just bought me and my dad a bunch of books from the library (that were donated and were in p good condition) and a few ds games and a Wii game and gave them 5 dollars and the lady (has worked there for years v nice) said I gave them a lot so dad could pick out a few more (he didn't because he already picked the 20 something ones he wanted) and that makes me kinda said that they treat 5 dollars as a big donation

“disco elysium fans ignore the themes for gay ships” I am adding the crunchiest themes with my gay ship thoughts I could write a dissertation on mazovian yaoi already. I could say so much about what the game does when it thematically ties “communism” and “love”. from the mazovian socio-economics thought: “[communism] hasn't really worked out yet, but neither has *love*—should we just stop building love, too?”
I could say a lot about the extremely conflicted relationship that communism seems to have with raw human emotion, on the one hand it’s the foundation of everything. revolution is built on rousing up emotion, and the end goal is some kind of euphoria-utopia, phrases like “hope in work and joy in leisure” in the game remind you of that. the total fulfillment that is longed for and promised. the end of alienation is about emotion
but then there is a sort of terror that human emotion will cause reaction and undermine the cause and needs to be controlled, guided by a firm hand, manipulated, that it can’t just be let loose on the world. that it’s careless emotion that draws people away from the cause and towards the allure of other ideologies. intellectual rigor is needed to resist it all. critique, critique, critique
and love is one of the most terrifying and uncontrollable emotions, especially romantic love for another person. it’s such a deep form of interpersonal connection and yet it’s often destructive of a person’s true self in the name of an idealized image born of that intense emotion (and oh boy does disco elysium have things to say about that). it defies critique, it sings its own song, it blooms from within and overtakes all reason
lashing the themes of love and communism together, from the lurid tales of eight hour sex to the explicit and possible relationships between historical figures... war crimes committed not for the sake of power but in an achillean (in both ways) rampage, institutions and systems like décomptage being founded from a romantic partnership, characters whose passion for the cause is mingling with potential attraction and devotion to each other, the hanged man was killed by communism but love did him in—
it’s about emotion. in disco elysium, emotion is a kind of materialism

Just got this godforsaken ad on Instagram:
Tumblr media
Yeah, of course, the *checks notes* Ancient Egyptian lion goddess of destruction and retribution, totally who you want to be using for healing purposes. Ignoring the fact that Reiki is from a whole other continent and time period, I for one would love to heal my inner hurts by, let's see, oh yeah, going on a rampage killing like 80% of humanity in a pure bloodlust, and then getting so blackout drunk that I turn into a cow goddess. Sounds like just the thing!

Okay okay okay
So Hawks clearly isn’t giving up, right? He’s just not. That’s not who he is, so of course he’s going to keep fighting. With the panel of Hawks holding the sword, with the sounds of the Twice rampage in the background, it really seems like he’s not going to go down that easy
Hawks saw “Twice” come out of the portal and his reaction was this
Tumblr media
Total panic, right? He killed Twice for a reason - to prevent mass destruction from happening because, knowing Twice’s quirk and what side he was on (what side he was sticking to), he knew how chaotic the war could get. So seeing Twice come back? You can see the panic inside of him. This is not what he wants. We know he’s willing to kill “Twice” again
Fast forward to this chapter
Tumblr media
All other threats are gone. AFO is gone. There are no Villains or Noumu in front of him. Dabi has been taken care of. Yet Hawks still stands because there’s one more Villain that hasn’t been taken care of, and that’s “Twice”/Toga
While we could say he’s only standing here to protect Tokoyami from the oncoming Twice’s that will surely attack them once they spread further, there’s no way he’s not going to be involved with the Twice clones anyway. And I don’t think Hawks would just stand there and wait for someone to take down Toga - he’d probably try to do it himself
So I think there’s a possibility that Hawks could go after Toga and try to kill her before the clones can spread further. I also think there’s evidence to Hawks joining the fight and attempting to repeat history
Hawks has already been through killing Twice. There’s a chance he’s willing to do it again based on the fact that he’s done it before. Something along the lines of “I’ve done it once, I can do it again. Only I will bear the burden of it”. It’s not farfetched at all for Hawks to do so because he wants to spare anyone else from having to kill. “I am willing to be corrupted” and all that
(He’s probably ready to face Twice, to deal with the image of taking him down again, but could he do the same with Toga? With the reality that he wouldn’t just be taking down the image of Twice, but a young girl too?)
