Is Fox Mulder the most comically-brutalized protagonist in television history? Not only is he shot and beaten up on a regular basis, but the list of extreme and exotic injuries he accrues over the course of the series has got to be some kind of TV cop record. The man is mind-wiped by the military in only the second episode. For any other TV cop, that would be a career-defining event, but it’s just a day in the life of Agent Spooky.
Bro was cocooned by carnivorous insects, thrown out of a nuclear submarine into the Alaskan tundra by an alien bounty hunter, beaten up by an invisible gorilla. He was experimented on in a Siberian gulag, drowned in the Bermuda Triangle, tortured by Neo-Nazis. I wonder what getting Freaky Friday-ed by a malfunctioning UFO cloaking device does to your gonads. How much radiation has he been exposed to? Someone test this man’s hair follicles. How many mysterious bodily fluids has he dipped his finger in and tasted at crime scenes? Dear God, someone test him for HIV. Imagine being the FBI doctor who administers his physicals.
Remember when the Shadow Government was putting LSD in Mulder’s water tank? Our boy got blown up in an underground train car and resurrected in a Navajo healing ceremony, and that’s not even the last train car he would get blown up in. One time, his lungs were filled with mutated tobacco beetles. Hoss let a quack doctor give him ketamine and drill a hole in his goddamn skull. In an unrelated incident, he had a chunk of his brain stolen. He was locked in a padded cell, trapped inside of a video game, and— of course —abducted by aliens. Fox Mulder was fully dead, and then came back to life after being exhumed, and nobody even seemed that surprised when he rolled up at the J. Edgar Hoover building like nothing had happened.
Am I missing anything? How is this man still alive? His body must be like a pillowcase full of broken lightbulbs. Every time he moves, you just hear crunching.

i was rewatching the lindsay lohan freaky friday movie that came out in like 2003 and there's a scene while her mom takes away her door as a punishment and in response lindsay lohan says "give me back my door or i will kill myself" and how surreal seeing that line in a kids film was and i was going to make post about how sanitized kids media has become, but than i remembered that the pixar film about the canadian girl who turns into a giant red panda has a scene where the mom character finds the daughters drawings of her adult crush and than goes to the store where he works at to accuse of him of touching her and also being on drugs, and it was like "oh newer kids media isn't more sanitized i just havent' actually watched alot of it and only know what happens in it because of secondhand knowledge from social media posts"

Won’t you be (mine) - Chapter 1- An Introduction
Tumblr media
Series Masterlist
Pairing/s: Steve Harrington x Reader
Chapter Summary: After Nancy chooses Jonathan, Steve resigns himself to a life without love, until you walk through the doors of Family Video. He’s never felt this way about someone before, if this is what love feels like he never wants to let you go. There’s only one thing standing in his way, your fiancée.
Steve had first met you on a boring Wednesday afternoon. It had been another slow day at Family Video, made even worse by the fact that Steve had to open and somehow ended up needing to cover the closing shift too. Stupid Keith, all he could think about was finally clocking out of this nightmare. Although he'd just be leaving one nightmare for another, his cold and desolate home where he'd end up eating some shitty microwave meal whilst watching crappy reruns until he passes out. Only to rinse and repeat the process every other day, except Friday. On Friday night he will go on some unfulfilling date with a girl who's name he won't even remember in a weeks time.
This shift was meant to get better as Robin was scheduled to work the close with him, but all she had done since clocking in was complain about her day at school. There's only so much a person can listen to flute drama in a high school band before going insane.
"Are you even listening to me?!" Robins fingers wiggled right in Steve's face, jolting him out of his thoughts.
"Yes! Yes of course, Brenda is super annoying and can't even play the flute." Steve agreed with her points, trying to calm her down.
"Brenda plays the piccolo and that was the topic of conversation like five topics ago," she rolled her eyes at this so called 'best friend' "if you want me to shutup dingus just say so."
"What? No, I'm sorry, just a lot on my mind. I didn't mean to ignore you Robs."
"What's going on in that head of yours? Too many babes to keep track of?"
"Ha ha Robs, you know I'm not really into that serial dater scene anymore, I just want-"
"Yeah, yeah. You wanna meet your soulmate, I know. You say it every Monday and then come Friday you're off on another terrible date with the first pretty girl that gave you some attention," Robin sniped.
"Okay that may have happened in the past but this time I'm serious. I want a proper serious relationship with someone I could love, and I don't just mean the next pretty girl to walk through those doors-" Steve's rant was cut off by the little bell above the Family Video entrance signalling the arrival of a very pretty girl.
...
You rushed into Family Video, one arm weighed down by a bag of groceries and the other clutched some overdue movies. You walked up to the front desk and dropped your returns in front of a wide eyed employee. Even with the thud of cases in front of him he still didn't blink.
"Um, is he okay?" you asked the familiar female employee leaning on a counter next to him.
"Yeah, he's fine, he's just a dingus. Wait," she stretched herself out and kicked his shin, snapping him out of... well whatever was going on.
"HI!" he shouted "sorry, welcome to Family Video." His face flushed bright red which made you smile slightly, it was actually kind of adorable. "Um how can I help you?"
You glanced down at the movies you'd placed in front of him "I'd like to return these?"
"Right! Yes of course, you're returning these movies that you'd like to return," the girl by his side started laughing and he tried to subtly push her away.
"Yep that's right-" you glanced down at his name badge and froze. Steve? As in Steve Harrington? You tried to match this goofy video store employee with the asshole jock you went to school with, it's like some freaky body snatchers thing was going on. Was this the same guy? The badge didn't have a last name, but it had only been a year since he graduated and now that you thought about it he hadn't changed that much. Its surprising it took you that long to notice who he is, though its not like you ever really ran in the same circles. He probably didn't remember you either, if he ever even knew you to begin with. You wouldn't put it past King Steve to not even realise you existed, even if you did grow up in the same small town and share classes since first grade.
You were quick to empty those thoughts before your silence dragged on too long and got weird "that's right Steve," you smiled up at him and hope he didn't notice your weird lapse.
"Let's see, muppets, E.T and Scooby-doo which are... two days overdue," he looked up from the screen in front of him and you tried to hide your embarrassment,
"I know, I know. They were due Monday but between school and work and family drama it just completely slipped my mind, I am so sorry, how much in overdue fees do I owe?" you fiddled with the coins in your wallet and tried to avoid any form of eye contact.
"Uh, nothing at all. Yep it's a new policy, we don't charge late fees until after three days."
"Really?" you asked dubiously "Keith didn't mention anything about that when I rented them."
"Well that's Keith for you, very forgetful guy. Not sure why they put him in charge, it's a wonder this place is still running," Steve laughed awkwardly.
"Well I guess they must have impeccable employee Steve to thank for that," you smiled, still not completely convinced he was telling the truth. He tucked his hair and bashfully looked away.
"I don't know about all that," he deflected "are you looking to rent another movie?"
"Oh no not today, but I'll probably be back Friday," you smiled at the two workers and started heading for the door "I may just see you then."
It's only after you had left the store and the door had shut behind you that Steve whispered "can't wait."
...
You came back the following Friday to rent some films and Steve stumbled awkwardly through the entire interaction. His plans to flirt and charm had gone right out the window. He's not sure what happens when he's around you, it's like he's a different person.
He tried again the following Monday. And then Friday. And before he knew it it's been a month of seeing you twice a week and yet he's no closer to asking you on a date.
There's a tentative, easy friendship there and Steve enjoys getting to know you, but he just wants more. He wants more from the pretty girl with the great sense of humour. That finds his (and Robins) brand of awkward endearing instead of annoying. He's not sure how he never noticed you before, because to him you're perfect, but he's glad he's met you now.
"Today's the day," he announces "I'm going to do it."
"Do what?" Robin looks up from the magazine she's been flipping through.
"I'm going to ask out y/n."
Robin laughs and Steve is quick to scowl at her. "You've been saying that for weeks and yet you can barely get out one pick up line before blushing and stammering like a fool," Robin teases him.
"This time is different," he insists "now that we're friends it's easier to talk to her, which means it will be easier to flirt and then ask her out."
Robin just rolls her eyes and goes back to reading her magazine. Steve in turn rolls his eyes at her lack of faith and support.
Right on schedule you walk through the doors, sending a wave his and Robin's way. Steve is quick to wave back with a big smile. You briefly peruse the shelves before making your way to Steve, placing two movies down.
"The muppets and the Thing, bit of an odd combination," Steve smirks as he scans your films "you know I've heard The Thing can be quite creepy, might not want to watch it alone." he tries to subtly hint.
"Oh that's for my friend, he's been wanting me to watch it with him for a while and I've run out of excuses, so don't worry about little old me."
"That's great, wouldn't want you getting scared," Steve mumbled dejectedly, pushing your two films across the counter. But he's not backing out this time, you may not have picked up on his subtlety so he will just have to be more direct. "So listen, this might be weird or creepy and if it is you can totally ignore me and we can pretend this never happened-"
You can instantly see where this is headed and are quick to interrupt "I have a fiancee," he freezes and looks at you wide eyed "thank you for the films, now I need to get going because my daughter is a bit of a pyscho without her muppets fix." You quickly rush out of the store before things get too weird, or before you have to see Steve's crestfallen expression.
"A fiancee?" Steve mumbles to Robin, completely shocked "Wait! Daughter?!"

