I think I might be the only one who prefers the Ramola Garai version. I absolutely love that version and that's the series which finally made me fall in love with Emma. I do agree that Emma doesn't appear as "elegant" in it as one would wish for, but that version humanizes her more. I admire something or the other in all Jane Austen heroines but I could not love Emma neither after reading the book nor after watching the other movie versions. But once I watched the 2009 version, I was a changed person, lol. I must've watched that series 10ss of times. I love it!
You are not alone! There are a lot of people who really love 2009, it's just not for me. I'm happy to hear it made you love Emma, 2020 is my that.
Here, I did a poll just for you on the Jane Austen Fan Club Facebook page, the question was most favourite Emma adaptation and they could only pick one:

Also, I think the most popular adaptation remains 1996 Gwyneth Paltrow which is my least favourite, so don't think I'm the arbitor of general tastes.
Honestly it's awesome that we have so many and they are all generally good. No Northanger Abbey 1987 or Persuasion 2022s among the Emma adaptations. They are all pretty faithful to the characters and spirit of the novel.

Emma Woodhouse in Emma (2009), episode 4.
I have been so busy managing everyone else’s heart, I do not know my own. For, if Mr Knightley is to marry anyone, that someone should surely... be me.

“The cost of oblivious daydreaming was always this moment of return, the realignment with what had been before and now seemed a little worse.”
Atonement directed by Joe Wright based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Ian McEwan

TRULY ROMOLA GARAI FOR BEST EMMA. Not to be controversial but Emma 2009 is superior. To what, you ask? Yes
Yes! I feel like the others don't even compare. Maybe it's the tone? Idk but I love it

I read this in college. Hated it. Absolutely despised it. Could not abide Emma, hated how impossibly perfect she was portrayed and how everyone around her fawned over her. Despite enjoying the Horrible Mrs. Elton, it could not outweigh how much I detested the rest of it. I tried watching each movie version, from Paltrow, to Beckinsale, to that BBC one with Ramola Garai.  Was as fussy and whiny as a 3 year old during all of them. But ... now there’s a new movie with an Emma I actually like. She’s vulnerable, authentic, and imperfect. In short, for the first time, she’s allowed to be human. So, after 40 (WHAT?) years, I’m trying to read it again.

Emma Woodhouse in Emma (2009), Episode 3.
Mrs Elton is an insufferable woman! Horrible, upstart, vulgar being with her “Mr E” and her “Caro sposo” and her carriages and air of pert pretension and underbred finery! Actually to discover that Mr Knightley is a gentleman and that the woman who brought me up should be ladylike! I’ve never met her equal!
