Chapter 10 Digidestined Or Digidevil?

“That’s right Sendou, we have the same ability! So do Suzagamori, Lo and Soryu!”, Ryu replied, and Aichi was beyond shocked to hear he knew.

“You know all of that?”, Aichi questioned, feeling nervous wondering how much the nefarious teen knew.

“I’ve done my research, Sendou. I’m tired of losing to you. I’m going to win this time, just accept it! The only way for you to win is to drop your morals! And you're too much of a pussy to do that! You’ve lost your edge completely after your cardfight against Ren!”, Ryu replied and the others looked shocked.

“I don’t think humans are supposed to have edges.”, Neemon said.

“He meant metaphorically you oaf! Though I can't imagine Aichi having any edge…”, Bokomon said and Aichi looked away.

Dynasmon couldn’t imagine it at first then remembered how Aichi reacted when they failed to capture Leviamon the first time. He was different then from his usual kind self.

“You say that as if having it was a good thing. Make no mistake, the person I was when I used the Shadow Paladins isn’t one who should be emulated.”, Aichi replied.

“Hehe. To think a little goody two shoes like you ever had a dark side. If you want to win you will need some of that edge back.”, Ryu replied.

Aichi didn’t look amused which only made Ryu grin more.

“You seem to have a little too much.”, Aichi murmured, scoffing which made Ryu growl.

“What’s that supposed to mean?! I hold the power here! Don’t get smart with me! I can still kill them!”, Ryu questioned.

“Then you’ll lose your only bargaining chip. Trust me you don’t want to test me Ryu...”, Aichi replied in a deeper tone, shocking them.

“You don’t want to test me! I’m the one with the hostages!”, Ryu growled.

“No…you really don’t want to test me…”, Aichi replied as his voice got deeper then a dark red and black aura appeared around him making Ryu’s eyes widen.

Bryweludramon looked concerned for Ryu seeing how scared he was. Ryu was sweating bullets and started breathing heavily. He imagined those grinning faces with red marks on their faces which resembled bloody tears. Along with those alien units in silver armor with black rings. Ryu stumbled falling on his butt as he felt that terrifyingly familiar aura.

“W-what are you d-doing with that p-power Link J-Joker?!”, Ryu questioned as Bryweludramon got in front of him.

“After I defeated Link Joker, its seed entered me. That seed will eventually resurrect Link Joker in my body. That’s something I don’t think you want to happen considering how much it’s making you tremble.”, Aichi replied.

Ryu breathed heavily starting to feel infuriated at the other teen causing him fear.

“You don’t have anything! Stand there or the babies die!”, Ryu replied as his eyes glowed red and veins appeared on his face.

“Take your best shot. You couldn’t even scratch me before?”, Aichi taunted strangely…

Ryu took the bait then started punching and kicking the other teen. No matter how much he hit him it did nothing. He was left panting and exhausted as Aichi looked down at him, making him angrier.

“You…freak! That’s why I haven’t been able to hurt you! You have had that demon’s power flowing through your veins this whole time!”, Ryu yelled.

“Yet even with that I’ve still acted more decently than you. At least I would have an excuse. You’ve willingly sunk down into the depths of depravity. Just because you hate me.”, Aichi replied.

“S-shut up! I’ll kill you!”, Ryu yelled, this time actually hurting him but he didn’t care to ponder why.

With renewed vigor he pounded the bluenette into the dirt.

“Hehe. What's the point? You still lose because you're a useful idiot. The one win you gain is nothing but a lie because you didn’t win it fairly. Unlike you I’m not evil enough to kill babies.”, Aichi replied.

Strangely Dynasmon did nothing even with his fiery temper.

“Fine you’ve made your choice! Kill Dynasmon!”, Ryu said as Bryweludramon shot fire at Dynasmon.

The knight did nothing as he was engulfed in the cursed flames. Even the mighty Royal Knight crumbled to nothing before him. He’s finally won..but Aichi was still smiling he couldn’t have that. Bryweludramon rammed itself against the walls, killing the captive Digimon who screamed in fear. Ryu laughed maniacally as Aichi watched his sacrifice amount to nothing.

“How about that?! You still lose! Hah!”, Ryu laughed hysterically, pointing at the fading Digimon and Aichi stared blankly at him.

“I warned you…”, Aichi said in a hollow tone as Ryu felt a chill down his spine.

Ryu was blown off Aichi by a powerful shockwave. The dark aura engulfed him and red markings appeared under his eyes.

“Now…prepare to-“, Aichi said as he raised his hand to the trembling Ryu then suddenly…

Everything suddenly melted away…he saw Aichi and Dynasmon! The knight has a hand on Aichi’s shoulder. The tamer was clutching his head as a rainbow spiral flashed in his eyes. He noticed bits of scarlet invading his eyes. The dark red and black aura was trying to swallow his light blue one. Aichi closed his eyes and sweated heavily as he leaned on Dynasmon’s shoulder.

“Woah that Link Joker is so powerful!”, Bokomon said as a vein appeared on Ryu’s head.

“What the hell is going on! I beat you!”, Ryu questioned, he and Bryweludramon paled as he looked over to see the captives free and behind the two.

