You've said before that you're a Marvel/MCU fan. I'm curious, what are your favorite MCU movies?

Thing is... I only got into the MCU around 2011, with Thor. And even then, I wasn't really interested until the first Avengers film came out.

At my core, I'm an X-Men movies fan. Those were the superhero films I originally liked, still love them all except for Dark Phoenix and New Mutants (and even then, I forgive those two for being butchered through reshoots, due to Disney acquiring 20th Century Fox).

Before I actually got into Marvel comics in general, I had only read a few comic collections released by the italian Repubblica newspaper.

So I was familiar with classics like Days of Future Past, Frank Miller's Daredevil stories, I knew who characters like Cassandra Nova and Franklin Richards were, but I wasn't more of a reader than a fan.

Then I read the first volume Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men (also in Italian), and wow, the X-Men are actually interesting and 3-dimensional. Okay.

Then, years later, I come across a French issue of Wolverine that collected (1 French issue collects 2-3 American issues):

Final part of the Deadpool arc of Wolverine: Origins.

And the following issue had the first part of Old Man Logan.

So immediately I have a whole bunch of questions. Wolverine has a son?! And who is this hilarious Spider-Man lookalike? Wait, so Mystique and Wolverine are how old? And woah, wtf, why are Hulk's kids such assholes? And who's this blind archer dude?

And boom, I'm down the rabbit hole.

But with that context, it's easy to see why, for me, there hasn't ever been an MCU film that ranked above an 8/10, bar a few exceptions.

I'll enjoy them because I enjoy the genre, so most MCU films will rank between 5 and 8. I like RDJ's Iron Man, Ruffalo's Hulk is an adorable nerd, Loki is cool, etc, but those films just don't feature the characters I fell in love with.

I can acknowledge that Winter Soldier is objectively a good film. Black Panther is an excellent one too. But they're both 8/10 in my book, no more. Put Wolverine in Winter Soldier or Ororo in Black Panther and I'd give those films a 10.

The above-mentioned exceptions - in terms of what got the best emotional reactions out of me - are:

Avengers - Infinity War (9/10) and Endgame (10/10, I don't care what anyone says, when I went to see it on opening night, the audience in the AMC Theater was louder and wilder than that of a football stadium and I'm here for that! Geek power!)

Prompt: a fun day and dinner with Chris

Warnings: SMUT, cussing, AGAIN SMUT, horrible writing

Authors note: ok I cannot do this. To everyone who can write smut: I respect you. It sucks ass but i needed to get this part out. I hope you like it!

the alarm went off. It wasn’t mine. His arms were still around me, holding me tight. I groaned and turned to face him. He smiled at me, his eyes barely open.

“Hello” he said

“Hi” I said smiling back

“Hi”

“Are you gonna turn that alarm off?”

“Hmmmmm”

“Yes the answer is yes”

He laughed and rolled over to turn it off. He turned back to face me “I set it so you wouldn’t be late to work, again”

“I both thank and hate you for that” i said

He kissed my forehead “you should get up”

“I don’t wanna”

He sat up and pulled me up with him “come on”

I groaned and leaned into him

He hummed and kissed my neck “go”

“Noooo”

“Yes go”

I groaned and got out of the bed. I opened the door to leave, I looked back taking one last look at him and smiled.

I quickly set up breakfast, trying my hardest to avoid collin. Everyone except Chris came down. They were definitely hung over. Anthony could barely walk and RDJ was wearing sunglasses and bright pink socks. I informed them that Chris had told the maid he wasn’t feeling good and needed to spend the day on the boat and rest. I encouraged them to not waist the day and practically shoved them off the boat. Much to their dismay.

One they had left I went and got Chris to come down.

I knocked on the door “they’re gone”

The door swung open “thank god”

He picked me up and pushed me against the wall behind me. He kissed me hard.

“What are you doing?” I asked in between kisses

He stopped and smiled at me “pick a room.”

“What?”

“Pick a room on this yacht”

“Why?”

“Just do it”

“Fine the kitchen”

He let go of me. I practically fell to the ground.

“Hey!”

“Lead the way”

I looked at him. Wtf was this man doing. I began walking toward the kitchen.

“Keep up this pace and we will arrive next month”

“Jeez ok” I began walking faster until we arrived outside the door to the kitchen.

I turned around and stopped him.

“What are we doing?” I asked

“You will see”

“No I wanna know now” I crossed my arms

“Do you trust me?”

“Well I mean yes but-“

“Ok then”

I groaned and turned to open the door. “Ok here we are, the much anticipated kitchen, now what?”

Suddenly his lips were connect with mine again. His hands holding my face, moving through my hair. Then they roamed down to my thighs.

