wrestling fic writers!!
i have decided to be the change i wanna see, so lets do a nice little thing for each other, as a community full of incredible and talented writers. yes this is writer specific only, but thats cause thats where the main problem of people not interacting with creative works lies in this fandom as far as i can tell and have seen people talking about it especially in the last couple of months
if you read this, please add links to your written works. it can be just a single fic youre really proud of, your writing blog, your writing tag, your ao3 account, anything where your works can be found
and if you leave your link here, PLEASE check out someone else that has left their works, and interact with them. leave them a comment, even just a kudos, REBLOG their fic, etc. interacting is the keyword i want to emphasize here, along with building a sort of a masterpost of where to find people writing in this fandom
and if you are not a writer, youre still highly encouraged to interact with this post and share it and show love to the writers in this fandom, obviously!! i think that should go without saying, but adding it in anyways

nobody is too big or too small to add their things on this list. if you write and post anything in this fandom whatsoever, be it fics or drabbles or headcanons, any companies or any kind of ships or reader inserts or any content whatsoever no matter how 'dead dove dont eat' or hell even if its just meta, we welcome all here and nobody can say that one thing is less valid than another. just please tag your content accordingly, especially if theres content warnings, and feel free to mention what you write, who you write, any info you wish to leave that would help people before they click on your links. but even so, that should not and hopefully will not deter people from interacting, no matter what it is. someones trash is another ones treasure, i promise you
and unless the amount gets really overwhelming, im personally going to be checking out everyone that leaves something here. unless it squeaks me out, but even then, i'll spread the word. and i just wish as many people as possible will do the same, and not just use this as a potential board to only get eyes on their stuff. ofc thats also the point, but you should give as much, if not more, than you get. we need to be kind and supportive of one another (besides, from personal experience, if you show love to someone else, they are more likely to do it back than without you taking the first step, so... pay it forward)

and just in general.. leave people comments. leave them asks about their projects. just go over and gush about their work. i know it sounds embarrassing but writers love nothing more than to hear that someone likes what they are doing. if you find a fic that hasnt been updated in forever, comment on it. it might just be the spark the author needs to continue. while kudos and likes are nice, and just as valuable to some, its definitely in the words the people leave for them that matter the most. im not saying this to put pressure on anyone, its just how it is, and i feel like unless people are writers themselves, and even then sometimes, thats just hard to grasp, especially if the writer is a smaller and less popular one who doesnt get a lot of traffic in the first place
i think thats all. just be nice and considered to everyone, reblog peoples works, this post with others add ons and so forth. and if i find anyone talking shit here or at other writers for something they share, you'll be blocked and im probably taking your kneecaps. be fucking nice. we are all struggling here and we need to stick together

Choices Spread Kindness Celebration
Welcome to the third annual Choices Spread Kindness Celebration! This event begins on Social Media Kindness Day (November 9) and "ends" on World Kindness Day (November 13). I say "ends" because there's a bonus day to celebrate you on the 14th.

It can be generic, but I do encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the person's blog and see if you can give them a compliment specific to them that might be more meaningful.

WHY I LOVE IT
When Em first teased this fic, I damn near lost my mind. Nothing could have prepared me for how much I would love it, and reading it altered my brain chemistry. Em is a master at creating atmosphere, adding details and descriptions that paint a vivid picture. She sets up the characters, the dynamic, and the situation just enough to keep readers grounded in reality for when the fantasy takes over. Dilf!Bob is one sexy motherfucker, and if I had to tell you all the reasons I love him, we’d be here all day. Packed into this fic are all the tropes and kinks that melt my brain: praise, orgasm control, possessiveness, forbidden relationship, and an age gap. Another aspect that I enjoyed was the dirty talk. It’s not the most explicit I’ve ever read, but I think it speaks to Bob’s age in this fic. He’s older and more sophisticated, but he still has a mouth on him, and what a mouth it is. The true standout moments in this fic, however, is the communication. Sure, it’s absolutely filthy smut that made so hot and bothered I couldn’t think straight, but Bob and Reader communicate. There’s consent, and check-ins throughout to make sure consent is still enthusiastically given, along with talks of safe sex, including the use of protection and birth control. It doesn’t feel awkward or misplaced, but like a natural part of the story, as it always should be. Consent is sexy. Using protection is sexy. Interwoven with the smut are moments of reality, of normalcy that could take the reader out of the story, but never do because that’s how skillful of a writer Em is. This fic made me crave Dilf!Bob and made me yearn for him to buy me lingerie and do unholy things to me. It’s a fic I keep coming back to, and it gets better with every read.