“That was my power…Psyqualia…honestly sometimes I honestly forget about it since I hardly use it.”, Aichi replied.

Bokomon sweat dropped nervously, finding out it was all Aichi’s power. Ryu gaped realizing he had been under an illusion induced by Psyqualia, but he wasn’t sure when it started.

“O-oh…it is? This human is terrifying…”, Bokomon muttered.

Aichi got back up and his partner stood behind him casting a menacing shadow. Dynasmon glared down at Ryu and Bryweludramon with his eyes glowing menacingly cracking his knuckles.

“Now it’s open season to beat down you losers!”, Dynasmon said.

“I’ve never been a fan of trolley problems so I decided not to choose…”, Aichi said.

“W-wait! Y-you can’t do that!”, Ryu begged, putting out a hand.

Dynasmon slammed his fist into Bryweludramon with all his fury making the shield Digimon fly. Before it could collide with the wall the knight punched it a myriad of times. Ryu and Bryweludramon even briefly hallucinate the wyvern which roared loudly behind Dynasmon as he unleashed his fury. The legend arms Digimon collided against the wall, completely destroying it. But, it didn’t stop with the wall. It flew through the whole building making it shake and smoke erupt from it.

“He’s not dead is he?”, Aichi questioned, with concern and gaping in amazement after seeing the Royal Knight’s fury.

Ryu collapsed on his knees drawing Aichi’s attention.

“You’ve got to be shitting me! You still outsmarted me! This time with your Psyqualia!”, Ryu cursed, slamming his fists on the ground.

“Just give up and join the good guys, lad.”, Bokomon said.

“He’s right, you know. You don’t have to do this. The demon lords are just using you.”, Aichi said.

“You don’t think I don’t know that?! I don’t care! It’s not fair…this world isn’t fair! I still keep losing to you…why…why do you get to have everything go your way? It’s not fair!”, Ryu yelled.

“Boo hoo! You didn’t successfully kill babies or me.”, Dynasmon said.

“I will admit I have been very fortunate in my life but that fortune is coming to an end…”, Aichi replied looking up before lowering his gaze back down to Ryu.

Aichi looked down at the seed in his chest. He’s been really lucky in his life so far, but this thing may be the one thing he can’t overcome…he closed his eyes. He wanted to believe there was another way, but he wasn’t sure if the angels could even help him.

Then suddenly Bryweludramon hastily flew back in covering Ryu and a loud roar rang throughout the building making it shake. Aichi’s eyes shot open before he fell to the ground, stunned and confused, especially as Ryu started laughing. He got up pointing at Aichi mockingly.

“What’s so funny?”, Dynasmon questioned as he raised his fist after pushing himself up.

Aichi pushed himself up, turning to look back at the others. His blood ran cold as he didn’t see them there. He practically jumped up looking around for them frantically.

“Where are they?!”, Aichi questioned, worriedly.

“They're dead. That was Belphemon’s roar, anything below mega is destroyed instantly that may include your other friends.”, Ryu said with a truly demonic smile and Aichi paled.

“…What..?!”, Aichi questioned, wondering if he heard Ryu right.

“You didn’t disintegrate because of Link Joker and I was shielded by the strongest shield in the Digital World, but the others may not be as lucky.”, Ryu replied and Aichi froze.

He thought of Kourin, Olivier, Crusadermon, BlitzGreymon, CresGarurumon and Gatomon. They could very well be…after all without Link Joker he’d be toast. That also means Bokomon, Neemon, and the babies are dead too for good. The others may be too…Olivier was another person here because of him. He shuddered to think of how his loved ones would react to finding out he perished and Kourin…Kourin…Aichi’s heart rate increased dramatically. It hurt enough when she lost her memories if he really lost her after finally finding her again. His mind went blank…

Aichi couldn’t hear Ryu’s laughter or Dynasmon growling at the other teen. He could feel a raging inferno inside him though as the seed pulsed within his body. His eyes dilated and his hands formed fists which shook. A dark red and black aura overflowed out of him. This time it was no illusion to distract Ryu.

Dynasmon tried to reach out for Aichi and was blown back a bit by the intense aura. Scarlet hues invaded his blue eyes. The knight dug in his heels preventing himself from being completely blown back. The teen’s eyes became bland and hollow. He raised his finger to Ryu in a gun motion.

“Hehe. You think I’m falling for that this time, Sendou! I know you won’t-“, Ryu said, before red energy charged up on the tip of his finger and he sweated nervously.

“Sendou…isn’t here.”, Aichi? Replied, in a deep and hollow tone which sent a chip down his spine.

Bryweludramon hastily moved Ryu out of the way as the possessed teen fired.

“Oh shit…”, Ryou cursed, sweating bullets as he saw the energy tear through the wall.

“Aichi, snap out of it!”, Dynasmon called out, grabbing Aichi’s shoulder only to have his hand slapped away much to his shock.

“Like I said…Sendou isn’t here…Dynasmon.”, the possessed Aichi replied as he turned to Dynasmon.

The wyvern knight’s eyes widened as he was met with familiar soulless eyes…the eyes of the void when it took his tamer’s form. It was in control now. It has possessed Aichi.

