"How come you're at the helm?" he asked. Lance smirked, but it was Pidge who answered.
"If you hadn't been so busy making oogly eyes at him, you would have heard that he's the head of the coalition. You know, the one we've hearing about," she snarked with a shit-eating grin on her face.
"Wait, for real?!" Keith exclaimed.
Lance gasped and grabbed his chest in a wounded gesture, "You heathen! Can you sound a little less surprised? Do you really have so little faith in me? You wound me!"
Someone out of shot of camera in the command center said something to Lance that the Paladins didn't manage to catch. Lance's reaction, though, was telling enough. He scoffed in mock offense and replied, "You take that back!"
Keith laughed. It was nice to see his Lance in this new, grown version of him. He asked, "How did that even happen?"
Lance scoffed again and rolled his eyes, "Again, it's a very long story and I don't want to clutter the frequency. You're welcome to come for dinner at mine's and I'll tell you all about it." Lance winked.
"Fine," Keith relented.
"Transmission over," Lance said and his screen disappeared. Only then did Keith pay attention to the looks of awe and joy in the rest of the Paladins. Hunk was even openly crying and babbling about how glad he was that Lance was okay. Keith felt the same.
It was as if a stone had been lifted off of his chest and now he could breathe! Liquid fire poured through his veins and, for the first time in a long while, he felt like he could battle a hundred cruiseships and win! Red purred in his mind, and Keith was transported back to the very first time he flew red, before the war and their losses had worn down his excitment and passion for flying a sentinent lion in space. He smirked.
"Race you," he said, and sped down towards the Earth at full speed. Red happily obliged.
"You cheat!" Pidge yelled and gave chess.
Hunk followed with an indignant, "Hey!"
Allura, Shiro and Coran laughed joyously and tried to catch up.
Keith didn't care all that much, to be honest. He had a very pressing reunion to get to, after all.
~~~
I hope you liked it! It's just a scene, and it doesn't encompass a lot of events but I wanted to focus on the characters. I'd like to explore other scenes, perhaps later, from Lance's POV on Earth or maybe Keith's POV when he first finds out Lance is missing until they exit the time dilation worm hole thingy.
Let me know what you think!✌🏼

So. Xedgin marriage of convenience canon divergence AU?
Like, raising a kid by yourself after your wife is killed is hard. You have no money and your new BFF is trying to convince you to start stealing to make ends meet which is, you know, the thing that got your wife killed.
Hard pass.
He remembers that paladins are good source of income if you marry one and the orders are always looking for willing spouses for their knights, providing for the family even if the paladin gets killed and even providing scholarships and education for children if necessary. Which is exactly what Edgin and Kira needs.
He presents himself as a candidate and writes a letter of intent to his potential future husband (and yes, he only wants a husband, he cannot imagine himself being married to a woman again, he was, once, Zia was once in a lifetime, he feels like a new wife would be a betrayal— he makes sure to point out no halflings tho, he trust Holga but better safe than sorry!). He feels he’s a good catch, he’s good looking, thanks to having been a Harper he has multiple useful skills that a paladin would appreciate like taking care of weapons and armour, horses, he’s also a decent cook and he can knit? All he needs is someone who’d provide for his family; himself, his daughter and newfound sister.
He quickly gets a reply from a potential candidate, who is absolutely taken by his story, having also lost a family to red wizards of Thay as he himself is a Thayan.
Even harder pass. No Thayans are going to be sharing Ed’s house and bed, and he won’t let one near his daughter.
But tendays pass and no other replies come and he’s starting to get desperate. He finally writes the reply to the “Xenk” agreeing to engagement (he asked around, everyone, including Holga, knows stories of the guy and they are all positive, and if there’s a part of him that is like “maybe you deserve to be married to a Thayan after your previous spouse got killed by one and it’s all your fault?” he’s not gonna argue with the self-loathing voice in his head).
A letter comes asking him to meet at the temple of whatever god Xenk is a paladin of in a couple of days so they can get married.
Edgin doesn’t want Kira to come with him but Holga insists, it’s probably a good idea to get his daughter used to the fact that there’s gonna be a new person living in the house with them from time to time?
And so on a nice afternoon they all go the temple where Edgin meets his fiancé for the first time ever, and literally 10 minutes later is married to him.
