For whichever WIP is on your mind lately

I always have all the wips on my mind to be honest. But I think Nicea is interesting from a multiple draft perspective, given there have been multiple iterations of Spinder and Isabel especially:

Isabel has always been a trans lady, even when I had some weird worldbuilding around that. She's also always been a musician and tended toward being a domme.

Though his exact look has changed Spinder has always been a congenital arm amputee with a facial birthmark. And he's always been a fancy dresser and the mechanic guy.

Rodney's always been the "innocent" sibling, at least compared to Isabel, but he's had the most design changes of anyone. He and Isabel have always been from "somewhere else", except that somewhere else used to be earth/the united states.

Fay and Lou have always had F and L names. I gave them their original names and then renamed them something similar like five times.

Declan always loses Cady, except in past versions Cady was actually dead. Cady and Spinder have always been bros which has always led Spinder to have some kind of weirdly close yet distant relationship with Declan after Cady's death.

Cady has always had red hair and glasses and been obsessed with his bike and also Declan.

Martin has always been there and been tall about it.

Michael and Spinder have always hated each other's guts, and Fabian and Spinder have always had some kind of doomed attraction (and to be honest Fabian and Michael have had almost zero design changes since Old Canon like a decade ago).

As for perspectives, I pretty much write in third person limited, but my POV characters went from being Spinder (Old Canon) -> Spinder, Isabel, and Rodney (Middle Canon) -> Spinder, Isabel, Rodney, Declan, Tristan, and Cady (Nicea/New Canon).

Impromptu Dance Session ♡

Legitimately just got the urge to doodle characters dancing, and at first I was gonna add Light (my persona) in there, but then doubled back and just made it a self-insert!

Somehow, reader and Sun got into talking about how he's programmed w/ dances, but he's never actually danced with anyone. Cue reader blasting music from their phone and dragging him up from the breakfast table to dance (ignoring his anxious protests).

Kitchen/Dining Room – Because, as stated previously, the kitchen is now bigger! One of the big things I wanted to do in here was to add in the new appliances from Home Chef Hustle – the stand mixer, the waffle maker, and the pizza oven – and that required me to put in more counter space to make sure Alice still had a free counter to cook on. Which I did by making a line of island counters at the edge of where the “kitchen” floor meets the “dining room” floor. However, doing that meant that I couldn’t fit their original dining table in there anymore, and my searches for a smaller one didn’t really yield anything I liked. So I made the room slightly bigger (shrinking the mudroom and the hallway slightly) to accommodate the table. Worth it, though – I really like the new island counters with their appliances, and since they’re island counters, I was able to put some decorations around said appliances, like a kitchen scale (though not the HCH one, one of my CC ones from "Cottage Garden Stuff" by @plumbobteasociety), a cookbook on a stand, and Gino the MySim trophy (as he’s holding a pizza, I figured he should be near the pizza oven). I also upgraded the kitchen sink, added some hanging pots and pans from the ceiling, and replaced the coffee machine (which was worth $0 for some reason, but hell, I’m upgrading to more expensive stuff for everybody for a REASON, the gang is NOT hurting for money) with a tea maker, since that seemed more appropriate for the trio. (Or, at least, for Victor and Alice – Smiler is probably more of a coffee person, but as this version is a vampire and can’t drink any of it, moot point in this save!)

Back Patio – Simple change here – upgraded the chairs around the back table to slightly nicer, more comfortable ones. Which fortunately came in the same fun patterns as the previous set. :D Had to make sure they matched the umbrella!

Victor and Alice’s Bedroom – Going back upstairs, I replaced their old computer with the second Immersive Bend computer Smiler won at GeekCon and recolored it slightly, then got them a nicer officer chair to go with it. I originally also put one of the posters Victor found on a recent trip to San MyShuno up on the wall beside the desk...but then, while deciding if I really wanted to delete one of the medium-sized pictures of the gang posing in their swimwear on their trio honeymoon or not, I realized that “hey, I don’t have any pictures of that honeymoon in their room! Smiler has one – they should too!” So I stuck said picture up on the wall by their desk, moving the poster that had been there into Smiler’s room. :D So that worked out for everybody!

Both Upstairs Bathrooms – I upgraded the toilets to the really nice slate ones from Seasons in appropriate color patterns, then upgraded the sinks to better versions, changed out Victor and Alice’s shower for the nicest one, changed out Smiler’s bathtub for the nicest one, and upgraded the towel racks to the nicest ones. Basically, almost everything in both bathrooms is a lot nicer than it was. XD

Second Floor Hallway – The changes here were mostly about rearranging the collections on the walls – specifically, I put all the littler metals/minerals and the trio of elements Alice had collected on the hanging shelf that previously held the egg collection and put that by the door, then put all the bigger metal samples next to it on their shelf (recoloring both shelves to look similar and show off the samples to best effect). The other shelf that was previously holding the little metals/minerals went into the household inventory in case I need it later. I also put the other medium-sized picture of the trio on their honeymoon, along with one other picture of them posing outside their store, on the little notch outside Smiler’s room, as I thought they looked nice there over the pet bed. :)

Séance Room – I moved the knitting basket (and decorative yarn ball Kelly knocked out of it) and the big-ass rabbit plush they got in the mail (which I recolored to be fun polka dots) into the attic rec room, and ditched the rocking chair in the corner altogether, as the gang didn't really need it and I had no other place for it. I then moved one of the "Arcade Room Stuff" shelves (by Cepzid) containing Alice’s crystals out to fit in the display for all the various werewolf tablets and stuff (and put the one Victor fished up in its appropriate spot), then rearranged the crystals so they’d all fit into the remaining two shelves and I could delete the spare. And I finished by moving Alice’s meditation stool over to the opposite corner where the rocking chair was, as it looked like she was gonna bonk her head on the werewolf tablet shelves if she started levitating in her usual spot! XD Don't want that.

