Supper Metroid broth. (Actually, it’s Prime games, but...)
Thanks again to @ bearborg for various corrections and additions!

I’m personally fond of this scrapped cutscene from Corruption, likely from the prologue sequence:

In Magma Pool in Chozo Ruins...

...there’s a fair bit of unnecessary detail underneath the opaque magma. Morph Ball for scale. Maybe the room was initially modeled empty, and then the lava was added later...?
Edit: The room was originally filled with water!

This actually tracks well with the water present in the adjacent Meditation Fountain and nearby Ruined Fountain. Either way, it does seem like it was switched to lava later in development, probably for gameplay reasons.

There are also non-interactable fish present in the water, labeled Chomper Fish. More on those later.

You don’t really need Thermal Visor on for most of the game, but I do recommend flicking it on every now and then, because it’s quite well-considered. For instance, the beetles hiding underground (this is from this halfpipe) show up as warm spots. (The icy beetles in Phendrana do not - I guess those ones are cold-blooded?)

In the room in the Phendrana lab where you encounter the first actual Metroid of the game, there are displays on the wall featuring diagrams of Hunter Metroids.

Specifically, it’s edited versions of the righthand piece of concept artwork. Cute foreshadowing, going with scans in the same lab which mention Hunter Metroids by name but don’t describe them.

In Chamber Access, which you pass through leaving after getting Gravity Suit, there’s a frozen pool in the floor, and...

Inside the pool are dead fish - the same model as the fish in the unused version of Magma Pool. It’s not like they’re invisible from above, but pretty hard to notice or appreciate.

Not something I found, but apparently there’s even one in the lab. Someone must have really liked this fish.

The main tunnel is... collapsed... so you only ever go through the smaller tunnel to the side.

But the main tunnel is in fact fully modeled, since you can see it through the gaps in the rocks. It’s... there’s really nothing interesting in here, it’s just a tunnel...
I do have to wonder if at some point the blockage was going to be Power Bombable, so you could pass through easily in lategame. Power Bombing that corpse would probably bother people though...

Invisible detail inside Samus’ gun. Not invisible, just used in idle animations! Same goes for the equivalent in Prime 1. I don’t stand still very often, apparently.

...If you guessed “those tiny light dots in the distance that look like dirt on the screen” ... you’re right! Computer, enhance.

That’s better. This is another one of Corruption’s fish “““birds”””, the Vaporwing. They’re basically unnoticeable when playing normally - it doesn’t help that they’re basically only found in this room, Arrival Station. I had read about them but had never been able to notice them when playing normally.
Vaporwings kind of look like Rinkas (the ring enemies in Tourian/CU chambers), but unused logbook data states they were designed as pets. I think they’re cute!

Some more fun Skytown tricks. This tram (to West Skytown) appears to extend far into the distance,

But it just extends really far out (stretching as well) and then the textures fade out to transparency. Looks great though!

Also all the pods in the distance are flat images.

There are a couple Reptilicus skeletons in the entranceway to Bryyo Ice, as well as in Bryyo Ice proper (in the appropriately named Imperial Crypt). They’re pretty detailed in a way that looks like the artist used an actual reference, likely some kind of dinosaur.
This prisoner has slightly more bones than the other one (or the dead emperors), so I’ll look at him.

Skull, replete with three eye sockets.

You know, because Reptilicus have three eyes. Something which I definitely noticed. The middle eyesocket is pretty small, so it might be a parietal eye? Unclear.
Otherwise resembles a relatively anthropomorphic dinosaur. (I’d love to be more specific, but like... I’m not qualified.) Those teeth would be great for catching things but too long and pointy for chewing. All chunks diet!

The whole “four arms” thing has somewhat more consideration put into it than you’d expect, with two sets of scapulas and a four-pronged collarbone. The lack of a sternum is consistent with dinosaur anatomy, as is the ribcage extending all the way down to the hipbones.

What I mistook for gonads last time was probably this bone, which can sort of... jut out in a way which looks funny. To mammals.

Detailed spinny plinth for the portal, because... because??? When would any normal person ever look at this. Why isn’t it just a flat texture. Give it up for whoever did this.

Two things about this screenshot:
1. While most enemies are represented by just a single orange dot in the radar in the upper left, Omega Ridley has a fully-animated Ridley-shaped array of dots. It really helps with figuring out what he’s doing during his flying phase.
2. There’s no lock on the doors in the Leviathan seeds. So if you could get up there... then you can just leave! Just walk out! If it sucks, hit da bricks!!!

This attack is just really silly-looking.
Hunters
I’ve somehow managed to bludgeon Desmume into sort of doing most of what I want, thanks to its layer-hiding features and this deeply crusty Lua script. (No insult to the author - I’m grateful for anything, really.) So, numerous issues aside, now I can get accurate fog, lighting, etc.
If you or anyone you know is versed in DS game hax, please get in touch, since I could use some help making Hunters display correctly in custom aspect ratios. 4:3 is usually fine though.