There are good times (turns out that Xenk is really really really - and I cannot stress this enough - REALLY good at sex) bad times (Edgin freaks out when he hears Xenk speaking Thayan to Kira) and average times.
Some time down the line Ed eventually falls in love with Xenk, because that’s how these stories go. Oh and they also go on an adventure and thwart an evil plot to undeadify the entire city of Neverwinter because destiny likes to make sure things that are meant to happen, happen.

so, after watching the movie, my first thoughts were "edgin and xenk should've kissed and adopted a baby together to raise so kira can have a sibling."
so i decided to plop an orphan tabaxi cub into xenk's arms. xenk was close by where edgin, holga and kira lives so decides to stop there bc xenk may be "mr. perfect paladin" but he's not too knowledgeable about taking care of a baby. edgin is reluctant at first but he does have a soft spot for kids, especially babies so he lets xenk into their home.
- xenk was at first planning on taking the orphan to an orphanage, similar to the one he stayed at when he was a child. (kinda like a church) edgin wasn't on board with the idea, pushing xenk to take the baby in. ("but i travel a lot. i am not fit to raise a child." "yeah, neither was i! it's fine, the kid can stay here! you can stay here!" -cue awkward silence-)
- the tabaxi cub is a lot smaller than your average cub, and xenk suspects because the baby is a runt. the only item the child has is a bracelet with the markings of trees on it.
- when kira asked for the baby's name, xenk said they did not have one so they were brainstorming ideas. holga took one look at the cub and said "looks like a gary to me." so the name stuck. (xenk wasn't too keen the name, trying to be respectful of the tabaxi culture. edgin added "of the woods" to the name to please xenk. so the cub's name is gary of the woods.)
- our running joke with this au is that the baby is small, but when they grow up, ends up being the tallest of the whole bunch. holga still calls gary "little bit" tho.
- edgin is stubborn about it, but helping xenk take care of a baby is making him fall for the guy. xenk has always found edgin to be interesting, but he too is falling for edgin bc edgin treats him like a normal person and is actually a good father, even if edgin doesn't believe it himself half of the time. it's all very slow-burn. (one particular scenario i have is edgin encouraging xenk to sing a lullaby to little gary, who is crying. xenk is slow to start but starts singing a thayan lullaby his mother used to sing. it calms the baby down and it actually makes xenk emotional. edgin is all, heart in his eyes bc this was the most he's ever seen xenk emote and also wtf, this guy has a voice of an angel.)
- gary when he's older: this is my papa, xenk. and my dad, edgin. and my auntie holga. and my big sister, kira. and my other auntie doric. and that's simon!! (´∀`) he's my best friend!! (simon with his hands over his heart, getting all teary eyed)
- gary of the woods looks like this:

omgomgomgomg please tell me more about the batfam dnd au. whos what class? whos each race (i can only guess half) what are their backstories....
I dont have everyone's backstory (nor do I have a firm grasp on DND yet) but this is what I have so far Tim- DM Bruce- Human Paladin Dick- Tiefling Bard Babs- Dragonborn Artificer Jason- Halforc Rouge (Turned halforc fighter) Cass- Kenku Rouge Steph-Halfling Barbarian Duke- Elf Sorcerer Damian-Dragonborn Druid
Dick's character, Robin, stays pretty close to his childhood. Robin was raised in the circus with her parents being musicians. She trained herself on the trumpet, tuba and french horn. Following in her parent's footsteps she wanders the world trying to bring joy to others through her music. Eventually turning to her wanting to learn to be the best gymnast and to entertain kings and royalty. Babs and Duke are both royalty however in two very different environments. Duke was born to the forest and has an innate ability to control and command fireflies. This left him with the in charge of their light source and acted as a guide to those visiting. This left him with the title "Solar Guide". Babs however is the in a kingdom of machinery and advancements. Born with a tinkerer's mind she visited Duke's kingdom to explore how to combine both machinery, magic and nature. As well as to broker a deal between the two of them.
