So I’m rewatching the Arlecchino animation and they did something that reminded of a topic I wanted to talk about. I would love for the anime to actually go through how some characters decide to manifest their powers cause from a gameplay perspective it’s tied to their weapon; but any vision holder could more or less do the same tricks as another

Amber in the WEBTOON just uses her hand sometimes or ignites rocks. She even lit Jeans sword on fire which all seems pretty simple, but then in game text talks about how Barron Bunny explodes because she’s using targeted pyrokinesis to ignite the powder inside. How did that thought occur?

At one point did Diluc think “I can throw out a phoenix.” And at any point he can grab a bow if he wanted and do flame arrows. So many moves are teachable to varying degrees!

They can make swords and shields pretty effortlessly. I would love episodes of the anime where the characters just practice doing things because they saw someone else do it. You can’t tell me Bennett didn’t see Jean make a healing circle and think “Hold on…that’s a thing? Can I do that?” If I was Collei the first thing I’m learning is a dendro shield. It’s all fun and games until Sara just decides to lightning punch you in your throat because that’s an option.

In Mutually Assured Destruction: you’ll get Stubborn no matter what. He’s your want to match up to the princess, to rise and meet her as an equal no matter how much you have to struggle to get there.

In The Empty Cup: it’s Contrarian. His your individuality, your want to break free from the roles and orders pushed on you, and through that, through throwing away the object that determined your role in this story, you can show her there are other avenues to explore.

Edit: I have done a goof and forgot it’s actually Hunted who you get in MAD no matter what LMAO. Still makes sense tho, as he’s our innate need to survive and adapt, always changing to match what she can throw our way. With his capability to observe and learn and try again, we can match the torrent of blades thrown our way and finally rise to meet her.

Damsel feels like the specific Vessel that all the others would refrain from being cruel or mean towards. Like she is at least on neutral grounds with every last one of them. Let's go over the Vessels from most to least "Hostile" lets go in order. (I am leaving out Chapter 3's that are mostly unchanged from their Chapter 2 form, such as Eye of needle and Den)

-Hostile initially-

Fury would see Damsel as something...off. The bottom of her dress soaked in blood, as she sits on a random tumor sticking up from the ground and smiles up at her. Fury would not want to test her.

Beast would react to Damsel the same way a lioness reacts to a baby wildebeast that doesn't run, but instead nuzzles up to her. With confusion and hesitation. She wouldn't know what to do with someone so, unafraid.

Wraith would simply not interect with her, prefering to brood angrily alone. Damsel's very presence would make Wraith recall her happier days, and hurt her.

Nightmare would get no thrill out of hurting someone who doesn't even consider fighting back or being afraid. She would grow bored and apethetic to Damsel very quickly. Treating her more akin to a potted plant than a conversation partner from then on.

Witch would be bewildered by someone like Damsel, someone soo genuine. She would see this easily betrayable vessel and feel a form of sympathy for her. Being like a cool older cousin that looks out for you while also teaching you new swear words for fun.

-Neutral initially-

Burned Grey would feel like she reminds them of better days and act like a responsible mentor figure,

Drowned would just think Damsel is naive and too chipper and ignore her akin to Wraith.

Wild would not directly interact with Damsel in any way. But in her woods, Damsel would always find a cleae way in and out, free from any harrasment by the more aggresive animal life within it.

Razor would stab her. But when Damsel ran out of "new things to show her" while being stabbed, Razor would basically be like Damsel's shadow. Learning to imitate Damsel to better pretend to be normal, but otherwise, wouldn't think too much of her.

Thorn would not trust Damsel, as she doesn't trust anyone initially. But Damsel being willing to sit at the edge of her brambles and chat does slowly earn her that trust. Damsel would be the first friend that Thorn makes among the other Vessels.

Deconstructed just wants to make her happy!

-Friendly initially-

Adversary would bring Damsel along with her to any competition as her own personal cheerleader. And if the event went well, would treat Damsel to some some form of sweet treat on the way out. Damsel would also be the only one that would willingly taste test Adversary's new workout diet ideas.

