I’m a big fan of the idea that Hosea’s ghost torments Dutch after the events of rdr2. In fact I love the idea that Dutch sees many folks as ghosts.

I can imagine Dutch going insane slowly because he knows he sees Hosea whether it’s a glance of him, a split second in a mirror he’s sure Susan’s staring back at him with red anger in her eyes. From the corner of his eyes he sees Molly weeping. Annabel he sometimes hears her voice whisper in his ear to save her from whatever cruel fate befell her in the end. But Arthur’s he hears in his head, like the voice of reason, along with Hosea’s angry beratement.

Whether it’s really the matter of his psyche or actual ghostly things at play is unknowable to him.

Dutch who’s terrorized in his own head by the once familiar voices of those he’s doomed along the way.

The small abandoned mining tow is a light in the dark to you all. It certainly isn't perfect but at least there is a foot over your heads and fire in the hearth.

everyone's main goal is to keep warm. you're low on food, money and there are all sorts of other problems, but Dutch cant have anyone else dying from the cold.

You stand in his cabin trying to warm yourself by the fireplace. Your limbs tingle and itch from the cold. your cheeks and nose are rosy.

A gust of cold wind blows onto your back as the cabin door opens, causing you to shiver. Dutch steps inside and quickly shuts the door behind him.

Dawned in his large fur coat, cheeks and nose red, frost settled on his mutache.

Rubbing his hands together he joins you by the fire. "Staying warm My Dear?" He asks.

"Trying to."

You take his freezing fingers into your warm hands and blow hot air onto them. Dutch takes his hands away and reaches to remove his gun belt. He sets it on a chair and opens his coat. "Dutch I'm fine you don't have to-" he interrupts you with a chuckle.

"Come here." he smiles.

Your face lights up and you quickly walk into his inviting warmth. he immediately closes the coat behind you and wraps it tightly around the two of you. You wrap your arms around his waist and rest your head on his chest.

Dutch shuffles closer to the fire. he nuzzles his nose into your hood and sighs in content.

something just came to mind, iirc in chapter 6 before the last mission or something or during it idk, arthur asks dutch "what about the boy?!" (referring to jack possibly losing abigail) and dutch answers "what about him?" to me this feels like it implied that dutch would take jack in and raise him as his own just like he did with the arthur and john but this time without any of the guidance of hosea (and a mentally stable dutch, he changed a lot over the game) and instead micah's guidance. as in they wouldve raised a "terminator" style jack, a pure meat shield with no distinct wills or wants

thinking about drawing that in like an AU or something

Out of all the content rockstar cut out with RDR2 why didn't they just cut molly out instead because it's not like she does much impact to the game/story. ALL I WANT IS DUTCH AND HOSEA TO BE HAPPY TOGETHER BY BEING IN A GOD DAMN RELATIONSHIP 😭 they deserve to be in a relationship with each other especially after all they been through. 🥺❤️ imagine all the extra wholesome content we could of gotten because nobody can make Dutch happy like Hosea can. 🥺