Damian's character, The Inevitable, was once a powerful druid. They were so strong in fact that they were once the final boss of a prior hypothetical campaign. However once the heros of the campaign defeated them they cursed him to never retain his memories, seen with the mask chained to his face. So all the spells and abilities he once had are no longer in his head. He is able to piece together that he was a druid due to the plethora of animals in his domain. They specialized in rot and decay with a motif of mushrooms. His main goal is to break the mask and gain back all the information lost to him over the past hundred years.

@dailystobin -> stobin week day three: favorite au -> QPR marriage
(this is a continuation of my platonic marriage series! the only thing you really need to know is Birdie is their adopted daughter.)
Chapters: 1/1 Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Robin Buckley & Steve Harrington, Additional Tags: Dungeons & Dragons, Marriage, Adoption, Found family, Fluff, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, POV Robin Buckley, Post-Season/Series 03, Stobin Week 2023 Summary: In 2000, Erica is home from law school for Christmas Break, and Scoops Troop reunites for a game of D&D.
It’s late when Sir Stephen of Hawkwing’s Realm finds the witch’s hut nestled deep in the darkwood. An owl hoots noisily overhead; the thick canopy hides the stars and the moon. Sir Stephen lifts his lamp higher.
Her hut is buried in overgrown brambles and creeping ivy. The thatch roof is nearly clouded in smoke pouring from the chimney; the shimmer of warding magic glimmers in his lamplight as he approaches. The shining eyes of an animal watching him catches the light, and he swings his lamp quickly in its direction to scare the beast away. Just a raccoon, more than likely, but there are far more dangerous things in these woods and he’s ill equipped at the moment for an encounter.
His sword and shield are tucked away against a nearby tree. The miserable crone back at the village’s instructions for getting past the wards were clear. “You must carry no weapon and no defense.” His shining steel plate armor, embossed with the symbol of the ancients to whom he pledged his life, is also leaning against the tree.
He approaches the hut in his loose silk tunic and tight linen pants, his boots treading softly against the grass. He reaches his lamp through the ward first, testing, before the rest of him follows.
It’s warmer on this side of the ward, but Sir Stephen still approaches the door with caution. The firelight in the glazed windows flickers and burns as he raised his hand to rap on the door.
It swings open, and on the other side is a tall, willowy elf, with dirty blonde hair cropped just below her ears and piercing blue eyes. She’s leaning against a dark, gnarled wizard’s staff, well worn in the middle where her hand grips.
“Come,” she says, her voice high and accented.
The house is warm and cluttered. Spell components lay in nearly every direction he can see—a jar of pickling newt eyes, drying herbs from every corner of the globe hanging from the ceiling, dragon claws and hippogriff beaks lining shelves, wet black squid tentacles in a bucket in the corner. Glowing potions, sparking magic items and shimmering mage’s robes are thrown all over the place.
Still, the stew bubbling in the cauldron above the fire smells divine, and she’s made no move towards him. She goes back to the cauldron and points to the table, where a teenage human girl sits waiting.
“Sit,” the witch says. “I’ll be with you in a minute.”
Sir Stephen sits. The teenager watches him closely, but doesn’t speak.
“I’m in a hurry,” Sir Stephen says. “If you could hear me out now—”
“You can’t rush good soup,” the witch replies.
Sir Stephen huffs and leans back in his chair.
The teenager next to him clears her throat. Her back is straight in her chair and she’s looking at him intently.
“Hi,” he says. “I’m Sir Stephen of—”
“Daddy,” Birdie interrupts, laughing. Birdie’s laugh is Robin’s favorite sound. “You can’t play with your own name. It’s supposed to be pretend.”
She’s eight and learning how to have an attitude from both her Uncle Dustin and her Auntie Erica, who she’s currently sitting in between. They’re at Steve and Robin’s, huddled around the kitchen table, finally introducing D&D to Birdie while Erica is home from law school on Christmas vacation. She’s DMing and starting them off with Steve’s paladin. It’s supposed to be a short arc, just a few hours here and there during Erica’s break.
“Your dad always plays as Stephen,” Erica says with an eye roll. “He’s uncreative—don’t let it rub off on you.” Birdie nods solemnly, her eyes wide. She takes everything Erica says so seriously.
“He’s played a paladin or a knight every. single. time. we’ve ever played,” Dustin adds.
“At least your mom is branching out,” Erica adds. “She’s always a bard.”
