The Bells toll for 4 Waynes:
Older Brother! Danny.
It was a regular day in the Wayne manor, and all the Batboys are home. They are in a room with the wayne family portrait before one of them notices something off with the painting. Even, Bruce can't figure out whose the person with his parents. It's only when Alfred sees the painting that he swears.
Info:
- Danny is the first born Wayne. He was born weak and sickly and lasted until he was nine, where he dies (by most likely the court of Owls).
- Danny knows his parents mean well, but he knows that their trying for another child since he's not fairing too well. He gives them his blessing for his future sibling.
- Alfred actually finds Danny when he dies, a vows to protect the future wayne heir. When Alfred looks at Bruce he sometimes sees Danny when he was healthy.
- Danny somehow speedruns the rebirth process that despite being born a Fenton, he still a wayne. He still becomes Phantom and goes, "A la tour de become Batman, but Ghost Zone edition"
- Danny is a diplomat for the GZ, not a king. He demolishes the system and rebuilds a new system where they can self govern. (The crown, the key, and the ring are kept with Clockwork and housed in a several-DNA locked container.
- Hears about the rankness of actual Gotham and its ghosts, so decides to go to Gotham to help Gotham spirit.
- Danny is actual there to deal with Gotham ghost, due to conflicting influences (bats, owls, rogues) leaves Gotham very weak and corruptible. (Spoilers, Danny has force Gotham into her core to heal herself, but stuff happens... Danny has to kill Gotham as the court of owls and the rogue are too influential on Gotham.)
- Danny actually shows up at a gala as cannonically aged Daniel Wayne.
- Danny works as a freelance mechanic or freelance mortician in Gotham.
- The Bats assume the Court is behind Danny's resurrection but, Danny eyes burn green so maybe the LoA is involved.
*Edit*: Danny, in order to heal Gotham, has to house her core as the ecto in city would take too long, and who knows what happened into those pits with Ra's involved (or Danny ferries Lady Gotham to the ghost zone to heal and he takes her place). Danny, for the time being, becomes the city spirit taking on the shadowed tar-like appearance with bits of owl and bat features with curses included and gains a lot of knowledge about his city and its people. This is a lot for Danny as he is essentially a supercharged ghost hybrid. The supernatural in Gotham are worried as Danny has the ability to essentially remove them and their curses on Gotham, but at the same time, because he houses Lady Gotham, people have the chance fight him for more power. The bats don't want to trust Danny and especially after he stakes their city spirit (they think he'll report the Bad guys, but cities are self-governing...)
[ I don't know if I want Danny to meet the Waynes again in the GZ before or after meeting Bruce, and Danny does meet Ra's at some point before meeting Bruce and co.]

BOUND TOGETHER
Stained Glass depicts a family tree with the father's side being broken and Lorelai's portrait weeping, a depiction of Lorelai's past as she had accidently killed her father.
The Skull has fangs, the nature of vampirism being tied to undeath, the Black Roses surrounding reinforce the theme of decay, death and dishonour. The Blood dripping from behind it is the price she paid by spilling her father's blood for her vampirism.
Blythe is depicted Dancing - a call back to her nature as performing to make herself liked and play a character to hide her true self.
Pomegranates, an allusion to the Greek myth about how Hades tricked Persephone to be chained to the underworld using pomegranate seeds, Theta tricked Blythe to become a hexblood to chain her to herself
Butterflies and empty cocoons are found in the Daffodils, both are symbols of rebirth, new beginnings and metamorphosis, tying back to Blythe's journey from Elf to Hexblood, and the eventual possibility of being a hag.
The Tied Magpie in the Mirror is reflection of Blythe's true self, a bird being captive by Theta, Magpies are considered an omen of bad luck, believed to have a drop of devil's blood underneath their tongue
Broken Elven statue is Raha's ties to his cultural identity are broken and decayed. The Creeping Vines symbolize the lack of upkeep to preserve this past. The flowers surrounding it are the Spring Snowflakes, known to bloom at the end of winter/beginning of spring - a new beginning to life and hope.
The Empty nest is representative of him having lost his family, and leaving behind the Elven commune he stayed with afterwards. Having left, and no one in his family being alive, all that's left is an empty nest.
A Borzoi is running from the statue, symbolizing Raha running from his past and wishing to distance himself from what hurt him. Dogs are often tied to symbols of loyalty, love, and protection, all things that are true to Raha's character as an individual.
A Red Ribbon surrounds them, the red string usually symbolizes the old myth of the red string of fate, binding people together.

The day people realise that Niigo symbolises life and rebirth and Wxs symbolises death and farewells is the day I can die in peace. No I will not elaborate further.
...
Actually yes, I will elaborate further. Much further.
If you take a closer look, all of the units represent rebirth, even if their portrait of it varies: Leoneed broke apart but came back together because whatever sets them apart isn't as crucial as what brings the together, More more jump almost gave up on their dreams but came back and came back stronger with newfound passion and Vivid Bad Squad are literally the ashes left behind by the dying phoenix that was Rad Weekend. They're bringing new fire to good old Vivid Street. If that's not life and rebirth I don't know what is.
And Niigo... Gosh. Niigo is about love. Niigo is about care, about healing, about despair and rage and joy but most of all it's all about love. Mizuki and their journey towards self-love and trust, Ena's fight and frustration to recover her love for art, Mafuyu's path through self-discovery, freedom and the cage of conditional love that keeps her locked away from it, and it all spins around a lone composer who carries around the rags of past love and comfort just as closely as her neverending guilt.