Idk how you aren’t bored of that yet like I seriously was afraid I was beginning to get repetitive with it I mean there’s only so much two people can do and I mean. It felt repetitive constantly writing it.
I’m known as a smut writer. I know that. And I still am ( Lord you don’t wanna see the filth that is my notes app. The stuff I write in there? God damn 💀) but smut doesn’t always have to be you getting body slammed! It can be soft. It can not be in a fic at all.
I’m also v much enjoying exploring Tess a little more and I know you guys probably don’t give af about that but I do. I think a lot of you forget fanfic writers are still writers. I wanna write stuff that makes people feel things and think. I wanna take this lil fictional gal and go routing around inside her head and pad out her thought’s and build her character.
And I know some of you ( I’m honestly leaning towards it being the Twitter lot that come over here for word porn and then don’t even know how to hit reblog and support their writers) don’t care for that. You want you smut and that’s it. And I have plenty of that on my blog. And I will have more of that honestly I will I have so many requests I’m working on ( Sub Tess anyone? Enemies to lovers anyone?👀)
Just let me explore my characters a little please. Let me write these slightly longer things and and invoke feelings other than ‘ I’m horny’. Let me spread my wings and see what I can do.

Firstly, I just want to express how much I admire your writing/stories. I get excited to read your work, either here or on AO3!
Secondly, I just want to thank you for being such a supportive person when it comes to other people’s work/writing. Not many authors who are as popular as you support fellow authors and artists. Many “big name” stories and authors (that I shall not name but they likely know who they are) tend to either only support their friends/people they speak with on Tumblr or not at all. It is a bit discouraging when so many readers look for that “stamp of approval” and avoid great stories because they don’t generate enough buzz with the more veteran writers.
You and perhaps a handful of other authors support many stories (popular, new, or even unknown).
This is by no means a bashing or negative statement from me. I only wish to shed light on a very real issue facing many writers (especially in this fandom).
I even see it with relatively popular stories (a few you recommend and were recommended to you) some of those stories should be much more popular and shared. Especially when I see those authors support new stories.
I just hope we can get to a place where talented and well-known authors such as yourself uplift others. Especially when I’ve seen so many post about people upset with the lack of Lady D content (either writing or drawing) yet, this fandom isn’t as supportive as it should be, which is why so many people are discouraged to start writing or even finish their current stories.
I think for 2024, if a story is within your filter, everyone should make an effort to read the new and old stories. If a story has been on your “to read list” now should be the time to open it up and perhaps drop a kudo or a comment if you enjoyed it. We all know how amazing, validating, and encouraging that feels. We should want to spread that feeling!
So thank you, for all the support you show. And I hope you are able to share this post because I think so many need to see it and know they aren’t alone if they feel like this.

I love being able to support other artists & writers work! I also think it's super important to support those that do/have contributed to the fandom! I know for a fact that I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the art and fics I've found, which in turn gave me the confidence to create my own stories.
I've been lucky enough to have gained a small following here and I owe pretty much all of it to the people who reblogged and supported my stories when I first started. When I see artwork or fics pop up in the tags I follow or on my dash I always try to reblog them and support the creator.
I totally understand the "stamp of approval" thing you were talking about, and it's something I've definitely been guilty of looking for. But at the end of the day, as long as there are people who are still enjoying my stories and what I create, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It doesn't matter if it's 5 or 500 people that are interacting with your art/writing, as long as you enjoy it, I say keep at it!
For me, I love being able to share new (or old!) artworks and fics I find on here with my followers and I have no plans on stopping anytime soon!