“I happen to like bards,” Robin says haughtily. “Everyone else is just jealous because they can’t play any actual instruments when they play a bard.” Robin remembers ten years ago, playing with Erica and Dustin and busting out her trumpet whenever she needed to cast a spell.
“Whatever,” Erica says. “If you bring out that trumpet again I’m throwing it away.”
Robin laughs.
“No more talking,” Birdie complains. “Let’s play.”
“Alright, alright,” Erica says. “Where were we?”
“I’m Sir Stephen of Hawkwing’s Realm,” he says. “I’m here to ask the witch for a potion.”
“I’m Princess Lily-Daisy and I’m from Roseland,” the teenage at the table says. “I’m here to—wait, why am I here?” Birdie asks Erica.
“You need the witch’s help undoing a curse on your kingdom,” Erica explains, and Birdie repeats it in the British accent she’s been practicing with her uncle Dustin all week. It’s so exaggerated that Robin thinks it might actually be bordering on offensive to the English, and she hides a smile behind her hand. Birdie was nervous enough about it, which is why Robin’s doing her silliest voice, high and accented with Robin’s worst French accent, the same one Steve uses when he impersonates his mom.
“Princess,” Sir Stephen says and flourishes his hand into a bow. “What curse has befallen your land?”
“It’s always nighttime,” Princess Lily-Daisy says. “It’s cold and dark and my people are all asleep.” Birdie peaks over at Erica to make sure that’s okay, and Erica gives her a thumbs up.
“A sleeping kingdom?” The witch says. “I believe we will need to travel to your land to lift that curse.”
“My potion first, witch” Sir Stephen says with a snarl.
“You may address me by my name, sir paladin,” the witch says. “It’s Sparrow.”
Steve next to her the table laughs, so loud and sudden that Dustin nearly jumps.
“Hey,” Birdie says smiling. “That was almost my name.”
“Sure was,” Steve says and winks at her, which always makes Birdie giggle.
“And thank God they changed their minds,” Erica says, leveling a look at the two of them. It’s funny now to think how their Birdie was almost their Sparrow.
“You’re Birdie,” Dustin agrees. “Definitely not Sparrow.”
Birdie’s nose wrinkles, and she shakes her head. “Definitely not Sparrow,” she agrees.
“Anyway,” Erica says and continues her narration.
Sir Stephen waits for Sparrow to finish her stew before she sets bowls in front of the princess and the paladin.
“Now,” Sparrow says. “You will get your potion Sir Stephen, but only after you’ve helped me lift this curse on the Princess’s realm. I think we’ll need the ancients’ help for this one.”
Sir Stephen agrees, and the three wait until morning before leaving the witch’s home. The sunrise filters in through the darkwood’s canopy overhead as Stephen puts his plate armor back on and secures his sword and shield. Princess Lily-Daisy retrieves a bow and quiver, slinging them both across her back as they make their way towards Roseland.
Half a day’s walk into their travels, they crash into a fleeing man, who says, “Run!” They all race down the path after they hear a monstrous roar behind them as a horde of Kobolds emerge from their cave and give the heroes chase through the forest.
Finally, the paladin and witch stop and face the horde, the witch casting shielding spells as the paladin cuts through the Kobolds. The princess deals the final blow to the horde with an arrow through the eye of the leader.
The witch traps the man in an unbreakable hold as the princess turns to interrogate him.
“Why were they chasing you?” She says.
“No reason,” the man says, voice tinged with the same Roseland accent the princess has.
“I’m your princess—tell the truth or I’ll throw you in prison.”
“Woah,” Steve says next to Robin, looking at Birdie with an amused expression. “No trial or anything? Just straight to prison?”
Birdie smiles and looks up at Dustin. “If he doesn’t tell the truth! I’m the princess and I can put whoever I want into jail.”
Erica laughs next to her. “As a law student I have to say that’s not fair,” she says, “but as your auntie I say that makes perfect sense.” Birdie snuggles into Erica’s side and sticks her tongue out at Steve.
Princess Lily-Daisy interrogates the man until he finally confesses to stealing gold from the Kobolds.
“For your crime, I sentence you to helping us,” the princess says as the witch releases her bonds on the man, a rogue they learned is named Radcliffe.