Kourin suddenly jumped from where she was as a horrible feeling coursed through her. She could feel Link Joker and she had to get to Aichi fast. She looked around confused about what happened when the roar rang throughout the building. Crusadermon quickly covered her and Gatomon quickly ran under the same cover.

“Lang?”, Kourin questioned, looking around for the other girl.

She wondered if she ran somewhere. She quickly looked around the room for her and found nothing puzzling her. She shook her head, deciding to find Aichi first.

Olivier was absolutely confused as well his partners suddenly covered him as a loud roar echoed throughout the building. He looked around seeing the rest of the horde had disappeared.

“What in God’s name…?”, Olivier questioned as his partners got up.

“I dunno what that was, but it gave me a real bad feeling.”, BlitzGreymon said.

“You can say that again. That was seriously weird.”, CresGarurumon replied.

“What to do now though…? We’re still stuck in this Digital World because of those demon lords…I guess we can always destroy this world first…”, the void said, it was extremely eerie to hear the hollow tone from his normally emotional tamer.

“I’m not doing that. Aichi said to stop you if you possessed him!”, Dynasmon replied.

Ryu felt a deep primal fear erupt within him as he felt the void’s presence. It exerted an overwhelming pressure that made you feel like you were drowning. It was so impossibly strong it’s power felt boundless. Inside the body of the normally cheery teen its presence was even more unnerving. This feeling worsened as the bluenette’s lips curled into a devilish smile that Dynasmon could even imagine the teen making.

“That wasn’t a suggestion, that was an order. Know your place…”, the void replied.

The void raised its hand to Dynasmon who raised his fists. Dark red and black energy shot from it at Dynasmon who guarded. That was a mistake however as the aura seeped into him and he screamed. Ryu and Bryweludramon shrinked back trying to get away. Dynasmon roared, blowing the others minus the void back. His eyes glowed red and the dark aura surrounded him. The void looked over to Ryu who flinched. The other teen trembled, bowing to the void.

“P-please don’t k-kill me Link J-Joker sir! I’ll s-serve you!”, Ryu said, fearfully knowing he was no longer dealing with the bluenette.

“I won’t kill you…I see that living is a much worse punishment for you. To live with the crushing regret of your own actions. Though, there is something I want you to do for me…you see I don’t want Sendou Aichi to wake up and stop me…so I need you to kill his annoying friends. My control isn’t complete yet and I worry he may rouse if I try to.”, the void replied.

Ryu hastily nodded, not wanting to meet the void’s soulless gaze for long. It was like a demon…

“Come Dynasmon…”, the void said, gesturing to the mind controlled knight before they descended down further into the building.

“Damn it…”, Ryu cursed as he lowered his head.

His legs shook intensely and he sweated buckets. He had to obey the void or he was sure he’d face its wrath.

The void smirked having finally gotten ahold of Aichi again. It had felt an interesting presence deep within the lab; perhaps it was that project Ryu was referring to.

Ryu scrambled up with the damaged Bryweludramon looking around for Aichi’s friends.

Kourin sprinted trying to find where Aichi was, but the lab might as well be a maze. She couldn’t even find Lang now. She stopped gasping when she ran into Oliver and his partners.

“Oliver, have you seen Aichi?”, Kourin questioned and he shook his head.

“I haven’t seen him since we got here. Do you hear that roar as well? Do you think it’s Belphemon?”, Olivier questioned.

“It’s a good guess. Maybe Aichi is fighting Belphemon? That could be why they split us up. You know divide and conquer.”, Kourin replied, putting her hand under her chin.

“If that’s the case we can try going up. That’s where I heard it from.”, Olivier said as he pointed to the ceiling.

“You know where the stairs is?!”, Kourin questioned, having not seen a way up.

“We can make a way.”, BlitzGreymon said, before Olivier put his former v-pets together.

Omnimon was formed who aimed his cannon at the roof.

“No lifeforms detected in blast range. Fire! Transcendent Cannon!”, Omnimon said, before letting out a powerful blast that cut clean through the unknown material and out of the building.

“I guess that’s one way…”, Crusadermon said, sweat dropping.

Olivier got on Omnimon’s back and Kourin got on Crusadermon’s. They flew through the hole Omnimon created. Above the lab they can see extremely muscular demon Digimon with goat horns and two sets of wings. Its body was dark brown and it had a red symbol on its chest. It had claws and an extra set of laser claws strapped to its knuckles. Broken chains were wrapped around its body.

On the way Bryweludramon flew at them covered with flames like a fiery asteroid. Omnimon and Crusadermon flew apart making the flaming Digimon miss them both. Unlike an asteroid however it curved around trying to strike them again. Omnimon fired its cannon squarely at Bryweludramon, sending it crashing to the ground and defeating it instantly.

“Wow…that was fast.”, Kourin said, sweat dropping stunned by Omnimon’s power.

They continued onto the demon Digimon.

“That up there is Belphemon. It looks like our information is true.”, Omnimon said.

“Yeah, let’s deal with him quickly. Aichi doesn’t seem to be here. You and Crusadermon should go find him. You can leave this guy to us.”, Olivier said.

Kourin was a little worried about leaving Olivier and Omnimon alone to face Belphemon, but they have proved to be powerful. Not to mention it was important to make sure Aichi was alright. Kourin nodded before flying away from the incoming battle.

