"The ego, is like a cloud. The sun cannot be seen on account of a thin patch of cloud; when that disappears one sees the sun. If one's ego vanishes, then one sees God." Ramakrishna

Sayings of Ramakrishna 233
There is always a shade under the lamp while its light illumines the surrounding objects.
So the man in the immediate proximity of a Prophet does not understand him. Those who live afar off are charmed by his spirit and extraordinary power.

RATING NANDAMURI TARAKA RAMA RAO JR'S MANSPREADS ON A SCALE OF 1 - 10
Tumblr media
Ramakrishna is BACK, and in is his saucy little devil form! Hookah?! All black outfit??!!! Shirt WIDE OPEN???!!!!! Bad Boy Ramakrishna sure is a sight to behold!
The VIBE here is IMMACULATE. Look at him!!! Just knocking his head back, blissed out in the sun, eyes closed, thinking of his own cock and where he's gonna stick it!!! It's so fucking good, I wish I was one trillionth as cool as this. The spread itself is nothing to write home about, but it’s alright! It’s serviceable.
Unfortunately, an objective analysis clearly identifies one unforgiveable flaw: Wet socks. I am devastated to not see bare feet, and I'm frankly horrified by the very concept of wearing socks on the beach. What's going on, Ramakrishna??? Why don't you put the hookah down for five seconds and take your damn socks off? Speaking of the hookah, I find it very distracting here. Look, it goes right over his crotch! Rude much?
FINAL VERDICT: 7/10

The album title "Ptah, The El Daoud" refers to the ancient Egyptian deity Ptah, who was believed to be the creator of the universe, and "El Daoud," which is Arabic for "the beloved."
The song title "Turiya & Ramakrishna" is named after two spiritual figures from India: Turiya, a Sanskrit word meaning "the fourth state of consciousness," and Ramakrishna, a 19th-century Indian mystic and saint.
(The fourth state of consciousness is sometimes translated as "pure consciousness." It is considered to be the source of all other states of consciousness and the underlying ground of all existence. In Turiya, the individual self (or ego) is said to be dissolved, and the individual becomes aware of their true nature as pure consciousness. It is described as a state of profound peace, bliss, and spiritual realization.)
"Turiya & Ramakrishna" features Alice Coltrane on harp and piano, Joe Henderson on tenor saxophone, and Ron Carter on bass. The track has been praised for its beautiful melody and improvisation, as well as its spiritual depth and exploration. It has since become a jazz standard and a signature piece of Alice Coltrane's body of work.

Alice Coltrane (1937-2007) is famous for her contributions to jazz music as a pianist, organist, harpist, and composer. She was a key figure in the development of spiritual jazz, a subgenre of jazz music that emphasizes spiritual and meditative qualities, and incorporated elements of Indian classical music into her compositions.
She married the legendary saxophonist John Coltrane in 1965, and played piano and harp on some of his later albums, including "Ascension" and "Meditations". After John Coltrane's death in 1967, Alice Coltrane began to explore her own musical vision, incorporating elements of Indian classical music, African music, and gospel music into her compositions.
In addition to her musical achievements, Alice Coltrane was also known for her spiritual pursuits. She became a devotee of the Indian guru Sathya Sai Baba and founded the Vedantic Center, a spiritual community in California. She also established the Sai Anantam Ashram in Agoura Hills, California, where she lived and recorded until her death in 2007.
Alice Coltrane's innovative approach to jazz music, her incorporation of diverse musical traditions, and her spiritual pursuits have made her a revered figure in the jazz world and beyond.
(Satchidananda refers to Sri Swami Satchidananda, an Indian guru who gained fame in the West for his teachings on yoga and spirituality.)

Ramakrishna said: "Those who seek nirvana are selfish and small-minded. They are full of fear. They are like those parcheesi players who are always eager to reach home. An amateur player, once he sends his piece home, doesn't like to bring it out again. Such players are unskilled. But an adept player is never afraid of coming out again, if by doing so he gets the opportunity to capture an opponent. Then he rolls the right number and returns home once more. It seems that whenever he rolls the dice, the right number comes up for him. So do not fear. Play without any fear."
I asked, "Does it actually happen?" The Master replied: "Of course it happens. By Mother's grace everything takes place. Mother likes people to play. Take the game of hide-and-seek. [There is a granny, there is a thief who is blindfolded, and there are children trying to escape being caught by the thief.] The granny likes to have the children run about and make the game go on. She may extend her hand to help a child so he will not be caught by the thief, if she thinks it necessary. Similarly, the Divine Mother is not really pleased with those who seek nirvana, for they want to retire from the game. She wants the game to continue. That is why devotees do not seek nirvana. They say, 'O mind, it is not good to become sugar. I want to eat sugar.'
[…] "The practice of excessive physical mortification and of harming the body in any way stems from tamas [delusion]."
[…] One of the gentlemen said: "Sir, this body is the root of all evils. If it can be destroyed, all troubles will cease." "The raw earthen pots when broken are made into pots again," the Master said, "but the burnt ones, once broken, can never be remade. So if you destroy the body before the attainment of Self-realization, you will have to be reborn and suffer similar consequences." "But, sir," the gentleman objected, "why does one take so much care of his body?" The Master answered: "Those who do the work of moulding, preserve the mould with care till the image is made. When the image is ready, it does not matter whether the mould is kept or rejected. So with this body. One has to realize the Supreme Self. One has to attain Self-knowledge. After that the body may remain or go. Till then the body has to be taken care of." The gentleman was silenced.

Sri Ramakrishna taught that all living beings were a form of God himself. Therefore, service to God can be represented through service to mankind.

“Kali is none other than Brahman. That which is called Brahman is really Kali. She is the Primal Energy. When that Energy remains inactive, I call It Brahman, and when It creates, preserves, or destroys, I call It Shakti or Kali. What you call Brahman I call Kali. Brahman and Kali are not different. They are like fire and its power to burn: if one thinks of fire one must think of its power to burn. If one recognizes Kali one must also recognize Brahman; again, if one recognizes Brahman one must recognize Kali. Brahman and Its Power are identical. It is Brahman whom I address as Shakti or Kali.”

Do you seek God?
Then seek Him in man.
His divinity is manifest
more in man than in any other object.
Look around for a man whose heart overflows with the love of God,
a man who lives, moves and
has his being in God
a man intoxicated with His love.
In such a man God manifests Himself.
wise sayings of Sri Ramakrishna

Sayings of Ramakrishna 217
No man keeps a total fast. Some get food at 9 a.m., others at noon, others at 2 p.m., and others in the evening.
Similarly, at some time or other, in this life or after many lives, all will see God.
