The internet (and advertisements bc of TikTok) piss me the fuck off, using 1 pitched-up part of “Remember (Walkin’ In The Sand)” by The Shangri-Las when most of these people don’t even know or appreciate the actual song.
And now Spotify has labeled it with “The Oh No Song”!
Tumblr media
I’m disgusted.

The Shangri-Las | Remember (Walkin' In The Sand)
Just saw a single post saying Mary Weiss has passed. Unconfirmed, but it’s always a good time for this dramatic teenage symphony...

do you think Hits Different is haylor coded?
Hi, to me it is, though I think it is ambiguous as I think Taylor's feelings might have been. Aaron indicated it was an earlier song on Midnights. It was possibly written not very long after Renegade.
Timeline
Aaron mentioned it as one of the songs they wrote together, he mentioned it when saying they wrote High Infidelity in L.A. after Taylor saw Harry at the 2021 Grammy's. He mentioned The Great War also. (31 mins in Broken Record podcast)
I guess this somewhat depends on one's view of the Joever timeline and the Haylor aspects of Folklore. At that time Harry wrote As it was and LOML which are about moving on and there was a lot of reporting around OW.
Video
In this pretty unsettling short she wore an Opal, Taylor's worn Opals since 2014 including the Cardigan video and says 'Opal eyes' in Ivy.
Lyrics
I washed my hands of us at the club You made a mess of me I pictured you with other girls in love Then threw up on the street Like waiting for a bus that never shows You just start walkin' on They say that if it's right, you know Each bar plays our song Nothing has ever felt so wrong
Taylor has been a mess in:
All You Had To Do Was Stay: I’ve been picking up the pieces of the mess you made
Dancing With Our Hands Tied: I’m a mess but I’m the mess that you wanted
Illicit Affairs: Look at this godforsaken mess that you made me
Also the only other bus lyric is The 1: I thought I saw you at the bus stop, I didn’t, though.
Bars feature a lot on Reputation, so many associate them with Joe, (who she started dating after a lot of the album was recorded.) however to me most of those songs are Haylor.
Oh my, love is a lie Shit my friends say to get me by It hits different It hits different this time Catastrophic blues Movin' on was always easy for me to do It hits different It hits different 'cause it's you ('Cause it's you)
The Catastrophic blues, to me are most similar to Peace: "If your cascade ocean wave blues come." but I hear the lyric as Taylor is depressed.
'Movin' on was always easy for me to do' indicates Harry to me because, he is someone she hasn't been able to move on from because of the cyclical nature of it:
End Game "We tried to forget it, but we just couldn't" and "And I can't let you go, your handprint's on my soul"
DBATC: "Chandelier's still flickering here / 'Cause I can't pretend it's ok when it's not"
I used to switch out these Kens, I'd just ghost Rip the Band-Aid off and skip town like an asshole outlaw Freedom felt like summer then on the coast Now the sun burns my heart and the sand hurts my feelings And I never don't cry (no, I never don't cry) at the bar Yeah, my sadness is contagious (my sadness is contagious) I slur your name 'til someone puts me in a car I stopped receiving invitations
Taylor has also described Harry is irreplaceable, not a switchable Ken:
Question..?:"Cause I don't remember who I was / Before you painted all my nights / A color I've searched for since" and "Does it feel like everything's just like / Second best after that meteor strike
Ready for it: "And he can be my jailer, Burton to this Taylor / Every lover known in comparison is a failure"
Gold Rush: "And the coastal town / We wandered 'round had never / Seen a love as pure as it"
Finally the drunk, slurred name lyrics, (hard to slur Joe), and
Cruel Summer: I’m drunk in the back of the car and I cried like a baby coming home from the bar
Death By A Thousand Cuts: I get drunk but it’s not enough ‘cause the morning comes and you’re not my baby
I find the artifacts, cried over a hat Cursed the space that I needed I trace the evidence, make it make some sense Why the wound is still bleedin' You were the one that I loved Don't need another metaphor, it's simple enough A wrinkle in time like the crease by your eyes This is why they shouldn't kill off the main guy Dreams of your hair and your stare and sense of belief In the good in the world, you once believed in me And I felt you and I held you for a while Bet I could still melt your world Argumentative, antithetical dream girl
Joe's worn a few baseball caps, though Taylor has also referenced Harry's hats before. In early interviews Niall said he wore them to hide his hair in public, so he wears them a lot. Including this green beanie in the 22 MV.
Tumblr media
Bleeding is a Haylor Theme
Trace the evidence / Wrinkle in time reminds me of Right where you left me, "They expected me to find somewhere / Some perspective, but I sat and stared"
Hair, Stare and Sense of belief describe Harry well:
Hair (Style: long hair, Shake it off: hella good hair, Gold Rush: Hair falling into place)
Stare (Style: daydream look in your eye, Delicate: look into your eyes, Exile: eyes add insult to injury, Gold Rush: Twinkling eyes)
Harry has a belief in the good in the world, Joe may too, we don't really know him.
Finally the Argumentative, antithetical dream girl - reminds me of Gold Rush "At dinner parties, I call you out on your contrarian shit". Harry describes Taylor in Sweet Creature "It's hard when we argue We're both stubborn, I know" Kiwi "Hard liquor mixed with a bit of intellect" and Woman "I told you, but I know you never listen."
I heard your key turn in the door down the hallway Is that your key in the door? Is it okay? Is it you? Or have they come to take me away? To take me away
Finally, hallways and doors both feature a lot in Haylor songs, here the muse has a key. I guess this also depends on a perspective of the pandemic time, I don't find it a stretch to think H had a key to Taylors home. As far as I wonder if she even has a literal key anymore...
Have they come to take me away reminds me of:
Wonderland: And in the end in Wonderland, we both went mad
Say Don’t Go: The waiting is a sadness fading into madness
Don’t Blame Me: "For you I would cross the line, I would waste my time, I would lose my mind" and "Don’t blame me, love made me crazy"
I Wish You Would: This mad, mad love makes you come running
Blank Space: Magic, madness, heaven, sin