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS: SEASON 3, EPISODE 2: HAUNTED LEG (PART 2)
Both Emily and Lorelai are planning to attend Rory's "Swearing In" for her Vice Presidency at Chilton So, this is a very similar scenario to the one that happened 4 episodes back in "Lorelai's Graduation Day". Yes ma'am, it's another "Lorelai is unhappy about having to be at a place where her mother will also be but Rory wants them both there" situation. Yeehaw.
Tumblr media
Shhh. Nobody tell her.
Tumblr media
This is such a great line, and I don't fancy myself much of a Quote Lover, but I love this one so much I want to make it a magnet and stick it on my fridge next to my "Why did you drop out of Yale" magnet.
Nothing of great consequence or interest happens at the ceremony. Rory and Paris give mediocre speeches. Things between Lor and Emily are still chilly. Emily wants to meet Lorelai for lunch at Luke’s the next day. I see Francie up on stage and remember, tis the season for an incredibly boring storyline involving mean-girl nonsense and school politics 🥱 Francie is the Jason of S3.
I plan to forward past a lot of that sillyness and save myself some time.
Rory tells Paris after the first student body meeting that she wasted everyone’s time and nothing was accomplished and nobody ate the doughnuts that were provided. Paris is incredibly turned on and asks Rory if she wants to get married.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just more Jess erasure... Alright, alright! This was Sookie's directive (supposedly) and it was said in jest. And here I was about to cancel Lorelai again for banning Jess from her stupid inn filled with mice. I've canceled her more times than an unwanted subscription to Dean Forrester Monthly magazine.
Tumblr media
Not me going "what is this stupid obscure reference that nobody will understand", then googling it only to find out it's from The Godfather, the award winning book and movie series that half the population alive has seen but not me. I don't watch movies, okay?
Tumblr media
Yes Ma'am!
Tumblr media
I hate this stupid bullshit. Blew past the entire scene.
Tumblr media
That's more like it.
Tumblr media
Luke: Kirk came to me for advice about whether or not he had a shot with you. I told him you liked movies and junk food and talking incessantly but we both agreed that there's nothing like some good lovin to shut someone up." So then you agree, the only thing that would get Lorelai to shut up is to fuck her? Take your own advice already, Sir, and do it already. You're killing us here. Lorelai: Can you bring me a sharper fork? I'm not sure this one will go through your hand. Ah, I see that like me, Lorelai is also a connoisseur of making jokes about injuring people with forks. We're not that different, you and I.
Tumblr media
What the hell else is there to do for fun in Stars Hollow?
Tumblr media
More Crusty nonsense. Followed by student council nonsense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well if that isn't the Non Privacy And Feelings Respecter Pot calling the Non Privacy And Feelings Respecter Kettle black.
Tumblr media
At least Santa Claus visits his Children once a year, which is more than Christopher does.
Tumblr media
Not me and @frazzledsoul discussing just yesterday how often answering machines were used as a plot device on tv in the 90's and early 00's. AmyShermanPalladino in particular is obsessed with the humble answering machine. Because social media didn't exist yet and the male characters must have some way to harrass the women when they're apart. At least It's only Kirk this time so he probably meant well. Probably. He's kinda a perv. Lorelai: i hate my life. Maybe if we look into each other's eyes and say "I wish I were you" we could pull a Freaky Friday. (Imagining I'm me, Salty, and NOT Rory, Freaky Friday'ing with Lorelai): Let's see, let's see switching lives with Lorelai: The whole "fucking Luke" thing is good But then I'd also have to fuck Dean And I'd have to fuck Crusty.. Max? (eh?) Alex? (sure) Have Emily as my mother... Working at a dumb Inn... Idk if having sex with Luke is worth all that. Rory: "If we switched bodies, I'd have to date Kirk." If you switched bodies, Lorelai would have to date Dean. I don't hear her complaining about that.
Tumblr media
The real star of Gilmore Girls.
Tumblr media
Oh no. Not the LOR.
Tumblr media
*smashes that bottle of wine over Crusty's head*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
45? FORTY FIVE? He tripled the record held by the previous contender. Dean better step his harrasment game up if he wants to surpass that number. Crusty: "You don't get to dictate what to do! I called you (45 times) and you didn't respond so I did what I had to do. You can't shut me out, that's wrong! Your'e keeping Rory from me! Why hasn't she called me back?" EXCUSE ME? EXCUSE MEEEE??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh my, the whiplash of seeing Rory stand up for herself and get into Crusty's face, only to have her head to Doose's in a few moments where Jess will give her the peg-lowering of a lifetime and she'll limp away defeated with her tail between her legs. I'll put that in my next chapter. Things Googled While Watching Gilmore Girls: Clemenza, I Take A Nap Gif, Now Kiss Gif, Spelling Of Connoisseur Cutting Room Floor A joke about how Jess won't be invited to any more Bracebridge Dinners since he's vegetarian and he's banned from the inn.