Also, the narration says that the Heroes cannot falter
Tumblr media
Who’s someone who won’t falter, no matter what the task? Who is willing to corrupt himself, willing to cover himself in blood for a brighter future? Hawks. I feel that the text is practically calling his name for him to enter. Also, the Todoroki’s are out for the count, Iida looks like he’s done too. The only Hero shown here willing to stand up and not falter is Hawks
There’s evidence for this Toga-Ochako fight paralleling with the Twice-Hawks fight
Firstly, Toga is on Twice’s side. She is quite literally Twice in this parallel. Someone who looks like him right now, someone who activated Sad Man’s Parade, someone who has shown care for members of the League in these moments
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Someone who, as chocolate-biscuit has pointed out here, has the same hole in her mask just like Twice did
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what does this fight also have in common with the Raid one? A third person is shown ready to fight
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dabi was the only one shown running towards the fight, and Hawks is the only one shown so far who is actually up and still willing to fight
The red sparrow dream
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That dream has always reminded me of Hawks, because of the specificity of the animal. It’s not just a bird, it’s a red bird. Red like Hawks’ wings. We know Hawks doesn’t have his wings right now, but also notice that the wings aren’t important to the dream - the type of bird is mentioned specifically, but the bird specifically uses its feet and its beak. Also notice that birds can represent the freedom to fly away, to escape, but this bird doesn’t use its wings and do that. Instead, it chooses to stay and inflict harm
I know this may just be a small coincidental thing, but still, I think there’s a potential for it to be connected to Hawks somehow
Finally, Horikoshi has said Ochako and Hawks are both “beacons of hope” in the final war arc. Hawks, who didn’t give up fighting against AFO and protected Tokoyami from getting his quirk stolen, and still refuses to lay down. Ochako, who won’t give up on Toga. She wants to save people from the Villains and the war but she can’t ignore a Villain’s cries either
How interesting would it be if we had both “beacons of hope” clash in their fights to protect and save people?
Of course, this is only a possibility, though I think it does have the potential to happen. I would personally love to see Hori dive into Hawks’ character involving Twice again, and putting him up close and personal with someone Ochako wants to save would be so interesting to watch
But, let’s remember that I’m theorizing based on 2 panels of Hawks lol. We’ll have to see what happens next, but again, it’d be really cool to see them all come together this way and fight against ideals and saving vs killing

Hello!I rlly liked the Elysia fic :D if your requests are open, may I request Herrscher of Sentience or maybe Fu Hua! Reader? (maybe w poe , ranpo , dazai ,yosano and higuchi? Its fine you can do any character you want though!)
Poe, Ranpo, Dazai, Yosano & Higuchi x HoS! Reader
Hiya Anon! And why not HoS mommy. You were once part of the Fire Moth organization about 50,000 years ago in the last civilization. You are one of the few people who survived against the Final Herrscher.
Later you became the guardian of Shenzhou, coming to be known as The Sage and devoting your life to eliminating the Houkai. However ... what if ... the Herrscher of Sentience were to make her comeback?
Tumblr media
EDGAR ALLAN POE:
Tumblr media
He thinks you are absolutely beautiful, but absolutely terrifying. He's interested in your past and the world you had lived in - it would make for a great novel.
But again, Poe is too nervous to approach you. Hell, even Ranpo wanted nothing to do with you.
So he sucks up the advice ...
But somehow ,, ends up at your doorstep, literally not knowing why he's coming right to you after wimping out. Like ... for the 17th time already.
You're not as bad as you looked, actually. You were pretty nice and tsundere when not trying to destroy the world.
So he found really refreshing, although, thinks you might just do some 360 and end up just fooling him into thinking you were a peacemaker. He's paranoid, okay.
Really like your HoS outfit though. It didn't look like the normal, but again, you were from a different world.
You sometimes talk about your years back in your home.
Poe listens so aggressively, taking down notes which he might be able to use for his own novel.
Most of the time, you guys get along so well. From thw times he's spent with you, you're actually cute. Whenever you get annoyed, you puff your cheeks like a kid.
Totally differemt from when you're pissed- literally all creation might get crushed then and there-
In the moment you were indeed, embodying the path of ruin and destruction, you were ... actually so scary. No one knew what to do.
The Port Mafia was unable to make a choice, in doing so, they'd be destroyed. The ADA ran out of options, no longer sure what to do. The Guild was wimping out lol.
Decay of the Angels? They sure live up to their name! Turned to dust and decay under your very hands! Pun intended
Poe only wishes you come back to him and solving crimes like you always did.
You better make up for it if you do end up admitting defeat because he is shitting tears.
He'll take a bit to get over it but he loves you sm. <3
Kiss him, hug him, literally hog all of his attention for the next few weeks and he'll be so happy about it. Come on now, get your priorities straight.
If you try to ever go on a HoS rampage this bitch fr might just get a heart attack-
"(Y/N) WTF WTF WTF WTF NOT AGAIN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NOT THIS NOT THIS–" :)
RANPO EDOGAWA:
Tumblr media
He literally cannot figure you out lmao so that's a job well done in my book.
Ranpo wouldn't know jack shit in all honesty. You're from a whole different world, possibly even GOD there. Herrscher? Elysian Realm?? ReveRSE CREATION WAIT WHAT
Please give him time to breathe in the information.
Mk but if you like sweets he definitely gonna share some, he's now interested in you.
You gave him odd vibes at first, and in the end he was technically not wrong. Bro knew you were no good since the start but man who is he to judge.
Ranpo and you are ... well, in a way to say it ya'll are dating but never verbally established it??
You guys decided to just start doing it LMAO
Everyone is so surprised. Like, "YOU NEVER TOLD US YOU WERE DATING WHAT?"
In other words you guys are basically acting like you're dating. In which, you are. But ya'll don't even care to officialize it like it is what it is 😭
But that aside, he reaaally thinks he shouldn't be around someone like you ... even if you're together.
He deduces that it will not end in his favor.
And Ranpo was correct. You are out for blood and for the death of their world, in which you don't care about even him when you did that.
He feels betrayed. Super betrayed, a little mad? You guys did so much together and damn repaying him with that.
