Series Five - Ghost
Alright so the last full chapter I wrote for REM begins with Inika burning all the shit she has that reminds her of Ollie and moving out to Myshuno.
Cause fuck him, am I right?
Levi sets her up in a new much nicer apartment in the city but the level of luxury is more than she’s used to.
Then they get right to business. Levi has people tracking and doing research on Olin but a lot of the details seem suspect.
They then discuss the event in question, taking Inika back to the day they were arrested. Inika just happened to be in his dorm room and had nothing to do with what Olin had done.
He was not happy they were taking her in too.
So he frees himself once they are in open air and tries to help Inika escape.
Inika notes that she felt as though he thought if he could get her far enough away they’d stop chasing her and put all the focus on him. Unfortunately they were quickly surrounded on all sides and Nika was running out of energy.
Author’s note:
So I meant to put in this chapter or the next one that they end up getting caught because Olin puts Inika in a place he thinks she’ll be safe only for her to get immediately caught and taken back to the station. Olin agrees to turn himself in and explain everything if they agree to let her go.
Anyway... back to what was actually in the chapter. Levi says it’s strange that he’s not in lockdown because blowing up a statue on a crowded university campus should warrant some serious charges. So as he understands it only one of two things happened.
He cleaned up his act.
Or he was recruited by an Agency. Inika disagrees with the latter assessment quite strongly.
Eager to get back to work after weeks of leave, Inika heads out to her warehouse to meet up with her boys.
She is weighed down by the stress of what she and Levi talked about though. While she was gone her team has been tracking Olin. They.. find the work rather boring.
Inika explains that they’d be surprised by what the quiet ones hide.
Then goes outside for a smoke.
Outside in the relative quiet of the city night Inika begins to feel paranoid that she is being watched.
That perhaps Olin might see fit to toss her out into space like Rachel once he finds out how high up she is in Idealogix.
Her anxiety was not exactly misplaced. Olin was watching her and snagged her off the street before she could say much of anything.
Arriving in a bathroom Inika is miffed it wasn’t somewhere nicer but mildly grateful. Olin explains she’s going to be sick soon and doesn’t want it on his furniture.
After recovering from the trip Nika walks out of the bathroom to find herself in a rather nice space.
And is pretty annoyed Ollie never brought her there before.
He explains he only brought her here because it’s off world and it’d be extremely hard for Levi to track her there. Nigh impossible in fact. Then states the reason she got sick is because he pulled her through time and space and humans aren’t really equipped to handle that sort of thing. He then tells her he’ll be keeping here there for the time being.
She accuses of kidnapping her, which he doesn’t dismiss saying that she’s probably already given up a lot of information on him to her boss. Then Inika asks if she’ll just be sitting around doing nothing until he sees fit to let her go. To which he simply says.
Olin then uses Inika’s phone to reach out to Levi, telling him to leave he and his family alone.
Or he’ll have to come after him. After he finishes his business he lets Nika down and in a fury she asks if he is an agent.
Hit the limit again... another short part two incoming.

REMAux1 - Family Matters
Okay let’s get this shit knocked out. We catch up with Eva in her isolation at her Uncle Leith’s house in DSV. She’s so bored she’s been trying on her Aunt Sofi’s old dresses from when she was an actress. In the midst of this one of her mom’s arrive to give her some news.
Thea teases her for what she’s wearing.
Then gets right to the topic at hand. The family has decided to drop charges on Fin due to the recent events with his mother. That they may need to Rask boys on their side for shit that could be coming.
Then she asks Eva for her opinion on the issue with Estra and Malachi. To which Evangeline replies that she thought it had been decided.
Thea then states she doesn’t exactly agree with her little brother and that because she is the leader of their family she has every right to overrule him when they go to talk to Levi.
She also adds she didn’t punish Roxanne like Frey wanted so he’s already upset with her over the whole thing.
Eve then asks what is to be done with her, would she remain there or if she was free to go yet. Thea gives her the good news that she was now officially divorced and would be leaving but that it was on a trip rather than back to her old way of life. Just glad to get out of her cage, Eva is pleased for change.
She is also given her phone back when she’s freed and whines that they could have at least let her have that. Four months of social media is rough to miss.
Arriving at the airport she runs into her cousin Julian waiting for her. She’s surprised that the family would make him her security but he confesses that’s not why he’s there. That they’re both being sent away.
As the named heirs of the different branches of the family it is thought they’d be safer kept away from the trouble brewing between The Exiles and the other Kasri.
Eva is annoyed by this news. She thought she was finally going to be somewhat free to live her life again. Trying to make her feel better Julian points out that they’ve been given quite a hearty allowance to live off of in their travels.