Question: Hi, I'm Sarah and I'm from San Luis Obispo, California. So my question for you guys, I'm curious, if you were in the Freaky Friday situation of body swapping with each other, what are some of the first things that you would do? [Jensen points to each of them] Yes, you two.
Jared: Okay, so some people know this, some people don't. Swap Meat - no, was it called Swap Meat? Where I become like Gary? That was initially, there is a treatment for an episode where we body-swapped. It was Sam and Dean. And it was a full on, I think I'm in Dean's body and there is a Saturday Night Fever disco dance contest? It was pretty wacky. And then I think as they started developing it, I think somebody at the network studio was like, 'You know what, this might be jumping the shark.' Even though we had already done an episode called Jumping the Shark?
Jensen: Right. Didn't they change it though? In an effort to, wasn't it like midseason or something and it was in an effort to give us some time off?
Jared: Oh! I don't recall the exact reason.
Jensen: I feel like - I could be wrong - but I feel like that may have been it. If it was Sam and Dean that were swapped then we would be working all day every day -
Jared: Yeah, I see. Oh yeah.
Jensen: both of us would. I think they did it in an effort to split us up, cause that was just - yeah. They usually would make an effort to give us some breaks here and there. And I think that may have been one of the reasons why they were like, 'Ooh, this is a good idea, but they're gonna be working fourteen hours all day every day.'
Jared: Yeah, yeah, that's a good point. I think you're correct. I think - so if Jared was body-swapping with Jensen, there's probably a different answer, but if Sam body-swapped with Dean, he'd probably go to the fridge, throw out all the unhealthy shit and put in salads and fruits -
Jensen: He'd throw out the beer and put kombucha -
Jared: Hey, I like kombucha.
Jensen: I know.
Jared: So I'll go with that for sure.
Jensen: So are you talking about Sam and Dean or are you talking about Jensen and Jared?
Q: I was talking about Jared and Jensen.
Jared: My fault, Sarah, geez. They're pushy in San Luis Obispo. I'm teasing.
Jared: I'd probably get up and play a concert if I was Jensen.
Jensen: I would go get my knee surgery.
Jared: [laughs] You ain't lyin. What would you do [to fan]?
Jensen: And then I would go play any game of pickup basketball there was. I'd just be like [mimes slamming down an imaginary ball, waggles finger] uh-uh-uh-uh.
Jared: I pulled that yesterday!
Jensen: I know! Somebody tried to toss something by Jared and he just slapped the keys down and was like [waggles finger again] not in here.
Jared: It was car keys and I think in the group that I hang out with now, but also grew up with? If anything is thrown within the vicinity of one of the friend members that shit is getting swatted out of the air. Like, don't throw it if it's breakable, don't throw it not near - people are like jumping over children in strollers trying to knock something out of the air.
Jensen: You did it, I remember - I can't remember what it was, but you did it in the middle of a scene. And you didn't even mean to do it, it was just so reactionary. I was tossing Misha something and you just, you were like sad or it was a depressing scene, I was like, 'C'mon Cass let's go' and I tossed something and you just [mimes slapping down object without looking up]. And I remember you immediately regretted it because we had to go again! [both crack up]
Jared: I believe it, yeah. It's like keys falling off a table, you just reach for it without even thinking. Okay, Sarah, turn the tables. If you had to be Jared or Jensen for a day, what would you do?
Audience: Ooooh.
Jared: I like.
Q: Let's see. If I was Jared for a day, I would be able to reach anything on the top shelf, easily.
Jared: Clean the cupboards without a step stool, I like it.
Q: And if I was Jensen for a day, I'd get to look in the mirror.
Jared: What would you [laughs] wearing what? Soldier Boy?
Q: That is the question.
Jared: Shakespeare said it best.
Jensen: Just stare in the mirror! [props face on hand]
Jared: That's gonna be season sixteen of Supernatural. Just Jensen [furiously flutters his eyelashes].

one piece chapter 1102
Salute recruits and soldiers to this freaky Friday ⚓🌊⚓🌊⚓🌊⚓🌊⚓🌊⚓🌊⚓🌊
Big gib big apologies I'm behind with my chapter... as per usual Christmas has caught me in a vice grip of decorating, buying presents and plan for cooking. I hope to pup the new chapter before New Year.
Also the Christmas party at Marineford HQ was a blast but thats a story for another post 😉.
Right now I focus on chapter 1102 , thats hopefully the final part of Kumas flashback, because I don't think my heart can stomach more tragedy. Essentially Kuma is watching events unfold watching Bonney grow a famous pirate, loosing his last bit of individuality.... ahh depressing have tissues ready...
Also given Bonneys real age let's all remember this scene where she get captured by Blackbeard and he hits on her gives me "eeeeeeeewww" vibes.... just saying.
As always support official release and spoiler warning.

Recently watched: Susan Tyrrell in Angel (1984) and Avenging Angel (1985). When I recently posted my birthday tribute to the hellraising whisky-voiced maverick “outsider actress” citing my favourite Tyrrell performances, multiple people demanded, “But what about Angel?” Somehow this one always eluded me. I vividly remember seeing the lurid newspaper ads for Angel as a teen, with its “High School Honour Student by Day. Hollywood Hooker by Night” tagline. Angel isn’t streaming on any legit platform in the UK – but it IS currently viewable on YouTube, so I finally watched this infamous grindhouse cult classick (sic) for the first time Friday night. And it’s a true trash epic! Like any self-respecting sexploitation flick, it finds any excuse for gratuitous female nudity (for no logical reason, the action keeps cutting to the girls' gym changing room). The language is notably filthy (the C U Next Tuesday word gets thrown around freely). All due regards to the leads (Donna Wilkes as plucky Molly aka Angel, Cliff Gorman as the gruff cop trying to save her from a serial killer, Rory Calhoun as a washed-up cowboy), but for me Tyrrell’s fire-breathing portrayal of butch, sewer-mouthed Solly Mosler dominates. Her acting choices here incorporate freaky asymmetrical scrawled-on eyebrows, broken reading glasses and a punk haircut. At full throttle she recalls Susan Lowe as Mole McHenry in John Waters’ Desperate Living (1977). As the AllMovie website concludes “the true entertainment comes from the supporting cast: Susan Tyrell and Dick Shawn steal every scene they are in as a lesbian landlady and drag queen duo who bicker like an old married couple. These performances are almost better than the movie deserves and thus keep it from being the usual b-movie fodder.” Sequel Avenging Angel is a lesser work (Betsy Russell, the actress who replaces Donna Wilkes, is fatally unengaging) but it has its moments. If anything, Tyrrell mugs even MORE furiously and is MORE abrasive this time. As always with Tyrrell, you wonder if anyone dared to direct her or did they just say: “Let SuSu do her thing and stay the hell out of her way.”