“See ya! Have fun dying, stupid human!”, Gatomon thought, glad she was with Kourin rather than Olivier.

Ryu punched the ground angrily at being so easily defeated. Bryweludramon was still struggling to stand after being hit by the cannon fire. Ryu could see Kourin in the air, no doubt searching for Aichi. He chilled remembering the void’s words not wanting to know what it would do to him for failing it.

The void seemed quite smug to have its biggest obstacle under its control. Absolutely relishing in controlling the teen’s body. The hope of both Earth, Cray…and now the Digital World. Most importantly the biggest and most persistent horn in its side for the longest time. It wondered what exactly this being was. Whatever it was it seemed like a great asset to control. Various Digimon appeared in its way, but it wasn’t concerned. It through Aichi simply smiled as Dynasmon tore the other Digimon to shreds effortlessly. The void casually continued its stride unbroken as the screams of Digimon filled the air. It hummed finding their terror to be music to its ears. Eventually it found the project and gazed upon an egg in a tube. The egg had odd strands of flesh attached to it like the other parts of the building. It exuded ominous energy.

Barbamon lurked in the shadows watching the void and Dynasmon. He carefully calculated his next move. Had this been Aichi he may have taken his luck in striking him down where he stood. However it could feel an extremely powerful and ominous presence had taken over the teen’s body. Attacking normally was dangerous enough with Dynasmon watching him like a hawk. It was made worse due to Dynasmon and him being powered up. He wondered just what this alien presence was. It was unlike any power it had felt before. The being touched the glass gazing at the egg with its empty eyes.

Kourin started descending the building as she saw Aichi was nowhere to be found in the other floors. Ryu re-emerged with Bryweludramon to her annoyance.

“You two are like cockroaches.”, Crusadermon said.

“We don’t have time for you. We need to find Aichi.”, Kourin said.

“Shut up! It’s always Aichi this and Aichi that! Just die you ann-“, Ryu was saying before Kourin slapped him.

“Ah, boo ho. Your life sucks. I've heard it a thousand times too. Get over yourself.”, Kourin said, before Crusadermon punched Bryweludramon, sending him back and making Ryu fall off.

The Digimon could barely still stand from all the damage it had sustained. Small tears were forming at the edge of its eyes as it seemed to be in intense pain. Kourin couldn’t help, but feel bad for the poor creature as small bits of data leaked from it. She raised up her hand to Ryu and Crusadermon stopped her attack.

“Hey, just give up already. Your partner is going to die at this rate. It can still make it if it gets treated soon.”, Kourin said, making Ryu scowl as he held his red cheek.

“As if I care! He’s like the third one! I was thinking of deleting him anyway for being so worthless!”, Ryu replied angrily, making Kourin slap him again, glaring daggers at him.

This made intense anger rise within her. Crusadermon glared at Ryu seeing the human only thought of them as toys that can be disposed of.

“How can he be so-…does he have any idea how lucky he is? Does he know how many people have lost their partners forever and have been shattered by it?”, Kourin thought.

“You can’t be serious…?! These are living creatures we are talking about. Your Digimon and your trying to tell me you are not only driving this one to its death, but others too?! You're despicable!”, Kourin replied coldly.

Ryu raised his fist angrily to hit Kourin back, but Crusadermon grabbed his arm gripping it tightly. He winced as he could feel the bone breaking easily without any effort. Kourin sighed, ordering Crusadermon to let him go through her former v pet.

“Honestly, what am I even going to do with someone like you? I guess I’ll just have to drag you back to the Earth. Though, unfortunately it would be difficult to prove the horrible actions you’ve committed.”, Kourin questioned with exasperation.

She looked down at the shivering Ryu cradling his broken arm while trying to hold back his tears.

“Damn, this kid is pathetic.”, Gatomon said, looking down at Ryu without an ounce of sympathy.

“Why won’t you guys just lose?! If I don’t kill you I don’t know what Link Joker will do to me?!”, Ryu said, fearfully making their eyes widen.

“Did you just say Link Joker?! Where’s Aichi?”, Kourin questioned, fearfully.

“You must know then…he’s been taken over by that demon.”, Ryu revealing, as his shaking intensified.

“Where is he?!”, Kourin questioned, yanking Ryu by the collar.

“He was heading downstairs last time I saw him.”, Ryu replied and Kourin instantly rushed there.

“I wonder…maybe I can bargain with this mysterious being. Then, we will control both Tamer ZERO and Dynasmon.”, Barbamon thought.

The void held the egg in its arms, having taken it from its container. This made Barbamon flinch; he had to do something or he would lose his project. Dynasmon twitched, hovering over his possessed tamer looking around for any other threats.

“Such negative energy…very interesting. Is it some sort of living weapon?”, the void pondered looking over the egg.

“Aichi!”, Kourin called out, running in with Crusadermon and Gatomon.

It suddenly narrowed Aichi’s eyes in annoyance.

“It’s so hard to get good pawns. Damn she’s annoying, probably here to awaken my host.”, the void thought.