“Very well, my princess,” Radcliffe agrees. Dustin next to Birdie stands and gives her a deep, dramatic bow. Birdie smiles, and everything turns pink, like the room is glowing with the love Robin has for these people beside her. Robin lays her head on Steve's shoulder, watches as Birdie laughs at her Uncle Dustin, still cuddled up into Erica's side.
“The party sets out,” Erica says, “as the noon sun beats down on you and the realm of Roseland waits for rescue.”

A/N: Wrote this for @kingmaker-a since I was doing my friend duties, and I loved the fic so much that I wanted to share it with all of you!
TW: Paladin! Reader, cursing, lots of teasing/joking between friends :)
♡ Masterlist ♡
Summary: Your day at the mall with your friends goes well until they run into their crushes right before you run into yours. Luckily, you've got the best/worst wingwoman to help you out with capturing Yoohyeon's heart.

You loved that kid, you really did.
But right now? She was about seven seconds away from being glared into oblivion.
You thought she was adorable, you engaged in her antics, and you let her bully you.
God, you did love her, but she was so damn oblivious to the situation.

"Hey, what's your plan for checking out the mall?" Katie asks everyone as they enter the mall.
"Well, I was just gonna-"
Mala's interrupted by Sparrow's squealing before shoving Neon to the ground.
"Siyeon's right there, and I'm gonna get to her before you do!" Sparrow sticks her tongue out at Neon before running to catch Siyeon.
"Damn you." Neon grumbles before getting off the floor and chasing after Sparrow.
"They run fast for boomers." Katie says before laughing. "Isn't that right, Mala?"
Katie looks around, confused, until you point in the opposite direction.
"Oh?" Katie turns to see Mala talking with Tzuyu in the distance. "Oh."
"Guess it's you and me, huh?" You teasingly rub her head as she scoffs before laughing.
Katie was tall, but you still had a few inches on her. You had hoped she wouldn't grow taller because you'd never hear the end of it, and as luck would have it, she still was shorter than you.
"Since everyone else has decided to major in Rizzics, I guess it is just us," Katie pauses for a beat before asking, "wait, do you even know what rizz means?"
"Of course I know what rizz means-"
Katie has that shit-eating smile on her face, which causes you to sigh. You know that you can't argue with her, otherwise your ego will be blown to smithereens.
"-Are you sure ya do, boomer? Ink scrolls aren't that up to date."
Okay, that one wasn't too bad, you reasoned.
"Jokes on you," You say before letting a smirk settle on your face, "I read it on a stone tablet."
"So you are old!"
"Did I ever say I wasn't?"
"Oh, look, it's Yoohyeon!" Katie waves in the distance as you roll your eyes.
"Good prank, Katie."
"I'm not joking!!" She whines before slightly pouting. "She's literally walking towards us right now."
"No she's not-" You stop talking when you see that Katie isn't pulling your leg for once. "Oh fuck."
~
"Are you nervous~?" Katie teases as you feel your face get hot.
"Don't even go there. Do I need to find the list of crushes that you have?"
"Fuck you," She shoves you away before laughing, " but fine, you got me, I'll be on my best behavior."
She innocently raises her hands in the air while batting her eyelids, and you roll your eyes at her actions.
"You're a child."
"I know, it's my charm!" She winks at you before putting her arms down. "Hey Yoohyeon!"
"Katie!"
You watch and smile as the two girls quickly embrace. Katie lets go of Yoohyeon first before taking her hand and dragging her over to you.
"Wah!" She cries out before smiling. "Don't do that next time, you scared me!"
"You're overexaggerating." Katie matter-of-factly says before letting go of Yoohyeon right in front of you.
You nervously cough as Yoohyeon scans you up and down.
"It's good to see you."
"Yeah, it really is." She wistfully says as you two awkwardly stare at each other.
"Awkward..." Katie mumbles as you shoot her a 'don't-say-a-word' look. "Anyways, Yooh, you should join us!"
"No, Katie," You say before apologetically looking at Yoohyeon, "she probably has more important things to do."
"Actually, I was going to hang out with Siyeon, but she seems a little... preoccupied as of now." Yoohyeon giggles along with Katie at the thought of Neon and Sparrow's shenanigans.