“Jump” He whispered. I did. He lifted me up onto the counter and began kissing my neck. I moaned. He was so good at this.

“Y/n?” He asked

“Yes?”

“You wanted to know what we are doing? Well this is what’s gonna happen.” He looked into my eyes “I’m going to fuck you so hard that you won’t be able to walk for the rest of the week, and you are going to do exactly what I tell you to do. Do you understand?”

I nodded “yes yes i understand”

“Ok then” he smiled and then Started kissing me again.

I wanted this. I wanted him so badly. The kisses were getting more and more heated. His hands moved up and under my shirt. He paused to quickly to take it off. My shirt was throw across the room. I giggled at his agressiveness. He smiled and then started kissing me again. His hands found his way back to my now bare torso. They moved to my back where they found the clip of my bra. His swiftly unclipped it and then began guiding my lace bra off my body. He again threw it across the room. He pulled back to look at my perky breasts

“God” he shook his head

I giggled “like what you see?”

His eyes widened “yes, haha yes i do” he moved to kiss my neck. I moaned as he began leaving Hickies all over my neck and collar bone. He pulled off his shirt revealing his perfectly carved torso. He started kissing my neck again and my hands roamed along his smooth chest. He moved up to my jaw and then to my lips. Kissing and biting them. He bent down to level with my breasts. Then, he began kissing and hitting them. I played with his hair and he looked up at me. His eyes were filled with both lust and love. We were both breathless.

Chris kneeled down and moved his hands up my skirt that was scrunched. His hands found the rims of my panties and they began to slowly move my panties down. It was painfully slow. The anticipation. Fuck. Finally they were on the floor next to my shirt and bra. I spread my legs just so slightly so he knew what I wanted.

“A little more baby, I need space to do my work”

I spread my legs wider. Then, he buried his head in between my legs. He kissed up my inner thigh. Then he finally reached the place I had been waiting for. His tongue moved across my clit. Teasing me. He moved his arms under my legs and lifted them up onto his shoulders. I moved my hands into his hair. I moaned when he slid his tongue inside me. God he was so good at this. He moved his hands to my ass, pulling me closer. He was doing something with his tongue though I couldn't tell you what. But whatever it was, I liked it. I liked it so much. “Fuck” he kissed me, he kissed me so hard my head almost hit the cabinet behind me. Then he resumed his thrust. They kept getting deeper, harder, faster. I moaned when he hit my G-spot.

“Me too” I moaned again. Oh my god.

His last thrusts went by too quickly. They were deep and fast.

“Fuck I’m gonna cum, captian” I moaned

The last ones. Fuck I couldn’t hold it.

He came inside me and with two final thrusts, he pulled out. He leaned back on the island behind him. I jumped off the counter and adjusted my skirt. I walked over to grab my panties, bra and shirt.

That night we ate dinner together on the deck. Candles and takeout because of well, collin. We sat across from each other laughing.

“So you’re telling me you decided to go to cullinary school when you almost BURNED DOWN YOUR HOUSE WHILE TRYING TO COOK?!” Exclaimed chris

“Haha yup”

“I can’t decide if that’s inspiring or really horrible”

“Um, obviously really inspiring! Yeah, I should have a ted talk. Lecture all about common sense and how it’s so rare nowadays that it should be considered a superpower”

He laughed “and you know all about common sense”

“Uh yeah, did you not hear the story I told you? I had a problem so I fixed it. Common. Sense.”

“Right yeah obviously” he sipped his wine

“Haha, so tell me about YOU. Like something google doesn’t know”

“Well that’s gonna be hard”

“Come onnnnn”

“Ok ok. Well my first kiss, it was actually a dare in seventh grade. 7 minutes in heaven.” He raised his eyebrows

“Oh wow, that’s-that's fantastic congratulations. Your kids are gonna love that story.”

“Shut up.”

“Ok tell me something else” I Leaned in

“My first crush was my babysitter”

“Pft along with every other person ever”

“The first time I got drunk I jumped off a roof into a pool singing the spiderman theme song”

I laughed “and then you became captain america”

“Yup pretty ironic isn’t it?”

“Yeah” I laughed. “Pass the fried rice?”

He handed it to me “my lady”

I gasped “thank you good sir”

We both laughed.

i woke up quietly. feeling happy and well rested. i moved chris’ arm off of me and i climed out of the bed. i grabbed my clothes and quickly and quietly put them on. i walked into the kitchen and as i turned the corner i bumped right into collin.

“fuck! jesus y/n!” he yelled

“shhhhh! jeez i’m sorry, i didn’t see you”

he scoffed “yeah i know”

i rolled my eyes and walked past him. i grabbed the plates, utensils and napkins out of the cabinets to set the table.