Kim Possible Episode Tiers: The A-Tier
Since most of the episodes in the show are quality, the A-Tier is best defined as episodes that have a thing that makes them stand out. In addition to being quality, there's a reason to remember them.
This is also the largest tier, so strap in.
Coach Possible: The Kim coaching B-Story runs a little flat, but Jr. putting together a nonsensical plan that results in hypnotized Kim and Ron dancing in cages in a nightclub is what I live for. There's an underrated ending fight as well that culminates Kim fighting a Chuck E. Cheese robot, to catchy dance music, while Ron launches an evil disco ball to its destruction.
Tumblr media
Bueno Nacho: Another iffy B-Story about petty work squabbles, but it's one of the precious early-series moments where we get to see Drakken and Shego at the top of their game. This was actually back when Drakken was still menacing, despite kicking off the tiny oversight that ruins his plan trend. Also, the lean.
Tumblr media
Tick Tick Tick: The first episode in the production order. It does feel weird because they hadn't settled on the animation or the characters yet. That said, there is some amazing hero-villain banter in this one that they nailed right out of the gate.
Steal Wheels: The reveal that Motor Ed and Drakken are related pays off big time and it's sort of a shame that more team-ups between the two didn't happen. There are a couple of good things about the B-Plot here as well: (1) We sort of get a glimpse into how close Kim and Ron are, because she doesn't know what to do with herself when he's not there. (2) Always good to see Felix and have a character voiced by Jason Marsden.
Bad Boy: I honestly considered moving this lower, but I decided against it because the Attitudinator is too good of a concept to ignore. This episode drags a little bit because it gets bogged down in the exposition -- They felt the need to go through the whole process of Drakken not feeling evil enough, them going to the convention, explaining why Kim and Ron went to the convention, Ron being a bully for a bit . . . like get to the Evil Ron stuff already!
It's only a minor complaint though, this is still the A-Tier.
Mad Dogs and Aliens: Terrible B-Plot in this one because I never understood why Ron wasn't touched by Jim and Tim taking on the mantle and him immediately jumping in to show them how it's done (it's also kind of forgettable, it took some brain racking to remember it). The A-Plot is gold though. Bitter Drakken and apathetic turned jealous Shego reconciling the consequences of multiple episodes of Season Three wasn't really something I thought the show was capable of.
Tumblr media
The New Ron: I've written it before, but the Seniors are brilliant villains. Combine a criticism of obscene wealth + Ron giving them the idea + the motivation for world domination being boredom . . . it's just a glorious recipe for a unique, comedic delight. I also relate to Ron's cowlick problems.
Monkey Fist Strikes: It's another villain introduction for a very good villain. I think what really puts this one up there for me is another top fight scene. Another good music selection (that I'm not sure really how to describe other than giving off a Sherlock Holmes vibe). It results in Ron coming through, by himself, and leaving Fist cinematically strewn across the Tai Sheng Pek Kwa insignia and surrounded by four broken idols.
Tumblr media
Odds Man In: What a surprise, another sort of weak high school B-plot. The interesting aspects here are Drakken getting caught up in the sort of corporate villainy he had previously expressed distaste for (see Rappin' Drakken). Also, Wade goes on a mission with Kim!
Mind Games: I love the body swap concept, but fiction always sort of does it the same way. Freaky Friday, Gravity Falls, this episode . . . it's all sort of the "I didn't understand how hard you had it" thing. What makes this episode A-tier is Drakken and Shego's interactions over the body swaps and the Neutronalizer are some of the funniest bits in the series.
Low Budget: I love Frugal Lucre. I love that he is voiced by Richard Kind and I love the idea of trying to hold the world hostage without spending any money.
Tumblr media
Crush: I made a whole post about how this is a really good Ron episode. It also might be the exception to this tier where it's just really high quality all the way through, but without anything particularly high concept about it. That's probably why it aired first.
Car Trouble: All of Shego and Drakken's interaction with Dr. Freeman are fantastic. It's too bad he wasn't a recurring scientist like Bortle. It's also a better B-plot than most because Sadie was a perfectly likeable vehicle.
Tumblr media
Go Team Go: One of the brief glimpses we actually get of Shego's past. I'm not sure if I'm 100% sold on her brothers or not, but undoubtedly this is one of the more interesting episodes. Plus, evil family.
A Very Possible Christmas: I've taken to watching this on Christmas. A lot of gushy holiday feelings between the two lead pairs. The ending is a little weird though.
Dimension Twist: There is an element of cringe here -- It's weird to put Shego in a very milquetoast Friends parody. There's a lot of good as well (trap trap, Drakken's book) and honestly, I just want to see what else the Pandimensional Vortex Inducer can do.
The Ron Factor: I wrote a whole post about this one too. It's a very interesting subversion of the metanarrative within the show and the only reason it isn't S-tier is that Global Justice annoys me a bit. Could definitely have used more Gemini in later episodes though.
Tumblr media
Sick Day: This is the best of the sub-15 minute episodes and the whole point of them is to go for quick laughs and nothing else. I would say it achieved it here with both sides having to quickly adjust to illness and the introduction of Hank Perkins.
Hidden Talent: "Say the Word" is a certified banger. I also like to see Drakken taking initiative to try and be a step ahead of the heroes. Don't forget, the only reason he loses here is because he tries the most complicated way of finishing off Kim ever.
Overdue: The second best of the 15-minute episodes. Once again, we're only here for jokes so we're going to see what happens when Ron tries to rush through defeating a bunch of different villains. It's enjoyable.
Tumblr media
Oh No, Yono!: It's the end of Monkey Fist. It's a satisfying coming-of-age conclusion for Ron and a heartwrenching moment when Kim gets turned to stone. It's only not S-tier because Yono's presence detracts from Ron's real archenemy.
Exchange: For as good as this episode is, it's also very much a setup for what the series planned to do with Ron in the future. We've seen him succeed on his own at this point, but Exchange is interesting in that it creates a part of his life that Kim just can't be associated with.
The Twin Factor: The first of like a hundred mind control plots. It's fun to see brainwashed Shego and Kim and it was important for the series to actually develop Jim and Tim a bit, lest they be pigeonholed into one-joke obstacles for Kim to overcome.