Just... Look at what they were during the main story and look at them now. They've grown so much stronger and so much healthier and it's all thanks to love.
It's also important to point out that none of these alliances have a reason to end. Niigo will keep composing for a brighter future even after 25:00 disappears from the clock, Vivid Bad Squad are on their way to not only surpass the ultimate legend but also expand outside of that (and potentially take over the world), More More Jump are doing better than ever even after they switched to the credit based course and Leoneed has a whole promise about never disbanding again!
It's devastating to know that Wonderlands X Showtime... Don't have that.
The disbandment arc has been teased for years and it will continue to be part of their story whether we like it or not. They have different objectives and different paths to cross. In other units characters fight to hold onto one another time and time again because of their love, but wxs love each other enough as to let each other go in order to secure a better end for everyone.
Wxs' themes and happiness and dreams, and obviously neither of those can last forever, but you can hold them close and relish in them while they're here. Isn't that what life is all about?
The thing is, feelings and people are ever changing, perhaps that’s what makes them so beautiful. And never and forever are a long time. But they don't exist. Not for you, not for me, not even for the sun and the stars. One day the music will stop and we'll know it's time for the curtain call to fall one last time. And then we'll begin again

Self portrait, day one, 2023. Sometimes having a birthday at the autumn equinox is strange. Feels like a birth-death. Feels like a mistake, like a weird line break. This year is one where it feels like an ouroboros – what a year of rebirth. So much love, debris, getting married, falling in love with strangers, places, making a family from the pieces. And so much loss and grief and heartbreak. And a lot of questions and not knowing and walking not looking back. Hoping the year ahead brings more adventure but also a soft edge to lean on.

Phaela
Fourth in my portrait series is my own girl, Phaela Murphy, tiefling soup twilight cleric and circle of stars druid. DM is @bacoj8.
Flowers
Huckleberry (Vaccinium parvifolium) : simple leisure, faith. Phaela's patron god, Thelona, is the god of simple pleasures.
Cineraria: always delighted
Queen Anne’s lace/Wild carrot (Daucus carota): sanctuary, home
Celery (Apium graveolens): Feasting, festivity
Stephanotis: desire to travel, friendship. Phaela and her best friend Izen live together in her truck, traveling from town to town in search of work and sights to see.
Bloodroot/Sweet slumber (Sanguinaria canadensis): protective love
Purple hyacinth (Hyacinthus): Benevolence, rashness, impulsivity, play, grief, please forgive me. Phaela's virtue name is Temerity, which suits her well-meaning but somewhat impulsive need to help others. She is playful and kind, but carries a deep grief as well.
Bluebonnet (Lupinus subcarnosus): self sacrifice, survival
Meadow cress (Cardamine pratensis): ardor, devotion, enthusiasm. According to folk belief, this flower brings bad luck if brought into the home. It is not included in May Day wreaths and garlands because some believed that wearing it would offend the fae, who would drag you underground into another world. Phaela was separated from her home forever when, in order to ditch a deal with a hag, she trapped herself in the Shadowfell.
Night Convolvulus (Convolvulus): night, repose, rebirth, affection, embrace
Sunflower (Helianthus): warmth, nourishment, devotion. This flower is redundant, I just wanted it as a treat. Yellow :)
Forget me not (Myosotis): Clinging to the past, do not forget me, faithful love, memories. Ough.
Check out the rest of the Pringles Party!
Theseus | Izen | Yancy | “Red”

What mental illness does Philip have?
I’m just going to briefly list what I’ve noticed and what others have noticed for him. I am not trying to demonize or harmfully depict any of what I list, and I have several of the disorders that I’m listing while another suggestion was made by someone diagnosed with that disorder. Some of these aren’t actual disorders but are instead symptoms or behaviors I’ve noticed in him.
Having said that, I’ve noticed traits for the following:
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (Related to the Grimwalker cycle of death and rebirth)
*Unspecified Schizophrenic Spectrum Disorder (hallucinations and “delusion” associated with the BI inhabitants)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Incredibly obvious)
Possible Trauma-Induced Memory Issues (Portraits in Hollow Mind)
Substance Dependence/Addiction (palismen)
Unspecified Anxiety Disorder (Dread and anticipation leading up to the expected betrayal of Grimwalkers, the creation and use of multiple back-up plans)
Major Depressive Disorder Symptoms (Lack of care for his own degrading state, inability to care about other things)
Lack of Regard for Safety and Health (Continued use of palismen, putting himself in dangerous situations [Eclipse Lake, Stonesleeper incident, betraying the Collector], continued use of curse despite negative side effects)
Lack of Care for Life/Possible Suicide Ideation (“I just need to live long enough to see this through,” indicates a lack of regard for his own life and a lack of plans after something that takes significant effort; when I was at my worst, I had this feeling of, “I’ll do this one last thing, and then I’m done” that he seems to mimic, and he doesn’t even notice or care that his body is decaying in WAD)
Self-Harm Issues (Cut his ears and carved glyphs into his arms, continued to absorb palismen and transform when it negatively affected his health)
*This is the diagnosis suggested by @streya-nova. I’ve read it, and they make a ton of great points. Additionally, one of my aunts has paranoid schizophrenia, and I’ve recognized some overlapping symptoms. Their discussion of this is in the link below.
I hope this all made sense for you!

I've seen the collaboration with Milgram drinks and considering that they are specially personalised for each character I decided to find some symbolism in the drink's contents.
Because my last posts had been with Muu, I decided to begin with her. ~🐝
(mentions of suicide, murder! )
Tumblr media
Translation: (It was done with some apps so I'm not very sure how good is this translation, but let's hope for the best!)
