The door closes behind Tommy and Buck wonders if he should pinch himself.

He feels like if he just pushed off the floor he’d float all the way up into the night sky, he’s so light.

But then he remembers Tommy’s parting words about calling Eddie, so he keeps his feet on solid ground, no floating here.

He feels like shit about hurting Eddie. He’d bumped him on purpose, his own adrenaline and jealousy taking over, but hurting him had never been the goal.

But he did, and even though Tommy said Eddie wasn’t mad, he still wants to apologize. Needs to. And maybe it’s the restless energy still thrumming through his body after that kiss—the kiss he can’t think about or else he’ll find himself discovering if he can race down the stairs faster than the elevator can carry Tommy to the parking garage to see if he can steal a few more—but he can’t just sit in his apartment and make a phone call.
