rdr2 arthur morgan's journal is my favourite storytelling device ever, video game or otherwise. he's a boulder of a man: broad shouldered and scowl faced most of the time. he reserves something of himself because he leads a life that needs a bit of reserve—arthur raids houses, and collects debts, and robs at gun point. he lets his physicality do the talking.
the only place arthur freely expresses himself is his journal, which you have access to, and as his story unfolds, he adds more and more to it. he draws beautiful illustrations of last night's campfire, with impressions of his friends. he sketches rabbits you saw in passing. he adds small symbols and reminders for himself. he writes, wondering how he can live with himself, wondering if tomorrow he'll be dead, and just grieving, grieving, grieving.
arthur morgan's journal is an object of function and beauty: functional because it's a player action log and beautiful because it expresses arthur's rich interior life.

WAIT A SEC. I want to cut some credit to player drunkenness in rdr2 and how it works as a vehicle to reveal something about the main character of this story.
Usually drunkenness in games is played off for cheap laughs, and there are plenty of slapsticky drunken antics in rdr2 (LENNAY). But happy-drunk Arthur gives SO MUCH INSIGHT into his real personality, too -- even when he's being a giggling, property-damaging, cancan-dancing terror. When he's drunk, he forgets a little of his mean bastard enforcer mask, the primary role he must play in the gang, and his loving nature becomes laughably obvious.

From his sudden determination to teach Jack mathematics to his declared affection for Hosea; from his worrying about Susan getting a break to his insistence that newer gang members are "one of us now"; from his innocuous little compliments tossed around thoughtlessly ("Mary-Beth! Sweetest outlaw in the West! Javier! Best-dressed outlaw in the West!") to his more genuine praise for Abigail's inherent goodness, drunk Arthur is a fuzzy but honest look at a truer Arthur, one who is not thinking about the part he must play in a criminal outfit. Strip that awareness of his station away, even if just for a while, and we wind up with an Arthur who is surprisingly fun-loving, sometimes downright silly, and who lives to fuss over and dote on the people around him.
My favorite moment, perhaps, is a tipsy interaction with Sadie in Horseshoe Overlook during Sean's welcome home party. Arthur meanders over to her, this woman who is not a gang member or a close friend at the time, but simply a grieving widow he doesn't know very well. And he and asks, loudly: "MISSUS ADLER. DO YOU NEED ANYTHING MISSUS ADLER. DO YOU WANNA DANCE WITH ME MISSUS ADLER."
And she just sounds so tickled when she says no thanks to this goofy-drunk gunslinger. And I think maybe, just maybe, watching big bad gang lieutenant Arthur slamming a couple bottles of whiskey and so transparently doting on everyone gave her some of the first laughter at the world she had in what must feel like a very long time.
In Chapter 6, Arthur can again approach Sadie while drunk, and he encourage her to smile. Sadie hisses you're drunk; no woman likes being told this, and on the surface, this seems like a proper Antagonize line. But then Arthur -- who knows he is dying -- says, blearily, to this friend he met at her lowest point of grief and who seems to be in danger of plunging even lower in rage, "I just want you to be happy."
Drunkenness is not a liquid clarifier. Often times, alcohol garbles and distorts a person's personality. But with a character like Arthur, whose heart is so poorly matched with his 20-year lot in life, drunk-writing becomes a powerful tool. It's a quick, non-transformative way to believably peel off the snarl he wears around for a while (without him knowing it), letting players access an easy, silly, soft interior that sober Arthur is much more guarded about showing the gang.

In the cool shadow of the cabin, thrown long by the late morning sun, you sit with your little son, watching him play in the sandbox. The mourning dove’s rounded, plaintive hoots are parried by the sharp, tinkling warbles of goldfinches in the nearby pine branches, and the fragrances of crisp mist and thick sod linger in the mountain air.
You watch the faint glimmer of day paint the crests of Gabriel’s cupid’s bow with light, his plump lips resting between his two rotund cheeks as he concentrates on the toys before him. The wispy feathers of his splayed lashes bow and rise with each blink. His beautiful, shimmering eyes inspect each toy, each color, each shape. Out of all the blocks, large puzzle pieces, rings, balls, and animal toys half-buried in the sand, he has landed on one. You watch the bulbous pads and segments of each tiny, clumsy finger curl to a strong, stable grasp around the edge of the object of his aim—a large block with an Appaloosa sketched and painted lovingly on the side.