~Yuzumitsu syrup~🥤(I think it should've been yuzu and honey?)
~Lemon~🍋
~Whipped cream~🍨(the second one looks a little bit like in the photo)
~Honey~🍯
Now let's start!
~Yuzu fruit~
Tumblr media
"Yuzu is a citrus fruit that is native to East Asia, specifically China and Japan. It is a cross between a mandarin orange and a pomelo, and is known for its unique flavor and aroma. The fruit is typically small and round, with a thin, bumpy skin that is bright yellow when ripe."
-> "Yuzu has been an important part of East Asian culture for many centuries. In Japan, the fruit has been associated with the aristocracy and the imperial court, and was often presented as a gift to the emperor."
To sum it up, Yuzu is a symbol of wealth and luxury.
This easily links to Muu as she admits that she comes from a rich family and she is often provided with everything she needs in the interrogation questions, but also in voice dramas. Even her second MV in where she is portraited as the queen bee is a good example of her higher status. Funnily enough, to fit the bee theme she is given honey in shape of larvae, which has another similarity with the description below where the emperors received Yuzu as a gift.
->"In Chinese art, yuzu has been depicted in traditional Chinese paintings, particularly those related to nature. Yuzu is depicted as a symbol of longevity and auspiciousness(promising success) ."
Again, because of Muu's higher status, she was meant to have a very successful life, if her murder never happened. She admits having received many model scouting offers due to her natural beauty and her mother's career. Also, a lot of money means that she can pay for her medical needs so, if not for some accidents or some sort, she would probably have lived a long life.
->"People heralded yuzu as a powerful fruit for more than its medicinal properties and its ability to leave your skin silky smooth after a soak. It was also regarded as auspicious due to its bright, sunny color and strong, fresh fragrance. Many believed soaking in a yuzu bath on the Winter Solstice invited health and fortune for the new year. Some even believed the powerful aroma could ward off bad luck and exorcise evil spirits!"
Okay, here a many things that I want to cover up, so I'll make it short.
Medical properties and smooth silky skin can again link to Muu being very healthy and very beautiful. But what I want to point out is the yuzu bath, which is said to ward off bad luck and exorcise evil spirits. Muu often says in her first VD that Rei was a bad person and was the actual cause of her misfortune. This fruit could be a metaphor of her crime, because Muu by murdering Rei (in her pov)she got rid of the source of her bad luck and suffering.
Even the Winter Solstice itself points this out. By the standard definition winter Solstice is marked as "the symbol of death and rebirth of the Sun". Muu is often portraited in yellow colours, so by thinking of her as the sun we can interpret this way: Muu's old bullied self died as soon as she killed Rei and was rebirthed as a more confident person freed of pain.
If Muu were a fruit, I would say that Yuzu will definitely be a perfect choice, so no wonder Milgram chose this fruit for her drink.
~Lemon~
Tumblr media
->"The lemon has come to symbolize many — sometimes opposing — ideas, depending on the cultural reference point. Sometimes it is considered a symbol of longevity, purification, love, and friendship, and other times it is seen to be symbolic of bitterness and disappointment. Catholic tradition linked the fruit to fidelity. Because it was imported at great expense to some countries it became a symbol of wealth."
I will not explain again the longevity, purification and wealth part as it will be just me repeating myself. Instead, I will talk about friendship which is an important theme to Muu's character.
I will begin with Muu's views about it, because I think it will be a better introduction.
"Friends aren't like that you know. Rather than using each other for something, we just get along because we're comfortable around each other. That's all."
Muu thinks that friendship means to be yourself without the fear of being judged. To talk happy about silly topics, to express yourself in a comfortable atmosphere, to get along with people that understand you. At the surface, Muu's idea of friendship it's the standard definition. However, if we dig just a little bit, we easily see that Muu doesn't truly respect her ideals or rather she is using this definition to the extreme. When confronted by Es about Haruka's intention to keep her safe, Muu admits that she already knows about it. She is happy, because Haruka wants to protect her from a possible guilty verdict. After that, she explains that she will not stop him from killing himself if that's what he wishes, because according to her "Isn't friendship about letting your friends do the things they want?". Again, just by definition, it is a correct affirmation. Friendship means to help your peers achieving what they want and supporting them on their journey. But Muu takes this definition to the extreme. Friendship doesn't always imply that you should let the person you care about to do whatever they want. This is just negligence. Sometimes they need a reality check or words to convince them that what they want to do at the moment it's not the best choice and should find another solution or simply to abandon that idea.
Muu then ends her friendship talk with an interesting sentence. "Then what is friendship? You're together because it's beneficial for everyone involved, aren't you?"
By theory, what she says is true. Friendship is needed in humans life, because we can't properly live without other persons to interact with. Even if we talk about a connection that it was made simply because you share a class with and you don't want to be lonely or a relationship that actually lasts for a lifetime, they are important for our development.
In Muu's case both her and Haruka are benefiting from their friendship, not only as a way to pass time and keep sane in a magical prison, but also for their own desires. For example, Muu thinks that the most important thing that a friend should do is to listen to what she has to say, something that Haruka is actively seen doing.
(from the interrogation questions)
What's a friend in your opinion?
"People who listen carefully to what Muu has to say."
So Muu seeks people that listen to her and with whom she's comfortable in a friendship. In the second MV the scene where the "bees" are around her could be a metaphor for her wanting to be listened(after all, what a queen says never gets unnoticed), but also in this specific scene she looks the most comfortable around her friend group.
