Arrancar Ichigo AU! - Did anyone tell Ichi he's basically started courting Kisuke when he dropped off Aizen's corpse? Will Kisuke ever court him back?

I'm honestly torn between one fo the other Arrancar making a comment about Ichigo already choosing a mate and that clues him in onto what he's done and he just runs with it because yes, yes that sounds/feels right. And, eventually, Kisuke starts returning the gestures cause he did a deep dive into arrancar/hollow habits and uhhhh if Ichigo is courting him then he wants to be able to court back.

Ichigo doing it on purpose right from the get go because he was just gonna drop Aizen's corpse off but then he saw/smelt/felt Urahara and was immediately like !!!!!! and just goes full shameless with it.

Like, maybe the orphanage fucker sent middle school Atsushi there to be a dick because he knew he’d end up in E class or something

But he was there and eventually learned about his tiger there

And maybe some of the other kids ended up with abilities too and Korosensei had some connection to the book (maybe he was made with part of it? Idk)

And lets say they manage to save Korosensei and fake his death, probably with an ability

Then fast forward to Bsd

Atsushi still ends up with agency after saving Dazai from drowning because he learns that Fukuzawa can help him control his ability more than already does and he just genuinely likes helping people

And then the whole thing with Akutagawa happens and

I've been reading through your various 'Ready Made Family' posts - very interesting premise! And given Isshin's lack of parenting skills, it doesn't take much suspension of belief to imagine. I digress - my fav is UraIchi, of course, but I had a thought about Kyoraku's verse. (Besides how amazing Unohana is as Ichigo's mentor, that is.) In all the other ready made family verses, Ichigo at one point returns Urahara or Aizen's affection, or at least does things that point to her moving in that direction, like letting Kisuke babysit the twins. With Kyoraku, I get the impression that she has no interest whatsoever, and wouldn't care if he dropped dead. Does Kyoraku ever do something that changes her opinion of him/proves he's worthy of consideration for a romantic relationship?

Kyoraku starts to change his image in Ichigo's eyes the moment he legitimately gets serious about something.

Cause see here's the thing, their first introduction? Kyoraku comes right out the gate not only with the heavy-handed flirting but his word choice was less than good.

"Oh,” a voice, warm and husky and filled with a lazy kind of cheer, calls out then, “who’s this little beauty, Ichinose? Don’t tell me you’re taking her back to the 11th. Haven’t seen Kenpachi in a while but she’d be wasted on him.”

There are a couple of ways a statement like that could be taken and after so long spent working her ass off to take care of the girls with no male "protector" around? Needless to say Ichigo has run into those kinds of assumptions more than once in the past and has had to shut them down just as quickly.

Plus his general laidback attitude? That flirty, work-avoiding personality he puts forward to most everyone else? It doesn't come across well to Ichigo in the beginning thanks to Isshin-related trauma.

But let Kyoraku get serious? Let him show Ichigo that there's more to him than sake drinking and flirting? And that's when she'll start looking at him a bit differently.

De-pilled my sheet! It took forever since I basically had to go over every inch front and back and it's a good sized sheet. It's not perfect but it's no longer a sensory nightmare. Also all the bits that got removed, even strongly compacted, filled my hand so you can guess how bad it was.

Every time Ed meets an Arcobaleno, Reborn is foaming at the mouth and beating them off with a stick because that is his!!! Sky!!! Back!!! Off!!!

(On Ed’s part, he just thinks he’s beefing with all the Not Babies except Lal bc she reminds him on some level of Hawkeye and he’s not dumb enough to beef with anyone who even remotely resembles her)

Oh god yes. Reborn is pressed. Because yes the Arcobaleno are also His but goddamn it, he doesn't need them butting in on his business right now.

Meanwhile, Ed treats Lal like Hawkeye, ignores the fuck out of Colonnello's loud ass, gets along surprisingly well with Skull because Aestethic, is always |.| this close to punting Fon through a wall, thinks Viper is pretentious, thinks Reborn is Very Pretentious, and is ready to knife fight Verde's no ethics having ass in any parking lot at any time ever.

Meanwhile, they all find him some degree of delightful and fascinating.

Won’t accept any cannon in Full Metal Sky that isn’t Al being the only one to inherit Iemitsu’s height and build while Ed and Tsuna stay short and cute and dainty no matter how strong they are

(Ed ends up more pretty than cute but you get the jist, Al is tall and built like a brick wall while Ed and Tsuna are Not)

He’d hate (and love) them on principle

No one but Al understands his immediate distaste and irritated grumblings about colonel bastards and idiot princes when their brought up

Al thinks Ed is being dramatic

Ed's very first impression of Reborn is that if this fucking baby that's obviously not an actual fucking baby lays a single fucking hand on either of his brothers then Ed is going to teach that little fucker what his own elbows taste like.

The fact that Reborn acts as smooth as that Bastard always thought he was is just icing on top of Ed's already annoyed cake.

Until, of course, Reborn accidentally changes the game by threatening Tsuna with math.

Ed has Thoughts and Emotions about Math.

So so many of them.

And, as it turns out, so does Reborn.

Things kind of devolve from there into Ed and Reborn having the most chaotic love-hate relationship.

By the time Fon shows up Ed takes one look at his permanent smile and long braid and just slams the door in his face.

Al, who is just happy that at least this time he'll get to go through whatever shenanigans they've obviously become involved in with his body intact, is just vibing in the background.

They’re literally called Dying Will Flames and Ed basically embodies the indomitable human will

He quite literally killed and bargained with two different gods and escaped death who knows how many times through sheer force of will

No wonder the Arcobaleno want him so bad

Tsuna's Flames are Strong, stronger than any the Vongola has seen since Giotto himself.

Al is also Strong, terrifyingly so, but he's Quieter(TM) than either of his brothers.

And the moment that he realizes this new world with this new adorable brother is going to try and eat him and his??

Well, Ed has always been at his most power with something on the line.

Ed is a tsunami, a hurricane, a loving cataclysm in constant motion that draws you up and in and keeps you forever. If you're strong enough. If your own Flames can keep up.

A Sky capable of holding other Skies.

Ed could have held the Sky Pacifier for centuries if Kawahira had gotten his hands on him.

Of course the Arcobaleno want him.

So I am very early into this arc of Bleach, but Zangetsu’s complaint about Ichigou being the lack of greenery in his inner world is so funny to me.

The others are like you’re weak without me, you rely on me too much, you aren’t getting stronger like you say you are, etc

Sawada!Ed accidentally sky seducing Reborn into being his sun through loud and opinionated math and science arguments and sheer protective rage

(Ed & Al figure out the curse and how to fix it early perhaps? Ed got bad vibes from Kawahira and it reminded him of Truth)

The glory that would be Reborn arriving in Namimori fully intending to terrorize Tsuna into shape and realizing instead that, apparently, everyone forgot to mention that there are 3 Sawada sons instead of just 1.

And, what's more, is the fact that all three of them are connected in ways Reborn has never seen before.

3 breathtakingly strong Skies, interconnected in a massive intoxicating web of Harmony. Each supporting the other and being supported in turn.

It's magnificent.

If Reborn was anyone but himself he'd also call it terrifying.

Instead he's delighted.

Even if one of those Sky's is already completely fucking feral.

But then Reborn's never seen a bit of chaos he hasn't wanted to poke at and this one isn't any different.

And oh are the results glorious.

By the time Ed and Al finally get tired of ignoring the elephant in the room that is Reborn's Very Obvious Fucking Curse, Reborn is half gone in a way he'd long since given up hope on and is absolutely refusing to admit to.
