I’m obsessed with RansomxReader in You’ll Never Go Down to the Gods Again, can you tell me some sweet things Omega does for him that he goes absolutely soft for.
Adore you, adore your writing, I hope you’re doing well and staying cozy 😘
Aww, I mean, everything bunny does is pretty fucking sweet, especially since she was raised to be the perfect, breedable housewife.
One of the things that makes Ransom absolutely melt though is when she washes his hair. They always bathe or shower together once they’re bonded, and bunny loves taking care of him, and the way he just purrs and rumbles and chuffs once she starts massaging his scalp makes her so happy. He always holds her as close as possible while she does and there’s a ton of intense eye contact and deep breathing and it really makes Ransom feel that he made the right choice in mating her.

Family Affair
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ransom DrysdalexBlack Reader
⚠️: Harsh words from a very despicable family, fluff
“No, absolutely not.”
“Ransom come on-,”
“I said no and that’s my final answer,” he states attempting to return his attention to the newspaper in his hands until you pull it from his grasp. Standing in front of him with arms crossed, he sighs knowing you were far from letting the topic go.
“Ransom I’m not saying you have to give away the Beemer. I’m just saying we might want to look into getting a more family friendly car that a child can actually fit in comfortably.”
“What about your car? It’s fine.”
“You’re right it is. But poopie isn’t always going to be with me, which is why your car should also be safe for them.”
“You know, we’ve been going back and forth about this yet we haven’t even asked the person who’s gonna be riding in the car,” he replies scooting forward, gently grabbing your sides coming closer to your recently visible bump. “What do you say? You think daddy should retire the Beemer?”
Ear pressed against your stomach, you fail trying to hide your giggle as he pretends to listen to your unborn child.
“They said that they see nothing wrong with daddy’s car. Oh and they would rather you not call them poopie.”
“Fine Ransom, do whatever you want about the car,” you sigh giving back his crumpled paper before moving to step over his leg. You feel his grip tighten as you’re brought down to sit on his lap and his lips peck your neck.
“Alright alright, if it’ll make you like me again I’ll look into another car. I’m telling you now though, I’d walk everywhere before I buy a minivan.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” you laugh. “There is something else I want to talk to you about though.”
“Hmm?”
“...I think it’s time to tell your parents.”
His body tenses under you and jaw clenches as he now focuses on your stomach with thumb gliding back and forth over your belly button. Every time you brought up anything dealing with his family that tended to be his reaction, silence paired with an unspoken disdain as if you mentioned his worse enemy.
“Y/N you know how I feel about that.”
“I know but it’s their first grandchild-,”
“It could be their 10th grandchild and I still wouldn’t want them near us.”
“I just don’t want them feel like they missed out on anything and then get even more pissed.” Hands caressing his face, you kiss his lips before meeting his intense blue eyes.
“See how you’re thinking about their feelings? Actually being a decent human being who’s caring and beautiful inside and out? They’re nothing like that and exactly why I don’t want you, or our child, in the same room as them.”
“I get you’re looking out for us, but I’m a big girl. I can handle myself.”
“I’m not saying you can’t but Y/N, I’m telling you my family is not the kind where you can warm their cold hearts like some kids movie. I just hope you fully get that.”
“I’m not expecting them to join hands and break out in song like they’re straight out the sound of music. I just want them to know Ransom,” you answer.
He still didn’t want to do it, but he could see your point. The least you both could do was let them know so they couldn’t turn things back on you saying you hid their grandchild from them. Releasing a long breath through his nostrils, he lowers your hands kissing the inside of your wrists.
“Okay, we’ll tell them. But that’s all they need to know.”
“Okay, and you try not to worry,” you smile resting your forehead against his. “Everything’s gonna be fine.”
“For both of your sakes, I hope you’re right,” he responds rubbing your belly.
———
The entire car ride to his grandfather’s estate, Ransom was quiet staring straight ahead at the road. He was irritable the whole morning as he trudged back and forth throughout the house getting himself ready. This followed in the car where he simply turned on the radio not uttering a word and leaving you watching the autumn trees pass outside. You know it was all due to his nerves for what was to come and wished there was something you could say to instantly reassure him. Instead though, you simply took his free hand in yours kissing his knuckles.
It was a small gesture, but you wanted to show him you were there.
“Thank you,” he speaks just above a whisper gently squeezing your hand back before placing it on your thigh. Soon after, an older yet well kept looking house became closer in sight causing you to awe in its vintage beauty.
Really calling it a house wouldn’t do it justice. It was like a mini mansion with all the windows that lined the second level and reminded you of a small section of the hogwarts dormitories from the pointed rooftops.
“It’s not as great as it looks,” he says parking the car. “It creaks so loud you can probably hear it outside, gets drafty at night, and some of the furniture has that stale smell you can’t seem to get rid of no matter what you do to it.”
Guiding his chin to look at you, you lean closer capturing his lips with yours as his hand finds the back of your neck holding you close until both of you need to breathe.
“Try to relax, okay?” He nods with a soft smile letting you go so you both can make your way towards the front door.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me. It was only supposed to be my parents and grandpa, not the whole family!” It wasn’t until now being halfway to the front steps that you both noticed the extra cars near the front of the house.
“You’d think they’d respect this one wish-,”
“Hey it’s okay. Yea we have more of an audience now, but we’ll be fine. Maybe somehow this’ll work out better for us?”
“Darling you really are too naive at times,” he sarcastically smiles.
“And you can be the biggest grouch I’ve ever met, but I still love you,” you reply mimicking his expression before kissing his cheek as he chuckles.
His arm barely extended enough to reach the knob before the door swung open revealing a middle aged man with white hair and a style similar to Ransom’s from the sweater under his open fleece jacket and jeans over deck shoes.
“Good thing you still look the same after a year or else we wouldn’t know you at all,” he states with arms crossed in front of him.
“Hello father, lovely to see you too.”
“Still as sarcastic as ever too. And who do we have here?”
“Oh I’m Y/N, nice to meet you Mr. Drysdale,” you sweetly smile holding out your hand which he shakes with an amused look painted on his face.
“So this is the special guest we’ve been waiting on,” he grins. “And please call me Richard.”
“Speaking of I thought we agreed it was only gonna be us. Why is the whole family here?”
“Walt came by to talk business with your grandfather so of course Donna and Jacob followed behind. Joni came when she found out everyone else was here because she didn’t want to be ‘left out’,” a lady not far behind Walt in age explains, heels clicking against the hardwood as she approaches the door in her mauve colored suit looking every bit as rich as you’d imagine someone to look. “Richard are you gonna let them in or keep them outside the entire time?”
“Oh sorry, come in,” he motions stepping aside letting the both of you enter.
Although a bit cluttered with the eccentric knickknacks collected by the family over time, it was still just as beautiful inside as it was out, if not more.
“So I’m guessing you’re here to tell me you’re playing house with my son?,” she asks taking a drink from her glass.
“Um well technically yes, but-,”
“Jesus let them sit down first Linda,” Richard shakes his head leading you to the couch as Ransom follows close behind. Of course being the stranger in the house all eyes were on you as you sat down. “So Y/N, what’s your poison?”
“I’ll actually just take water, thank you.”
“Joni, Walt, Donna, Jacob, this is Ransom’s guest Y/N, Y/N these are Ransom’s aunts, his uncle, and youngest cousin,” Linda points respectively before sitting in front of you with legs crossed.
“So what do we owe the pleasure of this little visit Ransom? Need more money from Harlan to do God knows what on some private island?,” Joni chuckles sipping from her wine glass.
“Actually my business here is with my parents which has nothing to do with neither of you leeches,” Ransom quips placing an arm around your shoulder.
“Oh very classy. Y/N I may not know you, but I’d really advise you to get out from under this one as soon as you can,” Walt replies sitting on the arm of his wife’s chair.
“No ‘may not’, you don’t know her, so what makes you think you’re in the position to give her advice of any kind?”