“y/n”

“what do you want collin?” i turned to face him

“i need to show you something” he held his phone in his hand

“what is it?” i walked over to him and grabbed his phone. i had been opened to an article titled “Chris Evans on a date? We smell scandal!” the picture was from last night. he was mid laugh and i was drinking my wine. it was hard to see my face but anyone who knew me would recognize me.

“fuck” i said “shit!”

“i’m sorry” said collin

“like hell you are! you don’t understand how hard it is for chris!”

“hah i think you mean how hard it is for yourself” he said snatching his phone back

“you act all undertanding of this secrecy but i know you Y/N, you hate that you can’t hold hands in front of RDJ, you think about it before you go to sleep how you are just a stewardess! i understand chris, i don’t understand you and why you put up with it.” he walked out of the room

“UGHHH FUCK!” i grabbed the plates aggressively and walked out. i had fucking work to do and i sure as hell wasn’t going to let some stupid article distract me.

everyone was sitting. everyone was eating the delicious breakfast burritos collin had made. everyone except chris. he hadn’t come out to eat and it was almost 10. once everyone else finished and went back to their rooms to get ready i left to go get chris. i put some fruit on a plate so he could eat something. I walked up to his room and went to knock on the door. I stopped myself when I heard his frustrated voice coming from the room.

“It's not what it looks like!….no you don’t understand! Hey, stop!……listen to me i promise nothing is happening between me and that girl! She’s just some chick who kept pestering me!…Jesus sam! Come on!” I swallowed the knot that rose in my throat. I knocked on the door.

“chris?” the door swung open

“y/n” i couldn’t tell if he was surprised or relieved that i was there.

“hey, are you ok? who was that?”

he looked directly into my eyes. “that was…” he sighed “that was Sam, my girlfriend.”

And some website called Mail Online blaming fans on overreaction. Wtf man. Idk whose side is fueling this. Just release the wedding pictures at this point and go their merry way. this was a strong year… I only thought one of the movies didn’t deserve to be in contention at all (looking at YOU, maestro). brief thoughts on each under the cut :)

1) poor things: literally so good. performances were amazing; I loved the universe they created and the script and the SCORE and costuming and everything about it. only thing it was missing was a period scene but I didn’t even mind the lack

2) the zone of interest: haunting and bleak film.. did an amazing job creating an atmosphere and keeping it compelling even though it didn’t have much plot in and of itself. terrifying. the soundscape they made?? jesus

3) oppenheimer: the first hour or so dragged for sure. but I loved how it all came together at the end — the payoff was worth it. cillian and rdj were great and so was the cinematography. Ik it’s going to win everything and like I won’t be mad abt it but also I don’t think it was the movie of the year

4) I was enthralled the whole time. kept me so entertained. stellar performances and amazing script. miss sandra hüller and the kid were phenomenal,,, and the dog???????? wtf???? jesus????

5) the holdovers: man I loved parts of this. It was so heartwarming and giamatti, sessa, and randolph were so good. but ultimately it dragged a bit in the first half and for some reason it didn’t put me in my feelings like I wanted it to. still great though with some amazing lines

6) barbie: this was so fun overall. Obviously gosling was great, and the production design and costuming were stellar. I like that the academy is recognizing fun comedies like this. It wasn’t perfect; its take on feminism wasn’t perfect. It was ambitious, but not quite as ambitious as some others. But it was fun and an all around good time!

7) killers of the flower moon: man I wanted to like this more than I did. It was still an amazing story and a great film. and all the acting (especially gladstone’s) was stellar. I just don’t think it needed to be 3.5 hours, and I like long movies. I just wanted to see more of mollie honestly and less of dicaprio’s character, though in the end it was a very good movie

8) good movie, witty satire — brown and wright were great. I almost died laughing at parts. I was ready to give it a much higher rating but at the very very end (I won’t spoil it) they just lost me, and it kind of soured the whole thing just a tinge. Still worth watching though!!

9) past lives: this was very well made and well acted, but it just didn’t really resonate with me

10) maestro: I did Not like this movie. It had nothing to say. It was clearly made by someone who loved bernstein, but it also seemed intent on telling us nothing about him except things that portrayed him a bad light, and even then it showed us only unimportant scenes in which they talked vaguely about important events… carey mulligan was amazing, and I’ve never seen more convincing practical aging effects, but those were much the only good things about it

Doctor Strange 2 : Multiverse of Madness. My Personal Review.

Are you sure this is not a horror movie?

