Part of me wonders if this SL is actually about teaching Callum a lesson. Putting him in Ben's shoes in a way. Ben being attacked and Callum being unable to protect him and then having to suffer the consequence. 🤔 Maybe they're trying to be like "see Callum the trauma of having someone you love destroyed by evil isn't something you just get over."

Malleus is the type of guy who doesn't mind being the big spoon or the small spoon, It honestly depends on his mood. whenever he's feeling down he just wants you to cuddle with him and wrap your arms around his bigger frame... it makes him feel secure, safe, and loved (it also reminds him of his younger days when his grandmother comforts him by spooning his small frame and patting his back). but whenever you're the one who's having a tough time he always makes sure to do the same to you and whispers sweet comforting things to your ear as he hums a lullaby, lulling you to sleep as he pats your hair gently.

Malleus often wraps his arms around your waist and squeezes it a bit just to hear you laugh because of how ticklish that is and he loves to listen to your cute laugh <3 (it doesn't matter if you have a gruff voice or a squeaky laugh or even similar to a car window swiper laugh. he loves to hear it anyway)

Malleus always makes sure to take off his gloves whenever he holds your hands because he wants to feel your hands and how different it is from his. it also reminds him that he's not alone and you're still here with him even though he knows that you'll disappear someday because you're a mortal and he's immortal. love is a bittersweet thing after-all.

Malleus adores your and his nightly routine. the way you always tell him about your day and other things you find interesting today without any fear in your voice, he loves that. it reminds him of how you aren't scared of him even if you already know his reputation and what the other students spit out about him. sorry about that last rambling post, i didnt mean to sound like its worse than it may be, but i got no ... lense to view it through but my own, and the main reason i wrote it out anyway was bc i needed to get it out (even if posting it might be not the greatest idea) .. and bc it kinda showcases, i think, how my stories kinda write themselves, involuntarily in a way? its not like im not putting in any effort- but its like .. i cant STOP it always keeps going and even the dumbest idea stays in some form, its very hard to get everything in place bc theres so much going on all the while i am very slow at making anything, writing or drawing anything, especially anythign coherent is very hard bc not only do i get constantly distracted, i get distracted by my own thoughts suddendly skipping to a certain scene and me having to go throguh imagining in detail NO MATTER how many times i have done it before for the same scene that i already decided on how it goes, when theres a new idea it can take over my entire day bc i cant let go of it-

not trying to sound either like im the only that has that sort of problem, but i think its a big part as of why i start tso many projects without being able to finish them, or even start them bc i constantly have to fight my own thoughts from derailing into another daydream session, thinking of too much too fast than i can ever draw or even write about and not knowing what is worthwhile and what isnt (im telling you i have no idea what is good and what isnt, idk why but for all i know all things i do could be trash, or they all could be bad, maybe the one i thinnk is decent is actually worse than the things i deem not good enough and once i start to think no this isnt good enough i stop having fun making or thinking it bc im trying to do better

honestly its kind of impressive that i can get anything out at all, not to pat myself on the back there but even if i hate how long it takes me, considering how much im having to work just to start working on something at all, the fact that i could post stuff coherent enough for some people to understand AND LIKE is something i should be a little more proud of

I just realised something

Realisation under the cut:

Ok so basically I was sitting directly in front of the fire we have in our living room and I just realised that the warmth does not penetrate into your body straight away, but it kinda just warms up your clothes which in turn warms you - but that takes time for the heat to actually get through the layers of skin.

Which then means that if someone has hypothermia, and / or has extremely cold body temperature, in older times when the fire was seen to be the best source of heat, your skin would just feel like it's burning, and your body freezing.

Cuz the warmth is going on the top layer of skin, and your body is extremely cold - it's like having really cold hands then putting them straight on a hot radiator. They hurt so much, but they'd hurt more the colder they were, right?

So then you get whumpee, bundled in (possibly sodden) blankets in front of the fire, in shock from the cold and therefore unable to tell Caretaker how much it hurts, how much the warmth feels like boiling water scalding their skin, and doing little to actually warm their freezing body.

So they're just forced to sit there, and wait for the chill to eventually be replaced with stuffy heat from the flames.