I don't know what fic writer needs to hear this but you are NOT owed anything.
I've seen some troubling posts lately, and I just felt like it needed to be said.
Interaction comes in three forms here on tumblr likes, comments, and reblogs.
While likes don't generate awareness of our stories to other readers, they should still be appreciated.
Comments also don't spread our stories to others which is the argument I hear against likes consistently, but suddenly comments are okay? And I know people will make the argument that comments help us know what they liked. True, but they don't spread our work out to others.
Reblogs are the only way that readers actively participate in driving our readership up but people also complain when it's only a reblog and no commentary to go with it.
All of these forms of support should be appreciated regardless of what we want. My own fics have dried up for the most part for comments and reblogs but the likes I get let me know that my stories still mean something to someone. Even if it's just being liked to come back to later.
For me, writing has always felt like a privilege. Creating something is such a miracle, and then having others love it just compounds that luck. But we put our content out there OURSELVES. No one asked us to start doing it. It's our choice to spend the time and share that product freely.
If you are blocking people simply because they're only liking your stories and not commenting or reblogging...I mean...you do you, but that is so fucking toxic. Support is appreciated, but it's not owed to us.

what you said about maxiel fanfics with endgame lest4ppen, yes, I agree. someone mentioned this before, but maxiel is slowly dying on ao3 while it seems to be thriving more and more on tumblr.
for me it's 50/50 because I don't mind where I'm reading, but here we have more one-shots and pieces of WIPs (which is good because it means authors don't feel the pressure to turn everything into a 50k story, so they can just post their ideas even if it's incomplete), but I personally LOVE longer stories, so I would love to read more and more about every single one of them.
and personally I just don't like lest4ppen at all. I understand the need to tag maxiel because daniel is the bad guy and the "shitty boyfriend" or whatever, but I just don't like seeing those stories 😬
will always preface asks like this by saying people can like what they like and find joy in whatever, i ain't gunna turn my nose up at anyone or anything, lestappen just doesn't make sense to meeee personally, but honestly whatever butters ur bread!!!
as someone who has dabbled here and there in this writing lark, for me there is a distinct difference in ao3 posting and tumblr posting....ao3 to me is formal, ur presenting something perfect, a fully-fledged story, a beginning a middle and an end (not in all cases but i just mean in general). most stuff i read on ao3 is fully-fledged nuanced ideas that the author has obviously spent hours of time crafting and experimenting with.
tumblr fic is inherently fun and blase and easier to throw out there into the ether and forget about really. tumblr fic doesn't need to follow grammatical rules or structure etc etc....it can just be a fun prompt game response or a quick lil fic that you had fun writing and wanna share with ur people?? both have purposes and both are enjoyable to write imo, just depends on what ur feeling and how much u want to expand on said idea??
when it comes to the maxiel of it all....idk how rude or pointed i can get here without getting into shit....so i'll try and word this gently....you have to keep the eco-system alive....i think comments and kudos are GREAT but honestly, if someone reblogs my fic with a fun few tags, i love that more, because in a selfish way, i might get 1 or 2 more readers from that because its going out to an even wider audience?? but its more than that!! engage with ur writers, message them on here and shout at them about their ideas, send them prompts, recommend their fic to ur friends...but i will stand by i think one of the best things you can do, if they make a fun lil post or graphic for their fic...reblog it...ur not only spreading the maxiel gospel, but ur also supporting that writer?? too many times on here i see people's fic graphics flop yet big blogs are leaving them comments on ao3 and look, EACH TO THEIR OWN and also i can sometimes be a bad reblogger dont get me wrong, but LIKE, there are some wildly talented authors on here who just need to be pushed into the limelight a little bit more??? idk if im wording this correctly, but sometimes there are fics that fall through the cracks because no one engages with them, and if ur an author who has put blood sweat and tears into that fic, ur not exactly going to be motivated to post another maxiel fic if u dont think ur going to get engagement from it (again, fic writing isn't necessarily about engagement or response, but let me tell u when i get a fun little comment or someone messages me about a fic i published, it inspires me to write more????)
maxiel is definitely alive and kicking, i follow some stunningly good maxiel authors, but at the same time, its about pushing forward those smaller writers as well and not thinking ur too cool for them???????????????

Splinter exhales until he’s dizzy and slithers down onto the floor like a disappointing tsuchinoko, groaning. The bathroom, like the rest of the house, is full of official Lou Jitsu merch, from shower curtains to branded toothpaste.
“Okay, that was mortifying,” he groans to the tiny turtles peering out of the cat backpack’s porthole window. “The hardest part is over. Papa will be done with his heist soon, and then you can go back to destroying the truck’s upholstery.”
Set shortly after being mutated and escaping Draxum, Splinter brings his kids along on a daring heist—robbing his own house. I about bust a gut the first time I read this, this fic captures Rise’s chaotic energy to a tee.

Donnie teaches Raph all the tips and tricks to solving a jigsaw puzzle, and then they stay up all night working on it together. A sweet fic that makes you look at Raph as more than just the brawn, as well as showcases Donnie’s softer side.