And with that the two cousins make their way to Simovia and to an uncertain future.
And that’s all the REM there is folks.

Ghost cont.
Olin teases Inika saying he thought she knew what one looked like (referencing the time she pulled a gun on Julian) but never confirms or denies anything.
Assuming it’s true Inika kicks herself for not noticing shit sooner and asks him if he knows how much she really wants to hate him right then. Their lives apart from each other were nothing but secrets and lies.
Olin confirms that he does understand as he has also been struggling to reconcile the truth about her and the times they’ve spent together.
They end up sleeping together again.
But it is clear to Nika that Olin has regrets after as he immediately says he has to leave because he has work to do back in Simat.
She tells him not to go yet, not while he is in the mood he’s in but he leaves anyway but not before saying his feelings are complicated but he’ll return at some point.
Back on Simat Olin confesses to his boss Nissa that he’s been compromised and he’s holding Inika (also called Venus) at one of his personal safe houses. Nissa scolds him for being careless and not bringing her in.
Olin says he knows he’ll have to be he has some reservations.
Then Anissa puts him on suspension until he gets his shit together.
And that’s REM5. One more Aux series and we’re all caught up.

Series Four: IIIO
We begin series four with Ollie undercover at an undisclosed warehouse getting a dress down by some unnamed goons.
Seems he destroyed their shit and they are not happy about it one bit. So they’re planning on killing him. Luckily our boy has some tricks up his sleeve and he knocks himself back into a small wormhole.
Before denoting an explosion that destroys the warehouse.
After he gets his business done, he wanders about a bit until he runs into a familiar face.
Back at his apartment, Ollie and Julian catch up over a bowl and then Olin asks why he’s there. Jules admits that he was sent to deliver the unpleasant news than Olin’s mother is unwell and that he’s being summoned back home.
With some degree of hesitation...
Ollie immediately makes his way to Winden Isle the next morning where he is met by his four brothers and his father.
His dad razzes him for being impossible to get ahold of and for taking shit too seriously... even though shit is pretty serious right now.
Joss: “Listen I recognize shit’s not great but.. like probably the worse it has ever been but fuck… lighten up a little. You only live once Olin, you don’t need the fucking stress.”
The pair then head upstairs to see his mother who is no longer able to travel out in public because her illness prevents her from shifting.
The two start out pleasantly, Olin tells her his work in music is going well before Cara lays into him about sleeping around and not being careful enough. Olin swears he is but his mom is less than convinced.
Cara: “Well you fucking better be, just what some poor girl needs is a surprise blue baby. You know this is why we all stay in this fucking town Olin. Most people here have gotten used to us as long as we’re not open about shit. You need to find someone you can trust to fuck around with and make sure they know what they are getting into. You understand me?”
Having survived the dressing down, Olin and his parents wander downstairs to find two of his brothers trying to sneak out for some fun.
Their mom gives her blessing and they drag Ollie along to the club their cousin Luna manages called “The Fire Escape.” Of course their cousins Hazel had to give them the rough for being out on the town when they should be with their mom.
But Tali talked their way out of it.
While Olin notices a familiar face among the crowd and goes outside to get some fresh air.
Nika: “Tell me Olin, how the fuck is it that you keep just being everywhere I need to be? Are you fucking stalking me now?”
Olin: “Oh yeah, and this time I brought my idiot brothers along for the ride. ‘Hey guys why don’t you come help me find this girl I’ve been sleeping with? I really want to scare that fun and attractive woman off by being too fucking clingy.’ Real bonding experience for us. We even stopped for fucking chips on the way.”
They sorted out shit the way they always do.
But quickly Ollie realizes that maybe he should be with his family right now because of the whole.. mom on the verge of dying thing.
Nika is a bit disappointed but they both go back inside.
Inika returns to find her companion annoyed that they have started their mission yet despite the conditions being perfect. Inika tells Rachel they aren’t ready yet and reminds her that Levi doesn’t like it when their lackies don’t follow the chain of command.
Rachel, annoyed, leaves and vows to complete their task herself if she has to. Meanwhile the Rask family discusses recent happenings and have a great time singing and dancing over Uncle Balder’s special brew.
Having had their fill of fun the family heads for home. On the way Fin falls into a a depressive state about his life and the choices he’s made in terms of things with Eva especially.
Fin: “Fuck.. I fucked up everything!! Why am I like thiss?!!”
As they reach the island Luna comments that she’s glad Ollie is there even if it’s not for the easiest of reasons but before they can talk too much they notice something is amiss. Rushing towards his parents house, they find it engulfed in flames.
And his brother holding his lifeless mother.
Realizing that his oldest brother and father are missing, Olin quickly makes the decision to go after them.
