Study-Blr Quarantine Challenge

Week 2 - Monday : Take a picture of your desk/study space

March 30, 2020 - My study space on a low energy day

Shout-out to Tumblr for sending my first version of this into the void. 😒

In any case… some days you feel like walking to your favorite study spot and working for a few hours underneath a tree. You feel like eating 3 healthy-ish meals and spending some time with your family and your hobbies …

…and other days you just manage to drag yourself out of bed an hour before the sun sets to grab icecream for dinner before settling in to write sloppy notes from your teacher’s lecture that you put on 2x speed because you can’t focus otherwise. Some days you finish one section of notes and HW questions and your brain won’t do anything else.

That’s ok. Both days are ok. We should all try to keep this in mind…

✨2020 Quarantine Challenge✨

⛅ - Week 2, Monday (3.30.2020)

🎧 - Cha Ching by Imagine Dragons

📸 - Take a picture of your desk/study space

It doesn’t fit the aesthetic but it’s mine all the same ❤

I chose to work at the kitchen table today and I’ve been sitting here for quite a long time. I’ve been focusing more but my family has also been around, making it really hard to be productive. I feel like I’ve been working all day and have gotten nothing done! I’ll have to keep experimenting, especially since online classes have officially begun. This is gonna be an interesting time.

And since I missed yesterday’s question:

❓ - What are you doing to relax?

I don’t have specific activities that I do in order to relax. I usually just step away from what I’m working on and go do whatever feels nice in the moment. Sometimes that’s watching something on YouTube or Netflix, other times it’s chilling out with music and chatting with friends over the Internet. It really just depends. That said, if someone is looking for show recommendations, I highly recommend Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a good laugh and The Man in the High Castle if you’re looking for dramatic and intense shows.

I hope today has been kind to you c:

March 28, 2020 - The view from my favorite study spot, featuring me not actually studying.

Study-Blr Quarantine Challenge

Week 1 - Day 6 : Where in your house is your favorite spot to study?

So, I really can’t study inside my house, I mean, sometimes I can but I never get much done. I guess I would say inside my favorite spot is the kitchen table, even with all the intteruptions from family I enjoy the space and I have easy access to the tea cupboard.

But my all-time favorite spot (currently) is under this gigantic tree about a 15 min walk from my house. I’m lucky enough to live surrounded by nature and I’m reminded of that constantly during this period of social distancing.

In any case there’s something so peaceful about being in the woods, especially in the early spring. I love hearing all the birds chirping and the world slowly waking up after the winter months.

Also, there’s no service so I can’t play video games, browse the internet and just generally do everything I can to not work.

;)

64/100 days of productivity

Made some bread, integrated and cried. I’m not having the best time, I’m finding it really hard to adjust to a new routine completely at home. It’s getting better and I’m kind of getting the hang of it and actually being productive homework-wise but it takes so much effort. Stay safe and do your homework on time 🐢🍞

COLLEGE UPDATE #2:

Winter Quarter 2020 equaled ten weeks of a second chance. I feel like students on academic probation rarely speak out about their experiences. Difficult - the best word to describe telling your parents you’re receiving almost straight A’s when in reality you only have one A+ secured, but you know it’s the best you can do! I fought hard this quarter although another part of me knows I can fight even harder and even smarter! The photo above is just before I went into a major energy crash. RIP the me that had to push through finals, but that apple cider I got from the local farmer’s market was absolutely refreshing! COVID-19 is forcing us to have Spring Quarter online which scares me A LOT, but I have a week to clear my mind and space. My workload for next quarter is tear-worthy, but I feel like I got this!

3-16-20 Quarantine Day 2

Today I planned out how the rest of my quarancation is going to work. My teachers seem to be dropping instruction for the time being but that doesn’t stop the encroaching AP exam dates. Above is my tentative plan for this week. It is a mix of review book chapters, online class instruction, and finishing some of the homework I was supposed to have done over the weekend but neglected the moment I was informed school was canceled for a month. Scholarship applications and other college inquiries are yet to be added.

3-15-20: Day 1 of the Corona Virus Vacation. My school is closed for a month so to keep morale up I’m going to make a productivity post everyday until school reopens. Despite it being a Sunday, I finished my AP Bio article on epistasis and delivered my old AP review books to my neighbor so she can still ace her AP exams in these trying times. My sister is arriving home from college today so I’m going to help her unpack as well.

So today I failed my first exam/test in university and it was a hard.. experience? Idk it was an integral calculus test (or calculus 2 as we call it here) and I’m really scared that I’m gonna fail the whole class, my next test is this Friday and while I’m sure I know the material I’m also quite insecure now because I also felt pretty confident and I failed. I’m very unmotivated and I don’t even feel like studying for my next test. I don’t know how everything is gonna turn out but I hope everything turns out alright in the end?

Tuesday March 10, 2020

Well, I screwed up. I’m currently skipping a class in order to work on a paper for another class, and I won’t even be able to get it done on time. By the time I have to leave for my class this afternoon I hope to be done at least 2/3s of this paper, including the proper referencing. When I get home from work tonight I’ll work on it some more, then hopefully again tomorrow morning so that I can hand it in at office hours. At least my hyacinth is looking nice!

Day 6/100 days of productivity

Let me tell you, I am not feeling motivated at ALL. I also don’t have a ton of work at the moment, which makes it even harder to motivate myself. What do you guys do for motivation?

Day 5/100 days of productivity

Today was the perfect day for a bike ride, so that’s what I did! I rode my bike to the library, worked for a while, and then made my way home. In just a little bit I’m going to the plant store, too! It’s been a wonderful day.

59/100 days of productivity

Studied in the library because I have an exam today and I’m scared!! I’m having such a bad week and it has barely started. I really wanna do good in my exams but somehow I don’t think I will. Cried on my way to the library and then I doodled that stupid little comic to cheer myself up, it kinda worked but I’m still incredibly anxious.

Day 1/100 days of productivity

I had a sleepover with my friend last night which was big fun, but now o have so much work to do. Right now I’m studying for my math test tomorrow, which I’m really worried about because this unit has been kind of hard and this test is the last big grade for the semester. Wish me luck!
