HOLD THE FUCK UP
we all were laughing at slimecicle’s little “i mean slime i mean slime i mean slime” bit but after todays epiosde and looking back on that scene….
look at his face
Tumblr media
his face is falling from that smile his eyes are getting distant he’s looking more and more panicked the longer he’s glitching and then there’s a moment where he seems to snap back into himself and then he gives a smile to the camera before it’s quickly moved to the next scene where it’s passed off as a bit
charlie was slipping out of the mind control

Ranboo saving Charlie while he was streaming is the direct reason Charlie died I'm not okay
Ranboo said in their stream today that there were two choices that he actively made without the audience's input. One was choosing the security code on his own, and choosing to save Charlie from the brainwashing. Obviously using the wrong code stuffed it all up (which released the wire monster) but they said that because of the time it took to pull Charlie out, by the time they reached the doors the showfall media employees were locking them. Which eventually leads to both Ranboo and Charlie's deaths, and almost mirrors the final choice of episode three, choosing to live but be under showfall's control forever, or to die, only it hadn't been realised yet.
also SNEEG!!! The poor guy tried to get out and get help again but never made it, and died alone (because of Ranboo’s choice, ouch). While showfall probably wouldn't have allowed it but a storyline where he did make it out would be insanely cool.
Another thing, while the theory that showfall kidnapped Charlie as a kid and raised him to be their entertainer is very cool and has a lot of potential, I don't think that's the way the story would go. Showfall was(is??) going to use Ranboo until he no longer had any use to them, like all of the other actors, combined with sneeg's death suggests that raising a child and creating a whole personality and audience for slimecicle would be overly complex when they could just take people who have already done the work for them. The slimecicle channel is canon to the genloss universe now, and they likely would have had Charlie continue to stream to keep up appearances like he's not missing. Also, when ranboo finds all the streamers he recognises Charlie by name, suggesting they knew each other before showfall got to them, because iirc the name Charlie is never used in episode 1 or 2. And there is surely enough history between the two for Ranboo to want to save him, but recognises that he can't save everyone. That or he just felt bad for ripping the man's guts out.
Anyway, I have Too Many Thoughts about Generation Loss and desperately want to know if Charlie and Sneeg are dead dead or if they'll be coming back for more generations because they were both so good in this series.

conclusion of generation loss: holy shit. Holy fucking shit. It was insane, the slow rise to horror, suffering, and gore ? Ranboo's job was insane, seriously it was sick. Their acting skills, which I've seen several people bash, was really good, you could see how dedicated he was ! And the ending, with the VHS, opening to the probability of more, I got the chills. Seriously, they did a sick job, and I'm so glad I was there to witness it through my screen.

I am so distraught that Ranboo thinks we wanted him dead you don't even know.
He had no idea that when the vote began, majority voted for them to live. He has no idea when we realised that life meant Ranboo being trapped, we tried (AND ALMOST SUCCEEDED) to go 50/50.
Ranboo will probably never find out or realise that when he asked for us to kill them, we swayed the vote because we wanted to help them, to let them choose something for once. He thought that we chose death because we wanted to see them dead WHEN WE DIDN'T.
HE THOUGHT WE HATED HIM SO HE DIDN'T TRUST US

Hey guys guess what happens when an anatomy student becomes obsessed with Generation Loss. Basically I have thoughts about how the mask works. Closeups and image description below the cut.
Image Description: Drawing of Generation Loss! Ranboo standing with their back to the audience. Closeups of their face in the top left corner. Handwritten text reads;
Electrodes inserted subdermally hidden under mask. Current running through electrodes controls facial muscles for manipulation of facial expression and speech.
Wires enter mouth and run down throat to electrodes. Control muscles of tongue and larynx to manipulate speech and other vocals.
Signals sent remotely to plaque (on the back of Ranboo's neck) where they are routed to relevant wires and electrodes
Wires do not stimulate intrinsic hand/finger muscles, which is why Ranboo is able to tap SOS.
Wires travel outside of body, fibres insert into particular muscles to electrically stimulate them.
Wires to body follow general pathways of major motor nerves to skeletal muscles. Basal random voltage and frequency inhibits motor neuron input. Need motor neurons to function for Day 3 The Choice - requires Ranboo to have conscious control of his body.
No wires along sensory pathways. Ranboo is fully aware of everything happening but cannot express themselves.
Wires start just above C1 spinal nerves. Do not influence brain activity or cranial nerves. Ranboo sees and is aware of everything, thus the "I SAW EVERYTHING" and tapping SOS.
Wires hidden under clothes to prevent suspicion.
Make cc!Ranboo's burns canon to Generation Loss? Malfunction of wire lying along spine, possibly meant to stimulate muscles of the back? eg. erector spinae. Causes "odd" changes in posture. I just also think it's cool and messed up if they're in pain but physically cannot express it. End image description.

okay okay okay something i saw that i havent seen anyone else talk about is the sequence of shots when sneeg gets dragged back in and "reprogrammed" (for lack of a better word while still missing information).
Just about everyone ive seen talk about how intense and revealing that scene is focuses on the shot with sneeg in the foreground and the puzzler in the background, and the majority of takes ive seen say something along the lines of "he's in shock, he knows something is wrong, and all he can do is stare at sneeg getting put back" but here's the thing: thats not it!!
it wasn't something i noticed till it ended - not really - but they weren't staring, they weren't in shock. They were paused.
The Puzzler is mid-comment, the victims were all still begging and sobbing, and ranboo has his hand on the controls with the carousel spinning- and then Squiggles popped up with only the message "Please hold." and everything goes silent. And then sneeg starts screaming.
We see the carousel stop, we see ranboo with their hand on the controls, and we see the Puzzler frozen in place with his mouth still open mid-remark. Even the Rats dont move. All of that is pretty quickly skipped over and forgotten as the focus is on sneeg's recapture, reprogramming, and reinstallment.
Then the shot that pulls the most attention, sneeg in the foreground and the puzzler in the background with the focus alternating between them. we see the producer that placed sneeg leave the set, then another shadow cross the scene, then a few more beats to allow the other producers to leave the set... and then everything comes back all at once.
The carousel starts moving again, the victims all start sobbing and begging all at once, the Rats continue to hop around, the Puzzler finishes his exclamation and moves away from the cage, and ranboo finally shifts his weight.
I wont pretend to know what exactly all of this means. However, i believe it shows exactly how much control Showfall Media has over the production so long as their "characters" have not broken free.