Tumblr media
Okay, but what her friends are benefiting from this relationship? Considering how easily they betrayed her trust means that it was never a very deep connection to begin with. That's because what they gained were objects, expensive things. Muu's love language and appreciation is giving things to others. Being rich means that she can afford many items so for her it's not a big struggle. In after pain the text from her phone suggests that she gave her lipstick to one of her friends.
Tumblr media
Also, to who she gave something to as a sign of friendship? To Haruka! The hairpin.
Her friendship at school was most likely superficial, based more on materialism, and was never a deep connection like Muu wanted. Despite that her views of friendship seem like the standard definition, because they were taken to the extreme, she didn't realized until too late that her friends were superficial and didn't care much about her.
And even after all this she still wants to see her friends again, meaning that Muu still cares somewhat about them.
"At the moment is there anyone you want to meet?"
"I want to meet my friends, but in the first place there's daddy and mom I think~"
At the same time though, she is disappointed with how everything turned out to play and how easy her friends started to bully her.
"Do you regret it?"
"Mhm, I should've chosen my friends better."
What did lemons symbolise again? Disappointment, bitterness and fidelity. What Muu feels now about her past friendship and the loyalty that she never had truly gotten, but wants to.
Lemon is a fruit that represents very well Muu's desires and it's sad that such a simple wish (friendship) was too hard to be granted.
~Whipped cream~🍨
I will not talk much about this, since there is not much to say.
Whipped cream is used a lot in desserts, sugary things. Usually, it symbolises a carefree attitude and a joyous mood. This could make a reference to Muu's actual state of mind in Milgram, her being one of the only prisoner who is still fine, both mentally and physically.
~Honey~🍯
Tumblr media
"Honey symbolises positive things, such as abundance, wisdom, and even the word of God."
I think it is no wonder that honey is an important part in Muu's character considering the second MV.
Her second MV adds information about Muu's murder and uncovers us the revelation that she was once part of the bullying group. So based on the symbolism, we can say that honey represents truth.
But what does honey represents in her MV? Muu associates it with devotion in the lyrics, which makes sense considering the visuals. The first bee scene that we have is Muu being surrounded by other classmates. Almost all of them have a plate with honey waiting for her to delight with the food. Just one of the bees has an empty plate that doesn't get unnoticed by Muu, who with just a slight push, breaks her into pieces.
Tumblr media
And not just the visuals and the lyrics are showing that honey means devotion and loyalty.
"She will stop from time to time in the hive, to be groomed and fed by the worker bees called her 'attendants.' They form a circle around her, and will also spread her pheromone through the hive. This queen pheromone tells the bees that she is alive and well."
Tumblr media
The scenes from the MV are mimicking the bees in real life. Her friends, the worker bees, by giving her honey, are showing how much they value their friendship. So it's only naturally that the girl who doesn't give her honey (in Muu's point of view) it's like she's wishing for her downfall.
Tumblr media
Another thing... (feel free to ignore, because it's just me being annoyed at the bullies) Honey symbolises sweetness in life. I can't shake the feeling that by giving Muu this sweet honey, they are flattering her so they can receive more expensive things. Even the text on the phone seems like the friends are complimenting her too much?
Anyway, back to the analysis!
Also I want to point out the shape of the honey, which are bee larvae. Normally, the queen bee is the one that makes them to assure that the colony is prosperous. Instead, Muu eats them, indicating how her friends circle is slowly diminishing and, in the world of bees, the colony is slowly wiped out.
It doesn't help that Muu's actively destroying the colony by breaking the worker bees into pieces. If Muu and her friend group believe that the respective classmate is treating them badly or "betraying from jealousy", they are cutting ties with that person removing them from the friend circle and target them as the new victim of bullying. A good example is the short haired girl from the thumbnail, which resembles a lot the first bee with the empty plate.
Tumblr media
Basically, Muu believes that if a classmate is treating her badly she is being bullied by them, so her deciding to bully them back is a sign of revenge. Her voice drama also implies this assumption.
"You see, if you think that me bullying someone back after being bullied is the natural course of events, then wouldn't it be bad to bully me back again in return?"
To sum it up:
classmate (doesn't value the friendship/does something that Muu and the friend group dislikes) is a bully in their Pov -> they bully back as an act of revenge
Rei is interfering(wants to stop the bullying)-> Muu is the new victim of bullying and is betrayed by her closest friends
Muu thinks the only way to escape is by killing herself -> ends up killing Rei (revenge)
Muu implies that by giving her a guilty verdict we basically are telling her that it was wrong for her to seek revenge. However, it also means that Rei was wrong to instigate the bullying, again, as an act of revenge.
"But if you were like, "I won't forgive you, Muu! Revenge is bad!," then wouldn't that imply that it's also bad for me to bully someone back after they bullied me? Since we've all done something bad anyway, doesn't that mean that I've not done anything wrong in the end?"
And she ends her argument with the fact that she and her victim are even, meaning that she didn't do anything wrong.
Now that we have the bullying part cleared up, let's end this with the last scene from the MV were honey appears.
Throughout the MV, we see that the queen cell above Muu is glowing when she is eating honey. That is the place were all the honey is deposited and is spilled out when the fully developed Muu with wings escapes.
In the first MV the hourglass was used to represent how much Muu could endure the pain until she would've suffocated(literally). That queen cell could symbolise the same thing. When Muu escapes, the honey that was once a sign of friendship and loyalty was now suffocating her due to the fakeness and the betrayal of her friends. She is no longer looking at the spilled honey, and is happy that she can finally break free since there is nothing left in the broken hourglass(not even her three closest friends).