“Okay boys enough,” Linda interjects with a raised hand. “Ransom what’s going on?”
In perfect timing, Richard walks in setting your water down in front of you before sitting in the empty chair next to a waiting Linda who seemed like the type not liking to do so.
“Go ahead,” Ransom whispers in your ear giving a reassuring nod as you sit up a bit straighter with hands clasped in your lap.
“Well, Linda and Richard, we wanted to meet with you to let you know that you’re gonna be grandparents.”
Just staring at you unimpressed with your announcement, you feel your stomach sink disappointed in their lack of enthusiasm or any reaction really.
“Here we go again,” she lowly grins swallowing the last of her brown liquor. “Listen honey you seem like a nice girl, but do you know how many of that boy’s ex’s or random hookups have come here saying the same thing expecting a check from us?”
“Unlike all of those other girls, which it was only four, she’s serious,” Ransom adds.
“Four too many if you ask me,” Joni mumbles.
“Well no one did so why are you still here?!”
“Mrs. Drysdale-,”
“It’s Linda or Mrs. Thrombey-Drysdale dear,” she corrects refilling her glass.
“Linda I’m not here looking for some handout. I just wanted the both of you to know that Ransom and I are expecting so you’d be in their life.”
“How do you know it’s his?,” Richard asks causing both you and Ransom to turn your heads looking as if he’d cursed you using every word under the sun.
“Excuse me?”
“Like Linda said, you seem like a nice girl but we have to make sure we’re not just falling for the innocent farm girl routine here.”
“Plus with you kids now and your wild live free ways, it’s a valid question I’d say,” Donna states making your blood boil to levels you’d never experienced before.
“Yes Ransom is the father. Would you like me to tell you where and when we had sex too so you can add it up yourselves?”
“Hey no need to get an attitude with us,” Walt says trying to calm an apparently offended Donna. “As you know this is a prominent family with assets we’re just trying to protect. Plus think of our patriarch. Bringing all this drama to him in his old age and with his ailments might send the poor man to the hospital.”
“Look I understand, trust me I do. But Ransom is literally right here with me which should be proof enough everything I’m saying is true.”
“And it would be if we knew Ransom wasn’t money hungry and trying to make sure his inheritance was still intact,” Linda says peering over her cup.
“I started my own writing company with the money I had left getting NOTHING MORE from grandpa. I literally said screw my inheritance before I stormed out last year and never came back!,” Ransom yells becoming more frustrated as well.
“People’s minds can change,” Jacob quietly speaks making you scoff before standing up to walk out the room.
“Oh, and before I go,” you start, lifting your sweater just enough so everyone could see your bump. “It’s a real bump. No fake belly or anything if that was the next question.” You didn’t give anyone a chance to say anything more, not even Ransom to stop you from leaving, before you rushed out the room through the kitchen to wherever your feet would guide you.
“Couldn’t leave it alone could you?,” Ransom sighs.
“Well maybe we wouldn’t have to do all that if you would’ve kept it in your pants in the past!,” Linda shouts as Ransom just shakes his head.
“All that booze is really getting to your head,” he chuckles to himself standing to his feet. “Those other girls all came by themselves, wrote letters, or emails claiming those things. Not one did I sit there with them letting them spew lies because I KNEW THEY WERE LYING!”
“Well if this one’s so different, why has it taken a year for us to meet her?!”
“BECAUSE OF THIS!! This dysfunction I’ve had to deal with that I didn’t want to subject my wife or unborn child to!”
“Wife?,” everyone asks at the same time looking as if he’d just grown a second head.
“Yes, my wife. We got married six months ago.”
“Jesus, Ransom,” Richard groans running a hand over his face. “There was a prenup involved right?”
“She offered to sign one, but I said no. Because unlike your marriage, we can trust each other.” Pushing past his father, he follows your steps through the kitchen and eventually out to the enclosed veranda hearing your sniffles.
“I know. You’re here to tell me I told you so and how being a grouch isn’t a bad thing because it avoids your feelings getting hurt,” you softly speak looking down to your belly as your hands cradle the small protrusion.
“No,” he answers sitting beside you kissing your temple. “I just came to check on you.”
“I’ve calmed down, but I just want to go home and go to bed. Oh and you were right about this place being creaky.”
“I’ve told them these floors need to be replaced,” a deep voice announces startling the both of you. The elderly man slowly makes his way to the chair across from you sighing in content as he sits down. “So I hear a new member of the family will be joining us soon.”
“Yea, around May or June. Grandpa this Y/N, my wife. Y/N this is grandpa Harlan,” Ransom introduces as the two of you shake hands.
“Nice to meet you. I apologize for my children’s behavior, they can be-,”
“Rude and outright inconsiderate,” you interrupt quickly slapping your hand over your mouth realizing you just said that out loud. “I’m sorry, it slipped out.”
“It’s quite alright, and in fact true,” he chuckles. “Don’t worry about them though, if you both need anything at all just let me know.”
“That’s nice of you gramps, but this baby is our responsibility. We don’t need any assistance.”
“That’s very commendable of you two, but I don’t want that child going without anything he or she needs to save your ego. Just know I’ll personally be here to help any way I can.”
You could see why Ransom always wanted to be by his grandfathers side. He might’ve had his stern moments from the stories you heard, but overall he was caring and actually gave people chances rather than immediately dismissing them. It made you wonder what happened to the rest of the family for them to turn out so different.
“Thank you Harlan. We really appreciate everything, but especially you just being there for us,” you smile walking over to hug his shoulders making the old man chuckle being caught off guard by your affection.
“You’re very welcome. And you little one,” he directs toward your stomach, “yes you’re coming into a, well...complicated family, but you have the power to determine what reaction your name brings. Whenever you need to be reminded of that, your parents and I will be here.”

Ransom’s Heir
Dark!Ransom X reader
Rated: M
WARNINGS: Non- con, Smut, Breeding, mentions of drinking and drugs, language 18+
This is written for the fabulous @sherrybaby14‘s Challenge! Congratulations girl!
Plot: Ransom wants an heir quick and you are just his type to produce his.
Tumblr media
You sighed to yourself as you flipped through the channels on TV. “Why is there never anything fucking good on TV anymore!” You said turning the TV off and tossing the remote aside.
You were asked by your good friend Ransom Thrombrey’s mother Linda to watch their house while they were gone for the weekend.  Linda was your mother’s best friend so you knew the family since you were 5 and you only got along with Ransom, his mother and grandfather.
“Wonder if they have anything good to drink around here.” You said out loud to yourself.  You thought you were by yourself when you hear: “Only the best Y/N!” A familiar voice from your childhood you knew so well said.
“Ransom, you just scared shit out of me!!” You said gasping.  “Sorry!” I didn’t know anyone was here.” Ransom said smirking as he hung up his coat and keys.
“Your mother asked me to watch the house until Sunday.”  You said as Ransom took you too the small locked cabinet in the kitchen.  “I see.”  Ransom said. “She didn’t say you’d be here.” You said as he unlocked the cabinet.
“Had a change of plans.”  Ransom said. “It’s snowing really bad on the highway into town and they’ve closed the main road up here.”  “Supposed to be a bad one!” Ransom poured your drinks into 2 shot glasses.
“Oh great!” You said sighing.  Ransom knew you didn’t like winter that much except for Christmas.  “So it’s just us here in this house!” You didn’t notice him putting something else in your drink. “Cheers Y/N!”  You both gulped down the shot.
You went back to the couch and Ransom followed you.  He smirked as he looked you over. “What the hell are you smirking at?!” You asked a moment later.  “How gorgeous you turned out to be and what a beautiful mother you’d make to my children!” Ransom said as he sat down next to you. He started to put his hands on your chest.
“Ransom! What a perverted thing to say!” You tried pushing his hand off but he was stronger and you were starting to feel light headed which was weird since you only have had one shot.  Ransom grinned.  He pinned you down on the couch!  “Ransom Stop it!!”  “You will have my heir Y/N” He had you down by his knees and was undressing himself.  Soon you were both naked.