“Just like your daddy,” you whisper to yourself.
Dipping your fingers into the sand and feeling its chill envelop your skin, you look up with a smile to gaze in the direction of the stables. In the distance, you catch sight of Arthur hauling a huge saddle and its accompanying tack, a moment before he disappears through the door and into the shaded interior.
You recall the quiet rustling of his rising this morning when he’d been up before the sun, as he often is. And the way he’d kept from waking the baby in his room, intentionally leaving you to reap the reward of your son’s customary gleeful smile, his bounce in his crib, and his lifting of his arms for you.
You turn back to your eleven-month-old with a burgeoning smirk. “Wanna come help Mama make some sourdough?”
“Yeah,” he immediately chirps, recognizing nothing but the lilt of a question in your voice. But he doesn’t look up at you, still captured by the blocks and puzzle pieces.
You stand and take a few steps away to prompt him. “Well let’s go!” you call.
He braces himself on the sand with his palms, a moment later lifting his tush into the air. When he straightens, his brows knot, and his lips dangle from between his cheeks as he gazes down confoundedly at the discomfort of sand stuck to his flesh.
You snort a laugh as you cover the sandbox behind him. “Just go like this, Gabe Baby.”
You show him your flattened hands and slowly brush them together.
His brows don’t budge as he looks back and forth from your hands to his own, unable to fully brush them.
“Like this,” you whisper, gently taking his wrists and swiftly brushing his palms back and forth over each other.
When the sand is removed, he toddles to follow you up towards the cabin, and you carry him when you reach the oak staircase to the back door.
As you turn onto the wraparound porch, you notice Arthur now hefting a huge bale of hay by its cords into the stable, his black leather hat shading most of his face in the distance. But you like to imagine he wears a subconscious smile, now enjoying a life of simplicity, filled with nature and horses and art and family and love, tucked away from the gnarled heartache that gang life had left in its wake.
“Sandy baby,” you mumble when you arrive inside and close the back door behind you.
You promptly remove both your shoes and strip Gabriel to his diaper, tossing his sandy clothes into the hamper.
“Are you dry?” you ask vainly as he starts to toddle away. “Wait, are you dry?” You deftly hook a finger down his back and into his diaper before he can fully get away.
Peering into his diaper, you find no present. You carefully squeeze his bottom to discover no liquid deposit.
When you release him, he immediately darts down the hall. You follow and walk into the kitchen, beckoning him to join you. When he does and you bend to pick him up, he whines to be allowed to remain standing on his own.
“Well how’re you gonna see from down there?” you lightly ask.
When he shakes his head, you half-frown. It was just a couple weeks ago that eleven-month-old Gabriel began walking. Since then, he’s always wriggling out of your arms and dashing across rooms, seemingly already excited to be as independent as he can be.
At first, it stung. With the love and special intimacy of mother and son—and with even the chemistry and well-being of your bodies both dependent on the other—the two of you had been closer than peas in a pod, glued at the hip for so long. It’s always been and still is a precious bond to you, though its daily aspects continue to gradually change. And it was hard to so suddenly feel a little unneeded. But Arthur has helped you find a comfort in the balance of realizing that your feelings are only natural, and that you’ve been raising a wonderful and healthy little boy, with this change as just another bit of proof.
As well as the fact that Gabriel still likes to cherry-pick when he’s carried and when he walks on his own. You suspect that like any human, his adamant desire for independence doesn’t do one thing to hinder his deep enjoyment and fierce need of being held.
So you turn and begin pulling ingredients and dishes from the cupboard, at last going to the fridge to retrieve your sourdough starter. You begin mixing ingredients in your big bowl atop the counter, when you hear a whimper and feel a few hard tugs at your palazzos. And you smirk.
You glance down to find him with arms outstretched and upheld for you, bouncing on his tiptoes with longing. You stoop and lift him to you, hugging him to your hip and pressing a few kisses soundly to his smooth cheek.