Just come back from (finally) watching our beloved Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse Of Madness and I’ll try to make a quick review here. Spoiler alert~~

Disclaimer: I write this post without doing any online research regarding with MCU’s future plan nor do I remember about issues and news about MCU before this movie aired. I just can’t wait to blabbering here. I just watched MoM once so please forgive me if I say something wrong here about this fandom or skipping many important things from the movie. Still, it’s gonna be a loooooooonngggg pooooosstt~~

Like some of my favorite movies, MoM started with actions and monsters. Make it hard for me to just catch a breath and sit back to relax (which also the reason why I love this movie). The opening had caught my attention, the animation was superb (though it made me a bit dizzy because of the dimensions), but what made me excited was the surprise I got when I found the Illuminati members!

John Krasinski was there! Now I just need my candles to manifest Emily Blunt to join the MCU. So I can have my favorite couple in my favorite movie together as a partner. Lol.

Not only Mr. Fantastic, there were also some people like Black Bolt, Capt. Carter, and Prof. X that really surprises me but sadly they have to die too soon. And, tbh, I was disappointed on how they died, especially Mr. Fantastic and Black Bolt. I was like, “Just like that? That easy?”

Even my brother said, “Why did they kill them? It’s too bad.” But then I remember that (CMIIW) the MCU have their future project regarding with Fantastic Four and Inhuman movies. So, did they kill them so they can use them for a movie in MCU? In Marvel Earth-616?

Speaking of Earth-616, this info had caught me off guard. I mean, the MCU is Earth-616? Tf? I thought it was official that MCU is Earth-19999 until I watched this movie and I just can’t accept it. Let me watch/read many theories and explanations after posting this so my mind can rest assure.

But still, the RDJ Tony Stark is officially the same person as Anthony Edward Stark from Earth-616? Wtf man? What about the Civil War? It happened super differently between those two Earths. And their personality is waaaaaaayyy too different.

Okay, let’s take a deep breath and shift our focus on something else, which is, ‘Are you sure this is not a horror movie?’

Thank goodness it wasn’t directed by James Wan or I won’t survive watching it ‘till the end.

The thing is, I. Hate. Jump scare. Hate it with all my life. And zombie is a big no no for me. Thankfully, this movie has both. Yeap, both jump scare and zombie so thank you very much for scaring me throughout the movie. And the most unforgettable moments are mostly from Scarlet Witch.

First was when she crawled out from the reflection dimension, reminded me with the beautiful Kayako from Ju-On movie. The second was when she attacked Prof. X from behind. And last but not least, was when she suddenly appeared at the tunnel when she chased our protagonist trio.

And as for Dr. Strange, what terrified me was when he rose from the grave. I swear, among all of the MCU movies and series I ever watched, nothing is as scary as this one. I remember vividly that there are still many scary scenes from the movie but here I try my best to forget them so please don’t force me to remember.

There are also still many plot holes and things that I don’t understand especially when I try to connect each MCU movie or series with this movie. So maybe I’ll be going to take a deep dive to learn again about this fandom. Btw it’s been a while since the last time I swim in MCU’s fandom. Wish me luck, ne?

The thing that makes me sad about this movie is the fact that I have to say goodbye to Scarlet Witch, one of my MCU heroine favorites. Maybe forever? I know what she did is wrong, but I also pity her. Especially if you also watched Wanda Vision, you’ll understand just how miserable Wanda’s life is in MCU.

I love this movie, but still, I want justice for Wanda. My beloved heroine had to die as a villain because of something she longed for. It makes me sad just thinking about it. But maybe, just, maybe, she isn’t death? Like Wanda in the comic who is not die but had her memory lost instead? Whatever it is, I hope the MCU will bring back Wanda and give her a chance to clear off her name.

As about the ending of the movie, when the credit scene rolled, people will think that the second credit scene means nothing, so do I. But then I thought, what if, that man’s sentences, means something? My brother said that Dr. Strange 3 will be the last movie, which makes this movie stand as a trilogy. Like Iron man and Capt. America movie series.

So, can I assume that what that man said is probably foreshadowing what will happen with this movie series? Or what will happen to Strange himself? Or maybe I’m just being one of Oda-sensei’s victim and read too much One Piece’s theory? Lol.

Okay I’ll stop here. The thing is, I don’t care what people say about this movie, not even my brother, because I love this movie. Yes, I feel that the story is not long enough. Yes, there are many plot holes especially when I try to connect this movie with another MCU’s movies or series.

Yes, I was, and still is, disappointed with what happen to Wanda. But I LOVE this movie like many MCU movies or series I ever watch. I can’t wait for another MCU in the future.

My rate for this movie? 9/10. Sorry for the grammar mistakes and mostly, wrong tenses. Ciao.
