_Prologue_

Frances had been in constant movement for as long as she could remember. 

Traveling with her father for so long, having no place to really call home, as exciting as it was, was exhausting. She often wondered why they were even like this in the first place, but she knew her father would slither his way out of any questions she asked, so she kept quiet, even if the questions were stabbing at her mind and were almost physically painful to silence. 

For now, at least, she could sit silently at the campfire and enjoy the stillness of the night. She looked up to the stars. Stars are in constant movement too, so although it didn’t feel right, she thought, maybe this is the way things were meant to be, constant movement. Her thoughts were interrupted by the rustle of bushes as her father came back from gathering sticks.

Her father, Briar, had always been very nice to Frances. He was a selfless man who always had her in his best interest. In Frances’ opinion, he was the best father she could ask for, even if he struggled at times. Briar smiled as he approached, “I’m back, Frances.”, his deer ears flicking joyfully. 

That was one of the ways she was different from her father. While he had deer ears, Frances had elf ears. Another difference was that, while Briar had two brown eyes, Frances had two different colored eyes, one was brown and the other was blue, which she thought was very strange. But that’s just who she was, strange. Her long antlers just proved this point. Female deer aren’t supposed to have long antlers. Normal female deer antlers are more akin to nubs.

She Thought about this a lot. Maybe, she thought, I could just cut them off with my sword. But her thoughts were interrupted by her father’s voice, “Fran, will you help me make dinner tonight?”, he started, “I could really use your help.”

Frances paused for a moment before replying, “Sure” Then, she got up and walked over to the large tree stump they were using as a makeshift table. “Thanks, Fran.”, said her father gratefully. Then, they cooked until they had made a nice mushroom stew. It was no beef stew, thought Frances, but it at least smelled good.

They talked as they ate, laughing in between warm bites of mushroom and broth. As Frances lay in her sleeping bag that night, all she could think about was how happy she was to have the life she did, even if it wasn’t the one she dreamed of.

The thing about hbo Titans is they had the PERFECT cast and then they ruined it with horrible writing.

I was able to enjoy (some of) it because i watched it back before i knew (pretty much) anything about dc comics (or good writing in general & i was just young/naive enough to enjoy it).

(I never finished season 3).

But, like, teagan croft as rachel roth/raven? Perfect! I loved Brenton thwaites as Dick Grayson/Nightwing! Curran Walters did really well as Jason Todd/Red Hood/Robin Ii, especially when considering what he had to work with! Anna Diop as Koriand'r/Starfire was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Also perfect (at least imo): Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall/Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan/Beast Boy, Connor Leslie as Donna Troy/Wondergirl...honestly, what casting wasn't amazing!?

But the writing freaking sucked and ruined the show!

I had an idea when I went to go watch Migration w/my sister in theatres and this is the result,, the freakshow brothers as birds + pomni,,

This whole idea sparked from thinking about freakshow Pomni as a turtledove, I don’t really have a good reason for her being one aside from the concept that she is new to the circus so she hasn’t been as corrupted as the others who’ve been there for years, so a pure white dove is the best representation :)

Freakshow Able is a barred owl because the pics that I saw of that bird was so creepy ! Their eyes were pitch black and it gave me Able vibes,, I drew his and Caines chests to kind of mimic the middle part of the suit that’s puffy ( I don’t know the name of it rip )

Freakshow Caine as a raven was suggested by sm-baby

I did take some inspiration from sm-babys art piece where Pomni was on a stage dancing with Caine at the bottom of the stage 🫶

One last thing, if you look closely on Caines nest you’ll see his feathers lining it, I would imagine they’re very soft kinda like a hybrid between cotton and silk