Describing each action aloud to him, you finish mixing, dust the countertop with copious amounts of flour, and turn the bowl with your free hand to dump the dough.
“Now we knead,” you almost sing, in hushed tones.
Perched on your hip, his plump little arm drapes with familiarity and utmost contentedness over the back of your shoulder. He watches your every gesture with a mixture of restful curiosity and heightened interest.
You push the dough away and pull it towards you again and again, tucking the edges underneath as you do, to form a smooth, rounded surface on top.
“You wanna feel it? You wanna knead?” you ask.
Leaning forward, you let him reach and press his tiny hand into the supple surface of the cool dough.
“Gentle,” you say, showing him the way you keep your fingers outstretched and softly brush and pat the surface of the dough with the pads of your fingertips. “No squeezing.”
The two of you watch his little fingers delve into the pliant mass of dough, leaving a mark of small craters. When they begin to slowly bounce back, you watch his face instead of the dough.
He releases a single cooed sigh of delight as he looks at you with a bright smile, which you heartily return.
How you love, you love, you love him.
You sprinkle the dough with flour and rest it in a basket for its turn to prove. After fetching a dough you’d left proving hours before, you carefully score it with one long slice for expansion, and several small strokes for a quaint wheat kernel design on the other side.
“Mama.” Gabriel pats your sternum and rests a couple fingers past his lips.
“You hungry?” you ask.
When he nods, you brush a hand down the slope of the back of his head and kiss his temple. You add as you set him to his feet, “Let me get this in the oven, then I’ll feed you.”
After setting the parchment-papered sourdough in its cast iron dutch oven and pouring a bain marie past the paper, you place the whole thing in the oven and set a timer. You glance at the oven window with a small smile, eager to see the crispy crust on your extra-sour boule. Since you first noticed its resemblance to Gabriel’s tummy, you’ve made a tradition of kissing the top of the boule, then indelicately turning Gabriel sideways in your arms and blowing a raspberry on his bare belly, making him cackle hysterically. These days, he’s even begun giggling when you turn him in your arms and before you ever kiss his belly, already tickled by the anticipation alone.
With Gabriel in tow, you walk to the couch in the living room. Gabriel rests both arms over the seat cushion and tries to lift one leg up over the edge, but you reach your hands under his arms and pull him into your lap.
Just before you unhook your bra from its strap to nurse, the two of you hear the back door open.
Gabriel’s eyes widen, and a grin begins to pull on the corners of his mouth. “Da,” he says.
He wiggles down off the couch, and as he toddles down the hall, you listen to his bare little feet patting quietly along the hardwood floor. You smile to yourself at the precious sound, so deeply dear to you.
As you hear Arthur’s rustling, jingling presence in the doorway and the naturally firm, heavy footfalls of his work boots, you imagine him resting his black hat on the wall as his small son comes around the corner in only his diaper, bared rounded belly and all.
When you hear the playful growl and the resultant squeal and cackle, your grin splits wider.
“You’re in your nethers, baby boah!”
You can detect the pinch of a smile in Arthur’s voice and the breath of laughter with the last couple words.
More little pads of bare feet as Gabriel comes running back around the corner and down the hall. He hesitates as he toddles, turning back to ensure Arthur’s tailing, eager to play this game with his father.
Still, when Arthur leans around the corner and pulls an exaggeratedly silly face with an outright grunt, Gabriel’s little body gives a tiny jump. His squeal and adorable laughter ring out into the air. He clumsily darts into the kitchen.
When his father follows with a few long strides and the sturdy clops of his boots, he brings with him the musty scents of alfalfa hay and tanned rawhide, of trail dust and undiluted sunshine. And the two subsequently begin an elaborate game of peek-a-boo, back and forth around the island. You can’t help but laugh along at the purest sound of undiluted joy—the beauty and innocence of your own child so easily tickled and contented by life and love—as you turn on the couch and watch the pair. No matter how many times Arthur jumps out to stop him with a silly face and a low hoot or growl, Gabriel instantly screams and squeals, his body utterly racked with tightly coiled cackles.
Arthur wheezes and snickers every time.
“Oh my God, listen to him!” you laugh.