Rec Room – And finally, up in the attic, I put that one picture Victor did of Alice scratching herself on their honeymoon up by the microphone (again, couldn't bring myself to delete it); changed out the couch to another super-expensive, super-comfy one (this time blue with a gold frame to go with the rug); hung one of Alice’s spare paintings on the wall by the bubble blower (so there’s now three colorful paintings over there); and moved the recolored giant rabbit and the knitting basket over into the corner by Smiler’s frog collection. *nods* Good spot for everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

And there you have it! Not a particularly HUGE remodel, except for maybe the kitchen, but the house is now a nicer place to live, and the decorations on the walls are perhaps a little more sensible. :p Next time, we see if the newly upgraded house helps everyone achieve their New Year's Resolutions!

Attempting to reconcile the HoL 1st floor layout with what we know from the lessons

Okay so I've been seeing in the tags/notes of my post of the floor plan a lot of confusion over which room is MC's, which is very valid because this game sucks at continuity.

The primary factor causing this confusion is what we know from lesson 5-2, which is that Beel destroyed MC's wall when he destroyed the kitchen:

I think pretty much everyone interpreted "on the opposite side of the wall from it" to mean "adjacent", which would put MC's room here:

However, given that the room above it has the exact same layout, and they're both unlabeled, we can assume that this is a somewhat generic, unimportant room - which is an odd choice if it's the MC's room.

Additionally, we do know that the laundry room is adjacent to the kitchen:

So the small generic room could be the laundry room. This isn't very solid proof on its own though, since now all we have is two rooms competing for the same spot on the floor plan.

Now, let's take a look at that guest room layout again:

If you look in from the door, it looks like there's a bed on the right, and a dining table sort of directly ahead. In the back wall, there's two wide shelves sandwiching a thin shelf. Now who's room background CG does that look like?

MC's! The shelves in the back even match.

So wait, how does this match up with Beel breaking MC's wall then? Well, it is true that the MC's room can be considered "opposite" the kitchen - it's just opposite in that it's across the hall. In this case, that means

Beel broke through two fucking walls the madman.

Also I'm pretty sure the devs just suck at continuity because the dining room is nowhere near the music room in the map, and none of the rooms seem to have a bathroom attached:

#my most favorite magical amazing silliest place in the universe (my room) is in the basement :( #it’s not like Actually flooding but Someone (we don’t know who. might be our new neighbor.) turned on the hose outside and just. left it on #and the water leaked into our basement and into the walls and shit. there was a huge pool of water in the furnace room or whatever it’s #called and. there water literally underneath the floor. like literally water is leaking through the floor boards and i found out when i sat #on my rug and realized i was getting all wet. like i literally walked across my room and water was seeping through the cracks of the floor #water was EVERYWHERE #in like over half the basement. the floor of the main area is ruined i think and holy shit apparently like the inside of the walls or #foundation or whatever is so like wet and soggy that we might have to take out the entire wall that separates my room and the furnace room #and if we have to do that my stepdad says he’ll just remodel the entire basement while we’re at it. which means my room would basically be #gone. this is so fucking stupid #all because some idiot left the hose on. and we don’t even know who it is either. i think it’s our new neighbor because he kinda just #comes to our house a lot and talks to us or just hangs out in our yard. and sometimes he shows up when none of us are home #idk it’s stupid apparently there’s a shit ton of damage and that’s freaking me out because i literally love my room so much it’s my favorit #place to be ever and all my friends call it the autism room because it’s filled with all my favorite things #like my walls are bright neon lime green i got collections and shit i’ve got minecraft posters and like a million plushies everywhere #my room is literally so autism coded #ANYWAY. probably nothing will happen but yeah #side note i have a shit ton of asks to answer and tag games to catch up on and stories to read but i’ve had literally zero spoons lately #i’m gonna play minecrafttttt (in the process of building a pc so soon i’ll be able to get mc java!!! excited about that!!!!) #wyrms says stuff

Right... so... I lied. XD I wanted to try out the search features. And also show off the 'before' pics before I deconstruct this lot and make it more suitable for my friend's game. ^^ I found it on TSR--it had a ton of CC I didn't want in there, so I took that all out before installing. She likes 'beach-themed' lots, so this will be the other half to the wedding venue I made her. :D Now onto the 'search' features.. I love it so far! So, I went easy on the testing, typing in 'towel'. It brought up a few objects, as you can see... not all of which are towels. However, towel is in their description! That's all the testing I'll do for now, I kind of want to focus on finishing one of my writings for another friend of mine, and work on this lot for my friend--plus I have two Sims to give her as well that I haven't finished up yet. :/ But honestly--I love this! It does make me want to go in and change everything in my Sims' build/buy folders though. >___. I separate my Sims conversions into folders and merge them that way, so.... I have a lot. Am I that dedicated and organized? Ehhhhhh..... I am a Capricorn. Organized and procrastinator. XD It's a coin toss at that point. Oh yes, you can also see from the pic I've already started remodelling the pool tiles to a much bluer colour. Pretty! I wish we could have coloured water in TS3.