Honey is a good representation of trust and devotion. It showed the truth of the situation, how too much sweetness in one's life could cause someone to "suffocate" in the lies hidden in it (in this case, the false friendship that Muu believed she had).
Thank you for reading! ~🐝

Hidden Gems by @writcraft
September is indeed a blessed month as some of my favourite fandom folks celebrate their birthdays (and I resent that!! 😂). I completely missed Writcraft’s a few days ago so this is a humble if belated little gift to celebrate them. As I put this together I realized I’ve never made a proper reclist for them, despite having read almost everything from their catalogue at this point. The heresy! So I thought maybe this could be some sort of love letter too, to show how much I appreciate their contributions to the fandom over the years.
I’ve been reading Writ’s fics - both Drarry and rare pairs, hello Harry/Teddy and Snarry my beloved! - since 2012. Not even in my wildest dreams I imagined I’d ever get to interact, let alone be friends with the mind behind one of my all-time favorite reads, the iconic Little Compton Street. This story means so much to me it’s impossible to think of it without getting choked up in my emotions.
For the first time I found myself eager to learn more about queer history through fic, because of the touching and sensitive approach to the theme, which got me as invested in it as I was in the Drarry romance. LCS was also the first fic that made me wish I could see a first kiss scene on the big screen (with Bowie’s Life on Mars in the background of course!); it’s the first fic that made me consider James/Sirius as a romantic ship, the first fic that took me by the hand and guided me into London’s vibrant and seductive landscape and nightlife, not to mention the places of historical significance for the queer community. I have recently reread the equally fabulous How We Were Warriors - a must read for any Snarry fan! - and was hit by the same magical feeling of “wow, I’m so privileged to be able to dive deep into ️‍🌈 history while falling in love with NYC”. And it happened organically, in a way that made me feel nostalgic for a place I’ve only been to once in my life. The power that Writ’s storytelling holds!
But as much as I’d love to, I’m not here to talk about LCS or HWWW, but to shine light on a few of my favorite hidden gems by this talented writer, who’s just as brilliant exploring a range of rare pairs dynamics, especially the intricacies of angsty romance between characters with a complicated past. Writ explores these nuances with so much care and sensitivity. Their writing offers a generous but realistic portrait of adult themes like coming out, loneliness, internalized homophobia and mental health. All fascinating yet difficult subjects to navigate. But every fic of theirs transpires heart and research, carefully crafted to guide us through a singular, poignant emotional ride full of catharsis, self-awareness and hope. I consider many of these essential to my fandom “coming of age” so to speak, as I became an adult reader who gravitates towards adult stories about adult characters put in adult situations. Writcraft offers unique perspectives by combining seriousness, grief and sorrow with a spark of youth, wonder and tenderness.
Without further ado, here are some short-ish treats for your weekly reading list. Drarry and rare pairs (especially Snarry and femslash), let’s rejoice! I’m sure you’ll find something for your tastes in here. Lastly, nobody asked but the banner inspo comes from a moodboard I did a while ago, featuring a butterfly. When I googled its meaning, here’s what came up: Butterflies are beautiful and have mystery, symbolism, and meaning and are a metaphor representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life. The magnificent, yet short life of the butterfly closely mirrors the process of spiritual transformation and serves to remind us that life is short. Not sure how much of that is true but I found it very poetic and fitting!
Writ, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for the fandom throughout the years - for being such an inspiration for both authors and readers, for providing the BEST clubbing fics and being a rare pair enthusiast, and finally, for being a strong voice for queer representation and legacy of resistance and hope. Every time we talk I am in awe of how open and generous you are, always willing to share knowledge and experiences about these themes. I’m so happy to be getting to know you, and I hope you’ve had a lovely birthday last week! 💜
Drarry:
Dapper (2016, E, 4k) - delicious PWP with a perfect balance between smooth development, playful banter and hot hot hot smut! Love their voices here.
Draco starts wearing Muggle suits and Harry’s definitely losing his mind.
Dancing on His Own (2016, E, 6k) - I feel the urge to rec every single clubbing fic Writ has ever written, it’s such a strong trademark and I love their sexy, freeing and entrancing atmosphere. Get ready to fall in love with London nights as our boys inevitably falling together.
Under the decadent lights of London’s gay bars, Draco and Harry find one another again after years of searching.
Merlin’s Kitchen (2021, E, 12k) - another fantastic and engaging clubbing fic with Writ’s brand of sensual atmosphere, rich and adult and so incredibly compelling. I would stay in this universe forever learning more about this charming and fascinating Harry through Draco’s eyes. Kudos for that ending full of promise!
Merlin’s Kitchen is a shit nightclub but having sex with Harry Potter might improve things.
Dirty Little Secret (2013, E, 22k) - a wonderful and refreshing take on BDSM, it’s such a treat to watch Harry and Draco navigate and discover their kinky side, eager and clumsy and relying to much on the hate/love dynamics that we love. They sound so very young and deliciously flawed here, and I adore how this fic gives them room to grow and brings them back together at the end.
When someone threatens Harry’s life, Kingsley decides to send him to a safe house with only Draco Malfoy for company. As the two men are forced together, memories of the past resurface and secrets are discovered.
Collapse Amongst the Dying Stars (2013, M, 26k) - I’ve only read this fic once and it was enough to leave a lasting impression. There’s something to be said about an author who makes you read tropes you usually avoid (mind the tags!) but I was so deeply immersed and invested I didn’t even care. This devastating yet perfectly executed time travel journey will break your heart with this fascinating Draco development and this beautiful, loving Harry. It’s about the catharsis 😔🤌🏼
After the final battle nothing is quite as Harry expected. Death Eaters remain unaccounted for, Malfoy is in prison and there is something rotten in Azkaban. Banned from assisting the Aurors, Harry keeps himself busy with regular visits to Malfoy and works to bring light to the darkness of 12 Grimmauld Place. Cw: implied rape, character death, unhappy ending.