It’s always another several seconds before Gabriel totally recovers and manages to catch his breath, his laughter smoothing with each heave of air.
With the next turn of their game, Arthur lingers behind the island when Gabriel rounds it, not jumping out even when his son takes reticent steps forward, looking for him. Arthur continues to linger, even quietly backing up to hide himself, watching his son for the right moment to strike.
Finally Arthur leaps out, and Gabriel jumps with the highest squeal and loudest cackles you’ve heard yet.
You and Arthur both burst with your own laughter at his reaction.
When your son’s breathing finally evens, you call, “Gabriel, I thought you were hungry?”
“Oh, were you about to eat, son?” Arthur asks in his deep timbre. “You hungry?”
Gabriel nods and pats a hand to his belly above the rim of his diaper.
“Well, better go see Mama,” Arthur quietly grunts as he picks his son up by the underarms and sets him on his hip out of habit. Arthur lifts him over the couch back and sets him down into your lap, then remains behind the couch himself, watching over your shoulder.
After cushioning your back and adjusting him in your arms, you reach beneath your tee, unhook the front of your bra, and gently bring Gabriel to your breast to nurse. He latches on immediately, very well accustomed to your routine. A certain profound peace washes over you as you watch him. His lips flange around you as he suckles; his quiet breaths through his nose briefly pause each time he swallows; and his plump little arm rests wistfully over your chest.
Many people may look away, abashed and discomfited, unable to fit something at once both so innocent and intimate into their world. But it’s always made perfect sense to you. And maybe motherhood was a dream too quaint, one not rebellious or modern enough, seemingly not daring or adventurous enough. But it was your dream.
When Gabriel spots Arthur’s face over your shoulder, he pulls away from your breast with a growingly wry grin, clearly expecting to continue the game from moments ago. Droplets of your milk spill between you and his mouth as he voices a syllable and lifts his arm, attempting to goad Arthur into another silly face.
Arthur silently complies with cross-eyes and a sideways tongue.
Gabriel promptly giggles, and the two of you smile and chuckle at the sound.
“Don’t while he’s nursing, he’ll choke,” you lightly say.
After softly cooing and corralling Gabriel back to his feeding, you continue watching him with a contented smile. You brush your hand down over the back of his head, into the growing downy hair that curls funnily at the base of his neck. As he closes his eyes, you brush the backs of your curled fingers down over his temple, and gently trail your fingertips across the velvet flower-petal skin of his plump baby cheek.
You hear the long, relaxed sound of Arthur’s husky breath over your shoulder, a sound you know very well, especially these days.
“What a life, huh?” he quietly says.
He means to facetiously point out Gabriel’s current lot—nursing at his mother’s breast with his father at the ready to make him smile and laugh. That is, a life full of love and joy, well taken care of, and absent of a care in the world. Just as he should be for now.
It doesn’t take you a few moments, and you’re turning to look into Arthur’s cerulean-sage eyes. A knowingness resides in your gaze. Because you yourself, as well as your husband, have been given all you’d so deeply and totally longed for—and longed, a word too weak—more than you could’ve ever imagined you’d actually live to get.
“Yeah,” you quietly, pensively respond. “What a life.”
The love of your life holds your gaze, and understands.
Your love and gratefulness are immeasurable and uncontainable, filling you and stretching past the bounds of your body and being, like fragmented granules of glittering dust floating from a burst star.
Strangely enough, even with all the joy and contentment and peace, the words and the shared gaze are not without a mingling of loss and ache.
They are not gone entirely. But you both have someone now, to join you in weathering them.
You are not alone.
Arthur leans to you, and you share a few kisses, soft as breath. You turn and close your eyes a moment as he rests his forehead to your temple. And you both gaze down at your son with contented smiles.

Gaming With Sevika
Note : Apologies in advance with the quality, I'm fairly new to this.
-To anybody that thinks she would be a boomer with technology, you are highly mistaken, she would have so much fun with it. (aside from maybe typing with one finger on her phone, you'd constantly mock her about it but in reality it’s just because her hands are so damn big) Probably knows how to set up a pc and would definitely buy one for you so you can play more games together. (Thinking about having individual setups in the same room that are astoundingly different makes me smile) If you have toys or figures on your desk she’d say they’re stupid to your face but end up fiddling with them when she thinks you aren’t around.