“Please Stop!” You cried as he felt your breasts. “I cannot wait until these fill with milk and see your belly swell!”  Ransom said lining his cock up with your entrance.  He started thrusting and you cried out.  “I’m going to do this to you until you are pregnant!  The drug I put in your drink will make sure of that!” Ransom said panting. Tears started to fall down your cheeks. “Many children for us Y/N!” Soon Ransom moaned. He twitched inside you and you felt his warm cum explode. “My good girl.” “Cannot wait for our child!” Ransom said. placing his hand on your stomach. He was still inside you. It was going to be a long weekend.

Taken By Ransom
Hi! So this is my first ever Tumblr post! This is a Ransom Thrombey x Reader story. SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE ARE PRESENT!!! If you don’t wish to be spoiled, please don’t read it! Thanks for those who do read! Typos may be present as well!
Warnings: Dubcon (eventually), Noncon (eventually), Murder, Knives, Inappropriate touching, cursing
Tbh I’ve never done warnings before so if I’ve missed anything, please let me know! Okay on to the story!
“Ugh”. This is the sound you made as Ransom held you up against the wall. You had come to the Thrombey manor at the behest of Fran, only to find Ransom waiting for you on the other side of the door. The rest of the Thrombey’s were at Harlan’s funeral. You didn’t attend because you had to take care of your sick mother. Funny; you took care of an old man during the day, and when you got home at night you took care of your mother. Except you hope not to kill your mother as you had Harlan. It was an accident but still the end result was giving Harlan the wrong ejection. You tried not to show any of this on your face as Ransom’s hand tightened on your throat, almost cutting off your air supply.
“Listen you little bitch, I know what you did.” Your eyes widen slightly as your heart beat increases. You try to remain calm and not panic. “I..I..I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just came by to see Fran. Where is she?” You set a determined look on your face. He smirks and looks behind him. You were so busy on focusing on the man choking you, you had failed to realize the unmoving body of your friend.
“Fran?” You call out timidly. She doesn’t move a muscle. Ransom slowly lets you go as you run to her. “What happened to her? What did you do?!” You angrily glare at him while bending down and trying to find her pulse. Ransom just keeps staring at you, smirking as panic set into your features. “ I’m calling 9-1-1.” You pull out your phone. Suddenly, Ransom runs up to you and swipes the phone out of your hand. You start to protest when you watch in horror as Ransom throws your phone on the floor and steps onto it, breaking it into multiple pieces.
“What are you doing?! We have to call an ambulance for Fran!” Ransom chuckled as he lowered himself down to your height. “Oh sweetheart, I’m the one who killed her. Why would I want the medic to come and save her?” You gasped in horror and started to cry. “You monster! Why would you do something like this.” He leaned forward as you leaned back. “I know what you did to my grandfather. I also know that he’s going to leave everything to you in the will. I’m not letting that happen. So here’s what’s going to happen baby girl- you cringed at the nickname- your going to give up all of the inheritance to me. I will make sure no one suspects you of Fran’s death. I’ll also make sure your mother is taken care of. All you have to do is do everything I say and give me everything I deserve. Do you think you can do that for me?”
You slowly start to stand and walk towards him till your chests are touching. You put your hands around his neck as he puts his hands on your waist, smirking. Leaning up to his ear, you whisper “As you like to say Ransom, ‘Eat shit’.” You shove your knee up into his groin and watch him clutch his manhood as you scurry up the stairs. You run like hell, trying to run up the stairs as quickly as your legs could carry you. You run into Harlan’s old room; one you’ve frequented many of times. Slamming the door shut, you run to the dresser and push it in front of the door. If that didn’t work, there was a secret door located behind the wall next to the door. This passage led back to the front foyer, across from the front door. You held your breath as you heard distant chuckling. “You know Y/N, I was going to be a gentleman, but now you’re mine. And when I find you, you’ll pay little mouse.” You could hear his footsteps up the stairs as he started opening doors. “Not in this one.” You heard a door slam and flinched. “Not in this one either.” You heard the slam next to the room you were in. “Maybe you’re in this one.” You saw the doorknob turn to your room. Hearing laughter again, you turned towards the secret passaged and opened it up. “Last chance to give yourself to me little mouse. Though I do so enjoy this game. At first, I just wanted the money. But now, seeing you so terrified and stubborn, I want you too. I’ll make you obedient and rich. Well it’ll be my money, but if your good, daddy will buy you anything you want. Come on little mouse, I know you don’t care about anything but your mother. I promise I’ll make sure she is well taken care of.”
You roll your eyes. You don’t trust him as far as you can throw him as the saying goes. You slowly and quietly start to descend the secret stairs as you hear Ransom keep talking about how great it would be if you were his girl. You roll your eyes again. Ransom had always been a bit of a creep. Since you took this job 3 years ago, when you had been 18, he had always had a way about him. Yeah, he was a rich brat who lived off of money he hadn’t earned. He was also a notorious playboy and always had his eyes on you when you were around. He would always stare obsessively and try to touch you inappropriately at family functions. You always brushed it off because he was always drinking at these events and it never escalated from a brush of a hand here or there. He also rarely came by for such events.
Although at Harlan’s 85th birthday, you had felt his eyes on you all night before he had abruptly left after speaking to Harlan in his study. He has looked at you as a cat would a mouse, calculating on how to eat you; when, where, and how. You thought of all this as you descended the stairs. You made it to the end and slowly opened the door. You looked around and didn’t see him. You saw the door in sight. Unfortunately, you had failed to hear the silence upstairs as you quickly ran to the front door, only to be snatched at the waist when your hand hit the knob. You struggled and screamed as you felt a cloth go over your mouth. Panic start to set in as your struggles increased. You heard deep chuckling as you started to see black at the edges of your vision. “Finally, I caught you little mouse. Don’t worry. We are going back to my place for a nice little chat.” With that sentence, your mind faded to darkness as Ransom carried you, bridle style, to his car.
Well hope you enjoyed Chapter 1! I hope to post Chapter 2 soon! Let me know if anyone out there likes this!

Stupid Roses
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ransom DrysdalexBlack Reader
⚠️: None, just some soft!Ransom feels💕
Reaching the middle landing of the floating stairs, his hands grip the metal railing giving an impressive view of his toned arms in his baby blue short sleeve shirt as he shakes his head at the sight below him.
“I thought you were supposed to be watching the game with me?”
“I will,” you sit up from your comfy position, bringing your boyfriends cashmere blanket down from your face. “I forgot the Bachelor comes on tonight though, so when this goes off I’ll come upstairs.”
“The Bachelor? You mean that God awful show about women throwing themselves at some random guy and claiming they love him on the second day?”
“For someone so disgusted by it, you seem to know quite a bit,” you smirk.
“Only because I had an ex who was obsessed with it,” he answers descending the staircase. “That’s all she wanted to watch day and night.”
“Aww was someone jealous?,” you pout.
“Ha! Definitely not. She deleted a golf tournament I recorded so there’d be more room for some announcement special, and that was the last time I ever spoke to her.”
“So, I take it you won’t be watching with me anytime soon?” A deep chuckle vibrates through his chest leaning down to brush his lips against your ear causing a shiver to run down your spine.
“Princess, I’d rather go on a week long vacation with my parents,” he whispers against your skin before moving to kiss your neck.
“Fine, but it’s not that bad if you give it a chance.”
“Yea okay,” he snorts before disappearing in the kitchen to get his new box of Biscoff cookies.
Leaning over to pour yourself a glass of wine, your’re quickly sucked back into the tv screen now showing the remainder of last nights rose ceremony that left on a cliffhanger. You’re not too distracted though to not notice your boyfriend’s looming figure slowly make his way back to the staircase with eyes fixed on the formal looking man holding a single red rose, and the camera switching between those who had yet to receive one.
It took every ounce of willpower in you to stifle your laugh hearing him quietly curse one of the steps he tripped over being so entranced with the previews of the next date.