everyone should like, totally vote for Troy and Abed👀 here's some examples why:
"I need to figure out who I am" "ill help you:)"
the whole scene where troy tries to send Abed a voice-mail but overthinks it and keeps trying until jeff has to step in and calls troy abeds boyfriend 🤷‍♂️
"our adventures are very manly" then proceeds to put his arm around abeds shoulder
Troy remembers the anniversary of him and Abed watching freaky friday but not his anniversary w his gf, he also got Abed a present to commemorate the occasion😭
when troy goes back to greendale he walks past Britta (his gf) hug and goes immediately to Abed then only acknowledges Britta when she says something
"I (britta) have to go talk to troy" "yes and tell your boyfriend and his boyfriend that playtime is over"
the "You were out there somewhere and you weren't looking for me?" line reminds me of the Somewhere Out There duet they sing together. the songs goes "somewhere out there, if love can see us through, then we'll be together, put where dreams come true" and if that isn't the most trobed thing😭-
"thats whybwe leave the  couples costumes for the couples ...." "you should probably warn your boyfriends boyfriend" no one argued against the troy x abed comment, suspicious🤨
"why is Thanksgiving so terrible?" the continues to lay his head on abeds shoulder
theyre so perfect for eachother, everyone else refers to them as boyfriends. even if they are being sarcastic. it still counts
vote trobed!!!!