When a meet-and-greet with Atomic Lass’ actress goes poorly (to put it lightly), it’s up to Donnie’s brothers to cheer him up. Seeing Donnie get so excited just for it all to come crashing down is a genuine ouch, which makes the way his brothers show how much they care about him all the more heartwarming.

He was unsure if the dread and anxiety had been building and he hadn’t noticed or if one nightmare on a Tuesday night jolted his senses when he woke up. Either way, he was now battling with his own negative emotions.
Everyone was so worried about a million other things though, so he did his best to deal with it himself. A bit hypocritical, considering how preachy he had been to his other family members about sharing their own emotions and asking others for help, but he was Dr. Feelings! He could handle this on his own.
In the meantime he continued to cook and hug and make sure everyone else was feeling better than he did.
In the aftermath of Shredder’s attack, Michelangelo struggles with moving pains. This comes to a head when the family finally gets a chance to go back to their old lair to see what’s salvageable. Some gentle hurt/comfort, for when things aren’t okay but will be—eventually.

Draxum clenched his fist in defiance and fury. “I see…” he rumbled, “...we live in a society.”
“Nah,” said Michaelangelo, cheer recovered. “You live in a society. I live in a sewer.”
Oh Draxum, my beloved. I have a soft spot for reformed goatman, and this fic helped scratch the itch. Set between “Repairin’ the Baron” and “Mystery Meat”, Mikey helps Draxum craft a resume in a plot that could be ripped straight from the show, and their banter is perfect—as is Splinter’s indignation when he’s called in as a reference. The turtles walk into an abandoned toy factory from hell, and Donnie’s on a mission to save his brother. This is a light crossover, but you don’t need any knowledge of the other series (Poppy Playtime) to enjoy it. In fact, I’d say not knowing even adds to the horrific ambiance; not knowing anything about the villain used from it only made her more terrifying to me. Puppet!Leo is also delightfully creepy.

Who would’ve thought that he would be given mystic weapons (and later mystic powers), learn about his dad’s past, take down several city-ending threats, meet the spirits of his ancestors, and become a hero alongside his family and friends all before his next birthday? That whole situation was... pretty crazy to think about. Amazing, yeah, but definitely still crazy. In that sense, maybe a more normal and lowkey birthday was just what he needed.
Just a sweet moment of reflection, as Raph celebrates his birthday and spends some quality time with his father. Set post-the Season 2 finale.

Raphael has cried a lot today already, but this just about sends him over the edge all over again.
Set immediately after the business on Staten Island, the family drives home and Raph looks after a too-quiet Casey. A lot of tender family moments ensue, and the author has a great grasp on everyone’s voices as the rest of the family flits around in the background.

Especially in the middle of the night, when his thoughts can linger and his mind can spiral into an endless torrent of misery.
Leo doesn’t know what to do with that knowledge. Leo doesn’t know what to do anymore, besides set it aside and hope, pray to whatever God there may be that he doesn’t conjure up any more unnecessary images that will haunt his dreams.
Donnie has withdrawn somewhat since the invasion. Leo’s love language is physical affection, and he misses spending time with him. They have a hear-to-heart and are there for each other, and I am so soft for this fic.

His left eye saw flashes of what his body was doing, moving to the whim of another, smashing and slicing without restraint, but nothing concrete.
Not until he had Leo struggling to speak, to breathe with his hand (tentacle) wrapped around his throat.
That part is crystal clear.
Weeks after the invasion, Raph and Leo finally talk things out. If you came out of the movie loving it but wishing the writers had given us a little more resolution between the two of them, this fic is a must-read that pulls on the heartstrings and absolutely delivers on the emotional catharsis.

Whenever he’d become so overwhelmed with affection for his family that he felt like it was going to get too big for his body, he’d clamp down on the closest available body part, squeezing enough for his family to feel the pressure of it, but never enough to break their skin. Never enough to actually hurt them.

