Hey don't cry, okay? Cut up half a zuchini and sauté it in a pan on medium heat with olive oil, a little butter, and a sprinkle of garlic salt, black pepper, and paprika. When the slices start getting a lil golden-brown take them out and put them aside. Then you're gonna cut up some cherry tomatoes and cook them in the same pan with more butter and pinch of regular salt until they're just getting soft, then put them aside too, leaving as much of the buttery zuchini-tomato residue in the pan as you can. Okay, then crack 2-3 eggs in there and add a little more garlic salt and paprika and pepper—and maybe some hot sauce if you want—and scramble them as they cook. When they're just about done mix the tomatoes and zuchini back in so everything's all nice and warm. You can even throw some cheese in there too. Have toast on the side and some coffee or tea, alright? It's gonna be okay.

Cockatrice Ankake and an Eastern Style Meal
Got my trusty clay pot out to make this one. Ground turkey for the cockatrice stir fried with pumpkin and kohlrabi with some soy sauces, ginger, white pepper, and shaoxing wine for seasoning. Used dashi (from the other dish's seaweed soup), soy sauce, mirin, sake, and corn starch for the egg sauce. Came out really well but a bit wet on the bottom so I didn't get as much of the crispy grains I wanted. Maybe because the barley was precooked.
Most of Maizuru's meal I got from the store. They had shochujikomi mackerel in the freezer area that I baked up and I had a bunch of pickles saved up in the fridge that I pulled an assortment of. Made my own simple seaweed soup and onigiri.
So filling, we couldn't even get through half of it tonight. A couple more pics of the components of the bowl below the cut!

could I please ask 🫄🤢 for Exis and 🤤🤒 for Belle? <3
This Ask Game
Exis
🫄- It's not very likely most of the time, they've got a pretty big capacity before it really reaches over eating levels, and they're usually at a bit of a calorie deficit with how active they are and of often they change forms. (Not to mention they're pretty focused on not over burdening the folks around them-) That being said...
There have been a LOT of time that's their own body works against them. They'll think they have more room because they were just/ are a larger creature, and when they change back their stomach gets smaller but their meal stays the same size. This has lead them to being obnoxiously stuffed on more than one occasion.
🤢- That's a really tough one because their stomach changes pretty frequently, but I'd say coffee and chocolate wouldn't do their tummy any good, and they try to avoid either when they can since they don't even really like the flavor.
Belle
🤤- I did not expect this to be as hard to answer as it was, but I'll give it a shot. She's not the biggest fan of having a really sloshy feeling stomach, so she likes to fill up first, but nothing quite matches that absolutely all encompassing, delightful and cozy feeling of filling in all the gaps of her stomach with a warm drink or broth at the end of a big meal. Even better when she ate something bready and absorbent so she can really push herself to feel just over perfectly full.
🤒- Belle isn't super prone to tummy aches, but she's pretty far from having a steel gut. She's just very careful about what she eats. She IS however a bit more likely to get tummy aches when she's spending time with friends and wants to be polite- or when she tries to push her limits and eat more than usual.