While obviously I’ve improved the resolution, Desmume also has the option to use “texture smoothing”, i.e. applying a filter to textures. The difference is more noticeable in textures that are up close, where you can really smell the pixels.
Smooth is possibly how the game was intended to look in 2004 (based on renders by the game’s environment artists), and it would match the other Prime games more. However it’s 2022 and I feel that the Quake 1 look is what’s won out aesthetically. It’s not a huge difference either way though.

There was a pretty decent 3rd person mode hack included with the cheat database I downloaded.

Full range of motion. The low-poly models in this game are really charming and surprisingly faithful to the series aesthetic. I’m really glad there weren’t any other DS line Metroid games that tried to do like, a weird chibi thing instead! 😂😂😂
...I’m reluctant to give too much kudos, though, since the lead character artist also made a version with... a very “breasty” breastplate.

Wow! I hate it!

In the regular first person mode Samus is just a gun, as usual.

A fun performance-saving trick: Hunters tries really hard to only render what the player can see, such as just the small sliver of the area you can see through doorways, openings, etc. (By no means a technique unique to this game.)
It does get weird when the camera is offset from the player though, which limits what I can do quite a bit.

On Alinos, there’s this extremely tempting “Hole”. It has a health restore in it! Surely nothing bad would happen if you went in it! (This is exactly how I approached it on first playthrough.)

In another one of Hunters’ finer moments, you are forced to take a slow-moving platform across Arcterra’s long and winding Drip Moat, briefly turning the game into a very dull rail shooter.
However, after cheating my way out of the platform’s iron grip... yeah, the lip around the edge of the moat is totally standable.

The morph ball’s rolling animations don’t seem to work, but otherwise it's fine. So... that’s great.

Mostly for technical reasons - apparently I’m not authorized to remove the HUD, even using Dolphin’s texture replacement features, so it’s not exactly fun as a photo simulator. (Having beaten it, I can say it’s not particularly fun as a regular video game either.)
Edit: It appears it is possible to remove the HUD via Dolphin’s graphics mod feature, proving once again that Dolphin is the most powerful emulator on earth. Still not happening again. Probably.

I've been thinking about how much I enjoy the way roleplay allows stories to live and grow as they're being told, how it creates such unique narratives that nobody would probably have come up with just writing a conventional story
To some extent this is also something that happens with serialised storytelling, like with many TV shows and audio dramas and comics and even serialised novels, whenever a piece of media isn't fully written in advance, where often the story changes along the way, actors might leave, audiences might latch onto a character nobody expected to be popular so the writers have to quickly write them into more stories, storylines might be so unpopular that they get retconned or otherwise redirected, or the writers might straight up change their minds about something in the middle, etc.
And the result is going to be different from what you'd get if you rewrote the whole thing from the start with the changes in mind. The latter will probably turn out more polished and maybe even actually better, but it won't have quite the same kind of organic charm
Conventional, carefully edited storytelling can be great, and I often appreciate it a lot and strive to achieve it myself, but I also tend to find it kind of boring. Sometimes even when it's great, even when I find it to be a really special and revelatory experience, even if I enjoy it a lot in the moment, I just don't end up going back to it. It doesn't occupy my mind the way more flawed works do (and after all, flaws often create texture and style and what would art be without those)
And like I said, often you don't get the truly unique and strange kinds of narratives in conventional fiction because the strangeness gets edited out and polished out of existence, or just never even comes up because people set out to write a Good Story that follows certain concepts of what makes a story good. Concepts that serialised storytelling often completely ignores, because it's always moving ahead and can't look back
And of course improv storytelling is that but even more so because in improv the whole thing is "written" live. Roleplaying can be fully improv but it can also be somewhat of a fusion of serialised storytelling and improv when there's some sort of GM guiding the story to an extent. (Also of course even in improv you can sometimes have some pre-planned story beats that you're trying to hit)
I really enjoy that sort of middle point between full improv and serialised storytelling where a lot of roleplay series in general live, but of course I particularly enjoy MCRP because there's something really fun about having a setting that the players are able to freely move around in and interact with in real time. I mean I guess the same could be said about other video game roleplay too but I haven't watched any lol (also I think in some ways Minecraft could be uniquely flexible because you really can interact with almost everything)
That's also why I tend to find it really frustrating when people try to make Minecraft storytelling more polished and pre-planned. I enjoy how organic it can be, that's its main charm factor for me
I have more thoughts but I gotta go now do real life stuff so idk maybe I'll continue later (also don't have time to proofread this, sorry, there might be typos and weird wording choices)