Tower would demand Damsel praise her, worship her, as she does all others. Damsel would gladly do so, and the two would become fast friends. Tower would treat Damsel like a treasured song bird who always sings the right tune.

Prisoner is well aquainted with her twins peculiarities. They get along great, but also know to take some time to enjoy being away from the other. Absence makes the heart grow fonder after all...not to mention Prisoner does NOT like being confused for her sister, even momentarily.

Specter and Damsel would be having slumber parties and doing eachothers nails by the end of day 1. Best friends, secret handshakes, inside jokes, the works.

Stranger appreciates that Damsel is willing to address all of themself, and not just one face. This earns her the trust and friendship of even her Monsterous facet. Something no one else has done, while being liked by the other facets of herself.

They would have one thing in common and that's Razor. So Here is my theory bc im dying on this hill idc hyv

After the Weinlesefest event we get crumbs of everyone's deadbeat parents, Varka is to Razor and Rosaria a father figure and he knew Razor's parents who were adventures from Mondstadt.

How does Cyno fit here? weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell I don't think they are bio related but since Cyno doesn't have any voicelines about his family lets assume its the same case as Rosaria, since Razor's parents are adventurers they probably went to Sumeru and met Cyno before Razor was born. Sounds like a stretch i know~

But listen Cyno and Razor's constellations are similar, and both have "spirit possession" as their kit. The other theory, that will make them brothers in canon, is if those spirits ARE the brothers. Its just kinda sus we get this even just as Cyno gets released, and it wasn't during Nilou's run as I thought they'd do but right after we met Cyno.

The issue here is that we have almost to nothing about this, and won't have more about Razor (i assume) until Varka gets back to Mondstadt whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiich I think will happen when we go to Fontaine which is through Mondstadt. Unless we get something from Cyno, eh we'll have to wait a long time🤷‍♀️

Ok so for now I'll treat this as an AU, I absolutely love it, Razor was one of my first units and Cyno is one of the newest so I'm happy to play with both and I hope y'all enjoy my silly AUs haha thanks for reading✨

(AKA some headcanons)

Kazuha & Razor:

Seems like a random combo but hear me out:

They both have a connection to nature and especially smells

Imagine Razor meeting Kazuha for the first time

"Smell like... cool breeze,"

"Thank you, my friend, you carry the scent of rock warmed in afternoon sunlight"

Instant besties

Razor's eyes light up, and whenever he's with Kazuha he likes to point out smells even more then usual because he feels like they're bonding

Although Kazuha uses a lot of words and phrases that Razor doesn’t understand, the poet is very patient, and is always willing to teach his fellow nature affiliate something new

Razor feels like he's gained a new teacher, and observes the way Kazuha seems so connected to nature but is still very much human, which helps the wolf-boy explore that balance in himself

Kazuha admires the simplicity and honesty with which Razor carries himself, never needing more than what the world provides him

Also Kazuha always understands what Razor's trying to say or do no matter how few words he uses

Kaveh & Bennett

Bad luck babies

They find out their mutual bad luck when Kaveh off-handedly complains about his debt, and Bennett immediately goes to comfort him, saying how he’s sure it’ll get better eventually, and hey! Everyone has avalanches chase them sometimes, and the occasional lightning strike to the skull!

Kaveh sighs: “Thanks, but I don’t think any metaphor will equate to my problems,”

“What do you mean metaphors?”

…

“You were using metaphors, right? Right, Bennett?”

He was not

But I imagine that once they get talking about their luck and especially their attitudes towards it, they really find a lot of interest in each other

Kaveh would hugely admire how Bennett always bounces back, always smiling and never afraid to keep going and keep feeling despite all the terrible occurrences he goes through each day

Bennett finds such solidarity in knowing an adult who’s plagued with bad luck, who is still incredibly successful. Bennett admires how Kaveh is renowned and famed throughout Sumeru for his work, and is a kind soul in his daily life, even with the troubles he has. Even though Bennett doesn’t think he needs to be famous, it’s nice to have real proof that even if he’s unlucky, he could still lead a great life

Klee & Xiao

Xiao would obviously be a bit standoffish at first

Klee views him as another one of those weird adults that doesn’t smile or talk, but she still trusts him innately