It turned Aichi’s head slightly, giving Kourin a sideways glance. The worry with her skyrocketed as she could see those familiar bland eyes not too dissimilar from the reverse fighters. Gatomon’s eyes widened too seeing this was the dark power she had felt inside Aichi as Lilithmon. It seems to have taken over his body.

Crusadermon raised her rose wearily as Dynasmon raised his fists growling lowly. As the void turned Aichi fully around the positioning made it look as if he had Dynasmon’s wings.

“Milady, be careful!”, Crusadermon warned, feeling the presence they spoke of was in control of the teen right now.

The void raised Aichi’s hand creating a dark blue and red barrier shaped like a Vanguard circle which pushed Kourin away. Kourin looked up, groaning in pain and meeting the void’s cold gaze.

Digimon Tamer ZERO

Chapter 12 Forest Terminal

“Hello, Aichi’s Digimon! I am Suzagamori Ren and this is Alpha-Chan!”, Ren replied, cheerfully.

“Alphamon.”, Alphamon corrected with an awkward off.

“What happened?!”, Aichi questioned, still completely confused.

Kourin tried to explain to Aichi everything that happened with the void. Aichi told her about his last encounter with Ryu and the fates of Bokomon and Neemon. Kourin got very angry hearing what Ryu had done. Alphamon looked down feeling guilty.

“I’m sorry. I tried to save them when Ryu attacked Primary Village, but I couldn’t save all of them.”, Alphamon said.

“It’s fine, Alphamon. I don’t blame you.”, Aichi replied.

Dynasmon watched the baby like a hawk with suspicion. He snickered hearing about Gatomon’s actions.

“As I thought we should have ended that witch.”, Dynasmon said.

Aichi looked down feeling guilty about everything. Bokomon Neemon, and the babies were right in front of him and still couldn’t protect them. Then, he lets himself lose control and Gatomon has escaped with Barbamon. Aichi frowned, deeply feeling troubled as they looked for Olivier to meet back up with him.

“Am…I wrong? Even after we spared Gatomon she attacked and nearly killed Kourin…”, Aichi thought as his eyes narrowed.

“There you are!”, Kourin said, finding Olivier.

“I’m sorry my partners are completely drained right now. I think it would be too dangerous to meet back up with enemies around.”, Olivier replied.

“That was for the best. I’m glad you’re okay, Olivier.”, Aichi replied with a smile.

“What’s with the baby…?”, Olivier asked in a confused tone.

“I’m Pusumon!”, the baby digimon replied, bubbly making them sweat drop.

They explained everything that happened to Olivier who was alarmed to hear the void took over Aichi.

“We must get to Forest Terminal quickly. I hope the angels can remove the seed somehow.”, Olivier said as Ren looked at Aichi intently.

“Aichi, why didn’t you tell any of us?”, Ren asked.

Aichi frowned, looking away they noticed he had been mostly quiet. Pusumon looked up at him.

“Why didn’t you or Leon tell any of us about Link Joker?”, Aichi said, his voice sounding slightly lower.

Ren was taken aback by this and Dynasmon hmphed in approval of this.

“How did you…?”, Ren questioned.

“You two didn’t say anything either. I didn’t even find out until the world was nearly destroyed. I assume you thought you could deal with it before things got bad. It’s the same for me.”, Aichi replied.

“…I suppose you have a point, Aichi. But…the void is inside you.”, Ren replied as Aichi looked down.

“I know…Hopefully we won’t have to worry about it soon.”, Aichi thought, before looking around.

“I hope you're right. That thing has been rather annoying.”, Ren replied.

Something seemed to be on his mind.

“Is something wrong, Aichi?”, Kourin asked.

“Lang got away right?”, Aichi questioned.

Kourin froze before she blinked rapidly. A sudden realization hit her. She hadn’t thought of it too much because she didn’t know of Belphemon’s abilities previously. But, Lang did suddenly disappear didn’t she.

“You’ve seen how fast Durandamon can be. It must have gotten her out of there.”, Kourin replied, holding in a nervous sweat.

Crusadermon said nothing recognizing the obvious lie. Dynasmon seemed unsure because he wasn’t there, but she was. She knew there was no way Lang escaped when the roar came out of nowhere.

“You think?”, Aichi replied, cluelessly.

“Of course! Durandamon was moving faster than my partners individually. I’m sure she’s fine.”, Olivier assured.

“They’re all slow pokes to me.”, Dynasmon gloated, making Aichi sweat drop.

They continued onto Forest Terminal in the air. Ryu shook as he watched them leave from afar.

“Damn it! Why does everything always go right for them?!”, Ryu questioned.

“Though Sendou did lose it for a moment…But with Link Joker inside of him is it a good idea to poke at him again?”, Ryu thought.

At Forest Terminal…

The area around them was heavily forested. However, through the trees a massive castle stood out. Dynasmon growled quietly seeing the familiar castle.

“Hopefully they can cure me.”, Aichi thought, he sweat dropped when Pusumon snuggled against him.

They landed before the castle and quickly walked in. The door was opened by a Digimon in white robes with a pointed hat.

“I am Sorcerermon. The three Celestial Digimon await you.”, the Digimon said.

Sorcerermon gave Dynasmon and Crusadermon a wary look.

“O-oh, they are?”, Aichi questioned.

