Day 14: Happily Ever After. - What happens after the good ending of an LI of your choice.

This ignores the spirit of the prompt but technically...

V AE spoilers-

God what I wouldn't give to trade most of what we got in VAE for more Ray and V interactions. I want to see feral kitten Ray and foster dad V so bad.

I'm not sure that Ray is the type for malicious compliance and veiled insults, but the idea of V teaching him how to weave flower crowns on their V AE adventures and Ray presenting him with a crown full of flowers with terrible meanings early on in their journey when he'd still be holding onto his mistrust and resentment toward V, I had to.

Picked anemone for obvious reasons, but also columbines because, while I'm unsure what they symbolize in Korea (if anything), they have historically have some hilariously insulting meanings attached to them in the west. (They're also my favorite flower.)

I just finished playing Ray's route for the first time today. And ofc I have a long of feelings, but I also feel like my experience may be different because I played Ray's AE as soon as it was released, and at the time I hadn't even played the deep route yet. But I did follow lots of blogs (like yours ♡) and I didn't avoid spoilers, so I had a general idea about his route already.

So while I played I was really hopeful for Saeran, because I knew he would eventually be able to understand his worth and find agency. I was hopeful because I knew we would be able to save Saeyoung, but at the same time I felt deeply for Saeran and the rest of the RFA, because they didn't know what I knew. And my heart ached for V, because I saw how he was doing progress in the beginning, but I knew that in the end he would take the wrong lesson and make bad choices.

So yeah, I don't regret playing the AE when it came out because I didn't want to get spoiled, but I'm left with a lot of feelings that I presume I wouldn't have felt if I hadn't played it.

Also unrelated but I keep replaying Flower Wind by Mesemoa because it reminds me of Saeran

Oh, there is no doubt that you experienced quite the difference if you hadn't played the route going into the after ending.

It's one thing to experience something second hand, and it's another thing to go through it yourself to get juicy bits of lore locked in there. It makes me wonder how your personal perspective was shaped here when you played the situation out for what it was without the Route to back it up. You can play the RAE without any prior knowledge, but it makes me wonder what you felt as you played through it.

How did you see GE Saeran with just the information you got from me and others at the time?

That's just from a Natural Curiosity standpoint. Because, it's hard for me to imagine not having that information, but I have the benefit of having been someone who has played the game from the start and had the chance to do everything as it was happening in real time, so there wasn't grounds for spoilers so to speak.

You might have to come back and bother me with these perspectives of yours cuz I am genuinely interested.That being said, I hope your experience playing the route for the first time was an interesting one. It can be a lot to take in and I am certain day nine through you for a loop, so I'm glad to see you survived that.

But, that song? Lovely.

Mystic Messenger (Another Story)

The long awaited Another Story. I had no real ideas of what to expect going in, other than these two stories are in a different reality from the first five routes. But I really didn’t have too many ideas about it, and I’ve tried to avoid spoilers about it. I was super excited to finally play them!

V’s Route

I was low-key dreading this route. I’m not a huge fan of V. Especially given what happens after 707’s route, it made me really not want to play V’s route. I didn’t like V, I didn’t like Rika, I hated their relationship, so I figured V’s Route wouldn’t be for me.

The common Another Story route was really hard on me, because I’m more drawn to Ray than V, but I pushed through. But once I got to V’s Route it became actually painful having to reject Ray all the time. I cried so many times during V’s Route and 95% of the time it was because I felt bad about how I had to treat Ray and the things Ray had to go through.

V’s Route was emotionally exhausting, way worse than even 707’s route was for me. It’s just so heavy and not as many funny parts to break it up. The content is also pretty dark. It also deals with many complex themes that make you really have to evaluate your morals and such.

I honestly didn’t think I’d like this route at all, but I’m grateful I played it. I think I got to see a lot of growth and depth in the characters which was great. It made me actually like V. It gave me even more reasons to love Jumin (Jumin Han apologist all day every day). And the ending was really good. Full disclosure I did the forgiveness ending, and I don’t think I’ll do the judgement one, so I can only give thoughts on the one I did. And I’ll say it was really good and heartwarming. The ending definitely made all my tears and trauma worth it.

I will say if you are on the fence about playing I’d recommend it even if you don’t like V, but just be prepared to be emotionally rocked.

Ray’s Route

This is the route I had been waiting for and was so excited to finally play. I’ve been so interested in Ray/Saeran/Unknown since I first played the game. So I was so excited to get to play this route, especially since V’s route made me so depressed for having to betray and leave Ray.

I had so much fun playing this route, I’ll say it was hard because Another Story seems to just be more exhausting than other routes. There are more calls and more chats you can’t miss than the other routes, plus there are many late night and early morning chat rooms so my usual style of sometimes skipping the last chat of the day and waking up to play before the third chat of the day doesn’t work as well.

