I get that like not that many people actually like Rebeca but tbh I think she is dead underrated she is one of the only reasons I am watching the show except for Patrick. Literally after the og characters left I didn’t really like it as much. Except for the hole drama with Cayetana and Felipe

I’ve picked up a bunch of followers recently so I thought I’d do an introduction post.
Hello!  I’m a professionally trained historian and while I watched gymnastics as a 4 year fan going back to the 1990s I became deeply interested in the crime/sports administration side of the sport in 2016.... for reasons... and following that meant I was following a lot of sources that also talked about the sport and fell in love.
I delved into a lot of the history of the sport while helping my friend write a novel set in the world of elite gymnastics and some agent better pick that out of the slush pile because it’s soooo good.
As a consequence of that background I tend to come at the sport from a structural and rules point of view.  I love to watch great gymnastics but I’m more likely to look at things more from a code of points strategy point of view because in the end this is actually a sport.
Right now my favorite gymnasts are Kovacs Zsofia, Pauline Schaefer-Betz, Rebeca Andrade, Angelina Melnikova (sigh), Shilese Jones, and Elisabeth Seitz.  I have a large soft spot for German gymnastics and particularly for the much maligned East German gymnasts who I think have been misremembered by American fans bitter over 1988.
I have a lot of feelings about 1988.  And most of them have to do with no one reads the god damn 1988 code of points before they decide who should have won.

“ I've always liked her obvs bc I have eyes, but somehow with Riley retired (or at least not currently doing elite) Rebeca has kinda snuck up to become my favorite gymnast currently competing. Her artistry is fab, her tumbling is insane, and her bars are to die for. LET'S GO GIRL!!! “

Medical training in Vietnam impressively attracts international students.
In the last few days of May, many colleagues from India, Honduras, Nigeria, etc., came to Vietnam to be admitted to the Medical Major of Hong Bang International University (HIU). This is a significant milestone for the Vietnamese board of education, which ultimately targets the education export and marks the trustworthy development of the Medical training in Vietnam. His Excellency Ambassador - Mr. Sanh Chau Pham (the sixth person in his well-vest from left), came to Vietnam with HIU to welcome the first group of Indian students joining the Medical Department Leading to studying abroad. Vietnam has grown as one of the ideal natures, diverse cultures, and amiable citizens in recent years. Moreover, with the steady development of education, Vietnam has become one of the primary choices for many international students looking to study abroad. In May 2022, Hong Bang International University (HIU) accepted more than 30 Indian students who came to Vietnam for a Bachelor's degree in Medical study entirely in English. The program development is based upon the Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Health standards. At the same time, it reformed the medical training programs of advanced countries globally. There are https://hiu.vn/en/home-2/ of six years with twelve semesters. During this time, Ana Rebeca Muñoz Tejada was born and raised in the Republic of Honduras - a country located in Central America, which is luckily eligible to receive the Hypocrates scholarship of HIU in Vietnam. If it was earlier, the language barrier was one of the difficulties for Vietnam in accepting international scholars. Nowadays, this struggle is gradually unleashed when many Universities contribute numerous elite educational programs or connect to many international programs fully in English. "I am very interested in cultures and educational programs in Southeast Asia. I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and spend a lot of time researching Vietnam at Hong Bang International University. Besides the crew of medic professors and the modern infrastructure, a comprehensive English program is one of my favorites. I registered at HIU right away," Ana Rebeca Muñoz Tejada stated. Besides, Olayiwola Oluwakeji Samson from Nigeria has successfully registered his name for the Medical Department at HIU this May. This guy expected to graduate as a Doctor and would like to come back to Nigeria to contribute to the Medical industry in his hometown. Olayiwola Oluwakeji Samson asserted that in Nigeria, there is a proportion of 1:2000, which means every doctor will take care of 200 patients. Therefore, the demand for medical training is developing. And education exports worldwide. In the past ten years, reminding international students to come to Vietnam for admission or graduation has been a peculiar occasion. However, it changed when domestic education reached a higher position. Instead of studying abroad, many young colleagues prefer the complete English programs or other international affiliated programs with an affordable cost cheaper than ten times.
Tumblr media
MA. Quyen Tram Thuy Tran - Vice President of HIU, asserted that HIU officially welcomed the first group of international colleagues admitted to school with the ultimate goal of becoming a preferable school for international students. Therefore, besides learning in lectures and clinics, international scholars will also have opportunities to learn Vietnamese and other remarkable Vietnamese cultures. Students could intern at many affiliated medical facilities such as hospital FV, hospital Thong Nhat, hospital Cho Ray, hospital Nguyen Trai, etc. At the same time, they will also have opportunities to work on other community practical learnings when they join these projects, including the HIU Care - the eye exam and dental care programs for high school students. "Studying at HIU, we are not only taught about skills but also how to love and sacrifice. So in the future, when they step outside of the world, they can confidently stand with their heads held high and proud to say, "These are doctors who graduated from Hong Bang International University," MA. Quyen shared. His Excellency Ambassador - Mr. Sanh Chau Pham, was impressive when many Vietnamese universities endeavored to become elite schools for international students. Therefore, when he gave a speech at the Welcome ceremony for Indian colleagues who came to Hong Bang International University majoring in Medical Study asserted that it brought a significant intention. BOX: Focus on designing the structure of the Healthcare HIU is a multi-majors University. The school comprises various programs and majors, including Health Science concentrates on principal sectors, such as Medical, Dental, Pharmaceutical, Nursing, Rehabilitation Techniques, Medical Examiner, etc. Those are currently training in thirty-six Vietnamese and English programs and affiliating worldwide in most essential sectors needed for social development.