Rare pairs:
Stone Butch Blues (2018, T, 1k) - if you haven’t read the LCS instalment focused on Will/Minerva (which you absolutely should RIGHT NOW) maybe start here with this brilliant short. An incredible take on gender fluid Will and superb dialogue that left me hooked and so curious to learn more about these two. So much character within 1k, my god, what an impressive short!
Will reminisces with Minerva.
Where Thestrals Fly (2014, T, 3k) - beautiful Snarry short, I love the premise and the unique narrative style, it’s wonderful to see their backstory and attraction slowly unravel with the Thestrals ritual and the post-war scenario as background. Soft, sensual, contemplative. Yum!
Every Beltane, Severus and Harry undertake the ritual of moving Thestrals between the Bel fires. As they grow closer the light in their future steadily overpowers the darkness of their past.
Storm Chasers (2020, E, 4.5k) - I’m so fond of my first Ginny/Tonks fic - this is a lovely, poetic and thrilling get together with compelling characters and organic chemistry. I love the intimate writing, the sexual exploration, the A+ character development. Non-binary Tonks is a joy to read!
It starts, as these things often do, with hummus.
Tonight Let's Get Some (2019, E, 4.5k) - oof I’m so thirsty for this scorching Harry/Charlie, you can taste the sexual tension in your bones and their dynamics are quite organic and casual. Great characterization, sexy clubbing aesthetics + voyeurism/public sex as a special treat, my favorite! A must read for any Charlie slut like me 😌
Harry discovers private karaoke rooms are great for blow jobs, gets a crash course in Muggle music and hopes that One Direction songs are the way to Charlie Weasley’s cock heart.
True Colors (2017, E, 6k) - one of the sweetest Harry/Teddy I’ve ever read, this fic holds a special place in my heart. It is so moving and full of gentleness and hope. I love the tentative dynamics and how they slowly but surely come together after dancing around each other. The way Teddy yearns for Harry is so tender it hits right in the feels and leaves me swooning for their love.
Teddy spent the last year running away from his feelings for Harry. Now it’s time to come home.
No Comparison (2020, E, 7k) - imo the ultimate comfort Snarry, very different from the usual angsty take we see out there. This is both hilarious and sweet with a charming take on the characters, delightful flirting banter and a satisfying get together. I love the refreshing “omg they’re officemates” scenario, plus their chemistry is 👩‍🍳💋
Sharing an office with Severus is driving Harry mad. When he discovers Severus isn’t quite as straight as he first believed, Harry decides there’s only one way to resolve their constant bickering.
Holding Out for A Hero (2015, E, 7.5k) - one of my all-time favourite Harry/Teddy fic, this is a sinfully hot and romantic get together + first time, my favourite combo for this ship. So much tender domesticity and soft mutual pining, plus breathtaking smut and a beautiful, sweet Teddy melting both Harry’s resistance and our hearts. I’ve read this one more times than I can count, delicious!
Even as he says no, Harry’s hands push into Teddy’s hair. Even as he protests, his lips connect with Teddy’s. Before Teddy can offer any reassurance his heart’s thumping wildly in his chest and Harry Potter’s kissing him as if there’s no tomorrow.
The Way We Were (2021, E, 15k) - after LCS this was the fic that made my heart beat faster for Prongsfoot! A poignant “coming of age” story with friends to lovers, queer awakening and LGBT themes in the 70s, only Writ delivers this wistful mix of excitement and devastation. This is complex and nuanced with James and Sirius navigating the complicated feelings of their changing relationship, all with the impending war looming in the background.
At nineteen, James Potter is missing Hogwarts, nursing a broken heart and worrying about his ailing parents. James needs his friends more than ever, but Remus is behaving strangely, Peter is too busy with his new job and Sirius has a secret more terrifying than the whispers of a looming war.

Born in Brussels in 1904, Suzanne Fabry was the daughter of the Belgian symbolist painter Émile Fabry (1865–1966) and his wife Virginie Duchênes. Her brother, Barthélémy, was born in 1898. Three years before Suzanne’s birth, her father was named Professor of Drawing at the l’Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, where he had been a student in the 1880s, and her childhood was spent in his house-studio at rue Verte (today rue du Collège Saint-Michel, n°6) in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, a south-eastern neighborhood of Brussels.
At the start of World War I, Suzanne moved with her family to England where they remained until the end of the war, first in Herefordshire and later in the Cornish town of Saint-Ives. They returned to their home in Belgium after the war and in 1923 Suzanne enrolled as a student at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts where she studied under Jean Delville (1867-1953) and Constant Montald (1862-1944), two of the founders, alongside her father, of a group of artists who called themselves “L'art monumental.” The group’s aim was to produce public, monumental, and culturally sophisticated art that would elevate the public consciousness through the representation of idealized universal themes. Their commanding nudes would constitute an important source of inspiration for Suzanne’s own work.
Suzanne graduated from the Académie in 1928 and embarked on her career as a painter in the 1930s, taking part in the triennial Salon in Antwerp (1930) and the quadrennial Salon in Liège (1931). Around the same time, her father was completing a cycle of large-scale paintings for the entrance and staircase of Brussels’ opera house, La Monnaie, where, many years later, Suzanne and her husband Edmond Delescluze (1905-1993) would be employed as costume and set designer respectively, a collaboration that began in 1948 and is recorded in over 900 sketches and stage maquettes preserved today in the archives of La Monnaie. She continued to pursue her career as a painter, alongside her work as head of the opera’s costume workshop, until her death in 1985.