-She’d love any game involving violence or shooting things, if it isn’t supposed to be cathartic why is it so fun? I have a feeling she’d love RDR2 (totally not biased or anything cause I never stop playing it-) She’d enjoy online even more though because I have no doubt she’d be a god at pvp. You were cuddled up in her lap one day watching her mow down players with minimal effort and since then you never go on without dragging her along with you. She’d definitely cuss out characters she hates in story mode, messing up missions just so she can relish in the feeling of offing them for a minute or so. Sevika would name her horse something horrendous like “DumFuc” or “AsWipe” only to treat it like a goddamn saint, tending to it better than her actual character. (This could be said for all in game pets, there’s so many dogs in story mode and she’d pet every single one of them)
-Playing anything online with her automatically makes your experience 100x better, she has a way of dealing with people that you could never top and it’s both rewarding and endearing to watch her deplete men’s egos into the negatives. (Also, the stern tone of voice used when she's genuinely pissed off sets something off between your legs-) She helps you feel confident enough to leave your mic on and she loves hearing your reactions to things that excite you or make you squeal. She doesn't want anyone to deter her from listening to them. (As someone who is constantly muted I long for the day when I can say one word without getting bombarded by stupid)
-She’ll call you a multitude of insults when you slip up or mess around in game too much, you take it as permission to be even more of a dumbass so you can keep getting reactions out of her. The moment anyone else has something to say about your antics though? She’ll kill them on sight regardless of if they’re on the same side or not. She’ll shower you with praise throughout the rest of the time you spend playing, acting like you defeated the ender dragon for her if you bring her a dead shrub or a chicken on a lead.
-On that note, Sevika and Minecraft? Astounding. If you’re more of a builder then she’ll be working her ass off in the caves as you scream about roof alignment and how the path to the house is wonky. (The cave noises scare the shit out of me but nothing gets me more worked up then when I keep fucking up the building layout) She’ll bring you over three stacks of iron like it was nothing and then immediately make fun of your interior design. She knows that she wouldn’t be able to make anything more than a cube house so she actually finds your creativity impressive but she’s gonna give you shit anyway.
“Sev, I’ve changed the carpet like fifteen times now. If you don’t give me a direct answer on how to make the bedroom more appropriate to your refined taste I’m going to throw Glamrock Freddy at you again.” There’s a beat of silence on her end and then she asks for all you have in your inventory, making you step aside as she puts together a pattern so ugly you thought she installed some sort of wacky mod without your knowledge. You can hear the smirk in her voice as she finishes it off, stepping back to analyze it with you.
“How about that? Who knew gravel made such a good centerpiece.” She’s fucking with you, no one in their right mind would leave raised carpet as an intentional detail, not to mention the use of random blocks. “If you hadn’t made me a full set of diamond armor three minutes ago I’d set it on fire.” You roll your eyes as she starts up the dramatics, reorganizing your inventory as she whines about how you don't appreciate her genius or how she's been slaving away in the mines for you. Despite your implied hatred, the monstrosity of a decoration stays put for quite a while.

Wolfwood heaves the door shut behind them as the two of them take shelter in an abandoned house. Thankfully, it's shuttered—windows and doorways boarded up to protect the interior from the elements. The owners don't seem to have come back; it seems that the home has spent at least a decade untouched.
They're on their way to December, where Mona insists she has a very important meeting. Wolfwood is certain they're being tailed by something. He swears he can see them out of the corners of his eyes—constantly in his peripheral—surely members of the Eye. Letters, documents, lab reports—everything points to their involvement in... something. Is he imagining it?
For a moment, all he can do is meet Mona's gaze silently. They have about two days of a typhoon to sit through and then one day of travel before they board a steamer. He's still not sure all of this is worth it.
"Nobody's following us—ugh—we don't know that. Whatever, we're stuck in this house for a couple days," he pushes his fringe back in frustration, trying to simmer down. His nerves are still firing, brain is still alert, mind is still telling him something is wrong.
Breathe.