Throughout the episode, those long, “secretive glances would continue during his journey back and forth from the kitchen getting chips to counter the sweet taste in his mouth. Then a beer. Then napkins to clean up said beer when he tripped over the same step once again.
This is how you both ultimately ended up on the couch with the game being long forgotten. You, sat between his legs holding the half eaten box of cookies and bag of chips, and him draping an arm in front of your chest pulling you closer to his broad chest as you discussed your thoughts on the contestants.
“So far my faves are Kelly, Sarah M, Traci, and Lara. I definitely feel like they’ll make it close to the end.”
“Hm okay,” he nods. “And which ones are they?”
“Sarah M is the one in the black, floor length gown there. Then Lara is in the yellow- ugh, why would he give a rose to Veronica?! What does he see in her, no one likes her! All she does is cause drama.”
“And she has no sense of style. Where’d she get that dress from, the side of the road?,” Ransom adds, nudging your cheek with his nose so you’ll feed him a cookie after getting one yourself. “No wonder she chooses violence.”
There’s a comfortable silence as you both continue to watch the rest of the evening play out and girls become frustrated when they feel they didn’t get enough time before being interrupted. Gazing at the side of your face, a small smile forms on his lips watching your features scrunch and react to the different sets of interactions being shown. While he wasn’t one for trashy reality shows, he’d sit and watch you get adorably worked up and invested in people you’d never meet all day.
Well, maybe not all day.
“Let’s say I was the bachelor,” he states lying his chin on your shoulder. “Would you try out?”
“Well I think when you try out, you don’t know who the bachelor is,” you giggle as his lips peck your neck.
“Alright say you did, and we weren’t together of course.”
“I honestly don’t know-,” you answer causing him to sit up looking a bit puzzled as he shifted to look you directly in your face.
“You don’t know?”
“Let me finish,” you laugh before kissing the furrowed spot between his brows to relax his face. “I don’t know because I feel like me competing with a bunch of other women who look like supermodels and pageant queens, I’d probably be sent home on night one. Plus you know I don’t really have the same personality type as them either.”
You had a point. Unlike the women on the screen, it took you a bit longer to be open with people due to your shy nature. When you and Ransom first started dating, at least once a week Ransom would start to mentally question if you really liked him as much as he liked you. He’d even become frustrated sitting alone in his modern home as he thought he was possibly missing signals that showed him this.
It was as if you had been reading his mind when you brought it up over a private, candlelit dinner one night at quite possibly the best restaurant in town that, before, you could only dream of going to.
“I-I know I’m probably not as open about my feelings as the other girls you’ve been with,” you spoke nervously fiddling with the extra cloth napkin beside your plate. “I promise it’s not that I don’t like you or anything because I do! It’s just I get in my head, and don’t want to potentially mess up anything and I’m sorry-,”
“Hey, it’s okay,” he interrupts placing his larger hand on top of yours. Was he used to his prior dates and girlfriends telling every feeling and emotion from day one? Yes, but now he understood that until you were comfortable those feelings and thoughts would probably stay held in. And he didn’t mind waiting.
“You don’t need to apologize. I’ll tell you now that you don’t have to be afraid about sharing how you feel with me, but if you need time I get it. Don’t worry I’ll still be here.”
With a soft “aw” as his hand caresses your cheek and thumb grazes your skin, he leans in to kiss your lips only separating briefly before stealing a couple more.
“You’re right, you wouldn’t last long.”
Now was your turn to lean back, looking at him puzzled as you scoffed. “Wow thanks for the vote of confidence.”
“I say that because I’d know you were the one I wanted on night one, so there wouldn’t be any rose ceremonies. It’d be the shortest season in history,” he smiles capturing your smirking lips once more.
“You’d really know on night one?”
You weren’t questioning his loyalty, but you also weren’t gonna forget about his past playboy ways in this hypothetical situation of him being single and surrounded by 30 or so gorgeous women.
“Mhmm. Knowing how long you take to get ready though, you’d probably be the last to arrive but I’d still know,” he chuckles as you lightly smack his chest.

Winter Wonderland
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ransom DrysdalexBlack Reader
⚠️: Ransom being a tiny bit of a jerk, the usual fluff
Sat on the couch comfortably wrapped in your boyfriend’s burnt orange throw blanket, your eyes stay glued to the meteorologist pointing to the map on the wide screen in front of you as you mindlessly bite your thumbnail.
“This again?,” Ransom asks returning from his shower to sit next to you. Forest green tee shirt over his black sweatpants, the scent of sandalwood wafting off his skin brings you closer eventually resting your head on his shoulder while you silently take in a couple deep breaths to savor the smell. “What, are you trying to be a weatherwoman now or something?”
“No, I’m just trying to stay updated. You know, watching to see if it’ll maybe rain or snow...”
Moving his laptop from the glass coffee table to his lap, soon his fingers tap away at the keyboard below as he tries to answer emails he missed while being away with you and your family for Thanksgiving.
“Hopefully it doesn’t. I’ve got too much to do for the power to be turning off.”
“...It would be nice to see though you know?”
“Mm,” he simply replies, mind still comprehending the email from his assistant with his schedule for the upcoming month.
“Snow covering the ground perfect to make snow angels or a snowman with a cute little scarf and carrot nose. Ooh and maybe a snowball fight-!”
“You sound like a kid who’s never seen snow before,” he chuckles. Noticing your extended silence, he sits up meeting your innocent eyes as you play with one of the tassels from the blanket. “You’ve never seen snow, have you?”
“I mean yeah in movies and pictures, but never in person. Remember, it doesn’t really get that cold where I live.”
Only four months in, your relationship was still fairly new. And most of that time he was flying to see you, which was slightly concerning at first. Once he told you about his dysfunctional family though, and you briefly heard it firsthand, it made sense why he wanted to get as far away as possible.
It was just a small mistake when some of his business documents were sent to his parents’ house, but of course they assumed it was his sly way of asking for money. Not even giving him a chance to explain, a shouting match soon ensued and hence why Thanksgiving was spent with your parents.
He still wanted you to come visit to show you his home, where he grew up, and some of his favorite places especially since you showed him yours. He’d just have to be extra careful to avoid any of his family members or those who worked at his grandfather’s home if the two of you went to town.
So far though, you two didn’t have to worry since you’d either been happily snuggled on the couch or in bed since you arrived.
“Well, it’s more of a pain than anything. You need the right tires to drive on the road and even then you have to worry about them being too slick. Then sometimes the snow is like mush that basically starts melting as soon as it falls, and don’t even get me started on the shoveling,” he rants as the small smile on your face slightly falls.
“Yea I’ve uh heard that it’s not so great once you get used to it,” you respond turning the channel to some random movie before handing him the remote. “Looks like it’s not gonna snow anyway though so no worries.”
“Good, I’ll be able to make all of my meetings then.”
As you sat in silence, Ransom could feel that you were disappointed about the sunny and clear forecast. He still stood by all the negative things he said earlier, but he also remembered how excited he’d get as a kid once it started to get colder. That meant snow would eventually come, bringing snow days from school and playing all day in the backyard. That is until his mother would yell at him from the back door not to mess up his clothes or send the nanny out to get him if she felt he wasn’t listening.
Hearing your soft snores, he carefully removes his phone from his pocket, moving his typing from his laptop to the smaller device in his hand as he sends a quick text to someone who might be able to help.
———
The soft chime of your alarm from the bedside table causes you to mentally groan as you reach to silence it before it could disturb Ransom. However feeling his arm tighten around your waist bringing you closer to his bare chest, you could see you were too late.
“Sorry babe. Go back to sleep, you still have time before your meeting,” you whisper.
“No,” he mumbles, face falling to the crook of your neck making you giggle from the sensation of his breathing paired with his pouted lips against your skin.
“Can you let go then? I have to log in for work.” Shaking his head, you roll your eyes at how clingy he could be under that tough, careless facade. “Ransom come on it’s my last workday before Christmas so I can’t call out. As soon as I’m done though you can have me all to yourself okay?”