not sure if all of this is purposeful, but i’m watching jack manifold react to genloss and his observations of all the ways the games cater to children are really interesting. he points out that sneeg says he can’t read, charlie swallows toys and that it all seems to point to them being frozen in a childlike state, perhaps the age at which they were taken and enlisted by showfall.
add to that the carousel, the sweet room, playing dress up in the closet, the toy room, even the overall setting of a mall points to a commercial, family if not children’s entertainment emphasis. even the slime replacing the blood is a la nickelodeon (think katy perry’s near assassination at the kids’ choice awards)! and i know ranboo jokes about being a ‘pg13 family friendly streamer’ but i think it’s telling that the moment he chooses to finally swear is the moment the veil is lifted and the façade of family friendly entertainment is shattered. it makes sense that a manipulative institution like showfall would be catering so strongly to their most impressionable audience in the same way that it has been shaping the minds of its own characters, perhaps since their own childhoods.

so genloss is all about breaking the 4th wall right? right. when ranboo wakes up he realises that there is no 4th wall. every time the stream ‘glitches’ we’re seeing through to whats actually happening, we’re seeing beyond the 4th wall and potentially so are the characters (im looking at u sneeg). the mask is what keeps the 4th wall in place for ranboo, but thats not where it ends. the breaking of the 4th wall doesnt just stop with the characters.
what im loving about genloss is the psychological horror and how well and uniquely its handled. its fairly clear at this point that ranboo is not in control of their actions, but has been able to break free/has tried to break free at multiple points. showfall media is the one in control, not ranboo.
but thats not where it ends. genloss is a live show for a reason, and that reason is chat. without chat, genloss would not be able to be what it is. throughout the stream there’s things to do; buttons to press, decisions to make, pipes to rearrange. they exist for a reason.
the first episode was relatively tame compared to what we’ve seen since. options were things like ‘where should i look’ and ‘what wacky device should i use against the guy made of slime’ (i could probably write a whole other post about the connotations of blood and slime but that is For Later). those choices dont seem in spirit with something advertised as psychological horror. the entire first episode was kinda... tame honestly.
theres a reason for that. think back to the inauguration video chain. the first question was harmless, cats or dogs? it got you used to the mechanics of the ‘game’, made you familiar with the concept of ‘pressing buttons’. the first episode serves the same purpose; desensitise chat to pressing buttons, so when the decisions switch from ‘where should i look’ to ‘who do i leave to die’ all they really see is a button, without any real consequences. it’s just a button, we should press it.
showfall media isnt just manipulating the characters, its manipulating us.
what i found really interesting is jerma also being able to manipulate the controls, as such, when he solved the pipe puzzle. it established that chat arent the only ones able to use these controls, and i fear what it’s going to bring. i think that showfall is going to start rigging things in their favour, but we won’t be able to tell. one person alone cannot tell what thousands of others voted in this scenario, so there isnt a way to tell that the vote was rigged from the start. and it gives showfall such an easy way out. chat voted, thats what they wanted. we are going to be tricked into ‘wanting’ what showfall wants, ‘doing’ what they want us to do, even if we’re not the ones with the masks that connect to our fucking brains.
there was never any 4th wall. we’re just as deep into this as ranboo is

Hi so I really don’t want to think about the possibility that Frank is a real actual dead body and we are seeing him as a plastic skeleton because of the Showfall filters keeping his real form hidden.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't think gl!ranboo really died
I mean sure, we did iron maiden their fucking head and he sure LOOKS like he's dead, but gl!Charlie literally got his organs ripped out of his body and gl!Sneeg got eaten by our monster creation. If Hench can bring them back after gruesome murders, he can DEFINITELY bring Ranboo back too
I don't think our hero is saved yet.

Genloss Theory #2
More Theories
Well, back again back again! Here for another theory. This one is a bit more solid and may be accepted as canon for all I know but I’ve seen some debate. Keep in mind, this is my personal theory, it may be completely wrong.
So, we all remember the scene in Episode 3 when Hetch has “died” and Ranboo stabs an employee only for wires to come out instead of blood. The generally accepted understanding is that the employees bleed wires. Which does make sense but I’m here to offer a possible counter explanation. He’s just not seeing the blood.
Earlier in the episode, Ranboo and Charlie find an employee who was killed by Security:
Tumblr media
Clearly he’s bleeding real blood and not wires. There is the argument to be made that he simply hasn’t been under Showfall’s control long enough to be filled with wires but I have another idea: this is what really happened and when we saw the employee bleed wires, that wasn’t real.
We already know, based on Ranboo’s stream, that the video turning more cinematic is meant to show that Showfall is still in control and Ranboo just no longer sees the cameras. So, what if the employee who bled wires was actually bleeding real blood but Ranboo was back under control enough to only see wires? It would explain the discrepancy between this employee and the other.
Just like how, in Episode 2, Charlie “bled” slime because everyone’s perception was controlled by Showfall, the employee in Episode 3 bleeds wires because Showfall is exerting their control again.
That’s my theory anyways, could be wrong. If anyone has anything to add, feel free to comment or reblog!