Some points I’m tired to answer to in flows of DMs:
Many asks or DMs we get as creators are about how to create CC or mods. And it’s really really cool players are so interested in creating their own content and have many great ideas. Sure we can provide some help to some point, or share few tips and tricks or resources, but it’s ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to teach someone how meshes, textures, tunings etc etc work from A to Z in DMs! Which leads to the 1st point:
Stop being lazy, and READ!
If there are absolutely fantastic tools to help you creating your own TS4 content and making the process easier/faster, there’s no way that without reading tutorials and just by dropping an ask or a DM you’ll be suddenly flowed with all the knowledge about how the game works. Explaining step by step the whole creation process, texture formats, meshing etc etc is insanely time-consuming (btw be super grateful to all the simmers who took the time to share tutorials!) and it’s impossible to be exhaustive via messages. So imagine when you have to repeat all this to 5,10 or 20 different persons... Knowledge is NOT a magic thing which happens by snapping your fingers, you have to work, search, READ, and LEARN. The creator you’re contacting can help you finding the good resources, give you some tips when facing a specific problem, but there’s absolutely no way they can do all the learning and reading for you and in your place.
Sims4Studio is a good place to start learning, there’s plenty very good tutorials there, and most of the issues/questions you’ll face have already been answered there. There’s also Discord servers for creators like Creator Musings.
Know how to use your tools/softwares!
Another point is many people wanna create CC without any knowledge of texture editing or 3D softwares (or modding without any knowledge of Python scripting). Same as 1st point, there’s no way to make you a Blender or Photoshop/Gimp pro via some DMs. You betta work, honey!

Yes it takes time, you won’t be a pro in 2 days, but you’ll feel so happy each time you’ll improve your skills. Have fun in the process of learning, try things, experiment. Making mistakes is how you’ll learn to master your tools and softwares. Same as 1. , there’s plenty tutorials on the Internet depending on the softwares you wanna use.
CC creation or modding isn’t rocket science, but it doesn’t mean it requires no skills at all!
Start with small and realistic projects
The “I wanna create a super complex mod but I know nothing about modding” or “I wanna make a complete hair, outfits etc collection from scratch with no knowledge of Blender or Photoshop”, no, not realistic at all.
Start small, and take the time to do it well! For CC just try a nice recolor for example. Then, once you understood how textures and texture editing work, you can try a retexture (and create normal and specular maps). And create more and more complex things as you’re improving your skills.
(We all started somewhere, my first CC and mods were absolute trash, so don’t feel bad if you don’t succeed at the beginning, that’s ok).
If you start with too ambitious projects you may get easily frustrated to not be able to achieve them like it was in your mind. So stay realistic and take all the time you need to improve your skills. Keep your more complex ideas/projects somewhere in a folder, and go back to them once you’re ready :)
And the most important thing: HAVE FUN!!!
That’s just human nature, learning is much more easier if you’re enjoying what you’re doing. Don’t do a creation because it’s “trending” or because the community asks for it if it’s not your cup of tea. Use your own ideas, don’t be afraid to think outside the box. This is a super creative community, open to very diverse styles and ideas.
Find what makes you happy. Do things you wanna play the game with. Put your heart and personality in your creations :) It may sound cheesy, especially when it comes to a bunch of pixels or scripting, but it is what it is.

17. How easily would they be convinced to do something that goes against their morals?
Not easily, Regis would be figuratively (and likely literally as well) kicking and screaming to get out of the situation. His general attitude during ME2 was a good example of this; he finds working with Cerberus one of the worst things due to all he discovered in ME1, and every day he's on that ship feels like he is betraying himself and the life he got back. It helps that he has Zaeed and knows his motives for joining, but Regis definitely went off on Joker and Chakwas when he found out they deserted the Alliance to join Cerberus for him.
30. If they had the chance to be famous would they take it? If they are famous would they rather they weren't?
Regis is quite conflicted with his fame. On one hand, he has long since embraced the Butcher of Torfan title and what it represents. He knows what he is and what he can do, and honestly, he's okay with that. On the other hand, he never really wanted the Spectre position due to how utterly powerful it can make him in the grand scheme of things. So, I would say Regis is fine with his fame to an extent, but the events of ME3 causes him to wear quite thin, and he's not above chewing other leaders out for more of less placing most of the front lines and essential negotiations on him because he's Shepard and he must be able to do everything, right? But he's also willing to leverage his fame and his title when necessary, so... Regis likes when things benefit him, but for him the Spectre title was a little too far. He stays with the Spectres after the war despite this because of how important he is as the first human Spectre, but he's still not happy with it.
50. What is your favorite thing about them?
aw geez I love and hate this question because I can talk so much about it. I say this as someone who sculpted and edited textures and made mods for the damn guy, but damn am I proud of his in game appearance. I am so proud of myself for being able to just fireup the game, and take screenshots and make scenarios involving Regis and his lovers and his friends, and it's fucking great!
Modding aside, my other favorite thing about him is that he's become a way of presenting an alternative shepard path that may not be the popular one, but I don't care because I love it. He doesn't like Garrus, Liara is damn near his enemy number one after ME2 AND he does her mission last in ME1, he saves both Kaidan and Ash on Virmire and considers them his closest companions, he has casualties during the suicide mission and while he does eventually become civil with Miranda and Jacob, he never really lets his walls down around them, he's not afraid to talk back and he chews out the Asari for thessia and all the 'blame' that's put on him, and so on. He's an angry, judgmental, stubborn, and passionate boy that's full of love for the few people he trusts and lets in and I just adore him. And recently, I've added Zaeed to his endgame relationship and I'm enjoying the hell out of that ;)