His only response is silence as you try to escape his grip thinking he drifted back to sleep. You’re slightly startled as your body is turned to face your boyfriend with his eyes still closed and a tired yet playful smirk gracing his lips.
“I already took care of work for you,” he replies opening one eye while the other stayed pressed against the plush pillow.
“What do you mean?”
“That you don’t need to worry about work until the new year.”
“How? You just told my boss I wouldn’t be in for a while and she said okay?”
“Well darling as you know I can be very persuasive,” he cockily states with a wink. Sitting up with arms crossed over your chest, he chuckles at your unamused expression sitting up himself to lean against the headboard. “I told her how I had a secret trip planned for us and asked if you could be out until you were due to be back in January. She said you had the time so it was okay and for us to have fun. If you don’t believe me call her yourself.”
“How long have you had this planned? And where is this secret trip too?,” you finally speak trusting his words.
“A while now, and it wouldn’t be a secret anymore if I told you dear.”
“Then how am I supposed to pack for said trip honey?,” you ask matching his sarcasm.
“Already took care of that too. All you have to do is get ready so we can leave in a couple hours,” he smiles gently grabbing your chin to kiss your lips. “Unless you want to go to work then-,”
“No, I’ll get dressed!” Giving him one last peck as you crawl over his relaxed form, he chuckles watching you excitedly hurry to the bathroom to start your morning routine.
After both of you were dressed and Ransom placed your packed bags in the trunk of his newly rented Range Rover, his hand stops you from entering the passenger side slightly confusing you.
“It’s a surprise remember?,” he smirks pulling a black blind fold out of his jacket pocket.
“You know, this is how a handful of those lifetime movies start before the main character goes missing and her family then sets out to find the boyfriend even though he swears he’s innocent,” you state making him deeply chuckle as he finishes tying the cloth over your eyes.
“Relax, you’re fine. Plus how do I know this isn’t like those movies where the gorgeous girlfriend acts all innocent and sweet until she gets her boyfriend away so she can kill him and take all his stuff before moving on to her next victim?”
“Touché. I guess we’re gonna have to trust each other then.”
“I guess so,” he laughs kissing your cheek before carefully helping you in your seat and closing the door behind you. The drive there didn’t seem too long as you and Ransom talked about everything from each of your favorite vacations over the years to his new book ideas and what was soon to be published under his company. Of course you tried to get him to slip and say where you were going and what he had planned, but his lips remained sealed.
Every time you asked, he’d just chuckle telling you to be patient before kissing the back of your hand.
Soon enough your questions would be answered as the car slowed while it turned maintaining the same speed until coming to a complete stop. “Are we there? Can I take off the blindfold now?,” you excitedly ask.
“Go ahead before you bounce a hole in the seat.”
Removing the cloth, you blink your eyes adjusting to the brightness of the remaining daylight outside before they can focus on what was exactly in front of you. Dark brown wooden outside with a blue green roof and stone chimney, the modern looking cabin with wrap around porch peering into the surrounding woods on one side and the calm lake on the other.
“I hope your silence isn’t because you’re currently regretting coming with me,” he speaks peering at you with soft crystal blue eyes. Leaning over the middle console, your hand finds the back of his neck bringing him closer to connect your lips with his.
“It’s beautiful! The perfect Christmas getaway,” you smile.
“Well not perfect yet. This is just part one of your surprise.”
“Ransom, you don’t-,”
“I know, I don’t have to. As you see though, we’re here so are we gonna sit in the car and stare at it or go inside?,” he smirks before getting out to open your door.
You weren’t surprised to find the inside just as charming as it’s outside view. The modern, minimalistic aesthetic along with high vaulted ceiling and open concept made it seem as if there was no end in sight for the cozy cabin. From it’s overall inviting warmth enveloping you as soon as the both of you crossed the threshold, you weren’t sure if your boyfriend, or anyone, would get you to leave when the time eventually came.
Once settled and full of dinner made from what was in the fully stocked fridge and freezer, courtesy of his assistant, you could feel the day’s toll finally weighing on you as multiple yawns escaped your mouth and eyelids began to droop.
“Don’t fall asleep on me yet, you still have your last surprise to see,” he chuckles gently nudging your arm.
“Ransom seriously everything has been more than enough. What else could you possibly have planned?,” you sleepily smile peering up at him through partially opened lids. Gently pulling you up with him, he guides you to the porch with muscular, sweater covered arms wrapped on your chest just under your neck. He places a kiss on the top of your head as you lean back into his broad chest admiring the bright crescent moon along with the shimmering stars scattered behind it in the black sky.
“Although I do love gazing at the moon with you, and think this is a really nice surprise, it’s getting cold,” you speak feeling the vibrations of his quiet laugh through his chest.
“You really need to work on your patience dear,” he whispers, lips resting next to your ear. Watching the breath from your nose turn to smoke, you soon see something fall from above making you slightly lean forward to see if your eyes were deceiving you. Sure enough, a similar white speck descended with a small swirl as you gently gripped Ransom’s arm gasping. As more and more fell, you reach out over the banister feeling bits of cold ice touch your palm before melting into miniature puddles.
“Is this real?!”
“No, there’s a man on the roof with a wind machine. Yes, it’s real honey,” he chuckles kissing your cold cheek.
“But the forecast said there was none coming.”
“Yea for where we were. That’s why I brought you a bit further north where it usually snows around this time of year. Luckily it still happened or else everything would’ve been ruined.”
Turning to face him, your arms wrap around his neck as you reach on your tip toes to deeply kiss his lips. You prop your chin on his chest, adoringly looking up at your boyfriend with a soft smile.
“Yea no snow would’ve been a bit of a bummer, but everything would still be wonderful because I’m here with you.”
“Stop you’re gonna make me blush,” he dismisses with a dramatic wave making you giggle.
For the next few moments, you both comfortably stand in each other’s arms with your head now lying on his chest gazing at the steady falling flurries, and Ransom doing the same finding himself truly happy to see snow for the first time in a long while.

Hideaway (2)
Tumblr media
Sorry if it’s too long. I honestly didn’t mean for it to be this long but my mind and fingers kept going 😬😂
Pairing: Ransom DrysdalexBlack Reader
⚠️: Very very tiny angst, fluff other than that😊
Stretching his arms over his head, his lids flutter open adjusting to the sunlight illuminating the room. As he slowly rises, running a hand through his wild hair, he notices your missing body from the other side making him wonder when you left and where to. Picking up his phone from the bedside table, his screen lights up with texts and missed calls from Candice apparently still having something to get off her chest, along with a text from his mother making him internally groan.
Mother: Ransom we’re having dinner at your grandfather’s tonight. Hopefully you’ll find it important to join us
Mother: We’re planning to eat at 6 so try to get there no later
“Morning sleepyhead,” you smile entering the room and kicking off your sneakers.
“Look at you, up early and working out like one of those responsible adults you see on the commercials,” he sleepily smirks crossing his arms behind his head.
“Well usually I don’t wake up early, but I couldn’t get back to sleep so I figured why not.”
Ever since Ransom’s big reveal last night, it seemed to be all you could focus on. You always knew he was a big flirt so anytime it was directed towards you, you brushed it off as him just being Ransom. Now your mind was running in circles trying to dissect every line seeing if maybe you had been missing something all along.
To calm this, you thought going for a quick run on the treadmill might help, but you still couldn’t escape from his words eating away at your mind.
“Did you eat yet?,” he asks removing the white covers from his body as he steps out of bed.
“Not yet, all I’ve had is a protein shake. Let me guess, you’re hoping I’ll make you breakfast too?,” you smirk making him chuckle as he puts on his sweats.
“I was actually gonna offer to take you out as a thank you for everything or even make something here, but if you insist on cooking yourself-,”
“Hold up, you’re offering to cook? You? Hugh Ransom Drysdale? Can you even cook?”
“Yes and I’d say so since I’ve taken care of myself this long. You won’t know until you find out though.”