Cornfield: Part 1
We call 'em Crows.
Don't even think they know it, now that you've got me thinkin'.
Taller n' the folk we get from the north, bigger'n my goddamn house even, what with the big shaggy hoods and all that. Hafta crane m'head all the way up just't talk to 'em.
Don't ask me why now, none of us know, and ain't nobody keen on askin'. 'Specially not after what we seen what they did to those... things, with the wings.
All that red... S' a reason most folk here ain't so keen on our meat.
Pa Mike says it looked like 'nough to drown in. Can't say I disagree, after seein' it myself once.
... Y'have to understand, we ain't know nothin' bout 'em. They just showed up one day, Gramma Mella says, darker'n sin, carryin' those odd spear-guns a'theirs, chains rattlin' round their hips, and said they was lookin' fer angels.
My Gramma, back then, still takin' care of me, bein' rougher'n sand with grit to match and starin' at the ends of her rope after the war went'n turned over on us n' killed me ma' n' pa', laughed, and pointed all the way up.
She said they just nodded, real quiet like, and shuffled back out into the wheat. I remember her shakin' her head and cursin' underneath her breath for the rest of the day where she thought I couldn't hear.
Things were quiet for a season'r two after that, and the border went all cold for a while.
Then one of those goddamn things flew over the roof.
I remember, screamin', cryin', tryin' to claw my eyes out through all the blood, when it started singin'. It was... Too goddamn loud. Made the windows rattle. Eyes, fuckin' everywhere, too many fer sense, and then there-
It was a gun, in the end, that killed the thing.
One of the Crows came 'round the corner, reelin' the thing end at the end of a long chain, rattlin' up the barrel of their rifle as the thing shrieked on the ground, writhin' bout like a shot snake, then I watched 'em take the sharp prong on the end and put it through where it hurt the most to look at.
It got real quiet after that.
I remember walkin' outside, still holdin' my ears, and watching as they stood, still silent as a grave on a cold night, and blew the smoke off the gun.
Few more came around the corner then, leapin' out like frogs aflame, scarin' the wits outta me, before they stuck it too n' started draggin' it off.
I remember runnin' after em', 'cause I couldn't hear my Nanna hollerin' over the ringin', and huggin' the one all the way in the back.
It just stood there, kinda awkward, shuffled a lil' bit, and gently put me down. I remember tellin' 'em thank you, still couldn't hear myself' speakin', and they nodded, all solemn and graceful, fore they turned and started off behind the rest too.
Didn't even notice they'd all stopped n' stared.
Don't remember much of what came 'fter that whole mess, on account a' the doc takin' me aside and my Nan chewin' nails for a while before I went down fer the longest sleep I'd ever had, but that's 'bout when we started callin' it the Day of The Crow, after watchin' em pull the carcass away like that.
We weren't callin' em crows themselves though, not yet.
That, that came later.
But fer now, stranger, it's late, the stars're shinin', and if you'd excuse me, I think s' about time you went n' got settled in now.
Take care, stranger, and keep your gun handy.

Welp, all done with that. This is Bis, otherwise known a Bucket, signin' off the first part of Cornfield. Felt like dropping this on you, what with all the cannibal talk and whatnot. Had me in a western mood :D
Wrote this to the song Sleeping on the Blacktop by Colter Wall. Hit that spot juuuuust right. Lemme know what you think, feed back n' all that. Might be more after this, who knows.
Ciao.
anon this is WAY too good to just drop in my inbox, how the fuck?? sweet lord of hell this is SO GOOD!! AAGH