Hello Bunnies
My name in the Sims 4 community is Sammoyke Murasaki, but please call me Sam if you wish. I have played the Sims franchise for almost 20 years. In those years I have grown attached to custom content being involved in my gameplay but only in Sims 4 was I truly able to consider making my own content. A few things to know about my Patreon, why I decided to make it, and what I desire out of it.
1. Easy Access to My Content
After a lot of different methods of attempting to share my CC, I kept finding myself losing motivation to update and manage my content. Since I am a devoted CC shopper myself, I paid close attention to what I found were the easiest methods to use, as someone downloading. Patreon simply always seemed to be not only the easiest to download but also the fastest. After some consideration, I decided that I would give this method a try.
2. Free Content is Free
As I said earlier, I have played Sims since Sims 1 which means the idea of paying for CC has never really felt comfortable. That doesn't mean I won't happily support some of my favorite custom content creators with likes, shares, and donations but I have an aversion to sites that use shady and annoying adware links and ads, and I am particularly disgusted by paywall creators. So, one of the things that are really important to me is that I provide my CC for FREE with NO guilty strings attached. I am not going to burden my followers with my personal life struggles and encourage donations. I will be straight up with you that it's HIGHLY likely any patron donations I receive will go to fund my Monster Java Coffee drinks that I partake in while creating CC. I do not require your financial support but if you decide you want to show gratitude in that way, this Crybaby will shed grateful tears and send you bunny hugs.
3. Sharing is Caring
What I hope to get out of sharing my sims 4 CC here is simple enough, I want to give back to the very community I have benefited from for all these years. Thousands of cc items have been downloaded by yours truly, just for the Sims 4 game alone, so naturally, it feels only right and fair to try and offer something back. That said, I don't claim to create groundbreaking custom content, but I do hope that the things I create are enjoyed by some simmers and add to your gameplay experience the way other creators' creations have added to mine for almost two decades.
4. The Plan
I will be adding previously made custom content from the past three years over the next couple of days. I will then aspire to create something for the community on a weekly basis. Though I might not always be able to make "bundles" or "packs" every week, I will do my best to make visiting my Patreon often worth your time.
5. Maxis Match "Guarantee"
Because I am not a mesh creator and specialize more in textures and recolors I can safely promise that nearly all my CC will be Maxis Match in that nearly everything will be a Maxis Match item. I do try to change things significantly with the item to make it worth adding it to your collection and that does sometimes include small mesh edits. I do tend to use higher resolutions for my textures, though I would not consider them HD. I simply feel that as much as I love this game, the quality of some in-game items is less than it could be, I aim to provide clear, good-quality retextures/recolors. If you see problems with any of the items I offer, don't hesitate to let me know, I can miss things! Please make sure to read any descriptions for the item you're downloading in case certain issues have been addressed in the download.
6. Simmer Opinions
I want to know what you would like to see! I will hold polls when I am wrestling with ideas or stuck on what concept to tackle. Polls will be public.

For my own sanity, I fix those textures and sometimes completely overhaul the items' appearance. For this project, as it was a 3D project I want to go into more detail and look into using substance painters to create a more stylized look or photorealism in games. For the project I decided to go towards more stylized given the context of my concept, I ended up using a mixture of Maya, Substance painter and I touched upon Zbrush however for the style I eventually settled with I didn't need to use Zbrush. Using Substance Painter I learned how to bake mesh maps, and simple textures, edit layers, and paint directly onto the meshes. I followed quite a few tutorials to learn this as well as studying different styles on ArtStation and Pinterest. In my proposal, I said that I wanted to do the game from a tilted perspective rather than just top-down.
At first, I really wanted the concept to be based around a rat being guided through a lab maze, as if they were testing rats in the real world. However with this concept, I didn't have a creative enough solution to make the game alternative control, this led the game to becoming a gyro game where the rat is following a ball of cheese that gets rolled around. I started off by wanting to do a low poly style with flat gradient shaders, but that style slowly shifted to more detailed stylised models with a more painted style.
I'm quite proud of how my project came out, it's a shame that I couldn't finish it or fix the size of some of the models. However, I am still extremely pleased with how the models came out. I did meet my project proposal as I had a finished marble maze-style tilt maze, with a fully movable gyro. I didn’t get to finish some aspects of the project like add-in stuff on the floor or the tubes and buttons, I think given more time on the project I would have been able to add these details to the game.
I think my project meets the brief as gyro controls are fairly uncommon in console and PC games because you'd have to connect an extra piece of equipment unless it's a Nintendo Switch. Gyro controls are also super useful for people with poor motor control.
I really enjoyed this project and it definitely helped me explore substance painting more and work out how to better apply texture to models and create more depth in a very simplistic lower poly model. I think for the next project I will focus a little more on fleshing out my concept and ideas, as that is the part my projects are always lacking. I think finding a better way/ tool to help me explore would make a considerable difference. I'm proud of how much better my initial research was for this project and I definitely think it helped me work out where I wanted to take the project and what I wanted the experience to be.