I Am On A Journey to Watch AS MANY Films with Crispin Hellion Glover in Them As Possible
Tumblr media
I will do my best to watch the films/shows and give a high-level view of my thoughts on each.
I will continue to do this until I watch all of the films I have on my list (the list will be added to this post as well as updated throughout).
I am playing catch-up compared to my other social media accounts but, to be honest, Tumblr is perfect for this kind of thing.
So... Buckle up because this is going to be a LONG ride. (:
First, I’d like to personally thank Crispin Glover for all the fantastic performances and artworks he’s created over the years. His approach to acting is beautifully unique, and every single one of his performances are memorable. Though I haven’t had the pleasure of viewing his own films, I’ve at least seen some of his artwork through the books he publishes. Now that I’ve found myself down a rabbit hole of sorts, not just watching these movies but also listening to all kinds of interviews and such, I am a huge admirer of the way he approaches what he does and creates.
TL;DR: I’ve found boundless inspiration and joy from observing both his craft and his art. So, for that and for a lot more I’m struggling to put into words because they are genuinely such big emotions, thank you!
Ok, let’s get into it.
Although this is not the original list from when I started the journey (this project began in early December 2022--today is January 1, 2023), here is the list I am using to track, plus where to watch the films. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To kick things off, and in the order in which I cover this journey on other social media platforms, a rewatch of one of my favorite slasher flicks was in order. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)!
Tumblr media
If you remember this movie at all, which you should because it is the 2nd best film in the franchise, you may recall the awkward kid who kept talking about being horny, obsessed over his friend calling him a "dead fuck," and danced real wacky in that one scene. Ya know, Jimmy “Jimbo” Mortimer. Yes! That one! That was Crispin Glover alright.
Tumblr media
Though the role is small, his performance in this is just exactly what I’ve come to expect from most, if not all, of Crispin’s performances: oh so memorable.
Tumblr media
I love this performance a lot. Even before I was aware of Crispin Glover, I was enamored with just how strange the character was and how that differed from a lot of the other performances in the Friday the 13th franchise.
A bit of a fun fact: Crispin has talked about that dance he does and mentions that the song that was played on set during filming was not what ended up being used in the final product of that scene. Apparently, the song used for filming was AC/DC’s “Back in Black.” Cool folks on the internet have attempt to show that off so check this shit out:
youtube
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As part of a double feature with Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, I watched Back to the Future (1985) for the first time. Yes, the first time. I know how shameful for a 28-year-old such as myself.
Tumblr media
I genuinely felt that the best descriptor for the film was "cute". It was cute! It’s one of those movies that I felt like I had really already seen due to how references to it have permeated our culture.
I can understand why the film is a classic. The way Crispin plays George McFly makes him an incredibly endearing character. I loved the “George-isms” that Crispin created, that carry over from old George to young George. It’s excellent work.
Tumblr media
I think Back to the Future is talked about too much, in all honesty, and especially with the whole lawsuit and incredibly harmful shit that happened to Crispin with Back to the Future II, a movie which I straight up refuse to see.
But yeah, all that aside, Back to the Future was cute and a fun time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shout out to the free streaming service Tubi, which has been incredible kind to me and provided SO many of the films on my list.
One of those films is Bartleby (2001). Bartleby is a surrealist, sit-com-style office comedy film adaptation of Herman Melville's short story "Bartleby, the Scrivener". Crispin plays Bartleby, and genuinely ends up having few lines except for, of course, “I would prefer not to” or some iteration of that.
Tumblr media
This film ended up being Supremely My Shit in terms of what I look for in a comedy.
Tumblr media
I LOVED this movie, so much so that I now own it on DVD and plan to show it to everyone. I cannot recommend it enough.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next up, Wizard of Gore (2007). A splatter/noir horror film. This is a remake of the 1970 film of the same name.
Tumblr media
I will say that this film, overall, wasn’t that great. It has some highlights though! For instance, Crispin hams it up as a wacko magician who has an outrageously huge codpiece. And, oh hey! Brad Dourif and Jeffrey Combs are in it!
Tumblr media
As I’ve sat with this one, it’s one where I can say the performance that Crispin gives is the real draw here. He’s absolutely perfect for something so strange and unusual as this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, I should back up and take some time to talk about Willard (2003). I have a lot of thoughts, as well as some fun facts.
Tumblr media
This remake of a 1971 film of the same name, which in turn was based off of the Stephen Gilbert novel Ratman’s Notebooks, is a standout so far for the films I've seen Crispin Glover in. I knew going into viewing it that it was well regarded in his filmography. I can understand why! It's incredible.
Tumblr media
It is a horror movie but not in the way that is typical. To me, the horror lies in the treatment of Willard, particularly in the workplace. And then, of course, later the horror continues but more in the form of self-inflicted acclimation of choices made by Willard (if only he were nicer to Ben! Oh, things would’ve been different). I do believe reading the rats as a force of nature as an element of horror is pretty accurate.
Tumblr media
Though the part that make this film an instant comfort movie for me/a film that immediately went on my "get to know me movies list" is Crispin's performance and the framing of Willard's abuse in the workplace. I have some pretty bad workplace-related trauma from sustained abuse by past and previous employers. I have to admit to feeling some level of catharsis in relating to the Willard character, as well as viewing him as a kind of hero despite serious pitfalls and gruesome mistakes throughout, including a variety of self-inflicted repression of emotion and being (also I'd say the character is neurodivergent-coded, and thats highly relatable to me). I also think that [spoilers] when he kills his boss with a horde of rats--not for himself, entirely, but for Socrates--I felt that in my core like, yes, it's so much harder to stand up for yourself, even if you can't take more abuse, but it's easier when you have something rally behind or protect or avenge, in this situation. Am I thinking too hard about the contents of a 2003 horror movie? Probably.
Tumblr media
Anyway. The rats are awesome in this film too, as is the performance of R. Lee Ermey. I wish New Line Cinemas let the film be rated R. I feel like more gore and Ermey riffing off strings of cursing would've been nice. Apparently, there was an R-rated version but it is lost now. I've been able to view some of the deleted scenes and I can see where an R-rated version could have been.
Tumblr media
A great aspect of promotional materials for Willard was that Crispin Glover recorded a cover of Michael Jackson's "Ben" (yes, it's about the rat). It's my understanding the original song was recorded for the 1973 sequel to Willard, also titled Ben. Anyway, the music video for Glover's take on "Ben" was also directed by him. It's an absolute treat. Check it out:
youtube
While I have you here, I'd like to let you know that the opening credits of Willard feature imagery from Glover's own published book -- Rat Catching. Rat Catching, published in 1988, is a heavily illustrated piece of visual and textural art built from the 1896 book Studies in the Art of Rat Catching.
Tumblr media
Crispin has published other works similar to Rat Catching: Oak Mot (1989), Concrete Inspection (1990), What it is, and How it is Done (1992), and Round My House (2016). In each he rearranges text, blacks out certain standing passages (a la blackout poetry), and adds his own prose and occasionally images into the margins and elsewhere, thus creating an entirely new story. Plus, as is my understanding, a visual feast for the eyes.
GUESS WHAT THE COOLEST PART ABOUT THESE BOOKS ARE?! You can get em directly from the guy himself! Literally. You can chuck $30-ish + shipping at him directly (metaphorically, of course) and you'll get a book.
I fully intend to get my hands on at least a few of them... or all of them, ya know, casually. If you also think these books sound rad as fuck, here's the website: crispinglover.com. Do it. Go get an awesome book created by an awesome artist. It's cool to do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On my TV back a few weeks ago was Twister (1989).
Tumblr media
From what I had previously read about the film, it billed as a comedy but in actuality it is more drama. It is an adaptation of the the novel Oh by Mary Robison.
Tumblr media
The film features music by Hans Zimmer, a cameo by William S. Burroughs, and, of course, a late 80s Crispin Glover doing his weird lil thing that I love oh so much. It was... bizarre!!
Tumblr media
I can’t really say if it is good or bad--it just is. I can’t even say if the ending is good or bad, it simply is what it is. Having sat with it for a while, I can appreciate Twister for eliciting emotion. I was pretty fed up with some of the character and confused at their motivations but at least it got me thinking about what was happening and asking the question “what are they doing and why?” That’s important in its own right.
youtube
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me just say, I was VERY excited to watch We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2018). I am a huge fan of the original novel, which I read when I was much younger. I remember starting to watch this film when it came to Netflix in 2019 but failing to finish it due to life events (I think we were moving), but I can say now that I have finished watching it!
Tumblr media
I am happy to report that We Have Always Lived in the Castle is a fairly faithful adaptation of the novel, give or take, and was really enjoyable to see. I feel like it is a hard novel to adapt since Merricat is an unreliable narrator and it is all told from her perspective, but I think this film does a solid job illustrating that.
Tumblr media
I'm generally very pleased with the framing of the characters in the adaptation and the performances are great. I don't think anyone else could do Charles except for Sebastian Stan. He's so good at playing a total dick.
Tumblr media
On that note, I don't think anyone else could've played Julian Blackwood like Crispin Glover. Comparing to the novel, I had no idea how to really imagine Julian in a lot of instances but seeing this character performed in this way makes SO much more sense to me. Incredible work.
I could probably go on, but I highly recommend checking it out for yourself, especially if you're a fan of the novel!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ohhh Lucky Day (2019)! It was AWESOME. Though, I didn’t keep enough detailed thoughts about it so I apologize for a short and sweet overview of some highlights.
I swear to god this film must've flown under the radar when it came out because I hadn't heard of it until recently (but I distinctly remember seeing showtimes for it back when it came out).
Tumblr media
It was a damn good time. Crispin plays a contract killer of sorts who has the most over-the-top French accent (despite not being French at all) and every scene he's in is golden. His serious demeanor for some of the more ridiculous scenes just works and brought a big stupid grin to my face.
Tumblr media
I’ve seen this film twice now it’s just a masterfully done action/comedy/drama--and yes, it really does blend the genres so well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before I take a break from letting this live in my drafts, I want to talk about a big one for me: Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, Episode 5: “Pickman's Model”. The one that started this journey. And I know, I'm so utterly late to the party! I live in my own lil horror-themed film bubble most of the time until I find some performances I enjoy and really gnaw on, for lack of a better word. So this kicked it off entirely.
Tumblr media
The whole show is a standout for me. I enjoyed every single episode and every story. I think the most technically scary was “Lot 36″ and the most relatable to me in the way it is framed is “The Outside”. Upon my first watch of the show, I just knew I'd be head over heels for the “Pickman’s Model” retelling. It's my favorite Lovecraft story, and I just love that integration of tangible art and eldritch horror. It's just the best.
Tumblr media
I feel that the adaptation is very strong, and a great depiction of a more modern Lovecraft despite the setting and time period. I loved all the lil reference drops to other works in the Cthulhu Mythos throughout as well -- such a nice touch.
Tumblr media
I felt the relationship that Thurber and Pickman have is so utterly bizarre and my own explanation for why there is a draw there is that "the darkness" itself as described and felt by both character acts as an allegory for queerness. I might be um biased, being a queer person and all, but that's just me. I think it's also valid to interpret the whole relationship as like human curiosity--like hell yeah I'd also be fascinated by this guy's art, if not also a bit frightened! So the draw is simply explained that way... if you so choose. Lots of ways to go on that end of things, and that's rad.
Tumblr media
There is such a a genuine level of depth and understanding of character in the way Crispin plays Pickman. I swear there's not even that much depth in the original Lovecraft story! It's just all on this adaptation, the director, and his performance. It's outstanding, and he really steals the show (and my heart) in this one particularly.
Tumblr media
A lot of folks, and I mean A LOT, didn't seem to appreciate the the truly old-timey Bostonian accent. I see ya’ll out there. C'mon, he worked with THE Erik Singer for that accent to sounds as true-to-time-period as possible -- at least respect it but I find it fascinating how that, being as normal for that setting as it is, given an extra level of strangeness to Pickman as a character (namely because nobody else is doing that, give or take. There are some Massachusetts accents here and there from other characters but there's not really the same level of commitment).
Tumblr media
Also, I thought the way they did Pickman's sketchbook up as a multi-media and textural kinda piece in and of itself was a nice touch -- felt like that was purposely laid out specifically with Crispin in mind to play off the works he creates. Not quite, of course, but I think that's neat and how I’m choosing to read into it.