I like to think Klee is genuinely a good judge of character, and even if she finds someone weird, she feels that it doesn’t mean they can’t be a great person

Klee once asks Xiao to hold Dodoco for her while she tries to catch a frog in some mud, since Albedo’s always telling her to be careful with things she cares a lot about

Xiao is slightly stunted by the request and the bright smile that comes with it, but nods dutifully and carefully takes the little plush in his hands

Klee runs off to play, and when she gets back she’s more than pleased to see that Xiao is holding Dodoco to his chest, cupping him carefully and keeping him upright

Some adults just don’t respect Dodoco like Xiao does (Klee has had the terrible experience of people tucking Dodoco under their arm like a book! Not a good holder; one star review)

Upon returning to reclaim her friend, Klee gives Xiao as big a hug as her tiny arms can muster, and though Xiao’s eyes widen and his shoulder stiffen, he lets the small girl embrace him

Klee appreciates the respect Xiao shows her, even though she's small and young

Xiao is careful of how his karmic debt might affect this innocent child but lets himself relax at how Klee unabashedly loves the world. It inspires him to try loving more openly

Venti & Kaveh

So what if I’ve already put Kaveh on this list this is my post I do what I want

Sadge alcoholics with ✨dramatic tendencies ✨

You know they have the best stories tho

When these two come together, every room they enter is a party or every room they enter is a crying support room filled with regrets

Either way the room is filled with wine

Their energy is contagious and they can lead crowds of people to begin partying on a random Tuesday afternoon

But when they're in their feels, they look at each other with the understanding and empathy that they each wish they could gain from others in their lives

When Venti's soft voice carries out a melancholy ballad, Kaveh is the first to start crying

When Kaveh begins drunk rambling about his life, Venti's the one to pat his back, smiling softly despite the deep and old emotion his eyes hold

They hold a mutual and quiet understanding of the simultaneous pain and wonderment that living can bring that I think would be really interesting to see play out

Jean & Kokomi

I feel like if they met initially it would be all business

Discussions on foreign trade, sharing experiences from issues that have arisen in the past

All very professional

That is until either of them slips just a tiny bit about how freaking tired they are, and the other perks up and starts trying to subtly find out more

“Hm, it is a great honour to serve the people of Watatsumi Island, although I wish I had the energy to do more in a day,”

*cue Jean realising she may have just found an overworked buddy*

“Yes, I feel the same about the Knights of Favonius, there is always more to accomplish, though Lisa is always telling me to take more time to myself, although I don’t know how I could.”

“Exactly!” *cough* “I mean, yes, I understand how worrisome that must be.”

They silently sip their tea simultaneously, carefully fixing their posture

And then suddenly begin ranting and confiding in each other about how much they always have on their plate

Overall very cute relationship, they start off distanced by duty, and then become besties once they realise their common ground

Imagine them each making sure the other isn’t working too hard!

And they always listen to each other even if they don’t listen to others who tell them to take breaks because they know the other understands completely just how much they have to do

DPxDC Ramble: "Lazarus Green"

So there's something that's been on my mind, and another post kind of just reminded me of it, but a lot of fics involving the batboys and Danny rely on the batboys being bad detectives... vvhich is kind of vveird?

vvhat do I mean by that?

there are certain conclusions they make in the fandom that rely on something looking like something else, and these are kind of staples of the fandom. Jumping to clone in tvvin au's, the VVayne bait joke despite half of gotham having those features, and of course Lazarus green

This mostly comes up in reference to Danny's eyes, or looking at ectoplasm and saying it's Lazarus vvater based on the color. Sure, Lazarus pits are green, but literally so are half the chemical batman rogues use. Venom? Green. Joker Venom? Green. The vat of acid/chemicals joker fell into? Green. And more! There are so many green and vaguely glovving chemicals in Gotham that the tap vvater is probably green. There isn't a "Lazurus green" because them being green is the least notable thing about them

it's fine to headcanon them as the same because vve as the fans and creators for this fandom can totally just say it is, but it's bad detective vvork for the family of detectives to make that assumption. It's literally having chemists only identify a chemical by it's color and not any of it's other traits. How it reacts/behaves vvith other materials is infinitely more useful, plus the actual chemical composition

there are more normal conclusions they are going to rule out first before jumping to extreme conclusions