Bringing Food to our Parafolks’ Plates
27. Januar
Hello everyone! Léa and Chloé here.
We have been working on something exciting behind the scenes. While we have already tackled the overall environments and vegetation’s art styles, there was still something we had yet to test out: food! We had a lot of fun working on it, so we are excited to show our work to you all today.
For the past few weeks, we have been defining the style for our food. We selected a few meals in order to test out a few things. We needed to first see how we could make the assets look tasty with the limited resolution we have available, but we also had to see how we would be representing different food textures.

This family couldn’t decide what to eat for dinner, so they all cooked different meals!

We decided to try creating a Japanese curry dish to test how we would draw rice and thick stew-like textures. Making the rice readable from a distance and not look like a white ball was quite tricky! No pain, no grain.

Creating ramen was a must have for us; a lot of team members really enjoy ramen. We got to see how we can draw noodles soaked in broth and meat slices. Yummy!

When in doubt, just put sauce on spaghettis; the pastabilities are endless! This plate needed a complex hand drawn texture, but thankfully we’re going to be able to reuse it for different pasta recipes.

A good old club sandwich was a great way to see how we could make a triangle interesting! We wanted our sandwich to be imperfect, thick and appetizing. Many sandwiches have been eaten during this test, for research purposes, of course.

After eating a heavy meal, what’s better than some healthy fruits? This fruit bowl may end up being more decorative than an actual food item in the game, but it helped outline how different fruits should look like in meals for the future.

A French romantic date out in the garden! We even thought about the fizzy expensive drink. Like with the club sandwich, we didn’t want the cake slices to just be sharp triangles, so we instead opted for a more organic feel with some slight imperfections.

Film Project - Post Production Sound
Sound design - my first love and the one I’ll always go home to.

I didn’t realise how much I’d missed her - it was only one trimester without her, but one too many. This is a definite step up from the last narrative sound design I did on the course, back in second year for Girl and the Game. Zoe’s sound classes have helped so much in understanding the whole process from start to finish and in streamlining work and organising my session. I had colour coded routing folders with attached submixes, a master fader (seems simple, just something I never used to do), lots of automation; I listened to bounces on lots of different speakers to see what was coming through; I did ADR and foley passes (not in the booth, but still). I’m really happy with this work on a technical level and look forward to getting into my project with Zoe at some point soon to see where it can be improved.

Sound design is an area where I feel I can be intuitive and creative in a very different way from doing cinematography. Not that I necessarily enjoy one more than the other, they’re just very different. I love being able to experiment on the job and not have it be entirely make or break, like shooting on set. The clock ticking effect and the score both went through a few versions - being built on then being stripped back then being built on some more. The final score (at the pitch sequence) is made up of some location recordings I did when filming, just me smacking a big pole cos it had a great reverberation to it. I had a bunch of recordings, some rhythmic, some just single hits and some with as much reverb as possible. I layered up a rhythmic drumming section of the recording with one of the reverb that I put in reverse and a bass tone I found in a sound library. I think it really helps to accentuate the panicked emotion of the scene and the lingering dread afterwards. I also used the location recordings to add to the music that Eva had put in in her edit, Lobo Loco’s Funeral Procession, emphasising every odd beat and adding some reversed reverb to drive us into the next scene.

A lot of the sound design was inspired by Eva’s work in the edit, with the score at the hill being from the picture lock and also the gas leak/phone call sound at the start coming from Eva and Adam. Bringing it back at the end really helped to tie the narrative together. While the film is intimate and patient, Eva’s created a strong momentum underneath it which really helped the film to always be doing something. This meant I had a lot to work with and wasn’t fighting the image too much with my narrative choices. 
Another aspect I really enjoy is the sound sweetening. There were a few recordings that just weren’t quite right and taking the time to play around with the Equalizer was really rewarding. For example, the footsteps of young Natalia walking up the spiral hill, although recorded in the space, didn’t feel like they matched the image. It was a very cold night, so the grass was frosty, resulting in a very crunchy footstep, which didn’t come across in the visuals. So taking out the high end of these recordings made them sound more appropriate. Natalia also wanted the sound of the phone ringing on the bridge to be quite grating so I played about with distortion to make it sound cracklier, more agitating.

The stereo recordings from set worked well as a bed of sound, a good basis for the sound design. Being able to pick out small sections with a variety of different textures really helped to subtly move the audience into the right headspace. One of the moments I’m happiest with (even though I worry that it is subtle to the point of impactless) is the phone call scene on the bridge. I wanted to create the idea that the phone call is a possible escape from the environment and when it doesn’t reach anyone, we feel Natalia’s isolation and loneliness. So, to try and achieve this, I automated the panning of my stereo tracks, bringing them centre and took out a bit from the top and bottom ends of the sound slowly as the phone call goes on, so the environment feels more “manageable”, before bringing it all back once she’s all alone again. I think it creates the desired subconscious psychological effect and works well with the image as we go from the close-ups to the wides, but hey, no one I showed it to noticed it and I still have no clue if it works at all.