I swear my new depression medication in giving me the wildest dreams man.
Last night I had one where I was watching a movie trailer where Amy Poehler and Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson pulled a Freaky Friday. Amy(in the rock's body) teams up with Paul Blart Mall Cop to travel across the USA to get her body back. The whole time she's acting like herself and doesn't seem too bothered by it while Paul Blart is freaking the fuck out.
The one scene I can remember distinctly is Dwayne Amy Johnson singing along to a Taylor Swift song on full volume while driving over the speed limit and Paul in the back seat begging her to slow down. And she replies "Dont worry I'm a privileged white woman." I SWEAR thats what happened lol. I'm pretty sure they got stopped by the police but unfortunately I can't remember that far.
I think another scene I remember is Paul getting on the bad side of a biker gang and they hop on their bikes to go fuck him up. But then Dwayne Amy Johnson steps out of the vehicle and the gang all freak out cause she's towering over them, ripped as hell and covered in tattoos. I don't know if they run away or not.
Again this was like a trailer so a splash of scenes were woven together and edited to show the movie's wackiest scenes. Isn't that fucking wild. Ain't the brain just a weird little sponge.
That said, I'm going to name this movie "Mall Cop 3: Blart Rocks the USA".

omg I just remembered I am DYING to know your opinions on Malignant. (if you have seen it??) anyways I thought it was hilarious and could not stop laughing the whole way thru, but I like…. still can’t tell if it was SUPPOSED to be funny or not lmaooo
MAN... MALIGNANT.... ive got mixed as hell opinions tbh
SPOILERS AHEAD BTW ⚠⚠⚠
I fully think its intended to be hilarious or at least it is VERY much a love letter to older, cheesy slasher movies. Its a slasher!! They are very cheesy. This is up there with like, the friday 13th sequels (which admittedly are some of my only reference. rip) theres no way they filmmakers put in the scene where he throws a fucking chair across a giant room and it explodes in contact with someone and didnt expect people to laugh at it. Also, there's the Very Obvious Lore Dump Guy, among other things. Theres a lot of little bits that rly make you think 'oh yeah this has classic cheesy movie vibes' and i respect them for sticking witht hat
for some reason the intro cutscene (the best part of the movie, to me) has a song by celldweller that is NOT credited in the soundtrack??? (it's 'when your walls fall' btw. went crazy trying to find it back in the day when the movie had just come out)
I THOUGHT THE CONCEPTS IN THE MOVIE HAD SO MUCH MORE POTENTIAL THAN WHAT THEY PULLED OFF... Though i forgot a lot of it x) I dont remember a whole lot of the movie itself, While i was watching the first time i was actually thinking super hard like ough... wouldnt it be so fucking creepy if Gabriel could actually manipulate electricity or whatever (like they implied at the beginning??) and couldnt speak so he communicated through the radios instead and was more like a ghost than just siamese'd I distinctly remember there being differences in the english and spanish versions, the english one actually came across more serious, but the spanish dub was full of goofs, and even in the scene where gabriel drops from like a 3rd floor fleeing from the detective, i dont remember what the english one says but in spanish the guy says the equivalent of "you have GOT to be fucking me..." and it was just hilarious
So yeah uhh. in terms of scare? maybe a 5/10. had some spooks. In terms of fun? I'd give it a solid 7/10 :]
The poster slaps super hard though that's a 10/10. They should have kept this one bc its so freaky

the only scene i remember from the book Freaky Friday, the classic children's novel where the mom and the daughter get body-swapped, is when the lady who comes in to clean hits her limit, snaps, and goes off about political correctness
which, in that historical moment, involved holding up a pencil and ranting about how you 'can't call this a colored pencil can you' because she was very racist and the mom character was supporting the civil rights movement in some way apparently, i have no idea how, i think i read this when i was 8 i barely knew what civil rights was
and the daughter character was just absolutely out of her depth having to impersonate her mom in an adult situation of this intensity.
i don't remember anything else that happened but needless to say i later found the movie adaptation underwhelming.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to other writers. For extra fun, tell us what your inspiration for each fic was.
thank you for this!<3
The Reaper's Keeper
My first ever story and series! This is my precious baby because initially, it was supposed to be my dr script. I tend to be forgetful so I jotted down a few things and i realized halfway, 'Woah, this is gonna be so dope if i make this a story.' So, yeah, i made it as one. even though i'm still a long way from finishing this story. it'll be like a journal for me when i become successful in shifting (i still don't know how but i'm trying, does anyone know how?)
The Last Time
As I said, I tend to be forgetful a LOT of times so this is my fear manifesting into a story. I wrote this while breaking down because of the looong list of overdue tasks. I still want it to end on a happy note tho, but it depends on my mood (might breakdown again)
Stuck With You
I just want a spicy fluff with Natty baby, okay? I wrote this missing her sm (i watched the black widow for the nth time and cried laughing remembering her and her fate)
Unfiltered
i've read wayyy too many wanda angst fics before deciding to comfort my own heart by writing this down. i wanted a soft and comforting fic after breaking my fragile heart. Wanda had enough of pain and suffering :( i just wanna hold her and tell her she's not alone (she deserved so much better alongside with natty)
Freaky Friday
this is just a test drive for wandanat and i'm happy because somehow i gave it justice! (well, for me). I had so much fun writing this, giggling like a toddler imagining the scenes (i still find it a quite challenge writing the smut part because, well, i'm used to monogamous relationships) i just discovered that i don't mind polyamory and i find myself being into one in the future (but that would just give my old folks a heart attack and early visit to the afterlife) ... a possible part two for this fic, too👀
Well, that's just for now. I'm still relatively new so there's more in the future. My maladaptive daydreaming helped me a few times it's not healthy anymore.