But he does understand why you're doing it.
That anger may not be centered towards you but instead the others are pissed off mafia be like
Upon the destruction of everything, if you succeed, bad ending it is then. Everyone's dead, the world is decaying and you've made Fyodor happy ...
Except he's rejoicing in hell bc you killed him.
Ranpo looks at you like you were the demon satan itself, so livid and upset about what you've done. Guilty, a little.
If you decide to spare them some slack and don't succeed, well, Ranpo's here for you. Come on now, it's better off this way don't kill everyone wtf
He's the first to go up to you, pouty and wanting you to make up for your mistakes. Cuddle him or else I shoot
He doesn't understand the concepts sometimes, but as long as you're there with him, just eating away sweets and telling him interesting stories of your life, he's all for it.
Would 100% smash in your herrscher form
DAZAI OSAMU:
Tumblr media
I can smell the rizz a mile away
Okay, you're actually so chill. He respects that, unlike when you're out in a rage and turning people into Odasaku
You're not free from his teasing. You're like a second Kunikida he messes around with lmao. Except when he pisses you off he's actually running for his life–
"Don't you wanna die though?" "SHE'LL TORTURE ME I HATE PAIN AND SUFFERING"
Has the audacity to hide behind Atsushi. Now both of them are terrified and running while you cutely and respectfully, turn into Herrscher of Senti completely <3
Ends up dating you anyway.
For a bit, he'll take time to trust you because he finds it strange like Ranpo. There's something odd sometimes about your behavior he can't pinpoint himself ...
Ooh wait. So you wanna destroy the world. Ok.
He can understand why from all of his own experience, but wouldn't advise you to do that. It ain't smart of you, bae.
Your powers are actuallu very respected by him. He also finds it pretty and interesting! Will ask you a few questions and compliment you from time to time.
If you tell him stuff about your own world, he'll be somewhat interested in it too. As for how he knew ...
Dazai figures it out pretty easily, although it took a bit of time to realize you weren't from this world.
Not just that too. Basically, a Herrscher could be the same as a literal God. He's not all that scared but you're really full of surprises. He is not taking you lightly, though.
Knows you can literally reverse creation single-handedly.
But he doesn't want that. Come on now, dude wants to die but at least let him achieve the wish of marrying a pretty girl first before that :/
The pretty girl i'm talking about is you. "Belladona! Oh my, dear. Just stop whatever you're doing and return to my arms! I am lonely! So very lonely!"
He's technically not wrong
Everything in his willpower, he and the agency would find the best way to intercept with your plans.
They're here to save people, after all. If there's a full 100% chance they'll die – it won't matter. Push through. Gotta save all those lives before it's too late.
Good luck. Even though Dazai knows you can blow up the world with ur sexy self /j
But think again. If you're good enough a soul to stop your tomfoolery – all's well that ends well. Again, HoS is not evil but simply, a misunderstood individual.
Dazai will understand all of that. Okay? He'll just be glad you didn't turn everyone into toast.
But I guess he'll have to be careful not to piss his bbg off <3
YOSANO AKIKO:
Tumblr media
Great job because she's glaring at you literally every time you breathe, talk, or even sleep.
Yosano doesn't trust you at first knowing something's up, and by Ranpo's deduction – she trusts his judgement wholeheartedly and believes you're up to bad.
It would take some time for her to trust you.
After long, possibly a few weeks she'll start to change your mind. You often help around often, and you save their asses everytime with your strange "ability" if it's even one.
You didn't act as bad as you look, and were probably just a big tsundere, mind her.
At the end of the day, Yosano really liked you. AYY bestie takes you out to go shopping and you would pamper each other so much with slight complaining from you
Both of you are great partnered up in missions. You were already strong enough, not needing assistance.
Yosano is just supporting at the back with her healing.
And around the time when you started to grow distant is where she's growing suspicious again. All of that for what? She'll be really uneasy all of a sudden.
Peakaboo :) Guess who :) it's Herrscher of Sentience bitch
Knew she shouldn't have trusted you. But come on now, she obviously knew your times spent together was genuine. Yosano knew you didn't do this because you're evil.
But well, all have their reasons, and you do as well. Will not stand for it and will smack you into sense if necessary.
"GIVE MY (Y/N) BACK" "YOSANO- PUT THE BROOM AWAY-" "YOUR POINT??"
Girlboss saving her girlboss girlfriend.
Will not stand to leave you, literally comes out to go against you even if she knew she'll loose. If there's at least 1% chance you'll come back to her, she'll take it.
Got her chainsaw ready and all. Doesn't want to hurt you, but has no choice to kick ass lol
If you seriously choose to disregard your actions then she'll be so relieved. Atsushi super mega relieved in the corner
Honestly, don't be ashamed. They all understand. Even though some will take time to forgive you. It's not easy to forget things like this.
The agency will gladly let you stay. After all, mommy-
Jokes aside, Yosano is worshipping the ground you walk on and you do that to her in return. Literally two queens that aren't taking bullshit from anybody.
And you guys kiss sjsshj- dammit by bi ass is showing
ICHIYO HIGUCHI:
Tumblr media
I LOVE HER I LOVE HER I LOVE HER
Here we go, now it's much more fit. Let's just say they know stories about Herrschers and their existence about being born to destroy humanity.