"Then you can totally come with us!" Katie slightly pulls on Yoohyeon's arm before sending you a cute pleading look. "Please?"
"Katie, I-"
You pause and try to hide your embarrassment as you see Yoohyeon mirroring Katie's antics.
My god, that woman's going to give me a heart attack.
"-was going to say that Yoohyeon is more than welcome to join us, if she wants to."
Yoohyeon has a cheesy smile on her face as Katie lets go of Yoohyeon and hugs you instead.
"Don't do anything dumb." You whisper before giving her a hug back.
"I'm not going to do anything dumb, it's not in my nature! Mischievous, yes, but dumb? What do you take me for, an idiot?"
"Well..."
"HEY!" Katie hollers before shoving you away. "Don't make me call stranger danger on you, boomer."
Yoohyeon bursts out laughing as your face gets hotter.
"Boomer?" She says in-between fits of laughter. "My goodness, you don't spare anyone, do you?"
Katie defiantly nods her head as Yoohyeon continues to laugh.
"That's good to know. I can stay on my toes, then. Wouldn't want to be called a boomer, huh?" Yoohyeon jokingly nudges you with her elbow as you chuckle.
"Katie's something, alright."
"Hey, why don't you tell her who your favorite artist during the Renaissance period is since you got to witness it first-hand?" Katie says as you hiss in response.
And there's the one for today.
"First of all, fuck you," You say before letting yourself smile, "Second of all, that's as funny as shit."
The three of you laugh before Katie's eyes widen.
"Oh my goodness, is that-"
"-Shin Yuna." You finish her statement as a smirk lands on your face.
Oh, this is gonna be good.
"Who's Shin Yuna?" Yoohyeon quietly asks before leaning towards you.
"One of Katie's crushes."
"Oooh~" Yoohyeon teases before poking Katie's shoulder. "You grow up too fast for me, you know?"
"I'm not a kid!" Katie huffs before quickly fixing her hair. "Do I look alright?"
"Of course you do." Yoohyeon compliments as a smile breaks out on the younger girl's face.
"Good because I'm about to get rejected." Katie jokingly says before nervously sighing and starting to walk away.
"Go get 'em, tiger!" Yoohyeon cheers as you snort.
"She likes pandas."
"Go get 'em, panda!"
Katie shoots the two of you a thumbs up before finally facing Yuna. You watch Yoohyeon, who watches the two girls with loving eyes.
"Isn't young love something?"
"Are we really that old?" You mutter as she shakes her head.
"No, that's not what I meant. I mean, look at them-"
She stops talking as you watch Katie play with a string on her shirt as she talks to Yuna. Yuna smiles and laughs for a moment before playing with a strand of her hair.
"They go to the same school," You explain to Yoohyeon, "and they have a couple classes together. If Katie's late-night rambles are anything to go by, I think she's got a chance."
"A chance? C'mon, you have to be nicer than that." Yoohyeon says, and you begrudgingly agree.
"I guess I can be."
Yoohyeon gasps before grabbing your hand, and you bite your lip before shuffling a little bit closer to Yoohyeon.
"Look at them!" She points at the girls in front of her.
You see Yuna pull out her phone, and Katie takes hers out as well. They continue to talk as they exchange numbers, and then you see Katie offer her arm to Yuna. Yuna brightly smiles before accepting, and you hear the two girls laugh as they approach you.
"Hey, I'm gonna spend the day with Yuna! I'll text you when I'm headed home!" Katie happily says before waving at Yoohyeon. "See you later!"
"Have fun!" Yoohyeon calls out as the pair starts to leave.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do." You tease before watching Katie flip you off behind her back.
"What a charming kid! She really makes you believe in love, huh?" Yoohyeon asks as you focus on your interlaced fingers.
"Yeah, she does tend to have that effect on people."

Concept: IDW 1 D&D AU
Ratchet is a Cleric as the strongest among his healing class, but he struggles with the more esoteric nature of what he does, and often struggles to utilise more prayer-based healing methods
Pharma is the leading Cleric at his temple as a result of Ratchet's struggles, as Pharma is considered a devout practitioner with strengths in ALL aspects of healing
Drift is a Paladin who used to be a Rogue/Ranger/something along those lines, and they meet at Ratchet's healing temple when Drift goes on a spiritual pilgrimage and Ratchet is in the middle of a crisis of faith (in both his temple deity and his own skills; he worries if he can't fully spiritually connect, is he really a good healer?)