Adam Getting Excited About Trains (transcribed because it's a lot to screenshot and subtitle by hand)
From S1E9, Mr Henry Comstock - a bright point in an episode I'm overall not that fond of.
Adam (looking up at tree): There's timber up there to build whole new cities. Launch fleets of ships.
Joe: Hear that, Hoss? Older Brother Adam is plannin' to build that Yankee fleet of his again.
Hoss: Yeah, well, it's gonna take a mite more water than we got hereabouts to float it in, Little Joe.
Joe: Water? Oh, now, you don't think Adam is plannin' to sail his ships on just plain old water, do you?
Adam: I guess you two mountain boys haven't heard. Just so happens I'm planning on ships that sail across sand.
Hoss: I remember walkin' across about six hundred miles of it the last time Pa sent me to Salt Lake City to file them claim papers.
Adam: How'd you like to be able to do it in under three days?
Joe: (laughing) Aw, come on, now! From here to Salt Lake City in three days? How you gonna do that? I think he's gonna fly through the air, Hoss.
Adam: Maybe two days.
Joe: (still laughing) Maybe one day?
Ben: You talkin' about a railroad, son?
Adam: I be talkin' about a railroad, Pa.
Ben: Dreams are mighty good things to have, son. You know what it takes to build a railroad?
Adam: Track. Track that... runs across sand... 'round mountains... and over rivers. And track ain't nothin' but a lot of rail, and a bit of ties to lay it on.
Ben: You'd cut down all these wonderful trees to provide ties for a railroad?
Adam: I'd cut 'em down, Pa. And I'd put new ones in their place.

ANOTHER LIST REGARDING AUTISM: How different sensory input affects me, 5=least 1=most
5- Sight: I don't get overstimulated by visual stuff virtually ever. like i see all those things that are like 'Eye strain!!' and it never does nothin. Only time it ever affects me is when i'm already overstimulated from something else... or bright lights. bright lights get me. cannot stand those things.
4- Smell: Ngl, im not a 'deep breather'/i forget to breathe on occasion (very often), so smell doesnt affect me a ton, but when i do remember to actually process what the air around me smells like, i really only start to get overstimmed if its a bad smell. i've asked multiple teachers in the past to move me away from certain kids just based off smell. good smells are alright tho, like im chill walkin into a bath n body works or lighting a couple scented candles
3- Touch: if its a bad texture (scratchy, those weird blankets that look like sheep wool, unglazed pottery, flour, etc) i cannot deal w it. if its a good texture (silky stuff, this certain type of mud i make where i sift the dirt so that its smooth, fluffy sand) is aight.]
2- Taste: I have always been known as 'the picky eater'. kinda difficult to avoid spicy foods since i live very close to mexico, but i still do it. unfortunately leads to me having very light meals for breakfast n sometimes lunch since theres not a whole lot thats a win for all 3 of the ones i just listed- smell, texture and taste. taste is most important tho.
1- Sound: YES i am one of those people who plugs their ears after flushing the toilet or while running the blender or vacuum cleaner. I have vivid memories of me as a kid running downstairs and grabbing my dad's heavy duty noise-cancelling headphones that he normally wore when using power tools, just to block out the sound of the freeway near my house. this one also has to do w some trauma regarding a lot of yelling n banging n loud music, so that also plays a role.
sorry that this one is so long ;-; i had a lot to say lmao

Rapidly scurrying toward you with my hands clasped together. I open them to reveal: what song lyrics, quotes, aesthetics and Vibes do you associate with Red?
You could make a moodboard or paste in a bunch of Stuff as well/instead of type. Whatever you like!
oh BOY
ok. this answer might get long. going to put this under a readmore because of length.
Aesthetics and Vibes are all very warm toned. Yellows, reds, oranges. That dusty turquoise color and saturated desert blue, the mellow pink of the sand. Red is embodied by the desert in all ways. High moon, storm in the distance while the sun is still hot on your back. That baking kind of heat that seeps into the very air you breathe. Violet twilights and cactus flowers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SONGS oh BOY. im weak for songs.
basically anything that's heavy on the acoustic guitar and melancholy vibes, but there are specific ones i havent had a use for yet.
achilles come down
The self is not so weightless, nor whole and unbroken Remember the pact of our youth Where you go, I'm going, so jump and I'm jumping Since there is no me without you Soldier on, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?
loathe the way they light candles in Rome But love the sweet air of the votives Hurt and grieve but don't suffer alone Engage with the pain as a motive
tight rope
And the wire seems to be The only place for me A comedy of errors and I'm falling Like a rubber-neck giraffe You look into my past Well maybe you're just too blind to see
I'm up in the spotlight Oh does it feel right Oh altitude seems to get to me I'm up on the tight wire Flanked by life and the funeral pyre Putting on a show for you to see
Red Headed Stranger
The red headed stranger from Blue Rock, Montana Rode into town one day And under his knees was a ragin' black stallion And walkin' behind was a bay
The red headed stranger had eyes like the thunder And his lips, they were sad and tight His little lost love lay asleep on the hillside And his heart was heavy as night
summertime
breathe the black
ill be seeing you
knights in white satin