Leo stopped. “Game?” he asked, looking back over his shoulder.
“Yes, uh – yes yes yes, the game,” Donnie babbled, lunging at the PopMeister and grabbing a bottle to gesture with. “The game we can’t play without you. The rules…are…that we each make a soda for another member of the team. A bespoke drink, catered to their exact specifications – flavours, carbonation level, whatever you feel like your team partner would prefer. We, uh – yes, we mark them out of ten. Whoever makes the highest graded soda wins!”
He beamed at his brother – too widely to be real, a bead of sweat already forming at his temple. Raph and Mikey looked between the two of them, gaze ping-ponging back and forth, breath held tight in their chests. Leo turned.
“One game,” he bargained, walking back towards Donnie, prodding his finger in his brother’s chest. “One, okay?”
After the invasion, Leo pushes himself to become a more serious leader. The rest of the turtles just want their brother back, though, and resort to desperate measures to get him to spend some quality time with them again. A light-hearted fic about the road to recovery.

He excuses himself after several helpings of Mikey and April's delicious pies, shutting himself in the room he's sharing with Raph and Leo. He flops onto his sleeping bag and stares at the ceiling fan. The sunset filters through the window in shades of vibrant red and gold, bathing the room in its warmth and Casey with it.
He's too angry to enjoy it, and that only pisses him off more.
Damn it, why can't he stop thinking? His future (past? Present? Freaking time travel) is gone. The Krang are gone, defeated, and the Key is safely hidden. Everything Casey had feared and despised is gone, replaced with the warmth, love and care of everyone he knew and everyone he never had the chance to meet. He has a family, a life, a second chance.
But he had a family before, too.
The family takes a well-earned reprieve and go up to April’s farmhouse, and not having to fight for his life 24/7 for the first time gives Casey a chance to come to term with his emotions—grief most of all. Leo is there for him. A fic about families, old and new.

Master Splinter reaches out both hands and takes the sword reverently. He seems so impossibly old.
Missing scene between the victory at Staten Island and the end of the movie; Leo might have been saved by his brothers, but the rest of the family are still out of the loop and Casey’s drowning in guilt. Angst with a happy ending, delivered in Rise’s true chaotic fashion.

He raised an eyebrow. “Yes?”
Donatello glared at him and pulled his goggles back over his eyes.
Splinter sighed. “Donatello, I’m not sure what you want me to say.”
“I want you to just go back to normal.” His son snapped. “You don’t have to… pretend to care about all this stuff. It just hurts more when I know it’s not genuine.”
Splinter’s not immune to trauma leftover from the thwarted Krang invasion. After realizing how close he came to losing his boys, Splinter strives to be a better father and close the distance between them, but with Donatello, is it too little too late? A reflection on the struggles of fatherhood and strained relationships, and the importance of making an effort anyways.

“I’m not-” he doesn’t know what he’s not. Not going back down? Not being dangerous? “I’m not angry.” Oh, he thinks. He hadn’t really meant to say that, it doesn’t feel quite true either.
Don sits beside him, not looking at him which is nice. Donnie doesn’t like emotional stuff but he’s still always there, just to make sure they don’t feel like they’re dealing with it alone. It’s so sweet, his brothers are the sweetest. He’s so mad at them, he realizes. He’s furious.
“It’s okay to be angry,” Don says half on an exhale. “If you are, anyways.”
He’s not, but he’s also livid. He’s shaking with it but he’s sad. The big bright things in his chest are clattering stars and they’re making riptides of gravity wells and mini apocalypses. There’s too much noise in there, it’s impossible to pin down or think around.
Leo nearly sacrificed everything for his brothers, and Mikey’s not okay with that actually. The exploration of Mikey’s anger and hurt is expertly done, and nails the whole quiet fragility that can sometimes come after a traumatic experience. Very well done; very bittersweet.

It’s a nanosecond of pure nothing. No sensations, no sight, no sound, no touch, taste, smells, nothing. It should hardly register as a period of existence but it slams into Donnie’s mind with an ugly ferocity, a horrid split second of not being anything, of ceasing to be at all in a way his analytical brain cannot comprehend.
And then, quite suddenly, he is everything.
Donatello struggles with the aftermath of having been fused to the Technodrome; it’s putting it lightly to say he doesn’t like the way it makes him feel about himself. This fic is all hurt, no comfort, but it’s a fascinating bit of character introspection.

Donnie lets out an impatient sigh, fingers tapping against his thigh as he looks over and around the furniture.
"He took a small prototype for Shelldon's pocket size upgrade and then took off like the little demon spawn he is." The soft shell explains briefly, looking at her accusingly as if the whole situation were her fault. Cassandra smirks.
"My kid would never."
Snippets of Casey’s life growing up in the apocalypse, in one of the very few fluffy fics out there for the fandom during this period. Believe me when I say the hurt’s definitely still there, though.

