BINGO FOR RAPHIVY! I see them as this incredibly long term friendship/relationship that has it's peaks and valleys in terms of how 'romantic' they are with each other but always has a foundation in the fact that they are each other's research partner and that is a bond deeper than marriage. Two women who want to know everything and actively spend their immortality trying to learn everything through different methods, none of which are ethical! amazing! Like, they're each other's emergency contacts, they're old friends, they understand how devoted the other is to her work and know that work always comes first but they make space for each other in their pursuits! Also they've definitely kidnapped people for research purposes. And like, have each other's preferred foods down to a science because when you get someone you make sure they don't eat the food that has the bad textures. (they are autistic bc I say so)

OH BOY BRIARJONNY. no bingo but that's because I don't think there are enough scenarios to cover them honestly. I think they're two incredibly fucked up individuals who have the exact same coping mechanisms for trauma and immortality and that is murder and violence. to quote an excellent fic writer (TrissHawkeye on AO3) they will navigate their relationship through hyperviolence or not at all. they're insane and also just understand each other very well because they went "terrible things have happened to me. I am now a terrible thing that will happen to everyone else". they murder each other so often and there is a grudging respect there and you should never leave them alone together so much violence will occur

Mechs fandom timeline

The Before Times

Inception - DTTM. Pre modern fandom, the band was still together. The Mechschord had band members in it and they were semi-active.

Early Pre-Modern Era

One or Two members in the mechschord. ~~December 2019-febuary 2020. TMA fans start piling in. Raphivy and Timbertie are the major band ships. Mostly album based fandom and discussion.

Pre-Modern

Febuary 2020-Mechtober 2020. The Mechanisms mostly leave the discord. It's just Maki in the-carmillazone. Violinspector is king. It's all violinspector. Early loredigging occurs. We know nearly nothing of what we do now. I don't even think we knew that it wasn't Carmilla who mechanized Tim. Most fics include Lyf. Jonny & Nastya as siblings fanon is born. The beginning of the Anti-Carmilla Era.

Modern/The Heyday

Post Mechtober 2021-mid-late 2021. Tim/Jonny renaissance. Violinspector's tower slowly falls. TMA ends in this period. The fandom grows exponentially. TS is a favorite. We learn new things regularly. Loredigging in its prime. The vast majority are still carmilla-haters but a minority of fans like her.

Pre-Post-Modern

Mid-late 2021-mechtober 2021

Things are slowing down now. Less fic and art being posted. Mechtober 2021 is the final hurrah. Violinspector is now endangered. Raphivy is near extinct. Tim/Jonny still trucking on. Polymechs is still there. Beginning of the end of carmilla hating.

Post-Modern

First half of 2022. I stop engaging. Things slow down a lot. Presumably most of the carmilla haters leave.

Now

Things are picking up again. Tim/Jonny is going strong. Raphivy is basically extinct. I don't know the status on violinspector. We are in an unprecedented era of carmilla loving.

raphivy au idea : Raphaella is this scientist makong mind blowing discoveries or whatever and is totally in love with Ivy , the librarian . so like they date or whatever and the details here are kinda fuzzy didnt have too much time to think abt it but then in a horrible accident at the science place and Raphaella dies , preferably the morning after some big event between the two to add angst points but for this to work they would already have to have known eachother very well so maybe the morning after the night one proposed to the other probably Raphaella would propose tbh but anyway so Raphaella is tragically dead . Ivy is obviously grieving a lot cuz her new fiance just fucking died but then Raphaella actually became a fuckign ghost so now shes like sitting next to Ivy on the couch as Ivy mournfully stares at the empty spot , and Raphaella is learning her new ghost powers and like . so now Ivy notices her kinda behind her in a mirror and thinks shes hallucinating but Raphaella like knocks a book off the shelf or smthn abt ghosts and maybe flickers the lights in morse code cuz they both learned it together because theyre gay nerds and when Ivy is feeling really hot and sweaty Raphaella will go through her because of the 'ghost going through someone and they get cold' thinf and sometimes Ivy will just pull out the ouija board and chat with Raphaella like kicking her feet in the air talking to her dead fiance and sometimes she'll walk past a mirror and for a split second see Raphaella doing like a dammit my phone doesnt have the hand heart emojis but yk what im talking abt where the thumbs make the bottom of the heart or smthn and maybe Raphaella will pull the blankets up over Ivy when shes cold at night , maybe one day Raphaella possesses a teddy bear or something to finally give Ivy a hug again and someday when Ivys old and dies peacefully in her bed she discovers Raphaella lying next to her crying both sad that Ivys passed away but also happy that they can finally see eachother again and they do a gay lil [not little at all] ghost kiss or whatever the fuck idk maybe they dont do that and then they pass on together because Ivy was the only reason Raphaella hadnt passed on yet and they ascend in eachothers arms