Tilting your head with hands on your hips, as you seemingly analyze the man in front of you making him playfully roll his blue eyes laughing at your expression. “Come on we don’t have all day so what’s it gonna be cupcake?”
“Fine we can go to breakfast. I don’t need you potentially burning down my place trying to make toast,” you answer walking into your bathroom to get ready for the day.
———
“Thank you,” you smile as the waiter placed your French toast, eggs, bacon, and fruit in front of you. Taking a sip of his mimosa, his circular gold rimmed shades hide his eyes stuck on your body from the table up. How the sun hit your skin just right that you seemed to have an angelic glow. How you could manage to look so beautiful while doing nothing but sitting in your own world eating one of your favorite foods.
“So what else do I owe the pleasure of this fancy breakfast?,” you ask gently setting down your fork as you clasp your hands together in front of you on the table.
“What are you talking about?”
“Ransom I know you like a cat knows it’s whiskers, what else do you want?”
“Ok first off, what kind of expression is that? Second I was gonna ask if you wanted to come to a dinner party tonight, but it had nothing to do with me treating you to breakfast. Like I said that was for last night.”
“And by dinner party you mean...”
“Dinner at my grandfather’s,” he sighs leaning back in his seat as you hang your head with a groan.
“No offense to your family Ransom, but I don’t know how many more times I can take Donna asking me about Black Lives Matter or how every time she sees me my hair is different.”
“Listen I know they’re all terrible, if I didn’t have to go I definitely wouldn’t be bringing it up but gramps wants to talk about his new book so I’m stuck. At least they like you though and will actually talk with you rather than at you,” he laughs taking a bite of his jellied toast.
“Sure if you count them going back and forth about politics, typically siding with the controversial view that definitely doesn’t favor anyone not white and rich to then ask me how I feel yea they’re great conversationalist,” you sarcastically smile downing your mimosa in three swallows.
“Alright how about this, we stay there long enough for me to talk to my grandfather, you try to stick with Marta or Meg until I come get you, then we go back to your place. Sound good?”
“Think Candice will still be hanging around yours?”
“I doubt it, but also knowing her flare for the dramatics my place might be trashed to the point of no return.”
Long sigh leaving your lips, you look at a now shades-less Ransom leaning forward to envelope one of your hands in both of his.
“Of course you don’t have to come, but having you there would help me more than you know.”
Yet again you now had his words spiraling through your mind, not trying to read too deep into it but also hoping not to be naive.
“....fine I’ll tag along. Don’t think this is a free favor though.”
“This nice breakfast isn’t enough cupcake?,” he smirks.
“Ha! No, but it’s a good start Hugh,” you reply finishing the last of your eggs.
———
Footsteps tapping against the old wooden steps, you and Ransom stop at the front doors taking a moment to mentally prepare for the next hour or so.
“If you do happen to be whisked away by my uncle or aunts and they get too much to handle, come get me.”
“What if you’re still with Harlan?”
“I’ll cut it short, say your cat is at the pet hospital and it’s an emergency or something.”
“I don’t have a cat though...”
“But they don’t know that. C’mon work with me cupcake,” he winks opening the door to lead you into the warmly lit foyer. It always surprised you how much everything still looked the same over the years. You even spotted the dark stain in the corner of the decorative rug reminding you of Ransom’s 11th birthday party.
You weren’t supposed to run in the house but of course with Ransom all rules went out the window. Trying to race back downstairs from helping him peak at his presents before anyone noticed, the cup in your hand tilted making the liquid splash on the pristine material. Not having time to react, Harlan’s deep voice asking why you guys weren’t outside made the both of you jump as your eyes started to gloss over.
However, Ransom immediately took the blame while also getting both of you off the hook saying he accidentally bumped your arm which is how the juice spilled. Sighing he just warned you both to be careful before going to find the housekeeper to try to clean it up.
Apparently the stain had already settled in too deep.
“I see you decided to grace us with your pre- Y/N?! Oh my gosh I didn’t know you were joining us too!,” Linda smiles walking over to hug you.
“Hi Mrs. Drysdale, it’s good to see you.”
“Honey I told you call me Linda, now come with me in the den where we can talk.”
“Actually Meg wanted to see her as soon as she got here. You know girl stuff,” Ransom interrupts taking your hand from Linda’s.
“Well when she gets here, then they can talk,” she replies taking back your hand. “You just worry about talking to your grandfather, he’s asked about you a couple times now.”
Leading you to the den where you hear the arguing voices of Walt and Richard, you turn your head to see Ransom mouthing “sorry” as you begrudgingly followed behind.
Luckily it wasn’t long until Meg arrived, immediately sneaking you away seeing the “please help me” in your eyes.
“God they can’t give it a rest for one dinner, sorry I couldn’t save you sooner,” she says taking a drag from her vape as you both sit in the chairs outside.
“You still saved me which I’m thankful for,” you laugh. “So how’s college? Fill me in on anything I need to know.”
“Where do I start? Well you remember the drama with my roommate right? So I finally snapped and was like listen either keep your mess on your side or I’m selling everything and I don’t care how you feel. Place has been spotless ever since.”
Giggling as you guys do your handshake, a pair of bright lights parking next to Ransom’s Beemer make you both momentarily pause trying to figure out who they belong to.
Trying to be careful taking her stilettos into consideration as she walks along the dirt path, her short black dress and gold Chanel purse instantly give away who had just arrived.
“Hi Meg! Y/N,” Candice fake smiles once safely reaching the front porch. “Is Ransom free? I have something for him.”
“Pretty sure he’s with our grandpa. Maybe try to give it to him later,” Meg answered, clearly annoyed as always by Candice, or any girlfriend of Ransom’s really.
“Well can you check?,” she snapped making you and Meg exchange a look knowing exactly what the other was saying. Exhaling the smoke from her juul in her direction, she stands up soon entering the house and leaving you and Candice awkwardly silent outside.
“So I guess this is your official appearance as a couple huh?,” she asks looking over her manicured nails.
“No, we’re not together Candice. I told you we’re-,”
“Just friends yea I’ve heard it countless times yet who was he with last night?,” she counters crossing her arms across her chest glaring at you. “You know, it’s really a shame how such a smart girl like yourself can’t see what’s going on.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I hate to break it to you, but Ransom’s taking advantage of you. Think about it, back in high school he’d copy your notes, homework, and even cheat off your tests. Now he runs to you where he knows you’ll do for him since you have no one else.”
“...and he told you that?”
“He didn’t have to, anyone with eyes can see that,” she giggles just as Meg returns.
“He’s still with grandpa so you’re gonna have to give it to him later.”
“Ok, well let him know I stopped by and to text me later please,” she says giving a small wave as she walks down the steps. “Bye Meg and good luck with everything Y/N.”
Dirt and dust collecting in the air as she drives away, you can’t help the knot forming in your throat as your heartbeat quickened pace. You tried to deny her words and dismiss them as angry lies being used as a way to inflate her ego.
But it was too late, she was in your head and now you didn’t know what to think.
You hated to admit that some things did make sense, but Ransom was your childhood best friend. Yea he could be a cold hearted jerk at times to others, but he was never that way to you. Unless you just didn’t see it...
“Hey you ok? Did she say something to you?! I swear I’ll pull Malibu Barbie back here myself-,”
“That’s very rich calling me the trust fund baby when last time I checked you rely on the same thing!,” Ransom shouts just before slamming the door behind him. “Meg remind your creep of a little cousin where his allowance really comes from. Y/N I’m ready let’s go.”
Finally taking a moment to look at you, he sees your glossy eyes ready to overflow at any moment along with your frustrated expression.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Ask your girlfriend,” Meg answers comfortingly rubbing your back. “You really have excellent taste in women dear cousin.”
“I don’t need a child trying to dictate my love life. Now if you don’t mind the adults need to talk.”
“It’s ok Meg, I’ll talk to you later ok?” Giving you a hug she collects her purse before standing to point a finger at Ransom.