Casey was a second too late—rule number 4: always assume there's more; he kept forgetting that one—as another Kraang speared its body between them, some half-alien, half-machine horror. Mikey’s face remained unchanged. He flicked his free wrist once, and chains snaked around the Kraang’s hissing face, its torso writhing as muscle and cable alike bulged out.
We spoiled the hell out of him, 'specially Raph—the things he got away with, Case, I swear, like one time—but that's the baby brother, you know? It's in the baby brother contract. He could doom the world with his freaky mystic stuff—Leo gripped an invisible ball in his hands and squeezed—and it'll be just another Tuesday . . .
Finally, Casey found his voice, which cracked wonderfully down the middle. “We shouldn't—Leonardo-sensei said not to go alone." Chains tightened. The Kraang made a panicked bleat. "It’s dangerous to engage without—”
“Tell Leonardo-sensei,” Mikey said, the weight in his eyes sharpening into a spearpoint, a wild throw, “finder’s keepers.”
His fist closed. POP! Leo was saying, booping a young Casey’s nose.
A dark, but fascinating take on Leo and Mikey’s relationship in the bad timeline, and how the death of their brothers may have fractured it. Grief can do terrible things to people, and seeing the way it warps Mikey and turns his best qualities into his worst is deeply gripping.

"So why—" his voice cracks to a whisper and he looks at her with such loss that her heart breaks. The fight and the anger leave his body as if they've been sucked out by grief. "So why can't I cry?"
April confronts Leo on how he’s been closing himself off since Raph’s death. We all cry for it.

Leonardo, preoccupied with looking over Kraang patrol patterns, grunts an affirmative. And then the words penetrate all the way and he almost drops the map into the flames.
“I’m what? You’re WHAT?”
“Whozzat?” Raph demands, lurching up from where he’d been dozing against the wall. “Who’s dying?”
“No one’s dying,” Leonardo says, still staring at Casey and her evil gremlin grin that says she knew exactly how much this would fuck with him and is living for it. “The opposite, I think?”
“What?” Raph adjusts his eyepatch to squint at him. “What do you mean, the opposite?”
“Casey’s pregnant,” Leo says and he’s still kind of waiting for Casey to laugh and call him a sucker because ha ha what the fuck.
This fic follows Leo in the bad future, starting from when Cassandra announces her pregnancy and to the bitter end. Everyone gets a bit of well-done screentime, but the fic is particularly focused on Leo, Cassandra, Raph, and little Casey, and how the bond between all four of them changes over time—something stronger than blood and deceptively fragile in the face of time, but never broken. You are not alone.

Hey guys, just thought I would do a list of all of the fics I have written so far with links and short descriptions! I don't tend to promote my stuff much after the day it's posted so I thought a post like this would do the job of promoting them all at the same time :)

A Sweet Surprise - A fic I wrote for Dean Winchesters birthday in January, and the first fic I ever posted!! It's a very short and sweet little one-shot about young Sam and Dean. John is away on a hunt for Dean's birthday, so Sammy takes matters into his own hands!
Get Some Rest - A one-shot reader insert Star Trek Fic. You are the head of the ecology team on board the Enterprise, and after returning from a mission that did not go as planned, Spock and Jim take care of you and make sure you get the rest you desperately need. Absolute tooth rotting fluff.
Lay All Your Love On Me - Another reader insert Star Trek fic. You walk into medbay to find Bones overworking himself (no surprise there) and try to convince him to take a break. In the process he discovers that you are a very good hugger, and word spreads fast. Basically, it's four chapters of gratuitous cuddling with Bones, Kirk and Spock, sue me.
The Lonely Warrior - Einar, my MCU OC, is a 10-year-old Light Elf who becomes orphaned and is taken in by the Avengers. Contains some pretty heavy themes, especially to begin with, but makes up for it with plenty of found family fluff later on! New chapters are being uploaded every Sunday :)
Side Quests of a Light Elf - My other current WIP. A collection of one-shots about my OC, Einar, that didn't make it into the main fic. There are a number of reasons why a story might be in here, including: it is a crossover or AU, it doesn't connect well to the main timeline, or I felt that it wouldn't have added anything meaningful to the main story, but I thought it would be fun to write anyway. These stories are not canon to The Lonely Warrior, but if you like Einar and want to see them being put in Situations, then this fic is for you!