“They must have been spying on us…”, Dynasmon grumbled, surprising Aichi.

“How?”, Aichi questioned as they were being led into the throne room.

“We have been waiting for you, brave humans.”, Seraphimon said.

He sat on a throne along with Cherubimon and Ophanimon. They gave off an air of extreme prestige and power. Though the vibe from the two of them was warm and comforting. The third was…skeptical and distrustful. It seemed to be from Cherubimon who gave Dynasmon and Crusadermon an intense look.

“Hello, there my name is Sendou Aichi.”, Aichi replied, feeling slightly nervous at Cherubimon’s intensity.

“We already know who you are, boy.”, Cherubimon barked harshly and Aichi flinched, sweat dropping.

This attitude annoyed the others, especially Kourin, Olivier and Dynasmon. Dynasmon growled lowly glaring at Cherubimon.

“How dare you use such a disrespectful tone to my tamer!?”, Dynasmon hissed and Aichi put his hand in front of him.

“Heh. Whatever happened to conquering the humans? You seem to have become very attached to this one Dynasmon.”, Cherubimon replied, making the others minus Dynasmon and Crusadermon very confused.

“What…?!”, Aichi questioned, before he looked over to Dynasmon.

Dynasmon said nothing simply growling and Cherubimon snickered. Aichi turned to Cherubimon, narrowing his eyes.

“Just what are you accusing Dynasmon of?”, Aichi questioned.

“Cherubimon you shouldn’t-“, Ophanimon was saying her voice was the same as the one from their former v-pets.

“He should have the right to know! If anything I find it ridiculous he’s been left oblivious this long!”, Cherubimon replied.

Dynasmon gripped his fists tightly and Crusadermon tensed. Cherubimon then pointed to the two and Kourin looked shocked seeing he was pointing at Crusadermon too.

“Those two Digimon we’re the ones who took all the data in the Digital World and nearly destroyed it entirely.”, Cherubimon said, shocking the humans.

Pusumon just looked confused due to being a newborn. Aichi and Kourin were in complete disbelief, unable to believe what they were hearing. Olivier looked over to their partners and Ren was frowning.

In the Demon Lords castle…

“Unbelievable! That boy is useless! You couldn’t even kill a single one of them even after losing the other human!”, Daemon barked.

Ryu didn’t respond, looking down completely despondent. Bryweludramon was currently in his former v-pet due to being so hurt.

“What are you talking about? I told her not to be there!”, Ryu replied.

“Well it seems she didn’t listen. Oh well…I guess we can always get another one.”, Barbamon replied dismissively as Ryu tightened his fists.

“Speaking of getting another one, dispose this useless one.”, Daemon said, not even looking at Ryu as he made a gesture with his hand.

“W-wait!”, Ryu said, waving his hands.

In the three Celestial Digimon castle…

Aichi felt something rising up within him. He couldn’t believe someone would level such an accusation against his partner. It felt extremely personal even though he hasn’t known Dynasmon that long. If anything he felt as riled up as if Kai was being accused. The dark red aura appeared around him briefly.

“There’s no way that’s true!”, Aichi defended, standing in front of Dynasmon.

“That doesn’t even make sense! If they had such intentions why would they be helping us instead of the Demon Lords?”, Kourin added.

“The past tense is important. Things have changed since then. I believe they have changed.”, Seraphimon chimed in with an awkward cough.

“Dynasmon wouldn’t do that.”, Aichi replied.

Dynasmon was stunned by Aichi’s complete faith in him. He felt that warmth again though also a hint of…anxiety. He realized he didn’t want Aichi to know. It was as if he felt ashamed.

“No, that couldn’t be it! I-I just…don’t want him to get in my way!”, Dynasmon thought.

“There’s more Tamer ZERO. You still lack your memories from your time in the Digital World.”, Cherubimon said as Aichi’s eyes widened.

He lowered his head as those weird feelings he’s been having came to his mind. All the humans looked completely shocked.

“He’s right you guys need to remember.”, Alphamon said, drawing their attention.

“Alpha-Chan?”, Ren questioned.

“Sendou, Tatsunagi, and Suzagamori…all three of you were a part of the original Digidestined.”, Ophanimon revealed, making them gasp in shock.

“Digidestined?! You mean what Ryu was talking about?”, Aichi questioned.

Kourin looked at herself completely stunned. She wasn’t sure if she could refute that. All of her memories before serving Takuto had been lost.

“What are you guys talking about? I’m pretty sure I would remember coming to exciting place like this.”, Ren replied as he cleaned his ear.

Aichi sweated bringing his hand up to his head as that image of Lucemon flickered in his mind again.

“Lucemon…”, Aichi thought, the earlier image still perplexing him.

“Ten millennia ago in the Digital World or eight years ago in human world time Lucemon called the original Digidestined to this world. Other children were later called upon to aid him. This original tamer has been referred to as Tamer ZERO.”, Seraphimon explained.

“You're saying I’ve met Aichi before?”, Dynasmon questioned as it suddenly started to click.

If Aichi had interacted with Lucemon, knowing him previously made more sense. It must have been the source of the feelings of deja vu he felt. Perhaps he had fought alongside Aichi then too? But why doesn’t Aichi remember? It had only been eight years for Aichi rather than millennia for him.