An update on the state of Women’s Elite Gymnastics
I wrote this for someone on reddit who said they hadn’t paid attention since the last Olympics:
Russia has been banned and while there appeared to be some softening language about it the IOC recently has reaffirmed that they will not welcome Russia back into the sporting community until the invasion has ceased. Many of the Russian athletes, who are funded by the state and so may or may not have a choice, have attended propaganda rallies. Including some of the under age gymnasts. Angelina Melnikova has also posted pictures holding a purpose with a Z on it. She won the 2021 World Championship AA and will not be defending her title because of the ban.
The last WAG qualification slots for Worlds were settled this week. The top 3 teams at this years worlds will have qualification to Paris locked up, other spots will be decided at next years worlds and the 2024 world cup series.
Chuso retired for about 3 days and then won a bunch of world cup gold medals. She is qualified (for vault only) to Worlds.  She has however decided to skip worlds this year to upgrade.
Kim Bui of Germany is retiring and her last competition will be Sunday at Euros event finals.
Mai Murakami of Japan retired after winning the 2021 World Floor championships.
Guan Chenchen of China the Olympic beam gold medalist has retired because she doesn't think she has any other goals in the sport
Sanne Wevers of Netherlands (the Rio beam gold medalist) and her sister appear to be holding their breath until the Dutch Federation gives them what they want but she has explicitly not retired. This one is complicated. The twins are coached by their father who was recently the subject of an abuse investigation which ended in a dismissal of the charges but because the investigating body made many procedural errors in the investigation. The Dutch federation declined to renew his employment contract.
Nina Derwael of Belgium, the Olympic Bars gold medalist is taking time off but intends to continue competing.
Melanie de Jesus dos Santos of France has been training with Simone Biles coaches in the US (but will still be competing for France).
The recently finished Commonwealth Games looked very strong for the English team but the AA was won by 24 year old Australian veteran Georgia Godwin. I hope that her win will give some new life to that program.
The Italians are in the process of storming through Euros, Asia D'Amato just won the Euros AA. Both the Italian and British teams look incredibly strong. On the junior side the baby Italians, Romanians and Germans won team medals and the Italians in particular look to have a sustainable next generation. Helen Kevric of Germany has been dominating both the European Youth Olympic Festival and Jr. Euros though. She'll be turning senior in 2024.
Brazil won the Pan American championships, the US team which I wouldn't dismiss entirely as a B team wasn't the strongest possible team and either rate Brazil was solid and the US had many beam disasters. Rebeca Andrade, the silver medal in the Olympic AA is being very careful about trying to not take excessive risks given that she's had a pretty bad injury history so she didn't do floor at the 2021 Worlds but still walked away with a fist full of medals. She's the favorite to win any AA she enters right now.
On the US side, Leanne Wong won the 2021 Worlds AA Silver medal and she is continuing elite as well as NCAA at Florida. She recently won the US classic and looks very solid with a beautiful vault upgrade that looks like it's aiming for a Cheng (there are things to talk about her block at classic but in an overview I'm not doing that). Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey have also continued to train elite but next week's US Champs will be the first time we see them. Sunisa Lee has also announced her intent to continue and attended at least one national team camp but isn't trying for Worlds this year. Trinity Thomas who has blossomed in NCAA has also made noises about returning to elite but that appears to be something she likely wont be doing until next year if at all. There is no evidence that Simone Biles is training or intends to train, she's made some vague statements about continuing around Tokyo but right now she appears to be living her best life and enjoying planning her wedding.
Lexi Zeiss, Shilese Jones and Konnor McClane are probably the other big names in the US program to watch.
Donatella Sacchi, the Italian head of the FIG women's technical committee (that writes the code of points and runs the judges), is on a crusade to return artistry to artistic gymnastics and is now requiring judges to fill out specific artistry deduction justifications to either make sure that the proper deductions are being taken or to invite those who don't to partake in some Amontillado in her basement.