In this monumental multi-figure composition, painted in 1943, Fabry adapted the solidity, scale, and style favored by the Symbolist painters of her father’s generation to a defiantly modern feminine subject. Fabry perfected her own brand of pointillism, establishing the pale blue background in broad loosely layered brushstrokes against which the four figures are sharply defined in saturated ochre tones. The palette and composition–statuesque theatrically posed figures arranged across a picture plane–ehcoing her father’s work, notably Maternity (1923) and Towards the Unknown, for which Suzanne posed and was photographed as aide memoires (see Jacqueline Guisset, Emile Fabry, 2000).
These photographs, and the studio practice they elucidate, suggest the context in which Suzanne developed her own working methods and artistic style. Suzanne’s four figures are arguably full-length self-portraits–with idealized features resembling the artist’s own, looking to her self-portrait with paintbrush in hand (1932) –making the composition a triumphant declaration of her artistic identity as both creator and muse.
The central figure’s pose recalls Botticelli’s iconic Birth of Venus, recasting the Renaissance goddess in a personal and fiercely modern mode. Rather than covering herself, Fabry’s figure reaches up to her auburn hair, staring straight at the viewer and seemingly strides forward, trading Botticelli’s stationary feigned modesty for confidence in motion. Impastoed splashes of water at her feet evoke Venus’s outsized shell in a more realistic and yet abstract reference perhaps to her own rebirth as an artist.
Fabry returned to the female nude the following year in a large-scale single-figure representation of a woman–perhaps herself–called L’Attente (1944), exhibited at the Salon de printemps that year. Holding an amphora above her head with two hands against a distant background of ancient ruins, the figure stands tall, matching the height of the doric column behind her, as a pillar of strength and fortitude, peering fearlessly ahead, her weight shifted to the front of her toes as if to leap forward.
Female Nudes by the Sea is an important rediscovery within the oeuvre of Suzanne Fabry, and the 20th-century Symbolist movement. In this multi-figure self-portrait, Fabry audaciously contends with her artistic heritage and asserts her own distinctive identity and aesthetic.

I love how you portrait Shadow as sweet and caring for Amy in your headcanons ❤️ I would like to know if it's because he mellowed over the years and became more comfortable showing his affection to those close to him or it started with his crush on Amy and decided to be nicer to get close to her
Thank you! <3
To be honest? It’s neither, at least if you ask me. He’s simply always treated her that way in their few canon interactions. This is the man who was dead-set on destroying the entire world in SA2. His crimes included theft, blowing up an island, bearing a fixation on violent revenge, and assault. The assault was arguably self-defense at first, but by the end, he’s like this:
Tumblr media
Amidst all this, how does he treat Amy? He accepts a hug from her with nothing but a smile, even though she snuck up on him. I’ve seen Shadow portrayed as prickly a million times in fanfics, as if he simply loathes hugs, but where was that when Amy hugged him? He was never like that...with her. He saved the world...because of her. She’s the only one who truly got through to him. Not even Rouge could do it. In contrast to how he treats others, he says this about Amy:
Tumblr media
Keep in mind that SA2 Shadow doesn’t call people by their names. Eggman is “Doctor,” Sonic is “that blue hedgehog/faker,” and Rouge is just “bat girl.” Yet he holds onto--and later uses--the name he’s heard only once in passing, just for Amy.
Only someone as sweet and gentle as Amy could have done what she did. When you get right down to it, it makes perfect sense that he’d be kind to her. It’s even more powerful considering she was discarded and ignored by her so-called friends for the entire game. This supposedly vicious, “evil” character has a soft spot reserved only for her and Maria, his most treasured friend.
Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) cements this further. We can all name instances where he’s absolutely merciless in that game, can’t we? And yet, when he meets up with Amy, that harshness is gone. He has no unkind words for her. He discards his other responsibilities and happily helps her save her little rabbit friend and a Chao, even though he gains nothing from doing so. After he does, he warns her to be careful, a surprisingly gentle gesture considering how he is in that game. He later admits that he didn’t have to help her, and he can’t put his finger on exactly why he did, although I have a few ideas ;) She can completely turn him around from villain to hero with the ‘Miracle of Love’ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and ‘Black Hero’s Rebirth’ endings.
For real, though, I don’t think he has romantic feelings for her, at least not yet. He’s just always treated her gently like that, which only makes it more meaningful IMO. I don’t have to extrapolate or overanalyze because Sega’s already done it for me. He’s the only one who’s always, always taken her seriously and valued her input completely. Developing a crush on her would only intensify this. I don’t think it’s really hit her yet just how unusual this gentleness is, but maybe it will someday.
Even in the IDW comics, where many feel Shadow is at his most unlikable, Rouge points out that he’s unusually polite to Amy. She and Shadow have barely interacted in the past twenty years, but he’s either still kind to her by nature, or he remembers how important she is to him even after all these years. I adore both possibilities.
Of course, they may never interact again as a result. Sega seems intent on making him Always Angry with No Friends now. The way he’s always treated Amy would be at odds with what they’re trying to do. But who knows? With how the characters have been written starting with Frontiers, it’s possible that we’ll see Shadow’s softer side return and these two will properly reunite and have, like...a conversation, maybe? Maybe even a proper friendship, if we’re really lucky!!!
Well...I can dream, at least.