You were once a normal human like them, but was cheated out of your life but then damn here you are.
A lot were intimidated, everyone probably. You can end the world with all your own hands. Reversing creation as you say, and being in the Port Mafia? HOO WHAT A DAY
Higuchi does admire you the more she learns of you. Really likes your chill personality when you aren't out for blood.
Fr you're just there standing and she's going "🥺"
Like in that episode with Akutagawa and Gin, she misunderstands easily and gets jealous – thinking that you're crushing on Kouyou, dating Chuuya, etc.
Please give this girl some attention. She wants to drown in your presence because you are just so mommy amazing
Whenever you activate your ult she is mesmerized. I mean, sure it's destruction and chaos but Higuchi is down bad for your strength and possibly, beauty.
Would try to train with you to get stronger, to be able to protect Akutagawa.
But hey, why is she spending more time with you than him-
Soon enough you realize she's smitten and probably forgot about Akutagawa's existence. AKUTAGAWA. HER forgetting about HIM?
Damn you are God.
Really tells you to go back on the decision. Think this through, are you really gonna destroy the world? What are you gonna do then?
It's most likely not all fun and games once you've did it. Higuchi is just a worried bbg.
Totally siding with Ranpo on railing you
Again, don't be upset about whatever it is. You aren't evil, basically – it's a misunderstanding. Higuchi sympathizes with you and doesn't hold a grudge.
Now ... kiss kiss fall in love relax and let yourself be loved.
I headcanon her being rescued by you all the time and she's too flustered to even say anything ... with those sparkly ass slow-mow moments as if you're her prince or sumn 💀

So you said a while ago that Harmburger had originated from a superhero concept, but you never got into it, so just have a bunch of unused villains and no good guys. Could you kindly show or tell us who these other ones were?
I think I basically just wanted to come up with a selection of whimsical-but-cool cartoon villains along the lines of those in the Powerpuff Girls. -So Harmburger was exactly as he is now, a mysterious entity in the form of a food mascot and otherworldly meat company that tries to encroach into our reality. -The "main" villain would have been the obligatory robot-building evil scientist, except his real body was only a broken skull.
-There was a crooked con artist or businessman type guy who could bend people to his will by showing them something (never seen) in his briefcase.
-A cartoon animal duo that causes real mass destruction with their tom & jerry routine but are completely unkillable.
-A villain with both a candy and bee queen motif on account of bees and wasps liking sugar. I also thought of her being a cavity-causing dentistry villain which would follow from the candy and from stinging but that still felt like one theme too many. -A goofy caterpillar guy but once he eats enough he can metamorphose into a totally new and different rampaging kaiju every time, maybe affected by exactly what it is he eats? Maybe too similar to Mr. Mind but I'd have tried to personify him a lot different, more like a friendly doofus who doesn't mean anything personal by what he's driven to do but still can't be talked out of it.
They almost all wound up feeling more like I came up with a bunch of creepypasta characters rather than superhero ones anyway though.

For the ask game: 1 and 13. Have a good day sir Achilles 🫡
thank you my friend 🫡 this is long. im putting it under the cut. for the record i have chosen achilles and patroclus.
the character everyone gets wrong
i could for real pick any character for this so im glad i've gotten this a few times. let's start with achilles though given the spirit of the ask and how deeply mad it makes me that people get him wrong so often, in so many ways, with such total confidence. the biggest and worst way is when people think he's bloodthirsty or cruel by nature, or when people think that because he acts with such callousness that proves he's a simplistic killing machine or lacks human emotions. to be clear this isn't a speech in defence - this is not about me saying he's a "good person", it's just that that's not the heart of why he's so violent and the distinction is important to me because it informs basically everything he does.
achilles is 1) is a hyper-competent fighter 2) feels emotions in a big way and 3) tends to externalise his sadness grief guilt etc as anger and then violence because it's easier to feel and to experience than all the other stuff. that, and the one time we really see him fight in the iliad is when he's going on a crazed rampage where he IS bloodthirsty and destructive. so it's really easy to look at that and conclude that he has no feelings or just really likes killing, because we don't see anything else. the rest of his character is implied rather than shown and it's really easy to miss. but for me the heart of why the iliad is so heartbreaking for achilles is that the rampage shows the breakdown of achilles' character, not the core of it. it's exactly so tragic because that's actually not who he is. it's not that he isn't violent or hasn't killed or that he has reservations about taking lives, but you can see in earlier events that something is different. for example we are told that achilles when he defeats enemy soldiers is actually perfectly happy to spare and ransom them rather than killing them, which tells me he doesn't fight to kill, he fights to win. that's not hugely different in terms of the outcome, given it is in a war context where defeat and death tend to mean the same thing, but it IS different from a personality and character perspective, because it tells us achilles is at worst indifferent to human life rather than actually being driven by a desire to take it. better? worse? doesn't matter, not my point - just different. and, actually pretty unique amongst all the soldiers we hear about. that makes achilles one of the less bloodthirsty soldiers in the iliad, even if he has one of the highest body counts of the army. diomedes, for example, and even arguably patroclus, are shown with more active bloodlust than achilles.