I reblog because I love the story and want to share
As a reader my question is
Do we have to comment if we’re already reblogged it?
I just always been curious
I hope you don’t take this as rude because it’s not meant to be I’m very curious I just feel bad that some of my favorite writers feel unappreciated.
No one "has to" do anything. Readers don't "have to" comment, but likewise, writers don't "have to" share their stories with you, either.
For starters, I just feel like giving feedback on a fic you enjoy is polite and common courtesy. I'm struggling to find ways to word this that might be better understood that hasn't already been put out there a million times before.
The only comparison I can think of right now is that we think of us posting our stories as gifts to you – and please don't take that as me saying that our stories are so amazing they are a 'gift' – I just mean that we put time and effort into something and even if we're not totally and completely happy with it, we give it to you anyway hoping you'll like and appreciate it. Would you consider not saying thank you or not saying something positive about a gift if someone physically handed you one? Any decent person would at least say "thank you!" and if they like it, "I really like it!/I love it/ Oh my god this is so nice!" ... you get the idea.
We're obviously not expecting a "thank you" but a comment even as simple as "I liked this" shows us that our time and effort (Which the majority of writers on here are giving for free alongside real jobs, families, school etc) is appreciated.
I know that it might only take a reader 5-20 mins to read a story, but that story could've taken the writer hours/days/weeks/years to write.
The best way I can separate out the difference between likes, reblogs and comments is this:
Likes - The bare minimum interaction you could give to show your support. Some people (myself included) use these as bookmarks and not an actual way of providing feedback.
Reblogs - Sharing the thing you enjoyed with your followers, helping to spread it further than the OP's pool of followers. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely to have your work spread further, but without a comment, it's hard to know why someone has reblogged it. (Again, some people use reblogs as bookmarks too)
Comments - Little flecks of magical dust that will almost definitely inspire the creator to create more of the thing you loved!
I myself, and I know many other writers, have relied heavily on comments to complete a fic, or to start a new one. I had a series on hiatus for over a year, and I received one comment on it along the lines of "I love this, I can't wait for the next update" and it inspired me enough to finish the entire fic that week! THAT is what commenting is capable of that likes and reblogs aren't.
So no, you don't "have to" comment or reblog or even 'like' something, but likewise, us creators don't "have to" keep posting our creations out into a void, either.

WHY I LOVE IT
Here to Stay was my introduction to Annie’s work, and it’s one of the best Rhett fics I have ever read. I instantly loved her storytelling ability and the skill with which she sets the scene, painting a vivid picture of a world I don’t truly know or understand. She puts her heart and soul into the fic and it shows through the care and attention she pays to every single element of the story. Details that may appear insignificant at first glance often turn out to provide a vital piece of information that readers need to store for later. This version of the fic is a rewrite, and while I loved the original, this iteration is much richer and well-developed. Annie offers readers a small glimpse at small town life where everyone knows everyone even if it’s not by name, and she does this through setting, secondary characters, and a sense of community. The characterization of Rhett is on point, giving off that devil-may-care attitude when he, in fact, cares deeply. Annie portrays the internal struggle beautifully and with a mastery I can’t help but admire. Sometimes OCs can feel misplaced in the world they appear in, but that could not be further from the case with Tessa Abernathy. She fits seamlessly into the story as if she were part of the show to begin with, and the addition of flashbacks and memories makes it even more believable. She has friends, family, a job, wants and desires. Flaws, even. Tessa’s about as three dimensional as an OC can get. She shows us that talented writers invest time in developing their characters and understanding their motivations, even if readers don't know them yet. Rhett and Tessa’s budding friendship and romance are at the center of this story, and it sometimes feels as if you’re standing in the room with them. It’s sweet and a little awkward between them, just like it would be in the real world. They make mistakes, but do their best to make it right and be mature about it. It takes a special kind of writer to make you feel when the characters are falling in love as opposed to simply being told, and it’s a skill that Annie has mastered.
TOP 3 REASONS YOU SHOULD READ IT TOO
➛ If you like a slow-burn fic with the friends(ish) to lovers trope and a healthy dose of angst and mystery, this one's for you.
➛ Exceptional world building and storytelling makes this fic a must read for Rhett fans.
➛ If you just can't get enough of Rhett and Tessa, there are plenty of AUs to explore. Some are cute, some spicy, and some funny. All are equally as good as the original story. One of my favorites is the lumen soulmates AU.