The undertaker sets his Punisher down with a thud, then dusts off a couch cushion before taking a seat. He sighs, long and deep, and spreads his legs far apart—his head bumps against the wall as he leans back in the seat.
"At least we can get cozy. I need to get my mind off of—need to stop thinking someone's watching us. No one's following us, you're right. You're right."

Analyzation of the Interior of a 2018 Toyota Highlander
Now, today we will be talking about the Interior 2018 Toyota Highlander. Let's begin.
Now first I want to take a look at the splendid window covers. These sun-blocking nets are built with the car. results may vary considering which type you have. however, they can be used as privacy protections, or just simply blocking the sun from your eyes. you simply pull up the little notch at the bottom of your window and hook it onto the top. the window shades are very hard to see through guaranteeing privacy for the user.
second, I would like to take a look at the AC system. This AC setting is life-changing. from seat warmers to cold air. there is a seat-warming option, but sadly only in the front but we will explain why it's like that later. The seat warmers heat up fast and get very comfy on a cold day. not to mention the AC unit. The AC is available and adjustable in the 2nd and 1st rows. you can also change how fast the air blows, and you can even change which direction it goes. this is very useful for cold or hot days.
Now like I said, here is why there aren't seat warmers on the second row. the seats can move around, so if you want to lie down just pull the lever next to the seat and you can fall asleep. there is also a THIRD row, you can have the third-row seats folded down if you want more trunk space, or you can have them up. this car can hold a maximum of 8 people if you're taking a long trip with your friends.
Now let's talk more about the design. which is one of the best parts of the car. The seats are made of fine long-lasting leather that is in a beige color. the doors are black leather with a wood design for the handles. the wood design is very smooth and definitely very well made. most highlanders contain a bar at the roof where you can strap in your bike if your thinking about having an adventure.
This car is a personal favorite starting at around $50,000 and it is worth the price, I hope you enjoyed another one of my summaries that I make when I get bored, and thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this nonsense.

My Opinion Regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 [SPOILER]
Today, I will be summarizing the well-known game "RDR2" Also known as "Red Dead Redemption" including its features and so on. now I must say that I am very fond of the graphics in this game, far better than most Rockstar games which already gives it a bonus. Plus, the nature is very catching and realistic as it has caves, mountains, rivers, canyons, deserts, Etc. There is so much more to explore and that is why I love it most. The plot of the whole story mode is complex, but as you progress, it gets more understandable, especially during the middle stages. Near the end of the game, you start to figure out more secrets behind the characters, which finishes most of the plot however, you will start to notice the downfall of the characters and how they worsen over time. once the game is completed, you can find their graves hidden throughout the map which gives a nostalgia effect as well, you can also even find some of the characters who had managed to survive through the story, as well as side characters. The NPCs are very interactive, and you can even talk to them, antagonize them, or rob them. and also throughout the game, you can treat the NPCs nicely and it will give you good effects in the later stages of the story. It shows a nice feeling of vengeance, for example: when you help the native Americans with rivalries and whatnot. you are in big battles defending them which gives off a sense of retaliation. this motivates the user to fight harder in the missions because most likely the user knows about the fact that the US beats the natives during colonization. so the user wants to kill as much of the enemy as they can, wishing the natives had won. this can hype up the user and motivate them. the game introduces you to different side characters, such as the "Neanderthal" "Feral Human" and many others. this game also has an eerie side. as it introduces the "Strange Man" who is known for his black top hat and mystical ways, and I am only getting started. there is the Aberdeen Pig Farm where you are introduced to a very overweight man and his sister. you will walk into their house and be offered food. once you accept the food you will then be told about how it used to be a pig farm and how their parents died and shortly after you will then be poisoned and greeted in the middle of nowhere, and all of your stuff is stolen. you can come back to the house later and get it back. there will also be strange dead bodies throughout the map including serial killers. the game can get very gruesome as proven. You can find clues about the serial killers and eventually find out where they're hiding out. once you walk in, very terrible things will appear and he will try to make you a victim, however, luckily enough you can escape and you can then report him to the "law" and get money for it. plus, there are other bounty missions you can do for a good price such as a man who claims to be a healer and actually gives out poison, or a psychotic woman who lures men in and kills them. and there are even different gangs throughout the game, like the "Moonshiners" or the "Skinner Brothers" and even the "Night folk" Something I am also very happy about is the hunting. there is a bunch of different animals you can encounter and hunt. there are also Legendary Animals that can be found around the map, you can hunt them and sell them, or make clothes out of them. One thing I don't really like about the game is the stupidity of the NPCs like when they can fight you all they want and not get in trouble. but if you punch once, the law will arrest you. I hope that my summary was a pleasure to read (if anyone actually reads these which I'm pretty sure they don't) And if you stuck around and read my true speech of boredom then thank you.