but that changes in the rampage. it's very explicit in the case of lycaon (one of priam's millions of sons) because achilles meets him in the rampage and we're told that achilles has actually captured him once before and chose then to ransom him. lycaon supplicates him again this time and begs for his life once more. achilles then tells him that before patroclus died, he preferred to spare trojan lives and ransom them, but now that patroclus is dead, things are different. then he kills lycaon. so here we see the change. achilles used to fight to win, because he had no active desire to destroy or cause pain, he just didn't care if that happened on the way to achieving glory. he was driven by victory, pride, vanity, even the fun of fighting. but now patroclus is gone, so he's driven by guilt and grief. he fights to kill. he doesn't do that out of heartlessness or callousness - he does it out of pain. what i'm saying is that when he's out there taking lives, it's not because he has no feelings, it's because he feels too much. hence, the breakdown of his character: the rampage is achilles at his absolute lowest moment lashing out in the only way he can figure out how to do, and it proves that whatever achilles is, he's not a simple killing machine.
just pausing my diatribe to add that there's a lot more to this! the violence thing is just one example. people sometimes see him as cold and unfeeling or simplistic because of the way he reacted to agamemnon and briseis, the fact that he is willing to turn on his own people, the fact that he won't fight to save their lives - all things he does in great selfishness with really tragic and significant consequences, but also all way more complex than they appear from looking at it. if i start on why the "sulking in his tent" thing pisses me off we'll be here for like ten years and you'll need a horse to escape me. i'll just leave it. you gotta trust me.
back on the bloodlust: it's really significant that patroclus is the turning point, because patroclus plays a key role in grounding achilles to humanity and all aspects of mortality. once patroclus is gone, that moral center is gone too, and we begin to see the breakdown of this half-divine figure into a character so struck with deeply human emotions he can't figure out how to hold that he ironically can't maintain his humanity anymore. there's a lot going on and it makes achilles an extremely complex character with very complex feelings, so it drives me absolutely up the wall bonkers when people see him and go, oh there's the guy who fights and kills a lot, he was really mean when we saw him, he sulked in his tent and has no compassion, let's just reduce him to a simple fighter who only cares about himself and that's the end of his motivation. there's a lot of bad things you can say about achilles and have them be perfectly true. he's very selfish and very proud. but he's definitely not a simplistic, mindless, bloodthirsty warrior. that really misses the point of him.
13. worst blorboficiation
okay let's talk about patroclus.
there's this fanon phenomenon that happens a lot with female characters, especially where they're the only female character (or only feminine character) in a group of otherwise masculine figures. it's a very particular kind of girlbossification that turns them into a hypercompetent mom friend who always has their shit together, is secretly better at everything (especially fighting) than all the Guys, and likes to roll their eyes at how immature and silly Their Boys are! i don't need to name examples. you know. you Know.
it happens to male characters too, though, in specific circumstances. they usually have traditionally feminine skill sets and they're often noted for being maternal, caring, or kind. as if to compensate, fanon tends to aggressively exaggerate their competence in all areas. patroclus in the song of achilles was famously portrayed as not very battle-ready, which yes is characterisation i did not like, but a lot of iliad and patchilles people REALLY REALLY didn't like it and now everyone makes a REAL POINT of pointing out how competent patroclus is on the battlefield. and he IS! HE IS! i think, though dont quote me, he has the highest named body count in the iliad. so like, you will never see me arguing against the idea that he's an extremely strong and competent warrior and that his compassion is a choice rather than a product of weakness. im firmly in that camp and i could go on about it all day. but it came with this whole host of Sassification where suddenly it wasnt just that patroclus is one of the best greek soldiers, it was No seriously guys, Patroclus is a BOSS XD. Also, he's the one holding the braincell. He's really sassy and sarcastic and he has Achilles whipped. Etc. Etc.
which, the same way this irks me when it happens to female characters, just annoys me so much. it kind of lessens the impact of how legitimately great and unique patroclus is as a character because it feels like a constant defence against an argument that isn't even necessarily being presented, at least not anymore. when you're constantly trying to make a point with reference to the idea that everyone thinks the other point is true, it weakens the point. patroclus is great. he's one of the best greek soldiers. he can wreck shop. he's exceptionally kind and he's known for being compassionate and caring, which is super significant to the iliad's narrative and themes. i love him. he does NOT have the brain cell. if he ever had it, apollo knocked it out of him the second or third time he tried to climb the same wall he'd just fallen off.

I've never stopped gushing over your super dad post where his baby has wings, and I'm just going crazy over the thought of yandad Bruce Banner with avian/bird person/winged bby. Cause just the symbolism of a delicate winged person and the hulk, how soft and easily crushable they are and how unfathomably strong the hulk is, how afraid Bruce would be to hurt them while still being totally obsessed in the most gentle way possible
I love this so much, anon, you have no idea!
First things first, I can’t help but love the image of the winged!darling perched on the Hulk’s shoulder. Like, the Hulk would absolutely adore having them sit, lay, stand or even just drape themself on his shoulders. He’d get so sulky and jealous if their darling were to do that with anyone else, even if it’s not exactly in the same manner as it is with him he’d still have a problem with it.
I like the idea that winged!Reader first meets Bruce while he’s in his Hulk form, probably fighting something or at least on a destructive rampage. He tries to attack them only for them to touch him so gently and gingerly, speaking to him so calmly and softly that it halts any action he was going to take. Maybe it even causes the big guy to back down leaving room for Bruce to take over again and once he does he’s greeted with the sight of what he believes is an angel.