Tvvin au? Mistake them for the other or just think they look alike, clone isn't totally out of the question, but it probably shouldn't be the first conclusion they come to

Glovving "Lazurus green" eyes? Odd to make the comparison, plenty of metas have glovving green eyes

Ectoplasm? An unidentified chemical until it is identified.

there are just simpler conclusions the bats are going to come to first is my point. They are detectives, you don't have to vvrite a detective story, you just need to remember that they are actually good at actual deductive reasoning. Let them explore more logical options first before spiraling into paranoia and conspiracies surrounding Danny

razor sat among his pack, absentmindedly picking leaves or shedding pieces of fur from their coats whenever he got bored. night watch was quiet, peaceful, an easy time to think when opposed to the busy bustle of daytime. though it wasn’t good for him to take every watch, he did volunteer for them more often than the other wolves.

the night was calm, the trees thin enough to allow enough light through that he could see, but thick enough that no enemies should see him sitting up in the cave. occasionally a wind would sweep through, a chill creeping up his arms, but he would simply sink them into whoever’s fur was closest and wait for the wind to pass. it always did, even in mondstat.

razor stood up, carefully picking his way out of the cave. at the mouth, he stretched, feeling his gloves brush the stone at the top. one downside of night watch was the tension that came with constantly being on alert. it was a necessary evil, as a sleeping pack was a vulnerable one, and he was always sure to rid of any excess. the last thing he needed was a cramp or a strained muscle when an enemy-

leaves rustled, and he barely had to think before reaching for his claymore, already on the handle and ready to pull.

the bushes were still. it could be a squirrel, or a bird. something harmless. small. it was rare, but it had happened before, and that detail alone kept him from waking the others.

when the intruder appeared, it was not a clear threat. but, it was no squirrel either. it came from above, a second sun falling from the branches in slow motion. it spun in midair as he watched, ridding itself of the leaf that had landed on top of it.

razor hesitated. did he call it? it… seemed harmless, drifting towards him at a lazy pace. the wind picked up, from the star towards him, carrying a familiar smell. so it was from someone he knew…

carefully, he let the ball fall into his cupped hands, looking up at where it came from. the leaves would occasionally part, but he didn’t see anybody or anything up there. just the night sky, with a few falling stars streaking across the thin patches he could see.

stars…

he looked back down at his hands, but the ‘star’ was gone. two small doll-like plushes rested in his hands, attached to hooks and laying on a bed of paper, with lettering for sheets. the figures looked familiar, but he quickly turned his attention to the words themselves.

your letter wasn’t long, but with the amount of times he reread it it might have been. he knew you—just because he lived with the wolves didn’t mean he wasn’t aware of the one who made them, boreas would have his hide otherwise—but not why you would send him a letter. he did not need your writing to know he was one of your favored. he did not need a star to tell him he was cared for. you had done that on your own, with your kind words when bringing him and bennett on your journey, when you blessed him with claws of iron and teeth of thunder.

still, he held your gifts close, smiling slightly at your drawing. maybe, you would come visit him in wolvendom, and his lupical would be complete.

Considering her connection to stranger and similarity to nightmare/MoC what do you think razor says about slim shifty personally?

Both relentlessness and joy.

Razor is an almost unstoppable force, capable of incredible acts of violence, and she knows that and loves it.

She also finds your own struggle against her to be fun, entertaining, even as you fail again again, you keep coming back and trying again. And she also loves that.

You are the only thing willing to stand up against her, and she likes you for it (very openly)! She’s cruelty but also joy, she finds fulfillment in your eternal dance. And you can either grow into something that can match her relentlessness and finally dance on equal foot, or you can become more, so connected to your own nature that you’re capable of humbling her.

To me, this just goes to show how Shifty truly enjoys when you stand in opposition to her, even in that final battle (especially in that final battle), struggle is what makes things interesting, after all, and she takes great joy in this aspect of your relationship.