This is one of the first times that I’ve done more recording past the point of starting a sound design and it helped a lot. I asked Connor (the voice of the gasman) if he could rerecord his lines outside, as, in the picture lock where we had recording from inside, the voice didn’t feel right in the space, no matter how much I fucked with it. It felt too much like a voice-over, rather than something the character has experienced. This rerecording helped a lot in order to communicate what was necessary. I also did some breathing passes with Natalia (from a note from Jenny, great advice) which helps to elevate the pitch sequence and make us feel more present with young Natalia throughout. One key sound element was missing when we went into the final sound design and that was the boys walking past when she’s playing with the dog. I am a little annoyed with this section as I had left it too late. I rounded up all the people at Screen Academy who were from Glasgow and recorded them walking round the corner, had them kick a can and laugh a lot. It kind of works, this sequence, I just wish the individual elements were stronger. We’ve got the location recording of young Natalia picking up the dog and hiding, we’ve got the dog whines I added in, the score, the breathing and the boys walking past, getting in a car and driving off. Together, there’s almost enough there to work with, but I think a clearer recording, in the correct space would help a lot, as I was trying to match different elements together to create one action. I added in all the car sounds which were from a sound library and an extra shout and then had to match the quality of the sound to the ones that I had recorded. But yeah, I think the final effect is missing proper cohesion between all the elements.

The wild tracks I recorded on set were very useful for creating presence. I had to add in clearer recordings of footsteps, coat sounds, dog sounds and rain because the sync sound was getting too much from the environment and therefore lacked a bit of clarity. But the wild tracks (once synced to the image) really helped to bring us closer to our subject. The rain recording was of rain on the umbrellas we used on set, but reads well as the rain hitting Natalia’s coat. The footsteps were accurate for each location as I had done a number of recordings and the dog sounds (although an absolute pain to match up with the image) also really helped to add a bit more presence to the sound design.

Finally, the mix. I was wanting to (for the most part) create quite a naturalistic soundscape, so I kept the atmosphere sounds quite low in the mix and relied on the sparse spot effects and foley to push the narrative forward. The three main points where the sound design is more overtly expressionistic is in the opening, the pitch scene and the scored section. For these moments, we wanted to slide a little more into a subjective experience of what happened, and go more into the head of the character. So, the pitch scene had to be more overwhelming, the spiral hill scene more surreal and the opening more dread-inducing. I think the mix works well to build tension and keep us invested in the world. We’re able to hear what we need to hear and feel what we need to feel.
So yeah, I’m really quite happy with my work on this project and while, as said at the crit, it’s quite confusing, I think, as a film, it is interesting enough to get away with the elements that don’t work (namely the casting, which was a logistical necessity to be fair). But more on this in my crit reflection. In terms of my work, I think I am becoming more technically competent and experienced, I’m more aware of what I need in terms of location recording in order to make a good piece of work and I’m more able to experiment with different expressionistic techniques.

During the Mini House special events, I obtained all the furnishing items and had already unlocked all the furniture in the home so I thought for Gavin’s Birthday Week, I would share all of the little secrets it contains!

The front wall stores a variety of flowers.
The flowers on the entire flower wall are all preserved fresh flowers.

Here in the Leisure Time special happening, MC and Gavin talk about the swing they had in high school. MC is surprised that Gavin knew about the view of the sunset when being on it. The sofa in the corner always makes people feel safe.

Seasons slip by soundlessly.
No matter how small their wishes are, they will become seeds and eventually bloom in gold.

It guards the serene life here quietly over in the corner.

It's’ wonderful when two people are sitting here reading, even if they don’t talk.
Standing barefoot on the soft lawn is very comfortable.
There's nothing nicer than basking ourselves when its sunny.
Binoculars
The white binoculars which you can see things several miles away.
You can use it to watch the stars when it’s not too cloudy.
But star-watching is clearer mid-air.
Seems to be the same binoculars as those in the scenic area.
The binoculars in the scenic area require coins, but this one doesn't.
Outdoor Lounge Chairs 
The new furniture I asked Gavin to buy.
Can enjoy the sunlight spa comfortably when relaxing. 
Closing my eyes, I feel like I’m lying on a beach.
The soft breeze and warm sunshine. This is life.