Bruce would very much view winged!Reader as an angel or something completely ethereal and pure. Something he’s not deserving of being in the presence of. Meanwhile, Hulk sees them as something oh so fragile and vulnerable, in need of protecting and fending for (even if they are powerful in their own right). Bruce is utterly terrified by the thought of Hulk trying to touch winged!Reader and boy does he try to, especially the Reader’s wings. Hulk is fascinated by them, he finds them captivating and he desperately wants to stroke them, to know what they feel like.
Bruce would really grow obsessed with the Reader if they weren’t fearful of him, treating him like some time bomb about to go off. He’d really be drawn to how graceful and gentle they are, especially in how they interact with him and the Hulk. When they touch him or are just anywhere near him he can’t help but feel light and airy, like a weight has been lifted off of him. It’s something he’s not use to, something he’s never experienced before and it’s addictive. They make him feel calm and at peace but that may just be his own mind given that he’s under the impression that they’re in fact an angel or something of the sort and it’s feeding into that concept.
If anything were to happen to their winged!darling, any harm, even if it’s the smallest injury or god forbid their death, Bruce and the Hulk would absolutely lose their damn minds and go berserk. Anyone or anything in their vicinity would be decimated in the carnage caused by their rage and grief. Nothing would be able to stop the Hulk and anything/anyone that tries is in for a rude awakening. The most precious thing to both of them, their most treasured person has been hurt or worse, it may as well have been an all out attack on them and they’re going to retaliate worse than ever before.
Oh god, the thought of Hulk cradling the lifeless body of their precious darling while surrounded by the chaos and carnage of everything he’s destroyed around him. Especially if he were the one who ended up killing their own darling, whether by accident or through mind control. He and Bruce wouldn’t be able to take it. How could they possibly go on without their precious bby? Especially if they perished by the hands of the very ones who promised to protect them at all costs. Bruce wouldn’t be able to forgive the Hulk or himself, meanwhile the Hulk wouldn’t be able to forgive himself either. I don’t think they’d ever be able to bounce back from this or that they would ever even want to.

Stigma Effect - By Dowi (9/10)
Tumblr media
Power. Lies. Fake prophets and magic infected by corrupt science and money. Experimental babies. Human sacrifice. Cannibalistic love. Evil bisexual princesses. Scary monsters. Dreams of death and destruction and insanity. This love story is totally consumed by war, and it's pretty great.
Uriel is the personal maid of Duke Mogris. She has been living apart from him for seven years, and she cannot stand it anymore. She loves him selflessly. She doesn't care if he marries. She just wants to serve him.
Tumblr media
When she gets on the next train she has a dream. A realistic one where she is killed by a monster. Uriel has the ability to predict monster attacks. She's very useful. Mogris knows about her ability, but he doesn't let her use it because he really cares about her. He would rather sacrifice his own men in war. Anything is better than using her, but she's coming, and her power is quickly noticed by the other army commanders.
Tumblr media
Uriel has to stop the train before it crashes into a monster horde. She wakes a man. His name is Helio. He cuts his own head and he pretends to be a hostage in order to stop the train. Then he points his gun at Uriel. He makes her confess. She cracks and tells him about her powers. Big mistake. He's an army commander just like Mogris and he's not generous enough to send her home.
Tumblr media
Uriel discovers the truth. Her master is more perfect than she thought. He has fused with a monster core in order to become more powerful... somehow...and he is a Saint! He is a hero. A sign of hope in an endless war. Monsters can only be destroyed if their core is smashed. If it isn't the monster regenerates. Monster cores are an enormous power source. People use them to light cities, and ambitious scientists want to use the cores for...more totally legal and not evil stuff.
Mogris is totally a hero and he doesn't struggle with mania and the desire to eat the woman he loves.
He totally didn't leave Uriel because he almost killed her several times.
Tumblr media
Uriel discovers most of the truth. Mogris became known as the Saint because everybody else died. Plenty of Paladins signed up for the chance to become stronger, but they had to give up or die. No one else can withstand having a monster core in their chest. Why? There's a really horrible reason why, but she doesn't know that yet. She sees that Mogris must be monitored by an entire team, because his body is unstable.
Mogris refuses to marry Uriel or return her feelings because he's afraid. He's been acting perfect, but he's crazy jealous and he has lurid fantasies about hurting Uriel. Her tears literally turn him on.
Tumblr media
Enter the princess.
The princess makes Mogris start acting crazy. Princess Ithaca is crazy, but she does care about the future. She wants to tame monsters and use them as labor beasts. She wants to create a world without menial labor. She invites Uriel to the palace to test her. Uriel arrives in a fine dress, but then she is dragged away.
Tumblr media
Ithaca tells Uriel she must use her premonition sense to kill the monsters in her garden. Ithaca traps and experiments on monsters. She doesn't care if Uriel dies. Only the most useful people deserve to be beside the princess. Mogris sneaks in to assist Uriel, but in the tense situation Uriel learns how to use her powers faster. Her prophecies usually end when she dies. Over time she learns how to activate her ability to sense monsters in a less...insanity inducing way. However, without Mogris she probably would have died in the garden.
