11/9まで読書週間だそうです。秋の夜長は、やっぱり読書📖が良いです。

おばあちゃんと小さな女の子がお花摘みしてて微笑ましかったのでパチリ。

Reading week until November 9th. During the long autumn nights, reading 📖 is lovely way.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!

Reasons why you should read it

The writing is gorgeous

The characters are so amazing and lovable

It has SHEET MUSIC in the book which is absolutely gorgeous (if you can read sheet music it's so wonderful to stop at the sheet music and play through)

Mysterious love interest

Trans characters! (One of them doesn't show up till book two though)

Strong family themes. And intriguing family bonds

Princess who is plus sized and an inventor (love her)

DRAGONS

Emersive formatting (switching from normal format (in first person) to a script format while not from first person. It also has letters, tellograms, wanted posters, etc. Scattered through the pages.

Author (Heidi Heilig) went to school for musical theater writing. And it shows! In the best possible way

The magic with the spirit fantouches in so gorgeous.

All the books are consistently good! I haven't read book 3 yet (can't wait) but book 2 did not disappoint. I imagine the 3rd one is just as good.

Synopsis:

So people like us, we have to help each other…because there are so few of us” The first set of interconnected short stories I’ve read by Ishiguro and once again I felt the familiar warm and cozy feeling I experienced in Remains of the Day. Each story is centered around music (how it brings people together, how it reveals bittersweet truths and splits them a part, an how it’s the one thing that cushions reality’s sting where dreams most likely are tased aside for the mundane. Out of the short stories, I’d say “Nocturne” was my favorite. Steve and Lindy’s budding friendship and escapade through the hotel was both funny and eye opening in what musicians are expected to do in order to succeed. All the short stories possess smart humor that’s similar to P.G. What are your bookish plans for the weekend? 📚🍂 . Oh, we are so glad the weekend is here! A few days ago we were on our way to the airport when a truck crashed into us, and now sister & I are stuck wearing neck braces. 🥹 At first it was only me because I did not had the chance to brace myself for the impact (Isabel did), but a day later sister started to feel the strain and our doctor has also made her wear one. We are quite the pair right now. 😂👌 . But thankfully we are alright & we should be off the braces in a few weeks. And now we are just taking it as a sign to just stay home reading & taking bookish photos. 📚😪 And we shall treat ourselves to new books!