Last night I finally completed the foyer of Château Greystone, the royal estate. As back story, Parliament actually voted to establish a royal residence for Aymeric way back in SB, but debated where it should go for ages.
The House of Lords insisted it should be located within the Pillars for reasons of obvious self-interest, but Aymeric felt it would send the wrong message about why he restored the throne. As the self-professed People’s King, he insisted he should live among the commons.
The Firmament was the perfect solution, as a potent symbol of Ishgard’s rebirth and new, egalitarian, forward-looking future, spearheaded by Prince Stephanivien’s house. The royal family living there—the heroes who ended the war and made it possible—would make folk flock to it, thus contributing to its growth and allow it to flourish. So construction began when the area was complete. “Greystone” was chosen as its name by Gisele, not only to honor Prince Haurchefant, but as a powerful rebuke to the prejudices that irrevocably shaped his life and Aymeric’s.
Its actual location is in the heart of the Firmament, on the plateau overlooking Snowsoak; the FC Medium I got in Empyreum is a placeholder since I’ll never get the equivalent Large plot. But here’s a tour nonetheless.
Prince Haurchefant's portrait offers a friendly greeting immediately on the left, as a nod to him being the first to welcome Gisele to Coerthas.
His Majesty is ofc directly at the far end, surrounded by blue flowers. Aymeric is a botanist well versed in the Ishgardian language of flowers and all of the plants in the manor were selected by him to send subtle messages. The orange trees in the antechamber convey joy and mirth to put guests at ease, for example. The roses beneath the royal portraits all correspond to their signature colors.
Prince Estinien has dragons flanking him, ofc. Those statues were a gift from Hien.
Around the corner there's a small antechamber that serves as a reception area for guests to relax while they await an audience or are otherwise welcomed. A trick bookshelf hides the entrance leading to Prince Stephanivien's workshop. (Meta: the FC chamber door. I decided the FC workshop is canon, but it’s Stephanivien’s tinkering cave) Speaking of which: he went nuts designing fortifications and defensive mechanisms for the estate. If he activates a specific series of levers, the entire visible upper part of the manor can pull in on itself and submerge entirely underground, the whole estate sinking several levels deeper with it (bearing in mind Ishgardian manors are built down). Just like Figaro Castle.
Hades helped with designing some of the architectural details, which is why there’s a subtle Amaurotine vibe (all the pillars, mainly). Construction on the manor didnt start until after the Firmament was complete since that’s where it’s located, so he was back by then.
But there’s a lot of subtle nods to the entire elfpile throughout this area. There's a Fortemps chandelier, roses are Gisele's signature ofc but are also to honor House Haillenarte, as is the wall decor in Haillenarte Green. The halberds near the fireplace are for Estinien. The moogle fountain* for Ysayle. XD
*A note on the fountain: is silly ofc and Estinien's portrait faces it because Ysayle thinks it's hilarious. But it's also an easter egg for me. The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at Walt Disney World has a fountain w Mary Poppins penguins as you enter the foyer of the original DVC building, fancy & whimsical at the same time:

"My Grandparents, My Parents and Me": A Deep Dive into Frida Kahlo's Intimate Family Portrait
Frida Kahlo's art is an intimate window into her life, experiences, and emotions. Known for her soul-baring self-portraits, Kahlo infuses her paintings with symbols that reveal her inner world and personal narrative. One such work is "My Grandparents, My Parents and Me" (1936), a fascinating depiction of family ties, heritage, and identity.
"My Grandparents, My Parents and Me": A Brief Overview
The painting is a family tree of sorts, with a naked Kahlo holding a ribbon that links portraits of her parents and grandparents. At the bottom, a red ribbon flows from her navel and roots into the Mexican soil, suggesting her deep connection to her land and ancestry. This dream-like composition is a rich tapestry of symbolism that reflects Kahlo's reflections on her identity and lineage.
Tracing Roots: The Significance of Ancestry
In this painting, Kahlo presents her German-Jewish paternal grandparents and her Mexican maternal grandparents alongside her biracial parents. This visual representation of her diverse lineage underscores Kahlo's exploration of her dual heritage. The detailed depiction of each relative illustrates her attempt to understand her own identity through her roots.
The Symbolism of the Land
The positioning of a naked, childlike Frida on the rich Mexican soil signifies her deep bond with her homeland. This connection is further emphasized by the red ribbon – representative of the umbilical cord – that connects her to the land. Through this symbol, Kahlo emphasizes her belief in the sustaining and nourishing power of the earth, from which all life originates and returns.
The Role of Nudity
The choice to depict herself as naked and childlike is noteworthy. This portrayal could symbolize Kahlo's vulnerability and purity, as well as her rebirth and self-realization through the exploration of her roots. By exposing herself in such an intimate way, Kahlo conveys her willingness to bare her truth, to explore her origins, and to understand her identity.
Navigating Dual Identities
"My Grandparents, My Parents and Me" is a testament to Kahlo's navigation of her dual German-Mexican identity. By painting herself connected to both her European and Mexican ancestors, Kahlo acknowledges the influence of both cultures in her life. The painting is a powerful expression of her struggle and reconciliation with her dual heritage.
In conclusion, "My Grandparents, My Parents and Me" is a profound exploration of Frida Kahlo's personal narrative. It is a testament to her courage in delving into her family history, her origins, and the complexities of her identity. By opening up her life in such an intimate manner, Kahlo invites us to reflect on our own roots and the role they play in shaping our identities. Through her work, Kahlo teaches us that understanding our past can offer invaluable insights into our present selves and guide our future paths.