Mogris goes on a rampage when Ithaca tries to recruit Uriel. He destroys the temple Ithaca was trying to use to control the first ever batch of enslaved monsters. He will not allow Uriel to be used by anyone. He makes the princess his enemy forever when he destroys the temple.
Tumblr media
Helio and an inventor named Baraha are kind of secondary love interests. Mogris and Uriel are in love, but that doesn't mean the other men don't have feelings. Baraha is also, weirdly, a sociopath of some kind. He's a brilliant inventor, but he doesn't like being alive. He met Uriel when she was suicidal, after Mogris left her. He starts to wish he was Uriel's childhood saviour, not Mogris.
I'm sure that won't be relevant later.
Tumblr media
The princess is kind of a sick woman. She tries to use an aphrodisiac on Uriel, because she controls her allies with lust and pleasure. Mogris is hit by it instead, and he reveals his more possessive side. He also ties up Uriel, and he doesn't ask permission before he sleeps with her. This leads to the most confusing part of the story. Their feelings are mutual, but Uriel thinks his crazy actions are all because of the drug. She cannot believe he loves her back.
So...he tells her when he's sober and not licking her tears...and they get together...and they have a great time...and they are a supportive and loving couple.
Tumblr media
Another commander, who is an asshole, decides to hypnotize Uriel while Mogris is away. He's a great villain. Very annoying. Very handsome. He controls Uriel, but not in an obvious way. What he's doing is clearly wrong and he seems to want to experiment on Uriel. Her monster detection ability is insanely useful, and he wants her to be a weapon too. He uses her body like a puppet, while Mogris is still unaware of the subtle brainwashing. Uriel isn't brainwashed %70 of the time. Asshole just takes the wheel when he needs her. Mogris will probably solve the mystery soon and destroy him too, but who knows.
This is a highly unpredictable, violent story. Uriel and Mogris are both deeply obsessed with eachother. It's a fun dynamic, because the rest of the characters are jaded by love or lovers of lust. Mogris would be pure and perfect, if he wasn't literally part monster. Yup. That's why he survived the core experiment. His parents did weird shit years ago, and he was born with the potential to be the best fighter in the world. He is now, actually, but his monster blood is a problem. Uriel is the real Saint, and he is constantly bothered by the lusty urge to torture her/lock her away/drink her blood/choke her etc.
So that complicates things a little.

TFA GrimFire Idea in which young Decepticon Misfire decides to follow his hero Lugnut on the "long shot" grief mission that was the search for Megatron post funeral only he's delayed because he has to escape the rest of the Scavengers wanting him to be reasonable. He crashes and lands on Dinobot Island, meets Grimlock, Swoop, and Snarl, who reacue him from the ocean. Between the three of them, they try to figure out how to prepare Grimlock's "pretty bird" who tells fun stories and has games and Misfire is totally enchanted by these cute little guys. They may be big for Autobots but they are still small to him.
By the time Krok manages to sneak out a ship and track him down with the other Scavengers he's calling him "Grimsy" and Grimlock has declared him Queen of Dinobot Island and has sworn he'd go on a quest to find Misfire's missing Leader to "prove himself" because he asked Prowl and Bulkhead about marriages and things duringbtheir last visit.
Prowl and Bulkhead, meanwhile, are trying to cover up the dino shaped destruction from Grimlock's search for parts to repair Misfire.
Oooo aww yes!
Tfa Misfire would be such a treat because he's a menace but also he's a menace.
Grimlock has become attached, and Misfire has dethroned BA
I say as if BA cares anymore
Sdfg oh Grim. yes. Marriage is your first thought.
And of course a rampage is in order

Some more thoughts on 'Morality Pets Redux'
Link to original post.
ONE still blows me away by how clearly he differentiates between manga and webcomic. There's a tradeoff that he respects: if the webcomic is short, sharp and to the point, then the characters have limitations in how they can interact, try things out, and grow. Conversely, if the manga is long to the point that it can take a long time for it to get to some sort of point, the characters have more scope to find themselves. He treats both versions with respect and if there's no scope for characters to change themselves, then they don't. Which is why we have two great stories to read! :D
There's no point in Tatsumaki changing in the webcomic because there's no one willing to have her in their lives. She's been so toxic that all Fubuki wants is to be left the hell alone, and even Saitama's gone 'eh, I've lost all interest' after she rebuffs his attempts to reach out very rudely. She notes that she ends up driving everyone away, but she's far from actually accepting that she needs to change. Tatsumaki in the manga has positive reasons to change -- she has a sister who wants to get along better with her. Doing so means accepting both her and the people around her, even if it's difficult and there are legitimate challenges. It's a hard pill to swallow but she's trying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really appreciate the difference between regretting the consequences of one's actions and being prepared to change one's actions. So human. If feeling bad about our actions was enough to change them, there'd be no anti-addiction or dieting services, counselling would be rare, and prisons would be all but empty.