But other than the fact Another Story is hard, I really loved this route. It was so good and really just gave me everything I could’ve wanted. I like that Saeran is such a complex character, his route is very similar to his brother’s in that way. I don’t want to say too much as I like to avoid giving spoilers even if the game is older, but I’ll just say even when he’s struggling mentally and being not as nice, it was still super good. They knew what they were doing with the CGs in his route.

I also enjoyed that his route is technically longer than others since his after ending give an extra four days of content. Overall I just really really loved his route. It was so fun to play, even when it made me angry or sad, I still absolutely loved it! I think it really wraps things up and ends with all the characters getting to be happy if you get the AE Good ending, which I really enjoyed. Playing this was so satisfying especially since I did stop playing in 2017 and never got to experience this before. It was such an amazing experience, and I was so happy to see all my boys happy.

Final Thoughts

Another Story is so rough, the chat room times suck, there are calls after practically every chat. The content can be pretty heavy and dark. And it definitely made me really feel things both good and bad. I cried multiple times in both routes.

I really love this game and I’m so happy to have gotten to replay it this year and finally finish it. I know there’s a lot of mixed feelings about Cheritz in the community, but I’m so grateful for this game.

I genuinely love the characters and stories we get to see. If I had to pick a favorite I really don’t think I could. It’s probably a three way time between Jumin and the twins, I absolutely adore all three of them, next would be Yoosung, then Zen, then Jaehee, and V would be dead last. This game has such great characters I really do love them all and often just want them all to be happy. Even characters I hate or feel very angry towards I usually just want them to be happy by the end. I really enjoyed Ray’s Good AE as the true end to the game.

I’m going to miss this game, but I’ll probably play it more in the future. I haven’t done any bad ends because I’m general they make me too sad and I want everyone happy. But I might play Jumin’s BE 2, and the AE that goes with that, just because I’m very curious. I’ll also probably play the Christmas and April Fools DLC when those holidays come around. But I probably won’t make posts about them.

Personally I'm glad he did, but we all have different values and perspectives on these types of topics. Especially if they're as controversial, the relationship between him and his father had never been okay.

His father caused his mother to become a lot worse in her already messed up state that I theorize she had. Hiding away in the dark full of fear until he had no other choice but to face him and still... ending up getting hurt in the process of doing so..

But this is a decision we leave to Saeran^^

We cannot tell him what's the right thing to do, we can give him our point of view and how we feel about it. If you'd like to tell him you don't want to forgive his father, hate him just like Saeyoung does, then Saeran is the last to force you feeling otherwise. It's not like he really has forgiven his father, either.

It's just that he accepted the past and that it can't be changed, you know? And that's why we should respect him forgiving him his father~ He went through it, he's the one who had to face it head on and it was his decision to say "I want to forgive"

Whereupon Saeyoung would never, he'd be just like you in this! And that is just as valued as for Saeran's choice to do the opposite instead. Everyone has their own way of coping. And he'd chosen that path.

We cannot judge his decision^^ But if you feel that way, then let him know. He'll appreciate your opinion deeply <3 🎀

I finally got Ray's good ending! Gosh it was difficult for me, I played so many times and everytime got stuck on bad ending 1 or normal ending... finally!

But omg V is stupid or just too naive, wth??? He can do anything as long it is for Rika... he's my problematic fave

Kinda feels bad for seeying him going though that path but can do nothing because I'm happy with Saeran

Anyway, Seven still missing huh? He will show up in the AE, right? Ok don't tell me, I don't like spoilers lol

Now I need to collect 300 hourglasses :( this will take a while

I'm going to play the Jumin route now, I can't deal with all Mint Eye's bullshit in Another Story once again (Rika seriously gets on my nerves but deep down I still feel sorry for her). I want a fun route, and seeing Jumin "catching" feelings for MC is pretty funny to me saidjaisdihfhadf

A Small Character Analysis of Saeran (Mostly) and Seven

MYSME SPOILERS (kinda) (GENERAL STORY + RAY ROUTE/AE)

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but I think it's kinda interesting how Saeran/"Unknown" of the original story is also flirtatious (albiet in a creepy & threatening way), just like how he is in his route. I personally believe he does have a romantic personality, but the years in Mint Eye seriously twisted this aspect of his, and then he does it just to scare or creep people out (or at least MC out), while in AS it hasn't gone to that point and he's just a sweetheart about it.

Now that I think about it, he also has some moments in AS (post days 7-9 of his route) where he does (playfully) tease MC. Unknown in original story also has a tendency to tease people (once again, in a more sadistic and threatening manner rather than light hearted), so I think that probably is another "personality trait that got twisted in a bad way."