Welcome to Fellowship of the Fics, a writer ran blog to help promote our fellow Tolkien fanfiction writers.
Our goal here is to spread a little love to the fandom’s fic writers and help them gain some much-needed attention. As writers ourselves we see the struggle of promoting and getting readers to view the pieces we are putting out. Hopefully this blog can help the writers just as it can the readers.
Whether you write ships or gen, OC inserts, strictly canons, etc, it does not matter, we will help promote you! All we ask is that everyone respects one another and helps get the word out about our fantastic writing community.

heeellooo!!! ^_^ thank u sm for ur compliments lovely xx means a LOTT! im gonna give u some advice based on my own personal experience on tumblr for the past 4 years (also had a previous writing acc with 4k+ a year or two back) :
start with setting up your writing blog! it’s important to let your future followers know what they’re getting into by following you and what your boundaries are. essentials to make: “blog rules page” — put your DNI (do not interact if…) section and BYF (before you follow) section in there | “request rules page” is also important if you want to take on requests from anons | “masterlist page” to put all your published work in one place | “about me page” if you want to tell people information about yourself.
for examples on how those pages can look, you can click on my profile & see how i did / set up my pages + take inspo!
it’s also partially important to have a easily navigable / aesthetically pleasing theme or layout. this will capture more attention of others. well, that’s speaking from my experience. something aesthetically pleasing to look at adds so much to the appeal !!!! i personally love it when writing blogs have a cool / cute / interesting theme bcs it catches my eye and makes me check out their works more.
after setting up your blog, you can start publishing a work of fiction. use the tags wisely and accordingly. jjk related fic example: ‘jjk x reader’ , ‘jjk smut’ (only if it is smut), ‘jjk fluff’ (only if its fluff), ‘gojo x reader’ etc etc etc ! you can follow what the writers you follow do with their posted fics. but make sure to tag properly. (p.s if you created a separate new acc, make sure that you give it a day or two bcs tumblr has to confirm that you aren’t a bot before your account is visible in tags)
keep in mind; gaining notes and followers can take days, weeks to months !!! please don’t get easily demotivated because your fic isn’t getting the notes you thought it would have. especiallyyyy at the start of your writing tumblr acc!!! i know how it feels, but i can reassure you that there will be people who will show up and appreciate your work one day!
interact with readers. interact with people who leave comments, show them that you appreciate the support they give you !! u can also make appreciation posts for ur readers and thank them for their support to let them know that it means a lot!!
interact with other writers!! reblog their fics, leave comments, pop up in their inbox with a small message — that’s how u mostly start making mutuals. mutuals will literally get u FARRRR on tumblr (ofc dont just use the other writers solely for the purpose to make ur fics get more notes . . . people easily get blocked by many if they do, they would by me too). but im sure many writers on here dont mind to spread your fics without you directly having to ask for it. if u just interact and make friends, that will follow automatically!
write what you want, when you want. getting ideas for fics can take some time, but when you do have an idea, write it down somewhere. you dont have to instantly write the entire fic — take ur time!!!!! don’t feel pressured to constantly post fics, i’m sure your audience understands that you have a life outside of tumblr.
but! posting constantly at the start of your tumblr acc can take u far as well. if u constantly appear in tags, ppl will get curious abt ur account. but don’t feel pressured to bcs it can easily burn u out !! just a little thing that i did at the start of my acc

any, haha! but in reality, i love when i get the "i don't even go here" comments because it means that my writing was enough to at least convince you to read a story about someone that you don't regularly seek out. it's pretty cool to me!
🐇: do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both?
i used to be reader insert only because i often get too caught up in world-building with OC fics that i don't actually write the plot. but i've really enjoyed OC's because there is just so much more that you can fit in so nowadays, it's both! [although i still occasionally get caught up in world building ]
🍄: share a head canon for one of your favorite ships or pairings
we'll go with Abigail and Matt for this ask (because I'm also very excited to get back to them come May).
i love thinking that for their wedding, they have a little bit of an argument on what to do for their first dance. Matt would love to learn some choreography, maybe even a lift or something, because Abby's a dancer and that is such an important part of her that he wants to 'honor' it. however, Abigail doesn't want to do any choreography because she is a dancer. she already has to memorize multiple dances for her job so for their wedding, she would like to relax and not worry about steps. (they compromise on learning the waltz box step so they are doing more than swaying + an easy romantic dip for the ending pose)