Minecraft headcanons no one asked for

this sweetheart loves playing with you whenever you ask him to! it relaxes him a lot, plus just having fun with you is making him really happy.
he stays somewhere near you, ALWAYS. he’s way too embarrassed to admit he’s scared (same Rin, same), so whenever he yelps or jumps on his bed because he heard a zombie growl, you can laugh as much as you want, but don’t be surprised if he shoots a glare at you and pouts.
he’ll bring you whatever you want. wood? fine. iron? no problem, he’s already on his way to find a cave (even if he’s afraid of caves.. he’ll do it for you).
he’s not very good at building, so usually he leaves it to you, and it doesn’t really matter whether you live in a “house” made out of dirt or a full ass mansion; no matter what your building skills are, he’s gonna praise you anyway.
sucks at parkour. DON’T ask him to play a parkour map, he’s gonna whine and barely make one jump.
speaking about bad jumping, he’s really clumsy and somehow always ends up with the highest death streak. for example, he’s sprinting to kill a pig, but somehow doesn’t notice a fucking lava pool below him and jumps right into it. accidentally hits a zombie piglin (or pigman, depends on what version you play on) and he’s dead.
HOWEVER, he’s the guy who gets really lucky. do you remember/have a person/friend that always manages to get diamonds first? yep, it’s him. gets the best enchants. both on books and tools or armor. he also gets the ender dragon kill first too.
he won’t play without optifine and texture pack other than the default one. he hates it. his fave is faithful and if it doesn’t work, he’s constantly commenting on how the default one is hurting his eyes.
he will NOT survive listening to both disc “11″ and “13″ he hates it. don’t play it unless you want him to cry.
hasn’t played alpha nor beta versions, but he likes watching vids of it! he gets very nostalgic, which honestly bewilders him because he started playing way after beta. sometimes you can catch him listening to the old soundtrack all teared up, or falling asleep to it.
LOVES GREEN PARROTS. one of them is named after you.

unlike rin, he’s always complaining about you asking him to play, but he’s obviously gonna do it (because he loves u,, even if he says he doesn’t). it also relaxes him, but mostly, he likes it because he’s able to get his mind off of “adult things” and finally get some rest.
wooo, he’s the brave one. he isn’t afraid of zombie gurgles or anything like that, so he’s always going to caves first (and gets lost because he’s literally going deeper and deeper FDMKFMV). however, there’s one thing that always startles him... cave sounds. he doesn’t scream, but if you’re near him, you can sometimes witness his character spinning or jerking his head in another direction because of it vcxkvnjhbv
don’t, i repeat, dON’T make fun of him afterward. he’s gonna go all the way back to you and kill you (and then go back mining.. like nothing happened).
the perfectionist. always mines all the resources he sees; during building something he also always makes sure everything’s proportional. gladly counts blocks for you, if your brain can’t work anymore.
now, building! not very skilled with building houses, but he likes building simple decorations, like fountains, gardens or farms. despite him always claiming it’s bad, his work always looks very detailed. not very good with ideas of those things at first, so mainly at the beginning he always finds some inspirations on the internet, but later gets the hang of it and builds his own ideas!
his favorite place to have a house in is somewhere near the ocean.
likes default textures. too used to have anything else.
doesn’t like listening to in-game music, unless it’s something from beta or alpha versions (like “Haggstorm” or “Wet Hands”). Usually listening to his own favorite songs on Spotify.
His favorite disc is “Far”. It used to be “Cat”, but due to him obtaining it like 3000 times he stopped liking it. nor hearing it anywhere near.
when he goes out to get resources and/or food, he comes back with full inventory and shulkers, just like a father that’s about to feed his kids. minimum 10 stacks of iron, coal blocks and food. the nearest 10k chunks of caves is already explored, so you better be ready for a long, lONG WALK to get something new.
he’s also fond of beta versions, but rarely plays them without you.

this motherfucker wants to literally speedrun every fucking game. meanwhile you’re busy making a wooden pick, he’s out there typing “can’t wait to beat the dragon and get elytras~! ★”
remembers literally every recipe for all items and alchemy. personal minecraft wikipedia right there.
he MUST have a fucking mansion, otherwise, he isn’t playing. fortunately, he’s tried building before, so he’s perfectly capable of building one himself. it’s all made out of pink wool and concrete, along with white concrete accents here and there. 
adding to the previous one, he also has a great decorating sense. the rooms look very good, space is filled nicely and is both pretty and practical. the mansion itself looks very good on outside and inside.
of course, the main bedroom that’s designed especially for you two looks WAY TOO GOOD. I'm not even gonna start on him messing with plugins and making it even prettier.
his skin is a random, pink anime girl.
master with redstone. everything’s automated, there also might be hidden rooms with surprises. there’s a hidden shrine dedicated for you. he hasn’t told you about that though... >_>
even though he gets many useful things from the swamp biome, like lily pads or that cyan flowers, he hates this biome with a burning passion. if he sees it anywhere near his render distance he’s spasming and immediately voicing his annoyance. hates that specific, “dirty and unsightly” green water and grass color.
he doesn’t do much mining, but happily goes with you if you ask him to. even if he has no armor on, he never dies. NEVER. there might be 6 creepers but he somehow survives their explosion.
not scared at all. he knows this game like the back of his hand. he might, however, attempt to scare YOU instead. on purpose. or accidentally hit you so you fall from a large height and die. if you get upset at him afterward, he’s gonna give you even better stuff you’ve had before.
HE LOVES PLAYING ALPHA AND BETA. he started to play probably around very early alpha, so coming back to such simpler times is making him somewhat nostalgic (even if he denies it). on those versions, he builds things that used to be popular back in the day, like simple towers of cobblestone or houses inside mountains. it hits him hard when old soundtrack plays.
Amaimon:

he’s very, very confused. first off, he’s not used to the game at all, but then, he googles almost any recipe or asks you thousands of questions about how to make things. after some time, he finally figures out that there’s a book with recipes in game.
he might steal your items, but usually, he gives you back better items. for example, you notice your iron pickaxe is missing, but suddenly he sprints into the house and throws at you diamonds.
oh, he’s aware of the existence of chests, but for some reason, he likes throwing various items at you. he runs off afterward, leaving you with everything on the ground.
don’t introduce him to bedrock edition, he hates playing minecraft with a gamepad, and will smash it immediately. java edition is the only help for this man.
he’s also clumsy, like Rin. he manages to do that less than him somehow, but he tends to die pretty often anyway. his deaths are the stupidest, sometimes he doesn’t even bother explaining it. he literally can die with gravel suffocating him.
once he goes to the nether, he doesn’t wanna go back to the overworld. he says something along the lines of it being similar to gehenna or whatever, but. no matter what version it is - pre- or post- update 1.16, he likes it and that’s it.
his favorite biome in the overworld is jungle - mostly because of the lively color of grass, but also tall trees. he likes having there treehouses and always asks if you can build one (because he sucks at building. even worse than Rin >_>). his fave in the nether is blue forest or basalt biome - however, he becomes mad quickly on the second one due to frequent gaps filled with lava and magma cubes.
he likes normal slimes though. he even has a pet slime!! QwQ
he named his pet slime after Behemoth. keeps it safe in a glass cube and checks on it regularly. Behemoth doesn’t know about it doe.
he bullies every single villager that’s within his sight. burns their homes. the only thing that survives is the iron golem because he thinks it’s cool.
plays with the basic Steve skin. partially because he doesn’t know how to change it and that he isn’t determined enough to look for any.
forgets that crouching exist and falls off almost every cliff or anything that’s considered high.

Hello Bunnies
My name in the Sims 4 community is Sammoyke Murasaki, but please call me Sam if you wish. I have played the Sims franchise for almost 20 years. In those years I have grown attached to custom content being involved in my gameplay but only in Sims 4 was I truly able to consider making my own content. A few things to know about my Patreon, why I decided to make it, and what I desire out of it.
1. Easy Access to My Content
After a lot of different methods of attempting to share my CC, I kept finding myself losing motivation to update and manage my content. Since I am a devoted CC shopper myself, I paid close attention to what I found were the easiest methods to use, as someone downloading. Patreon simply always seemed to be not only the easiest to download but also the fastest. After some consideration, I decided that I would give this method a try.
2. Free Content is Free
As I said earlier, I have played Sims since Sims 1 which means the idea of paying for CC has never really felt comfortable. That doesn't mean I won't happily support some of my favorite custom content creators with likes, shares, and donations but I have an aversion to sites that use shady and annoying adware links and ads, and I am particularly disgusted by paywall creators. So, one of the things that are really important to me is that I provide my CC for FREE with NO guilty strings attached. I am not going to burden my followers with my personal life struggles and encourage donations. I will be straight up with you that it's HIGHLY likely any patron donations I receive will go to fund my Monster Java Coffee drinks that I partake in while creating CC. I do not require your financial support but if you decide you want to show gratitude in that way, this Crybaby will shed grateful tears and send you bunny hugs.
3. Sharing is Caring
What I hope to get out of sharing my sims 4 CC here is simple enough, I want to give back to the very community I have benefited from for all these years. Thousands of cc items have been downloaded by yours truly, just for the Sims 4 game alone, so naturally, it feels only right and fair to try and offer something back. That said, I don't claim to create groundbreaking custom content, but I do hope that the things I create are enjoyed by some simmers and add to your gameplay experience the way other creators' creations have added to mine for almost two decades.
4. The Plan
I will be adding previously made custom content from the past three years over the next couple of days. I will then aspire to create something for the community on a weekly basis. Though I might not always be able to make "bundles" or "packs" every week, I will do my best to make visiting my Patreon often worth your time.
5. Maxis Match "Guarantee"
Because I am not a mesh creator and specialize more in textures and recolors I can safely promise that nearly all my CC will be Maxis Match in that nearly everything will be a Maxis Match item. I do try to change things significantly with the item to make it worth adding it to your collection and that does sometimes include small mesh edits. I do tend to use higher resolutions for my textures, though I would not consider them HD. I simply feel that as much as I love this game, the quality of some in-game items is less than it could be, I aim to provide clear, good-quality retextures/recolors. If you see problems with any of the items I offer, don't hesitate to let me know, I can miss things! Please make sure to read any descriptions for the item you're downloading in case certain issues have been addressed in the download.
6. Simmer Opinions
I want to know what you would like to see! I will hold polls when I am wrestling with ideas or stuck on what concept to tackle. Polls will be public.