On a slightly similar note, I saw someone on Tumblr say they think Unknown's sadism could be mirroring Saeyoung's own sadism, and how the former's could be seen as a contrast to if Saeyoung had no boundaries or care for others & his sadism is completely unleashed. Considering that in Ray's AE during a dream (Yeah I know it's a dream, but it's written in a way where I think the writers' were implying this is how they'd act), while teasing MC, Saeran makes a comment about it being "a thing between him and his brother," and all the other parallels made between them, I think that could actually have merit.

Right lads, I’m gonna do a daily commentary on Saeran’s AE because damn I gotta vent lol

I think it goes without saying, SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT! Long post ahead. And lot’s of screenshots (did not know there was an image limit on tumblr post lol had to whack the collaging app). A lot happened guys, and I have a lot of feelings.

Day 1!

First, a few initial thoughts

I forgot about the pure anxiety of picking the right chat choices lmao. This is not a game for over thinkers lemme tell ya

Really REALLY appreciated the current lack of 3am chat rooms lol. It went from 12am to 9am and it was GLORIOUS

Okay, some general thoughts about day 1:

This suspense with Saeyoung is genuinely killing me. Like I NEED him to be okay in the end. The panic from his visual novel was so real. I actually can’t think about it too much without getting upset lmao

Seriously concerned about V’s character. I'm praying that they don’t villainise him and he can have a happy ending. Saeran got a happy ending in V’s ae, and it’ll be so upsetting if V doesn’t get the same from Saeran’s.

Rika is straight up pissing me off. I’m sorry to say it, but she is. I don’t know if I’m just moody today bc usually I can either just brush her off or find a way to sympathise for her (not excuse her actions, just make an effort to understand her) but today I just couldn’t do it. It’s not even like...genuine anger she’s just annoying me hahah (pretty sure I’m just hormonal or something, but we’ll see lol)

And if she brings up Saeran’s mother and tries to push the idea that she herself is like a mother to him I will personally twat her round the head.

Oh, or if she talks about Jumin again. I will protect my bois if it’s the last thing I do.

The call from Driver Kim was the only saving grace of the day. What a wholesome man.

Seeing V and Rika be all domestic and ‘normal’ in some chats/on the spaceship thing was...unsettling. It makes me even more concerned for V...

Basically, I am afraid of what’s going to happen next.

Quick Saeran After Ending CG Guide! (COMPLETE)

Ignore the ones written in black, they all appear normally throughout the route (as long as you get the good end).

#33: Sad Ending 4 - During the SM on Day 2 after the 11:37 chat (Saeyoung is with Rika) choose to not trust Vanderwood and leave Saeran alone (This CG is actually super pretty but sad as hell).

#43-44: Normal Ending/Alternative End - You’ll get these if you do everything leading up to the good ending but choose [Do not go save Saeran].

#47: Bad Story Ending 1 - Day 4 after the 02:16 chatroom (Escape - Success!) Basically I went through the whole route choosing the bad options: Supporting Rika, doubting Vanderwood, discouraging Saeran and his plan/being pessimistic about the results, (you will get hearts throughout this route, but they are bad ending hearts), and still bypass the Story Modes that will lead to other bad endings.

EDIT: A lot of people have asked me for more tips on how to get this ending! The problem I see most people having is that they try from days 2 or 3 to get this ending, but you will not be able to get it if you don’t start making the choices leading up to it from day 1. If you start too late you won’t be able to get enough bad ending hearts.

#48: Bad Relationship Ending - Also Day 4 after the 02:16 chatroom (I got this one by accident at first lol oops) basically either try and choose options that won’t gain you any hearts at all or ignore chatrooms. You could probably get it by doing no chat rooms at all for the first 3 days since there are no branches before day 4.

#49: Bad Story Ending 2 - If you are able to pass the first branch on Day 4 (the SM will be Jumin) pick the options “Looks like there’s nothing we can do…” and “I think I’ll stay here...”.

#50: Bad Story Ending 3 - You’ll get this during the SM on Day 4 after the 08:24 chat (Saeyoung is Back) if you choose to not follow V.

Now that I see people guessing over the flowers on the bedside, I remember that Suit Saeran birthday CG took place at MC's bedroom so I went back and somehow that flowers look a bit clearer there? Would that help you guys out? Or is it a completely different flowers? I literally had zero knowledge on flowers I don't know if this info is useful or not. But I do enjoy reading your analysis on the flowers though! -book anon-

Oh, you reminded me to go look at that! See, it might help out here but there's a strong chance that the flowers that Ray placed already died and Suit Saeran replaced them.

Ray mentions that he will remove dead flowers from the room and bring you new ones before you even realize that they're dying. So, he's on top of that, it's hard to say if Suit Saeran would do that. I doubt he would during the route if he wanted to upset you about Ray being gone. Like, if there’s wilting flowers... that means that you can’t truly forget Ray.