Meanwhile Inika is freaking the fuck out at her underling Rachel for her actions. That she should have followed orders. Rachel accuses her of compromising things because of her attachments to Olin.
Rachel: “Oh but you do don’t you? You’re fucking one of them. Don’t try to deny it, I saw you two through the fucking window, you were begging him for it. It was kind of sad the way your face drooped pathetically when he rejected you. Tell me… is his dick blue or grey? I read sometimes they come in pure white. What does yours look like? Either way must be nice, hear they have a lot of stamina. Good for a fucking halfling like you. What fucking luck to not have to scrape it with human trash.”
As the two women argue though the lights go out and it’s clear they have visitors.
Luna, not wanting Olin to go it alone, joins him on his search for his father and brother. They quickly locate Eddy who has been drugged by something that shouldn’t grow on Simat, a Kas plant that is easily made into a neurotoxin.
Olin wants to find who has done this and how they got the chemicals so Luna agrees to get his father and brother out of harms way as Ollie peruses the ones responsible.
TBC because I think I hit a hard limit on images for one post.

Series Three: Company Girl
Both having business in Myshuno, Olin and Nika make their way to the city together and get comfy in Ollie’s apartment.
But Inika can’t stay for long because there’s shit to do. So she gets dressed up and head out to work.
Arriving at an undisclosed warehouse she meets her associate, a man named Hudson who compliments her dress and asks if she’s really going to work in it.
She laughs and says no that this is just for her after-party and brought a change of clothes. After swapping out, she meets Hudson in a back room to deal with a lacky she calls Hemi who has been talking to some agency about their business dealings.
Hemi refuses to talk though and so Inika offers him a deal to talk to their boss and try to square things away for him.
Hemi: “Fuck you Venus I don’t want any more of your deals.”
Inika: “I’m sorry baby but that was the wrong fucking answer.”
Having completed her business Inika heads out for a drink and then back to Olin’s apartment where she is surprised to find him still awake.
He says he really doesn’t sleep much anyway. Pleased Inika asks if he wants to help her get undressed.
And he of course agrees.
The next day Inika heads into the office to speak with her boss, who is having some disagreements with his ex-wife.
Inika notes this happens all the time and then follows her boss back into his office teasing that his wife seemed extra volatile that morning.
Levi explains that she’s just upset because their son, Malachi, has gone off the grid and she’s worried he might be in trouble. Inika laughs and says he probably just took a vacation since his co-star is having so much trouble with the paparazzi but her boss thinks there’s more to it than that. Levi thinks he took advantage of convenient timing to dip out on his responsibilities. That it’s been four days.
It’s then Inika realizes there might be a connection between his and Estra’s disapearence and admits that Yager men had visited her around the same time. Levi is furious and asks who the kid belonged to that they were asking about. When Inika tells him she’s one of Frey’s but not to worry because Estra has been low-contact and has a tendency to run away anyway it doesn’t help anything.
Levi says that Frey is the worst possible person to deal with in this situation because he’ll just assume Malachi kidnapped her and pressured her into shit. That it could lead to a lot of problems for business on both sides. He decides to send Nika and Hudson out to Sulani to bring them back and put an end to the trouble.
Back at the apartment Nika says her goodbyes to Olin before heading out on the job. They are seen by his friend Rohan who gives him a hard time about it.
“So another one bites the dust man?”
“She’d have to be a ‘one’ for that to be true and neither of us wanted that.”
The pair talk for a bit while pre-drinking before heading out to meet friends. Rohan mentions a crash over the bay of Indealogix tech and how stupid it was for them to test it so close to the city.
Olin: “Yeah those kind of people never think anything will go wrong until they do.”
Nissa, Darian, Grace, Xoui, and Galen wait for the other two to arrive and talk about conspiracies. Galen mentions that he’s starting to really think there might be more aliens out there other than those from Sixam. Xoui and Grace tease him saying he watches too many of those conspiracy shows.
Olin and Rohan arrive, the latter of the two is extremely drunk and Nissa gives them a lecture about it then asks to speak to Olin privately.
She asks Olin what went wrong in OS alluding to Estra’s disappearance and tells him he needs to come in to speak to her. Olin tries to make excuses but she states it’s an order.
Meanwhile Nika has arrived in Sulani with Hudson.
Nika: “Okay Hudson, I know you know what the deal is here. We have only one mission: get that fucking girl. From what Anders has told us Malachi will come for her if he knows where she is....”
The two split up and Nika makes her way into the beach house where Mal is already waiting.
“Mal sweetie, can we talk about this? Your mama misses you honey.”
Mal tells her his mother doesn’t miss him, just misses the thought of what she wants him to be and that he’s found what he wants in life.