“That can’t…Why can’t I remember that then?”, Aichi questioned.

“Tamer ZERO and the other original Digidestined had their memories completely wiped by Lucemon.”, Ophanimon explained.

“Why would he do something like that?”, Aichi asked.

“Well he did become a Demon Lord…”, Olivier replied.

“No. This all happened before Lucemon’s fall from grace. You see Lucemon erased your memories because six of the eight Digidestined’s Digimon perished and you were all traumatized.”, Seraphimon explained.

Dynasmon’s eyes widened as he remembered that vision of that battle. The humans were completely stunned.

“That’s why he doesn’t remember either. He was forced to forget about me…”, Dynasmon thought, feeling anger rising up within him.

But, he couldn’t be mad at Lucemon right? However…he felt like something was taken from him by losing Aichi. By his tamer being forced to forget about him. He remembered what Crusadermon said…his true reason for wanting to go to the human world…

“It couldn’t really be him could it…?”, Dynasmon thought as he looked over to Aichi.

It was after he met Aichi again that he started to remember all of this. That was when he started questioning his own motives. As much as he tried to deny it everything started to click together.

“That little boy in my daydreams was Aichi.”, Dynasmon thought.

“It’s true because I died that day, Ren. I remember all of it.”, Alphamon revealed, shocking them.

“So, you knew about all of this Alpha-Chan?”, Ren questioned.

“Not all of it. Only everything up to my demise.”, Alphamon replied.

“I see in your state as pure stored data your memory wasn’t affected by the passage of time.”, Crusadermon said.

“What do you mean?”, Kourin questioned.

“Six ultimate Digimon fell, but their sacrifices weren’t in vain. They lent their data and power to the two remaining partners this caused them to digivolve into a whole new level that had been only seen once before. They became mega level Digimon. As you can guess those two were Dynasmon and Crusadermon. They were not only mega, but they surpassed the very first mega which they fought.”, Seraphimon explained.

Aichi and Kourin looked back at their partners as their eyes widened.

“Who’s this first mega?”, Olivier asked.

“One of the Seven Demon Lords, Daemon. He achieved mega level by stealing Lucemon’s power.”, Ophanimon explained.

Aichi completely froze hearing that name. He suddenly got a massive headache as he clutched his head. In his mind appeared the silhouette of a demonic Digimon. Static distorted the image in his mind as he sweated intensely. The image disappeared as fast as it appeared as if he was whipped out of his own thoughts. It was like something didn’t want him to remember. Kourin and Ren flinched at the name. It made them feel a distinct feeling of dread.

“Aichi, are you alright?”, Kourin asked, putting her hand on his shoulder.

“That name sounds familiar…Like Lucemon whenever I try to think about it hurts...”, Aichi replied.

Aichi lowered his head as he suddenly felt a flood of emotions. While the memories didn’t stick, the feelings did. Tears stung the edges of his cheeks.

“I-I can’t believe I allowed myself to forget about Kotemon…”, Aichi thought as an image appeared in his mind.

He imagined his younger self and Kotemon in his gear. He was putting bandages over the injured Kotemon’s wounds. Like the other image it was covered in static.

Ren looked over to Alphamon. Something had felt familiar about him since they met, but he could never pin down why. Those feelings had always been laced with melancholy.

“Man…this is messed up. I can’t believe I knew Alpha-Chan and Aichi before!”, Ren pouted.

“Unfortunately the memory wipe Lucemon cast on you all seems to be strong.”, Alphamon said.

“Indeed it is. You see the two remaining partners stayed in Lucemon’s command after their human partners returned to the Digital World. With the difference in time their memories faded. When Lucemon fell he was able to take advantage of this and used Dynasmon and Crusadermon to do his bidding.”, Seraphimon explained as Crusadermon narrowed her eyes.

Dynasmon looked over to the annoyed Crusadermon.

“It’s like I was trying to tell you. All that loyalty you felt towards Lucemon was a sham. He used us as puppets in his plan after our memories were completely gone.”, Crusadermon explained, looking down.

Kourin felt very sympathetic knowing the feeling well. Honestly what Takuto had done to her and her sisters was hardly different.

“I can’t believe that happened to you…I’m sorry I wasn’t there…”, Kourin said.

“There’s nothing you could have done, my lady. None of you were in the position to do anything. The only reason the Celestial Digimon even knew this was because of an ancient text they found after rebooting the Digital World. They didn’t know about you until it was over.”, Crusadermon replied.

“I see…”, Kourin replied, sadly and Crusadermon looked over to her.

“You may have been unable to do anything then, but you did save me.”, Crusadermon revealed.

“What?!”, Kourin questioned.

“After Lucemon had gotten all the use he could out of Dynasmon and Crusadermon he killed them then absorbed their data.”, Seraphimon explained.

Aichi and Kourin instantly felt anger boil up inside them. The dark red aura of Link Joker briefly appeared around both of them. Aichi looked over to Dynasmon and Kourin to Crusadermon. Dynasmon finally saw the tears in Aichi’s eyes. His tamer both felt the same feeling of something being stolen from them. Aichi got closer to Dynasmon.