While Drift is visiting and participates in a reception of blessings ritual with other travellers and those undertaking pilgrimage, something goes awry, and the rest of the Clerics are possessed by some unknown evil-- Ratchet is spared, due to his connection to prayer being the weakest among the rest of the Clerics present, thus making it easier for him to break free of the ritual, and he pulls Drift out of it as well
It turns out Pharma was approached by another Paladin on a pilgrimage; It was Tarn, who threatened the reputation of their temple and manipulated Pharma into utilising a prayer from Tarn's deity to open the reception ritual, which ended up being an invocation of a dark entity rather than an actual prayer
Drift and Ratchet have to escape the temple-- Or, alternatively, they have to try to purify it, in an effort to spare the rest of the Clerics. (This would include Ambulon, First Aid, Hoist, etc.)
Ratchet, being connected to the deity of the temple by nature (even if it is a nature he doesn't fully accept at this point) is the best one to attempt purification, and Drift bolsters Ratchet's strength with his own powers of faith
With Drift's help, Ratchet is able to fully connect with the deity of the temple for the first time, and successfully clears the shadows of possession from the temple and its inhabitants/visitors/patients
Pharma is taken in by Paladin guards, while Tarn is nowhere to be found. Banished with the shadow entities, or simply escaped?
They want Ratchet to be the new leading Cleric while Pharma is held for investigation, but he declines as he is still shaken by having a purely spiritual experience that he can't quite integrate with his conceptualisation of faith or healing, so he leaves First Aid in charge before leaving with Drift to accompany him on the rest of his pilgrimage
IDK I feel like this could be interesting; Drift is secure in his faith here, while Ratchet can't reconcile the spiritual elements of his work with the physical, tangible elements of it.
Bonus: Since Drift and Ratchet are from different temples, they have different deities and different beliefs/spiritual abilities as a result.
A Paladin and a Cleric enter a small pub on the roadside, looking to rest after weathering a storm on their path. At the bar, there is a half-Giant who preaches to a crowd of Dwarves and half-Orcs, who raise up their steins and cheer...

Ok, Dungeons and Dragons au because I can. And because a mutual asked for their main stats and now im thinking thoughts. They've all got the pirate background unless stated otherwise. I'm also only going to give Buttons a race but I imagine that porting them into D&D would make them elves and halflings and the like.
So there's like a few parties going on here. There's Ed's original Adventuring party which has since split up:
Ed: Warlock, fathomless pact, pirate background, Level 17, Str: 11 Dex: 14 Con: 15 Int: 20 Wis: 19 Cha: 20; strong focus in illusion spells, his patron, the Kraken has protected him at pivotal moments but overall their relationship is antagonistic.
Jack: Rogue, Swashbuckler archetype, level 17, Str: 13 Dex: 17 Con: 18 Int: 8 Wis: 15 Cha: 20, Whip is his main weapon and he's not like other swashbucklers tm
Anne: Rogue, Assassin archetype, Noble background (fight me about it), level 17, Str: 8; Dex: 20; Con: 14; Int: 14; Wis: 12; Cha: 17
Mary: Fighter, Champion because it's the best one, Level 17, Str: 20, Dex: 13, Con: 16, Int: 12, Wis: 15, Cha: 9
Fang: Ranger, Beastmaster archetype (I'm sorry from the perspective that it is the worst ranger subclass but yay puppy), Level 17, Str: 20, Dex: 11, Con: 15, Int: 13, Wis: 20, Cha: 13, used to have a dog but it died and it was Eds fault that it died. Now his animal companion is a goat. The goat drinks rum.
---
And then there's the revenge crew who is yet another group, they used standard array and get a racial +2/+1 for my convenience:
Jim: Rogue, Assassin archetype, probably some homebrew raised in a cult background that I can't believe they haven't put out yet, or maybe haunted one but that seems wrong, Level 5, Str: 8; Dex: 17; Con: 14; Int: 13; Wis: 13; Cha: 10.