I have been making this breakfast sandwich once a weekend for like... 5 weeks now? It's REALLY good! Read below for my BDG breakfast sandwich tips ✨
First things first, all of the ingredients for this freeze and thaw really well so if you're worried about buying like a bunch of sausage and not getting enough use out of it just cut patties and throw it in the freezer :) I've been keeping the buns, sausage, and bacon in the freezer and then thawing what I need the night before I plan to make it (the frozen hash browns just go straight in the pan, the bacon could too but I'd recommend thawing the sausage). The official ingredients list is:
Buns
Sausage
Bacon
Egg
Frozen hash browns
Cheese
Ketchup
⚠️ INGREDIENTS ALERT ⚠️: There's quite a bit here and you can use less sausage and hash browns especially than you think you might need. This sandwich is quite heavy for me so I think less can be more for this one. Of course this varies person to person so measure with your heart 🫶
I don't have a nice long flat pan like BDG has in his vid, but I managed just fine with a standard nonstick skillet and had my smaller skillet on another burner be the "warming zone". I can confirm that after a few times this sandwich only takes about 30 min to put together (even for two people) + clean up. Just start with the bacon and sausage to get the juices flowing, then throw down the hash browns and finish off with the egg and toasting the bread.
HASH BROWN TIPS: Easily the hardest part of this is getting the hash browns correct so here is some advice:
Get em in the pan early and let them sit. They will take the longest out of all the items if you want to get em real crispy since you're probably taking them straight from the freezer
DON'T MESS WITH THEM. LET THEM SIT. Even with this advice though I had a hard time getting them to stick together in a patty (maybe it's the brand I'm using? 🤔) so...
If you're having trouble getting them to stay together, use a bit of egg or melt cheese on top to force them to stick :)
If they do end up falling apart, you can still use them on the sandwich: put the ketchup on the bottom bun as glue and sprinkle your hash browns on top and they won't fall off the sandwich, then top with the other ingredients.
My personal modifications: The best part of cooking is doing whatever you want so here's my personal shake ups:
Pepper jack cheese cause it's the best cheese
I don't scramble my eggs cause I love a runny yolk - the technique to still getting a "patty" out of the egg is to have the pan real hot then crack it at the edge of the pan and carefully flip it over itself so you cook the whites around the yolk, tilting the pan and using the wall to help maneuver the egg. Yes this results in a far messier sandwich. No I don't care.
PEPPER!!! Crank that shit babyyyy (for context I have a pepper grinder)
Genuinely don't remember if BDG does this in his vid but I like to toast both sides of the bun and kinda squish it down a bit. Due to the egg this has the potential to be a tall sandwich so this helps reduce the height
Overall an excellent breakfast sandwich to me as someone who is a breakfast sandwich connoisseur. I was skeptical about the hash browns and ketchup but they really do add some good flavor to the sandwich. I recommend making it once or twice matching BDG's recipe before getting silly with it (I think it's important to start from the beginning if you can to learn what YOU think works and what doesn't before making a bunch of changes. I would not have used ketchup if the recipe didn't call for it but it's a great addition and I always use it now). I think he also has some great tips - the one about letting the sausage patty cook a bunch on one side, then flipping and using the crispy to flatten it out is so genius. I ❤️ lazy cooking
FUTURE RESEARCH: I have some ideas for what to do next with my sandwiches personally. I'm looking forward to trying these and you should like this post if you want to hear about my future endeavors:
Using cheap croissants as the bread. I love cheap crappy croissants, they're SO GOOD on breakfast sandwiches so I need to try them here
Removing the bacon or sausage. Like I mentioned, I think this is a pretty heavy sandwich and I don't think both are needed (though they are REALLY good). I might get just as much enjoyment without both personally
Adding avocado. I love avocado + bacon + egg sandwiches so this would be perfect for me personally with the has browns
I should possibly try thawing some hash browns to see if they stick together better when thawed first...
(unrelated to the sandwich) I now have a massive bag of hash browns in my freezer cause these don't come in small amounts. I've personally never been a big hash brown person... but making them real thin and crispy for this sandwich has opened a new door for me. I will be cooking them more to see what else I can do with em

I think I've finally figured out how to feed all three cats in the same room without Conflict happening.
Prime and Two know to go to their plates when I'm getting ready for bed, and they've been good about doing so for years. Three has been the Problem.
He knows where his plate is, but he doesn't want His food, he wants Prime's food, or he wants to eat with her as a bonding thing because he loves her despite her being like. I can not stress this enough, Consistently avoidant of him and Mean when he gets her cornered (Three is about 5lbs 5months, Prime is 12lbs and 5years he is not a threat to her, she just fucking hates him)
Two Loves Three, but does he ever want to eat with Her? no. Because he has a rock in his skull. Anyways.
The method is, Pick up 3. get a scoop of food and put it on his plate, put him down so that he is facing the wall.
Get a scoop for 2, put it on her plate, tell her she's pretty and that I love her. She will not eat if I don't do this.
Pick up 3 and put him back at his plate. tell him he's a sweet baby and pet him if he wants it. This is for me, he usually doesn't want pets at dinner time
Get Primes food, put it on her plate. Put 3 back at his plate facing the wall. Pet Prime until she is ready to eat, she will not eat if she doesn't get her dinner petting and it's the main reason I can't go on trips that are longer than 2 days because after day 2 of not getting her dinner pets she just. stops eating until I get back. Put 3 back at his plate.
Go to bed, say goodnight to 2 beside the door because she likes to walk me to my room before she finishes her meal. Go to bed.
also to clarify: There's at least 5feet between all three cats and prime and three are on opposite sides of the apartment. it's not a short distance he's going in his quest to bother her.
I haven't had to break up any hissing in a few days so I Think not drawing Three's attention to Prime after everyone is settled is working.

I've been craving nachos so today I planned to make some for dinner. Decided I'd go extra fancy, so I pulled some ground bison out of the freezer to thaw. Wound up feeling very lazy (and achy) and realized I forgot to buy some of the things I've been wanting on nachos, so I went the lazy route.
Microwaveable cuban style black beans and Daiya non dairy zesty cheese sauce. Wound up being exactly what I was craving so I'm very happy. Still want to make fancy ones, but that will have to wait a bit.