Inika then teases him for his obsession with Estra, saying that she’s been with plenty of others and implies she’s probably not as into him as he thinks. She also points out that she ran away from Mal before because of his intensity and likely would again. Malachi vehemently disagrees stating they are on the same page now and will be getting married.
Inika states that Estra’s father won’t allow it. To which Mal just says he won’t have a choice in the matter. Then proceeds to tell Inika to remember her place.
“And let me take this moment to make it clear to you that I’m not your fucking sweetie, your baby, your honey, or whatever other fucking pet name you like to call those who you think are below you. Some day I’ll be your fucking boss and I don’t appreciate that kind of fucking bullshit. Only one person can call me that shit and it’s not you, you understand?”
Nika then states “Wow you really are his son aren’t you?” and then Mal tells her that she’ll be delivering a message back to his parents.
Out on the beach, Estra is dealing with a not remotely well prepared Hudson.
Hudson: “Listen.. fuck… can we… fucking talk?!”
Estra: “Oh now you want to talk, when you find out you can’t do a quick snatch and grab while my big strong protector is distracted? This isn’t my first time dealing with company men asshole. My dad has men twice your size and much wiser.”
Mal and Nika then walk out to find Hudson and Estra talking. She admits this isn’t the first time she’s dropped off the grid but given the circumstances she expects her dad will send people too.
She then apologizes for breaking his ribs.
Now with Nika carrying the message Malachi tells Estra they’ll be heading back to DSV to plan their wedding. She is a little annoyed given the hassle they went through to get to Sulani. But Mal convinces her that it’s too much trouble for everyone to hide their relationship and their parents will just find them anyway.
So we end series three with Mal and Estra’s parents finding out they will be coming home but only on their own terms.

REM Aux - Thanks I hate It.
Author note: REM Auxiliary is kind of weird. They’re meant to be very short chapters because I was feeling like the full ones were getting super long and I wanted to touch on some smaller moments here and there. Now I’m feeling going in a direction that’s even further removed from the chapter format with this so I guess this is where I started to feel like it had gotten too complicated.
ANYWAY..
REM Aux0 begins with Estra and Mal seeking support from her friends in their upcoming marriage since both families are being difficult about the whole thing. Unfortunately Grace points out that not everyone, including her, are all that thrilled given how hard their original breakup ended up being on Estra. They seem to understand.
Grace: “Well okay then, guess we should get this shitshow on the road huh?”
Meeting up with them are Xoui and Galen, the latter of which is more interested in Mal being a bit of a celebrity than anything else. Last to arrive is Ollie, who is on the same page as Grace.
So Olin sits on down with everyone else and they start talking. Estra explains the situation that her parents aren’t coming to things.
Olin makes a snide comment about her dad’s disapproval.
Ollie: “Or perhaps he doesn’t want his daughter tied down by a family of fucking murderers.”
Which ticks off both Malachi and Estra.
And she demands he apologizes.
But Ollie’s not in the mood.
Estra chases after him, slowing time to get his attention.
Which he scolds her for since the wrong kind of people might notice that shit.
They talk for a few minutes, Olin catches her up on the issues between the Kasri families. Explaining that his mother was murdered by some of Malachi’s dad’s people. That also he’s been creating and selling weapons/technology based on old Kasri tech used in their civil war. He also states he doesn’t believe that when Malachi takes over anything will change. It’s just the way of things for their people and there’s too much profit in it.
Estra says she’ll think about these things but doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do about any of it. Ollie admits that the doesn’t know what she should do either. That just to think about things and do what she feels is right for her.
In turn she asks him to think about giving Mal a chance. That maybe they’d find they have more in common than they know. Having come looking for them, Malachi is annoyed to see how close they seem to be and over hears them saying they care and love each other.
And decides to bounce.
Estra tries to talk him out of it explaining they’ve just been friends since childhood and it’s not the same as what they have.
But he’s just not having it.
Once Mal is gone, Ollie offers to walk Estra back to where she is staying if she feels she needs company but Estra feels as though that’s probably not the best idea. They also talk a bit about their past sexual history and both admit that aspect of things was pretty awkward.
Olin: “.... Guess I had just gotten so used to awkward after parties I hadn’t really thought about it.”
And then wrapping up this series we head back inside to their friends who are waiting.
Galen: “Doesn’t seem like they’re coming back.”
Grace: “What a shock…”
Galen: “So you guys wanna go hit up the bar?”
Xoui: “Sure why not?”
Grace: “Might as fucking well.”

Alright, now that I’ve had a few days to let my anxiety settle a bit I’ve decided that I’d probably use so much of what has happened as a basis for a reboot that I might as well just keep things. So time for a recap for those who don’t want to strain their eyes reading the old posts.