“The current group of Digidestined defeated Lucemon as after he crossed over into the human world. Since the human world is not apart of the Digital World Digimon that die there aren’t reborn however a miracle happened.”, Seraphimon explained.

Suddenly he created an image drawing their attention. It was of their world Aichi and Kourin froze as the day came back to them.

Aichi was in his gray Histue uniform walking home from school. However, suddenly he felt something capture his attention. His Psyqualia flashed in his eyes as he was hit with a strong sense of nostalgia. Without thinking he rushed over to the source of the feeling. Aichi’s Psyqualia seemed to have locked onto the oddly familiar energy he felt.

“That was my Psyqualia back then…so I must have had it longer than I thought. Have I always had it, but never noticed until I lost control?”. Aichi thought.

He stopped when he looked over to see a visible bit of data flickering. Aichi rubbed his eyes to make sure this was no hallucination. Similarly Kourin had found herself rushing out leaving her confused sisters and stood before a similar visible bit of data.

“Right…it was more like a faint feeling then. That’s I never noticed anything strange about myself.”, Aichi thought.

He felt strange then as he bent down to the data. He didn’t know why, but he felt like he had to do something. The whole experience made him feel a massive wave of deja vu. Aichi’s eyes lit up briefly and the data was enveloped with light. Kourin touched the data which did the same. Afterwards the data suddenly vanished and they were left confused at what just happened.

“And nearly 2000 for us.”, Cherubimon snickered.

“Through your connection as partners you were able to send Dynasmon and Crusadermon’s data back to the Digital World making revival possible for them again. Not only them, but the other six partners. Their data was separated when the two of them were reborn allowing the six who perished to come back.”, Seraphimon explained.

“So, that was Crusadermon then…? I always wondered about that.”, Kourin said.

“Aichi.”, Dynasmon said, drawing their attention.

“I’m sorry…”, Aichi murmured.

“Huh? What are you talking about? That means the one that saved my data was you.”, Dynasmon questioned.

“I’m sorry…I forgot about you.”, Aichi murmured quietly, taking Dynasmon aback.

“Were you not listening to Seraphimon? Your memories were wiped!”, Dynasmon replied.

“B-but I…feel like I lost something important to me and never noticed.”, Aichi replied, sadly.

“Aichi, it was the same for me. I forgot about all of you.”, Kourin assured.

“You really shouldn’t beat yourself up about it too much, Aichi. I only started to even suspect I forgot something after meeting Alpha-Chan again.”, Ren added.

“Even if you lost your old memories you can still make new ones with Dynasmon.”, Olivier assured with a kind smile.

Dynasmon didn’t know what to say. He was now faced with the reality that everything he’d known was a lie. His master wasn’t Lucemon…the one he’d been fighting for was Aichi all along. He remembered the feeling he had when they were forced to part. He wanted nothing more than to be reunited with Aichi.

Cherubimon looked away huffing.

“Seraphimon and Ophanimon decided to hold onto Dynasmon and Crusadermon’s data till we were sure it was safe for them to return. Seraphimon believed with their human partners returned they would be able to change.”, Cherubimon explained.

Dynasmon looked down, unable to believe what he’d forgotten. So much time passed he forgot Aichi even existed, only focusing on the goal he always remembered striving towards, going to the human world. He looked down at his hands, trembling. He gripped his fist tightly, meeting Aichi’s gaze again.

“He was right, Dynasmon has changed.”, Aichi said, stunning Dynasmon.

“How can you say that with how often we disagree on basic morality? Do you have any idea how many Digimon I killed under Lucemon?”, Dynasmon questioned.

“I can just feel it. Even if you did horrible stuff in the past, you're trying to do good now in the present. That’s all that matters. Heh…I’m not exactly one to judge. I’m not perfect either.”, Aichi replied as Dynasmon trembled.

Without saying anything Dynasmon pulled Aichi into a warm embrace surprising the teen. A bright smile graced Aichi’s lips as he hugged back. The wyvern knight held him in his arms like he was the most precious thing in the universe.

In the human world…

A boy with messy brown hair and brown eyes yawned. He was in red pajamas scratching his butt as he got milk.

“You are so lazy, brother. It’s already 6:00.”, a younger, similar looking boy said.

“W-what?! I knew I should’ve stayed up gaming with Tommy…”, the boy said as he rubbed his head.

The Tv suddenly changed to the emergency news.

“A massive lizard-like animal was seen outside Jiyuugaoka Station. It is heavily advised to stay indoors as local law enforcement deals with the animal.”, the news anchor said as the boy in pajamas dropped his cup gaping.

“Takuya!”, he heard a female voice cry out angrily.

“That’s no lizard! That’s a Digimon!”, the boy, Takuya said as he got close to the Tv which showed Greymon (Blue).

At the Demon Lords castle…

“We will set out to the human world and trap the original Digidestined here. Once it’s conquered we can deal with him.”, Daemon said.

“Finally some action! Hopefully those humans can put up a good fight.”, Beezlemon said.

“With all the Trailmon eliminated there should be no way for them to return. Heh, if we don’t see them in the human world after a few days we’ll know they perished of old age.”, Barbamon said.

“Hah! Human life really is quite fleeting isn’t it?”, Gatomon replied.