Tumblr media
In both versions, Genos is the guy who wants ultimate destructive power and is willing to even kill himself if it'll take enemies to Hell with him. However, for a guy who is so committed to destruction, it's striking that he's cut to the quick when Sonic taunts him saying that he can't protect anyone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's no scope to explore this seeming contradiction in the webcomic. We need to accept that hey, he has places where he won't go and that's fine. The manga has more space, so ONE can dig into the protect vs. destroy issue and have him have to make decisions about what he actually values. The despair that lanced through him when victory slipped through his grasp when fighting Elder Centipede says so much about what matters:
Tumblr media
Something @carma-tjol said in their tags really added a lot to my understanding: they pointed to the link between Genos seeing himself as having value and changing his outlook on heroes from assets to people. It added so much salience to Fubuki refusing to run away and risking her life to save him because she didn't abandon her people. She really challenged his outlook.
Tumblr media
I like that he's still wrestling with himself after the fact. Had King not come when he did, it'd have been a lose-lose situation: Tatsumaki would be dead anyway and the monsters would be free to rampage over the land and kill millions. He needed to hear Saitama telling him he'd done right to feel a sense of peace. It's very human -- it's hard not to look back even when we see that we've made the right choice.
Tumblr media
Come to that, there was something that we'd (okay me and the small sharing circle of mutuals who talk too much about Genos) had been fearing: that Saitama would just note that Genos was broken again, the way he had in the webcomic. Remember this thread? It very nearly came to pass but for King intervening and vouching for Genos so that Saitama had to change the way he saw his disciple. Thank goodness.
If King hadn't been there, because Genos is actively questioning himself, the outcome of Saitama seeming to be dismissive wouldn't have been mere depression. It'd have been total despair. What Genos would have heard is that he's weak and lacked the guts to follow through on his committment to destroy enemies even if it meant killing himself. Talk about a tragic misunderstanding! Blessedly, ONE meters his angst -- it doesn't do to crush all your character's hope in one go.

This may seem like dumb, or a missing detail, kind of question but, I love you teen wolf studies. So, why do you think the Agents actually came back to town? I know it's believed to be because of the Alpha\peter situation but, the timing doesn't make sense. On the other side given to details we learn in later seasons The Hale's never actually left Beacon hills. They owned a fair amount of property, and peter had an estate, for them to just leave it to the void. But, with the same information we know the Argents did. So why did they come back? Or was it just a crazy coincidence?
Tumblr media
First off, I want to preface this with saying that I cannot possibly have my usual level of confidence in this meta. There is simply not enough evidence for a definitive conclusion, so take it with a grain of salt.
The first thing I feel we have to do is separate the Argents. The entire family did not return: Chris, Victoria and Allison returned before the start of the show. My proposal is that their return had nothing to do with Peter's rampage. Kate, on the other hand, did come back for that reason. I think instead the Chris and Victoria moved to Beacon Hills as a next step in their plan for Allison to have as normal a childhood as possible before being let in on the family secret.
In my opinion, Chris and Victoria were very deliberate in trying to give Allison an opportunity to discover who she was before the supernatural reveal without leaving her completely defenseless before it. Allison had been surreptitiously trained in archery, in gymnastics, in self-reliance and in self-discipline long before she discovered that werewolves were a thing. In doing so, Victoria and Chris avoided the trap I see often in stories like this where parents shield their children from the world they know so much they leave them totally unprepared for it.
So why Beacon Hills? I think there were three reasons. First, Victoria and Chris may have wanted to give Allison a chance to decide for herself, but they were still hunters. Chris was aware of the presence of a Nemeton; he was aware of the town history. After all, as he tells Stiles in Code Breaker (1x12), "I hate to dispel a popular rumor, Stiles, but we never did that." Beacon Hills was always going to be a hot spot after the destruction of the Hales, even if Chris didn't know the whole truth. Secondly and on the other hand, I feel they choose Beacon Hills because they thought the greatest danger had passed. The Hales were gone, and Deucalion had moved on. They didn't even know that Peter was in a long-term care facility. They remembered that Allison would be the heir to the Argent matriarchy if she chose to be, and as Victoria scolded Allison "there are others outside of this family who are not ready for you to see it." When they were ready to let Allison into the secret, this would be a place where werewolf activity occurred but it would no longer be the "deep end," so to speak. That's a whoopsie!
The third reason is, what I feel, the most important reason. While Victoria and Chris may not have known the details of the Hale Fire, the death of Alexander Argent, or Deucalion's blinding, they did know enough to believe that Gerard and his protégé Kate weren't interested in coming back to Beacon Hills. Chris yells at Kate "Why are you back here? You hate this town. I had a network of names I could've called a lot closer than you. But you called first." Gerard hasn't seen Allison for 14 years at the start of Season 2, and it took him two days to arrive after Kate's death. I think Victoria and Chris moved to places that they felt Gerard and the rest of the family would avoid without looking like they were avoiding them.
Again, this is all speculation on only the thinnest of evidence. But I don't think we can say it is a 'wild coincidence.' The Argents had been here before; we saw Chris and Gerard hunting for Derek in Visionary (3x08).
There is, of course, another possibility. Perhaps -- and this is speculation without any evidence except supposition -- Peter's emergence from his coma didn't coincide with the Argent's return. It was caused by the Argent's return. Victoria and Chris had agents in key civic institutions. We see a deputy and an ambulance driver. Maybe someone carrying wolfsbane entered the long-term care facility and triggered Peter's awakening. A possibility, but unprovable now. In any event, it's not something Scott would ever know or ever want to investigate, which is why it simply wasn't discussed. And that's good enough for me.