But, he could replace them on his birthday just to mess with you, by giving you flowers that mean something to impart a message that's undeniable. Ray is far gone and he’s never coming back and this is him making an example of you. I’m sure that he could replace the flowers with the same ones to try and reclaim the part of your memory that is connected with Ray. By doing what Ray did, he’s all but taking it for himself.

Now, let me take a look at that photo again to see if the hint is there for me to dispute an answer of some kind!

There’s gonna be a Saeran After Ending spoiler in this, too!

Now, we know 100% he's removed the flower pot from the center of the table for the puppet show but he's placed a red rose and a blue rose to symbolize himself and Ray. So, we're definitely going to get a larger picture of whatever he's done with those flowers. But, we can look at the bedside.

The lighting in the room is dark so I'll have to color sample and work around that to get a better idea of what we're working with. I feel like they're pink because I can see the tint here and it's got just enough saturation to it that makes me know it can't be white but it's light enough to throw you off. It could also be kind of this creamy peach color, or something in that spectrum. These don't look like any of the flowers I mentioned so it's interesting that you pointed this out since it's not clear if he replaced it or left it.

Okay, that’s interesting but the lighting is definitely going to be a major culprit in why we’re going to have trouble figuring out what’s going on here. So, the one in Suit Saeran’s photo is more of a purple-red tone. I sampled across the photo for clarity and got a mix of purple and dull reds. Whereas, when I sampled from the photos in the bedroom, I got a creamy color that leans more towards peach, so it has bits of pink and red in there. I wasn’t that off base in that realm.

So, I want to assume the lighting in the room is what makes that one look so off in the first place. The leaves are similar, the pot is similar, so we’re going to go to the fact that these are probably the same flowers. Now, if I were to guess what is the flower, I’ve got a clearer idea on what it is thanks to the artist who decided to put more detail on the flower instead of bunching it up in the corner and leaving it up to speculation.

Now, I know I’m looking for a peach flower so that’s kind of tough. I can count off four-five discernable petals so that helps a bit but not as much as you think it will in this case. I thought that maybe it could be a poppy since it’s got the spread as I’d assume, but it couldn’t a common poppy if that’s the case. I think it might be a California Poppy.

Now, I’ve got to say that we’ve seen a variety of Poppies in this game before since my brain jumped back to Saeran After Ending. There’s an ending in the AE where Saeran and Saeyoung are locked in an eternal sleep while they lay in a field of flowers where they likely won’t wake up again because Rika and V have drugged them out of their mind since they always try to escape and run away if they wake up at the same time.

Poppies symbolize eternal sleep. You know when Dorothy falls asleep in a field of flowers in the Wizard of Oz? Yeah, there’s a reason why Poppies are used as a warning sometimes. You’re trapped in a dream that seemingly may never end, and to assume that’s in the photo with Suit Saeran implies that there’s a lot to be said about whatever he’s feeling. He wants you to fall under his spell and give it up.

Give up on Ray.

Accept him.

Accept paradise.

If you just dream an eternal dream and give him what he wants, he won’t have to scream and fight to... well, he doesn’t know what he wants but maybe if he had a world of work to do that didn’t involve worrying about Rika taking away his toy to somewhere that he can’t reach... well, maybe he could figure out whatever it is he actually wants. But, dreams are dangerous.. .they don’t solve anything that’re on your mind. You can’t daydream and give up on reality.

You won’t be able to live.

So, that’s a tragic answer to what the flower might be.

Hey, there’s a strong chance that the flower in the photo is a lily. They can’t all be lilies in this photo because not all of them bend and shape like one from the side views. The flowers represent purity, innocence and rebirth, for one.

They’ve also got a strong connotation with religion and since Mint Eye is surrounded by a lot of Catholic iconography, we can’t ignore that. Lilies are often assumed with the Virgin Mary, meaning they’re tied to motherhood and femininity as well. He likes both equally! Saeran would surely dress with both since he has the tendency to dress primarily dark, yet there's always something soft about his outfits if you don't count Unknown and Suit's emo asses lolol~

Saeran likes being comfortable and wants to be warm, which makes him appreciate t-shirt and when it's getting cool, prefer shirts. I imagine it must've been cool in his office back at Magenta and his usual clothes still own this formal touch to them whenever he's not fully in peace with himself, it's leftover from Rika's dressing style she picked for him.

But you know what this question immediately made me think of? The Good Ending in his AE where he, MC and Saeyoung sit in the meadow! Or on the title cover of the AE as well!

Ik he's wearing a sweater with a shirt but I'm sure he also would just put on another T-shirt with shirt if desired 🎀