Olu: Paladin, oath of devotion, pirate also seems wrong for him but idk; Level 5: Str: 14; Dex: 10; Con: 13; Int: 11; Wis: 12; Cha: 15, the oath is of devotion to his family which is Jim xoxo.
Lucius: Eloquence Bard, guild artisan background which lists scribes; Level 5; Str: 8; Dex: 12; Con: 10; Int: 15; Wis: 13; Cha: 17
Pete: Fighter, not sure what subclass open to suggestions, Level 5; Str: 16; Dex: 13; Con: 16; Int: 12; Wis: 10; Cha: 8
Frenchie: Artificer (I feel like a homebrew subclass or alchemist), Entertainer background, Level 5; Str: 8; Dex: 10; Con: 12; Int: 17; Wis: 13; Cha: 15
Wee John: Eldritch Knight fighter, level 5; Str: 17; Dex: 8; Con: 12; Int: 14; Wis: 10; Cha: 14; The DM is letting him take a bunch of evocation spells because the base rules for this subclass are dumb as fuck (i know the spells are school locked i just dont remember to which two schools) he will be able to cast fire ball by 13th level. Let Eldritch Knight and Arcane trickster take whatever spells they want 2k24 rogues don't need to be more invisible they do need to be able to cast identify.
Roach: life cleric, level 5; Str: 8; Dex: 13; Con: 15; Int: 12; Wis: 17; Cha: 10; his god is a homebrew deity who is the patron of all things that refuse to die and its holiest creature is the humble cockroach and once they entered the temple and the dm pulled up a gospel cover of I'm a Survivor by destiny's child for background music.
Buttons: Druid, Circle of the Moon, Hermit Background, Hexblood lineage, level 5; Str: 12; Dex: 11; Con: 14; Int: 13; Wis: 17; Cha: 8
Swede: Bard, College of Glamor (mostly because I'm still not convinced his name wasn't stolen by the fey), level 5; Str: 13; Dex: 12; Con: 16; Int: 8; Wis: 10; Cha: 16
Archie: Barbarian, zealot, same background as Jim but a different cult, level (whatever they're at by season 2); Str: 14; Dex: 13; Con: 17; Int: 8; Wis: 10; Cha: 13 (plus an ASI presumably which would go into strength); Archie and Ivan have the same Player that's why Ivan died. Very sad. Oh well there's other fighters.
---
Miscellaneous
Zheng: Bard, College of Eloquence or College of swords, Level 17; Str: 9; Dex: 20; Con: 14; Int: 17; Wis: 12; Cha: 20; alternatively? Hexblade Warlock (to parallel Ed) and Auntie is the sword. Same stats if true
Spanish Jackie: Mastermind Rogue, criminal background (it's like a pirate background but less boat oriented), Level 15; Str: 10; Dex: 18; Con: 13; Int: 20; Wis: 15; Cha: 18; retired adventurer who owns a bar that the party doesn't find out has levels until they fuck around and find out in her bar
Ivan: Fighter, Champion, Level 10; Str: 19; Dex: 10; Con: 16; Int: 10; Wis: 12; Cha: 13; player got board of playing a fighter and didn't really flesh him out :(
Izzy: Fighter, Champion, Soldier background (no water vehicle proficiency), Level 3 (he has not leveled up in 8 years, very sad); Str: 15 ; Dex: 14 ; Con: 6; Int: 8; Wis: 5; Cha: 6; I actually rolled this one up. 3d6 no rerolls, no dice box, and if it falls on the floor it's a one. Believe it or not this is after the +2/+1 to any stat. Anyway I'm an Izzy apologist now. Yes he did awful things but truly how can we blame the little guy when his charisma modifier is a -2 and his wisdom modifier is a -3. He had no idea what was going on and he couldn't talk his way out of a wet paper bag.
Stede: Barbarian, path of wild magic, Noble background, level 2 (wow, he's only been adventuring for a few weeks and he's already leveled up!); Str: 17; Dex: 8; Con: 15; Int: 16; Wis: 11; Cha: 10; I also rolled this stat array but this time 4d6 drop lowest. Also he's taking the lucky feat as his first feat. Whether that's at level one because he's human or at level 4 because he's something else is up to interpretation.