How To Effectivley Defend Your Home Against An Opposition.
Today, we will be learning how to effectivley defend against home invasion. All you need, is a 12 gauge shotgun, an M84 Flashbang Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ suace, and a 20,000 kilogram block of solid uranium 235. We first must create a diversion that will distract the assailant such that you have an opening for tactical withdrawl. it is for this reason that we have Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ suace. using your buff, well toned arm. lob the BBQ suace out your window at exactly 100 MPS and at an angle directly parallel to the outside ground. This gives you exactly 1.11 seconds to escape the vicinity before the BBQ suace lands on the ground, and explodes into a highly-lethal fireball, as all nearby objects are incinerated by a common household condiment burning at 6,000 degrees Celcius. A single tear escapes your eye as you realize you will probolably never taste the sweet nectar of Sweet Baby Ray's ever again. not after the Sigma variant cuased the downfall of the BBQ supply chain. a great regime whose unwavering glory surpassed that of the Roman Empire at its peak. but right now more important matter are at hand. you will never forget the sacrifce the sweet baby rays made to save your own life and entrust in your hands the future of human civilization. there is no turning back now. you must now take action and seek immediate vengeance. Carefully breach your bedroom door with a 12 guage shotgun. and clear the outside area with an M84 flashback. then, quickly advance towards the nearest exit making turns to confuse the enemy, for if you dont know your next move, neither do they finally, once you are outside, it is time to unleash the fury of a 20,000 kilogram solid block of subcritical Uranium 235 with your house surrounded it only makes sense to make one last stand for the survival of human civilization. this is what you have been preparing for assuming that you have not been lacking, you should easily be able to replicate the compression affects of chemically feuled implosion assembly nuclear weapon explosive lens, with your bare hands to force the fissel uranium into supercriticality, cuasing an expotential growth of nuclear chain reactions that realeases 226 billion joules of energy into the surrounding enviroment. but this is not a tragic case of self sacrifice, because you took a swig of sweet baby rays before running out of the house. you will not go gentle into this goodnight, for souped up on the sweet nectar of God. You are now essentially a highly lethal superhuman nuclear recoil gun. no mortal shall oppose you now. for you have ascended to a plane of existence touched by no other living man. your opponents will not even realize what is happening, before a beam of thistle material transfers 500 Kilotons worth of TNT through their chest, killing them instantly.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Review
I finished RDR2 a few weeks back now, so the review is long overdue. Buckle up.

Unlike most games I review, I knew exactly what I was getting into when I booted up RDR2. I knew a fair amount of the story prior to playing; being one of the biggest games out there, I knew the fate of Arthur Morgan. Spoilers were inevitable. However, I did not know about his journey to that point, so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered its narrative. I tried to start this game back in July 2021, but I stopped before the first chapter ended as I didn't feel compelled by the story. With this in mind, I decided to give it another shot. If it turned out I still didn't like it, then no biggie. It's just not for me.
Story
RDR2 is a tragic story. A tale of a man who is self-loathing and morally ambiguous (depending on how you play him) who inevitably wants what's best for everyone. He is someone who cares a whole lot, and none of it is reserved for himself. His guilt for his unlawfulness rears its ugly head when he becomes ill. Making amends isn't so easy, especially when he is who he is. Not only does he have TB, but the gang is falling apart. I loved the togetherness the gang provided, especially socialising at camp. Engaging with members made the story more immersive.