“You better fix it. Y/N doesn’t do anything to anyone and definitely doesn’t deserve to be hurt indirectly because of you,” she angrily whispers before walking inside and closing the door behind her.
“Alright what did she do this time?,” he sighs sitting in the chair across from you.
“Have you been using me?,” you whisper looking down at your hands.
“What kind of-,”
“Ransom just answer the question, have you ever taken advantage of me or are still doing so?!”
“I would but technically that’s two cupcake so which one do you want first?,” he lightly chuckles hoping you’d roll your eyes and laugh along like he could always make you do when you were upset. However, he quickly realized you were not in the mood.
“YOU REALLY THINK IM TRYING TO JOKE AROUND RIGHT NOW?!”
“Hey lower your voice! I’m right here I can hear you perfectly fine.”
“Clearly not since you won’t answer the question!”
“Fine have I before? Yes, but that was in high school! You were my friend and a bit of a push over so I knew you’d always help me out.”
“And that’s how you’ve thought about me ever since.” Rising to your feet, you rush back in the house immediately entering the study so no one can see your stained cheeks.
You couldn’t believe it, but Candice was right and your “friendship” was turning out to be a lie. Pacing back and forth across the room, several emotions swirled through your head; hurt, rage, disappointment at yourself for not seeing it sooner.
“What did Candice say to you?,” Ransom asks tossing his keys on the desk clearly seeing how you guys would be here for a while.
“God how could I be such an idiot for all these years?! That explains the argument about me then.”
“How did you-?”
“Last night I asked and you told me. You were half asleep so that’s why you don’t remember.”
“Listen whatever you’re trying to piece together stop because it’s not true,” he starts as he steps closer to you.
“And I’m supposed to believe that how?! I bet she tried to tell you to leave poor little old me alone but nooo you love having your cake and eating it,” you laugh to yourself, sneakers lightly squeaking against the hardwood floor.
“No she asked me why I always run to you and she didn’t like the answer I gave.”
“Why? You told her I do your laundry and wait on you better?,” you retort making him lowly chuckle running a hand through his hair.
“I told her you bring me comfort, peace, happiness, everything good that she nor any of my ex’s could ever bring.”
Pausing, you look at him through clouded eyes as he sighs placing his hands on his hips gazing up at the ceiling.
“That’s why I’m always at your place, why I’ve brought you to family dinners more than all of my ex’s combined. With you, any problems I have, whether it be with this highly dysfunctional family or anything else, you take that away. It’s weird, but sometimes I wish you could just be glued to me so I could take you everywhere and always have that feeling.”
“Sure that’s calmness from me and not from a lack of responsibility?”
“Yes,” he answers meeting your eyes. “And just as sure as me doing this is probably not gonna end well but I’m willing to take that risk to make you see what I’m saying is true.”
Not giving you a chance to respond, he closes the gap between the two of you until his lips meet yours. Not too gentle yet not too rough, his movements left you lips tingling as your body seemed to be getting a jumpstart from the jolt you felt. You couldn’t lie and say Ransom wasn’t your best kiss.
Figures seeing how the worst ones for you always seem to be the best at things like this.
Bringing yourself back to reality, your hand comes across his cheek with a loud smack you’re sure could be heard from a one mile radius as you push him away.
“Are you serious?!?!!”
“Yep and that was the bad ending,” he says holding his reddened, stinging cheek.
“You really thought kissing me was gonna magically make me change my mind!?”
“Not gonna lie I thought it would help,” he sighs. “Y/N you said so yourself that you knew me like a cat and it’s tail-,”
“It was a cat knows it’s whiskers.”
“Whatever, what I’m trying to say is that you know me. The guy you said that to a few hours ago is the same guy right now. Yes I’ve wronged you before and I’m sorry, but I swear to you it was only in high school that was it. Whenever I come to you, it’s because I want to be with you even in those times you watch those awful romantic comedies that literally all have the same plot and ending but you still get emotional over and love,” he finishes making you giggle.
“You hate them yet you cried at Maid in Manhattan.”
“Only because the whole thing was so bad and honestly makes no sense! How did she not know-?”
Now was your turn to catch him off guard crashing your lips onto his. Arms snaking around his neck as his bring your body closer to him, you’re surprised by how natural it felt. Like you guys had been a couple this whole time and passionately kissing each other was just an everyday occurrence. If there were any weird feelings, they were now long gone as either of you only wanted to stay with the other like this for as long as you could.
However, that would soon be short lived once Harlan walked through the door making Ransom and yourself quickly separate trying to act as if nothing happened. Of course he could see straight through it as you nervously smiled trying to catch your breath and Ransom had his back turned with hands on the back of the couch.
“Y/N! How are you dear?,” Harlan smiled embracing you in a hug.
“I’m good Harlan and you?”
“The best that an old man like me can do I guess,” he chuckles. “Ransom didn’t tell me you came for dinner too.”
“I was planning on coming in the office to say hi after you both were done, but Meg and I started talking outside. I should’ve said something sooner though I’m sorry.”
“Oh it’s quite alright I understand,” he smiles patting your hand. “We’ll just have to catch up another time when you come visit since I’m sure you’ll be around more often.” Throwing a knowing look at his eldest grandson, who was now facing the both of you, Ransom shyly looks down with a quiet chuckle.
“How about tomorrow afternoon? I know you both probably have some other date you need to get to.”
“That sounds good, we’ll see you then,” you smile softly kissing his cheek as he kisses yours.
“Before you leave though, I do need to have a last few words with my grandson.”
“Sure, I’ll go tell everyone else bye.” Waiting until the door clicked behind you, Harlan lightly shakes his head as he lightly chuckles.
“What? You want to tell me I told you so since you’ve been waiting for us to get together since we were teenagers?”
“No, I just hope you know what you’re getting into. Y/N isn’t like the other girlfriends you’ve had and won’t stand for any of the nonsense you did while with them. She’s a good girl and deserves respect.”
“Jeez you sound like her father,” Ransom replies rolling his eyes.
“I’m serious Ransom.”
“I know, and I am too. I know she deserves better, which is why I’m trying to get my stuff together and show her she’s not making a mistake by being with me or even being friends with me. I need her in my life and whatever I have to do to keep her I will, no question.”
Studying his blue eyes and his softened yet serious features, a proud smile spreads across Harlan’s face as he rests his hand on Ransom’s shoulder.
“Good. You saying that I can already tell you’re on the right track.”

Hideaway
Hey guys!! So I randomly had a dream that included Ransom even though I haven’t seen the movie yet (I know I’m trying lol). Although my whole dream wasn’t about him, this imagine is based off of a small part and hopefully you guys like it! 😊💕
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ransom Drysdale x Black Reader
Warnings: None
“ARE YOU MAD?! YOU THINK ITS OK TO STORAGE FOOD LIKE THIS?!!,” Gordon Ramsey yelled at yet another restaurant owner while going through their pantry.
Shaking your head, you laugh in disbelief as the kitchen staff begins the blame game pointing fingers at everyone else on why things aren’t correct. While sitting at home on a Friday night watching tv might not be ideal for everyone, you had been looking forward to it all week.
Although you loved your job of being a kindergarten teacher, and your students, you definitely needed some me time on the weekends. Thus why you were currently snuggled under your blanket in your pajama shorts and an old graphic tee with your favorite snacks beside you and loving every minute of it.
Just as a commercial comes on, a strong knock on your front door slightly startles you from the noise as well as the fact that you weren’t expecting anyone. Making your way to your front door, you look through the peephole to meet an unpleasant surprise.
Dressed up in black pants and dress shoes along with a white button down shirt stained with red wine, there stood your best friend since 3rd grade, Ransom Drysdale, looking rich and smug as always.
“Cupcake!,” he smiled with open arms.
You hated that nickname ever since he gave it to you in high school, and he knew that too which is why he kept using it. Long story short, never ask Ransom to pretend to be your boyfriend so a not so secret admirer can leave you alone.