so, I’ve never seen the Twilight movies before
this is very important to share to everyone, I promise, to explain the mental turmoil I’ve been in, in the last month
so I’ve never seen twilight. it came out while I was in high school and I was very Against Mainstream back then. didn’t want to see the “sparkling vampires” everyone was really into joking about. didn’t wanna subject myself to a series that everyone around me seemed to agree was terrible fiction
I went all through high school only having accidentally seen that one scene from Breaking Dawn Part 2. you know the one, The CGI Baby Gets Imprinted On scene
then the Twilight Renaissance happened last year
something that I used to passively dislike became Meme Central. and it was fucking hilarious. the tiktok reactions, the tumblr posts. all the pictures of Edward covering his mouth in Biology class because Bella walked in front of a fan. the fucking baseball scene. it was a cultural reset
then Battison movie came out. I saw it with one of my best friends, a dear friend who had grown up seeing and reading the Twilight books. we game together every friday, and on one of these game nights, sharing the Twilight memes, I revealed that I had never actually seen the movies
this, to her, was a cultural sin
so we agreed to watch the movies. all of them. one movie every friday during August 2022 (the timing is key to my story, you’ll see in a moment). it was glorious. and painful. and boring. and hilarious. we did skip a lot of the last movie because the baby cgi was a little freaky, but the bestie would explain what I missed. they’ve seen them multiple times. I couldn’t phathom seeing them again willingly
but then we finished the last movie. I went home
and I opened ao3
now, it should go without saying, this is where the “explain the mental turmoil I’ve been in, in the last month” actually begins. you know who burrowed like a little show blorbo inside my brain matter? no, it wasn’t any of the main characters
it was daddy dear. mister blond bimbo. Carlisle Cullen
I read so much Twilight fanfic about Carlisle. there was a day where I actually stayed up 36 hours, reading 2 100k fics, pausing to go to work, and then going back to finishing it. I was unhinged. I think I lost a fraction of my eyesight
I read everything there was to my interests and curiosities. the obsession was quenched
and then I opened up a google doc
and in a haze, 4 hours later, I had written 7k of Something
and then the next day, it became 10k. and then the next time I could focus to write, it became 12k
on and on it grew, until two weeks later, it was done. a 34k monstrosity, half of which I don’t remember writing
and today, I uploaded it. because why suffer alone? I’ll subject others to my madness too
this fic is the most unhinged, most unbelievable thing I’ve ever written. there’s vampire worship. there’s blood feeding, religious bloodletting, human fanatical suicide and whole lot of vampire gore and death. there’s vampire gods, and a threesome.
I don’t even know if I’m proud, horrified, or relieved. to have the brainrot publicized. my next post is still gonna be the fic share link 💀
now if you’ll excuse me, there’s a tropical storm outside and I need to sleep for 3 days

Horror Movies I Remember Watching As A Kid👻
🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻🩸👻
Valentine (2001)
Tumblr media
Oh this! Now this movie I would watch every opportunity I got. When it was on TV for Valentines Day I'd watch it while surrounded by chocolates and when it was over, I'd catch the repeat on the next channel! Ah I remember lying on the couch (unfortunately I was sick with flu at the time) surrounded by chocolate and Sprite and my plushies, comfy blanket and all just chilling and watching the movie start to finish. The nostalgia just brings back good memories. Love this movie😊 Also I always thought the killer looked deadly especially with the arrow scene, definitely Cupid got skills in archery!
Friday The 13th: Jason Takes Manhatten
Tumblr media
I'm a big fan of Jason since I was a kid yet you'd be surprised that I haven't even watch HALF of the Friday The 13th movies. I remember only I think the one where the little kid is in it. But this movie got me hooked on the Friday The 13th and Jason Voorhees became my favourite slasher. Though I love the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise, you'll always find me cheering for Jason in Freddy vs Jason. Plus this movie has a killer beat theme song!😆
Nightmare On Elm Street
Tumblr media
Now, to pick one favourite from the Nightmare On Elm Street would be difficult to say the least, not to mention that I can't cover all movies but luckily I only have really 3 movies I love in the franchise.
To start off, the first movie was my favourite. It was scary watching as a kid but that didn't stop me! The first one was brilliant and still is to this day. I would watch it a few days before Halloween and it just added to the atmosphere😊
Now the next one would be Dream Warriors because I liked the idea of the kids teaming up and using their dreams to fight Freddy. It was pretty cool to me as a kid at the time and to be honest, it's still cool to me😊
New Nightmare is another brilliant movie and the Freddy in it had just that absolute scare factor, like he just got even more scarier. The new claw glove in it was badass too and the storyline was very well put together. I loved it and its actually one of my sister's favourites too!😊
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Tumblr media
When I first watched this movie with my brothers, the scene at night in the woods and Leatherface coming out of freaking nowhere with the chainsaw scared the absolute shit out of me! Not gonna lie. But after the shock wore off I grew to love the first movie as it was scary as hell but I appreciated how it was put together to give you the best scare factor.
I did see number 2 of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and yes it was crazy as fuck but I do adore only certain horror movies that have that bat crazy factor and this movie got it. I love it!😆
Skinned Deep
Tumblr media
I got this movie as a kid as a present. Now first lemme get this out of the way by saying it's okay if you never heard of this film nor be aware of it's existence. That's because to the small community of fans of this movie it's regarded as a cult movie so while it's not popular with the mainstream movie community it's popular to a select few. I never heard of this movie either but I still have it to this day and for a reason.
Yes, take it from me it's VERY weird. Like more crazy than Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. It's in some way similar to Texas Chainsaw Massacre but just amped up on the crazy factor. I do love the design of the Surgeon General (Bear Trap Guy Above⬆️). On scary factor it is more freaky factor but it does hold up. Now if you did see this movie your opinions may differ from mine so I'd like to hear your thoughts on the movie😊
Interview With The Vampire

I love vampires. Hell I wanted to be a vampire since I was a kid! Well my canines are pointed more than normal so yeah, I got fangs😂 Anyway this movie goes up there on my top vampire movies list next to Bram Stoker's Dracula. I'm a total Lestat fan. Like if I was a vampire I would be like Lestat. Of course I loved Louise in it but as a kid I found him slightly whiny🤣 But now i found Louise more tolerable. Mum allowed me to stay up one Halloween dressed as a vampire to watch this, drinking sweet sugar juice made to look like blood and eating candy🩸🦇 Ahh memories!
Bram Stoker's Dracula

My favourite Dracula movie alongside Christopher Lee's portrayal as the iconic vampire. This movie is so freaking good and love the storyline. Yeah it has the love story element to it but i don't care. I love the movie. And yes, I did want Mina and Dracula to live happily ever after!😂

I watched this on the Horror Channel after my room was redecorated. It takes place in Russia and yes It's bonkers but it's funny like some scenes made me laugh till my stomach hurted. I later got the movie on DVD and still have it to this day. It's a gem in my movie collection honestly. The movie is in English in case you are wondering. If you watched it, please let me know what you think of the movie😊
The Lost Boys

Another fave vampire movie of mine! Love David and his vampire biker crew in the film. They are a found family honestly and its cool! Watched this many times in the summertime as a kid and I would love to pretend I was one of them, like wearing shades around the house!😆 Very good movie! Also my favorite vampire crush is Marko🦇❤️😉
House On A Haunted Hill (1999)

Oh the nostalgia that just hits me when I think about this movie! Oh this movie was scary, to me at least at the time but that's how I grew to love the genre of horror even more. Seriously this movie rocked for me as a kid. And that's how I knew the lyrics to "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This" because of this movie. It bewildered my parents to hear me sing the full lyrics to the Eurythmics version of the song even though I heard the remixed version in the movie but I knew the lyrics. So yeah bonus points for this movie teaching me the lyrics😂🎶
And now I'm gonna wrap this up folks! I'll return hopefully to make part 2 of this so I hoped you enjoy and maybe check a few of these movies out yourselves! See you later!😉