Regarding the ending. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry. There's something bittersweet about his death. He knew it was coming and he never once looked behind him. He wanted desperately to see the good in Dutch, the man who raised him since he was a boy. However, Micah was a parasite that latched onto the gang, polluting Dutch. Once a man who had some form of morality to his killings was now running wild. The true TRUE ending, however, was lovely. I'm happy John managed to make it out, even if we know he doesn't stick around for much longer with the events of rdr1.
Combat
Combat was okay. I think something is satisfying about pulling the bolt and getting a clean headshot. Meanwhile, it was unforgiving in places. The trigger between interaction and open fire was a thin line. I shot people many, many times when I intended to speak with them. The gunplay is great. I love the customisation it allows you to really make the gun your own. Melee combat was something I rarely used outside of missions. Usually, it was the result of running into someone, or a bar fight that started randomly. RDR2's combat isn't the shining beacon of the game and I think it acknowledges that.
The World
This is where the bells and whistles are at. As some of you may know, I am a big fan of huge open word games. I love immersive RPGs that let you take this world and make it your own. Even if you aren't someone influential, like Jin Sakai in GOT, your actions still have an impact. And even when they do, the world still moves on without the player present. You are not the sole progressor of the world. Continuity was well established, with rewards for helping people on the road. The random encounters in this game were super fun. I also loved the amount of detail that was put into the world. The interior of the shops in particular really stood out to me. Actually picking stuff off the shelves? Unheard of. Not for Rockstar, though. Not only is the world immersive, it's also stunning. From the swamps of Saint Denis to the snow-capped peaks, it truly is breathtaking. You can tell that a lot of care was put into the creation of this map.
Final Thoughts
I love this game. Truly. It's now near the top of my list. It's an experience that I enjoyed thoroughly, and will likely return to in the distant future. There's no surprise as to why RDR2 is considered one of Rockstar's greatest accomplishments. Maybe one day GTA6 will top this masterpiece.

Maps
Researching maps now. There have been so many different maps in games but for the purposes of these themes im going to be focusing on paper based maps. The maps that i made a list of that i have encountered are rdr 1 and 2s treasure maps as well as rdr2s other maps, dishonoureds area maps, skyrims physical map, sniper elites map and the sea of thieves map. For this i am going to look specifically at dishonoured, rdr1 and the sea of thieves maps

The maps shown in dishonoured 2 are all pre made area maps designed for navigation of the level while being themed around residents needing navigation around the area. the images used here are images of the map themselves and then the legend would be another asset. The two maps shown here are those of the docks in Karnaca and the interior of the Addermire institute. As part of the game play, the docks map has buildings that can be entered in dark blue, and those that cant in a lighter blue, and accessible paths are in yellow. In order for the map appear to fit with the setting more additional buildings that would not be seen by the player have been added as well as contour lines that the player would not need. It also has a seal of authenticity and the logo of the people who made the map in the world.
the addermire institute map differs in tat it is an interior map owned by a private company intended to assist with construction, as indicated by the contract drawing and a large amount of extra lines. this is much simpler than the exterior map, likely due to the fact that it was not intended for public viewing. as it is a floor plan it is also in the same orientation for each floor with the same scale.

sea of thieves has two main types of maps, the world map and treasure maps. Both maps have tearing on the edges to indicate age and are yellow due to likely being made out of parchment and not paper. Both maps contain grid co-ordinates due to being large scale navigational maps However the world map is the only one that has names to indicate the island. The use of the treasure maps relies on using the shape of the island on the small map and then finding the same shape on the larger map, after this has been done and the destination reached the cross then must be reached. I shall note that this is one way of hiding locations from those you do not wish to find them, use other identifiable parts of a map to find the location.

The third type of map for this particular post is the maps in red dead redemption for the treasure hunter challenges. These maps appear to be hand drawings of locations in the area and also have noticeable damage due to age, with water marks and fold lines where it has been opened often and in harsh conditions and occasionally where some one has placed their drink, as seen in the top two maps. The key difference between this map and the sea of thieves map is that instead of it being based off of map shape, it is based off identifiable locations in the landscape, and is easiest to find after having already seen that location. I shall again note that it is another way of creating a map that can only be used by those you want by having small, typically insignificant marks be apart of the map, like a particular marking on a tomb or a set of trees in a certain arrangement by a river.