“Hugh,” you smile back, arms crossed in front of you as he rolls his eyes. Just as you hated “cupcake” he hated his first name, Hugh, which was all the ammunition you needed to annoy him.
“What are you doing here and what happened to your shirt?”
“Well, lets just say Candice isn’t my biggest fan right now,” he explains, walking into your apartment and sitting on the arm of your couch.
“Ok so I’m guessing that’s where the wine stain came from, but that still doesn’t explain why you’re here when you have your own place you could be at right now.”
“Because she kicked me out of said place,” he sighs rubbing his temple. “We we’re having dinner and one thing led to another and she kicked me out, which is why I’m here.”
Knowing him for so long, you knew when Ransom wasn’t fully telling the truth. But in a situation like this, you thought it best to just leave it alone.
“Here give me your shirt,” you finally speak after a few moments of silence.
“Cupcake?!,” he gasps, hand on his chest and signature smirk across his face. “You know I always had my suspicions that you might have a thing for me.”
“Give me your shirt so I can wash it genius,” you retort holding your hand out. Laughing, he unbuttons his shirt before placing it in your hands.
“Let me get this started and I’ll bring you a new pair of clothes. Until then there’s food and drinks in the fridge, and don’t break anything,” you reply before disappearing to your laundry room.
He may not seem like it, but Ransom was grateful you were always there for him. Anytime he needed to get away from everything, or an irate girlfriend, he knew you’d welcome him in for as long as he needed. Well within reason that is.
That’s why Candice, or any of his exes for that matter, didn’t like you. No matter how many times you assured them that you and Ransom were just friends and you wouldn’t dare do anything to compromise their relationship, they still didn’t trust you. And in those times they found out he was hiding out at your place, it always made the situation worse resulting in a screaming match or a flat out break up.
Wrapped up in Gordon Ramsey gagging while trying entrees at a restaurant, a knock at the door makes him sigh at having to move from his spot on the couch.
“Oh hi I’m Bo, I live across the hall over there. Sorry for interrupting your evening I was just gonna give Y/N her mail, they accidentally put it in my box again.” About an inch taller than Ransom, a muscular man with short black hair and deep brown eyes stood in the doorway clearly just getting back from his workout from the clothes he was wearing and water bottle in hand.
“Thanks I’ll make sure she gets it,” he answers with a dry smile, taking the few envelopes from his other hand.
“So you must be her boyfriend,” Bo speaks up just as Ransom moves to close the door. Looking puzzled with one eyebrow raised, he crosses his arms in front of him to discretely show off his muscles and subtly say “yea, you’re not the only one who lifts.”
“Who wants to know?”
“Oh I don’t mean any disrespect, I just assumed since I’ve seen you around here a few times, plus I mean you did just open the door without a shirt,” he nervously laughs. “I mean if you guys are just friends though, I wouldn’t mind taking her out. Don’t tell her I said that though!”
“Hm, well good thing she already has a boyfriend then huh?,” Ransom smugly smiles before closing the door in Bo’s face.
“Who was at the door?,” you ask returning with a pair of sweats and shirt for him to wear.
“Just one of your comical neighbors giving you your mail, and are you hoarding my stuff now?”
“No, more like holding it in a lost and found since you keep leaving stuff over here!”
“Like you don’t like having little momentos of me here,” he smirks putting on his plain dark grey shirt. “Plus I know you wear my shirts sometimes.”
Scoffing, you laugh as you sit down on the couch to continue your “Kitchen Nightmares” marathon while he goes in your room to change his pants. In all honesty though, he was right about you wearing his shirts. So yea you sometimes wore them when you wanted to feel extra cozy, what girl doesn’t like oversized shirts?
And yea you might’ve also liked how they somehow still smelled like him, that didn’t mean anything!
Before he could sit down coming back from the bathroom, he looks down at his vibrating phone before sucking his teeth.
“Yes?,” he answers sounding exhausted and not in the mood to talk as he leans against the counter.
“Where are you?,” Candice asks. Shrill voice traveling all the way to where you were sat on the couch.
“Why does it matter, you kicked me out remember?”
“I know but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you or want to make sure you’re ok.”
“Well don’t worry I’m fine.”
“Why are you talking so low? Wait are you at her place?!”
“Candice don’t-,”
“No Ransom Drysdale are you at Y/N’s apartment yes or no?!”
Hearing him get quiet, you slightly turn to see him look at you before looking down at the floor. “Yes”
“Why am I not surprised. You know what, since she’s the one you always want to run to, she can have you because I’m done! Hope you both have a nice life!”
And with that, her voice was gone and you could hear Ransom put his phone in his pocket as he sat beside you.
“I’m so sorry Ransom, I didn’t mean to cause anything-,”
“Don’t apologize. This happened because of something going on way before I came here tonight,” he interrupts looking straight ahead at the tv screen.
“But that’s the thing, I’m what’s been going on and it’s been that way for a while now,” you respond. “Look Ransom, maybe it’d be best that you not come over anymore or that we not even be friends.”
Muting the tv, he turns to look at you. The intensity from his blue eyes making you slightly nervous from never experiencing it before.
“Is that what you want?”
“I mean of course not, but your girlfriends-,”
“Let me worry about my at the time girlfriend, ok? But if you don’t want to be friends anymore, or want me over, then say the word and it’s done. So I ask you again, is that what you want?”
“....No it’s not.”
“Then it’s settled,” he responds turning the sound back on the tv. “So how are those germ infested piranhas of yours?”
“1. Don’t call them that and 2. They’re good,” you laugh taking a few sips of your juice. “You should come during story time one day and read to them!”
“I think I’d rather swim with actual piranhas,” he answers stealing a few of your chips.
———
Waking up with a stretch, you look at your phone to see that it’s 2 am and that both you and Ransom had fallen asleep on the couch.
“Ransom, wake up we fell asleep.” Lightly shaking his shoulder, his eyes flutter open as he yawns lifting his head.
“What time is it?”
“A little after 2 am. Since it’s so late you can crash here if you want.”
“Ok just hand me a pillow and I’ll sleep out here,” he sleepily answers, rubbing his eyes as he sits upright.
“You can sleep in the bed you know, it’s not like we haven’t shared before.”
“Trying to take advantage of me in my vulnerable state huh?,” he smirks removing part of the blanket from his lap.
“Whatever I was just offering because I know a certain spoiled brat is gonna complain about his back in the morning if he does sleep on the couch,” you counter with a smirk of your own.
Rolling his eyes, he helps you clean up before following you to your room and taking off his shirt and sweats before sliding into bed. Wrapping your hair up in your bonnet, you climb in your side of the bed, cutting off the light on your bedside table.
“Night cupcake,” Ransom smiles.
“Night Hugh,” you softly laugh, turning away from him towards the starlit sky outside your window.
Feeling the bed shift beside you from his movements, you start to turn your head to tell Ransom to calm down, but are cut off by his strong arm wrapping around your waist and gently bringing you towards his chest. With his breath lightly tickling the back of your neck, you weren’t sure if it was your heart racing or his from how close you were.
Again, you’d shared a bed plenty of times, but never gotten this close before so you were definitely caught off guard. However, you couldn’t lie that being there made you feel comfortable, secure, and more relaxed than you had been in a while.
“Um Ransom you awake still?,” you ask barely above a whisper.
“Hm,” he replies basically telling you that in the next few minutes, he’d be in a deep sleep.
“I doubt you’ll tell me, but what did you and Candice fight about over dinner?”
Only hearing his soft snores, you figure you’ll never know what happened, and took that as a sign that you probably shouldn’t, since he would just tell you not to worry about it if you asked him tomorrow. Before drifting off to sleep yourself though, you hear him mumble something you couldn’t quite understand.
“What did you say?”
“You,” he repeats burying his head into the back of your neck as your heart beats so loud, you doubt you’ll ever get back to sleep.
Again hope you guys like it and sorry if it’s super long or non-canon😬 (hopefully it’s canon though since I tried really hard to capture Ransom and his Ransomness lol)
