#renew ducktales
Text
Idk if this has been said before because I'm real late to the party here but I just realized Phinease and Ferb getting renewed is really good news for other Disney shows that got cancelled! Like if the new episodes of PnF are well recieved, they might consider renewing some other shows to! We could get WANDER OVER YONDER back!!! We could get DUCKTALES back!!! Tbh I don't think TOH will get any sort of extension because A: it was a really story driven show and the main plot got wrapped up pretty well in the finale and B: Dana Terrace is no longer in contact with Disney. I wish that wasn't the case, but sadly I don't think new episodes are in our future. Anyways WE COULD GET WANDER OVER YONDER BACK!!!!!!!!!!
Edit: Okay the comments have made me realize that I greatly misinterpreted the way companies think. I was applying my normal human logic of "thing works = do thing again" but that is a MASSIVE simlification of all that goes into that kind of decision. It'd still be nice if we got Wander back though :)

tbh like the more i think about webby and scrooge's relationship in the original series, the more i wish the reboot didnt have the twist at the end of him being her technical dad because i feel like their relationship in ducktales 1987 was closer than their relationship in the reboot, regardless of them not being related
Scrooge was always her 'uncle scrooge' and she was always his 'webby darling', she was just as loved as the triplets, and like idk man their relationship was soft in a way i don't think the reboot captured
i know the reboot was going for a different kind of relationship but i don't like that the way they brought webby and scrooge closer was making them related

I remember the first time, now years ago (which is weird to think about), when I ran into your work in the DT fandom. It was the fic Blue on Blue, and it really changed something inside of me I'll be honest. That examination of seeing abuse when you (as a person aren't familiar with it) and you haven't experienced it, but still seeing it's effects and trying to help. It was really powerful. As for a question, what fandom do you think you put in the most to get the least out?
Mannnn I miss writing Webby-voice. Like, everything I've done since feels like such a downgrade because Webby has such a fun, unique voice. It was a lot of fun to play with.
(I NEED to get into doing some Kalim POV stuff because certified Ray of Sunshine characters waxing poetic about their grumpy partners is such a fucking vibe, I love it. I love when a character easily finds something to love in the jaded, walled off character, despite their best efforts to not let anybody in. Get loved, idiot!!)
Hmmmm I'm not sure what you mean by this question. DuckTales fandom definitely had its unique challenges but I still think I got a lot out of it. Some people were really terrible to me but I made some great, enduring friendships there, and it got me writing fanfic seriously, a thing I'm still doing occasionally, against all odds.
Fandoms that I really wanted to invest in but didn't really pay out? Probably Infinity Train. There was like an established community of antis permeating the whole thing who were really into gatekeeping Min and Ryan from female fans, or being weird and combative about Lake's gender and sexuality (there were JessLake antis?? Why???) and made a big fuss about people writing kind of bizarre but ultimately harmless fic, and I reached a point where I was just like, okay I'm out. I'd written the fic I wanted to write, I said the stuff I wanted to say, the show wasn't getting renewed and we were all feeling shitty and hopeless about it, so I just closed up shop and moved onto the next thing. The fic is okay, I think. People have told me it meant a lot to them, but I don't think it's my best work.
Vtuber fandom is kind of a bust, too, but to be honest I didn't try very hard. I just can't fixate on real people like that. They're great guys and I love them a lot as much as I am capable but idol/celebrity worship has always kind of wigged me out so I am for the most part a lurker who wrote one fic I don't even like to talk about in mixed company and then receded into the hedges to leave occasional fanart in Hakka's tags.

You getting concerned on if Molly McGee will get a season 3? I know Disney has stopped doing the renewal before current season begins thing this year with Hamster & Gretel season 2 and Kiff season 2 being announced after they premiered, but considering how deep Molly McGee is in season 2 with 13 out of 20 episodes out with no season 3 announcement, it's getting concerning.
Not really as I haven't watched season 2 yet, so aside from reading recaps, I haven't kept up. And yeah that sounds like it's almost over. The good news is given how these creators are we will probably at least get something of a finale, likely wrapping up the Chens story arc. That said i'm not sure if we'll get a resolution to Scratch's past, as that feels like something they've been building a lot slower in the background, with only two episodes about it. So it is sad the show's getting cut short as it's very clear their not close to done yet and it is very sad this is one of the first disney shows in the past 5 or 6 years to not go past two seasons (owl house got cut off at the knees but at least it got a movie length finale. ). It will never not suck for a show to get canceled when it's clear it has way more to say and way more to do.
I mean they JUST revealed Andrea is gay and started her on an arc of finding herself after the store closed, we have whatever happens to the Chens AFTER this season, Scratch's past... while i'm confident they won't end on a cliffhanger since the crew tied up whatever they could last time, I'm convinced if it does end here as it likely seems to there will be a LOT more they could've done. And unlike say Ducktales where they didn't know for sure but made the season a climax just in case and shows like OK KO or Bojack where they went into the last season knowing this was it, it's clear even if season 2 ends on a good, solid note, it wasn't meant to be the final one.

When you crossed the bridge from Vancouver, WA into Portland, OR (or technically, Janzen Beach) there used to be a restaurant called Waddle’s.
Waddles Restaurant was opened in 1945 by Gene and Nathan Waddle. A family-style restaurant, it served delicious meals for 60 years. In the early days of the landmark flagship location Waddles Restaurant was known as Waddle's Coffee Shop and offered drive-in-style food service. It closed in 2004 after the owners were unable to renew their lease.
My recollection is that it was closer to Sambo’s than Denny’s in the dining spectrum. It did have a successor, DuckTales Kitchen, across the river, which closed in September of last year due to COVID. The button is mine from the late 1970s and I also have a hat from there.

After Waddle’s closed in 2004 the building became a Hooters(!) and they maintained the clock on their sign, and in the recent past Hooters has rebranded it the Oregon Owl’s Nest to make it less mammocentric.

I'm trying to get into a routine of writing and drawing. My old passion for Ducktales was renewed once the art book had been released, and I am loving the art and the commentary in it. I wished it had more info on what didn't make it in the show. That stuff would have been gold.
Edit: I forgot to write what I really wanted to write. The artbook talked about the specific style of DT17, and I was like, I'm drawing ducks all wrong because I just got into bad habits and laziness with their beaks, so I'm trying harder to imitate their style better.

this is old news but i am so glad paget brewster accidentally exposed the lies of the ducktales crew (mostly frank angones and matt whateverberg). they lied so much about the finale being “planned from the start” and that they “”knew”” that season 3 was their last season. continuinally said it wasn’t cancelled to everyone on twitter, but i always knew better. it basically was cancelled bc they weren’t renewed for a season 4, idk why they are so butt-hurt to admit it. i love my ducks, but ducktales genuinely left me so bitter because of everything (rushed ending, so many loose ends, bloated cast, events happening off-screen having to rely on word of god for way too many important events, and so much more). i don’t trust those men and i hope their egos were bruised from this news being released. ducktales was so great, but they fumbled the bag so much that i don’t even want to rewatch it anymore. thank god duck fans have comics and 86 years worth of donald duck content to enjoy.

I know I keep begging for someone to save The Owl House, to get it renewed, but I care about the show so much. I fell for it so hard, so fast. From the first episode, I knew we had something special. I was so excited about it, I started learning to copy Luz's glyphs because I thought that was so creative for a magic system.
It's been really hard. Losing Infinity Train, then losing DuckTales, and now The Owl House after the three specials air. That's three great cartoons gone in the last two, maybe three years. And the way The Owl House is going out, the way it was sabotaged from telling the story it wanted to tell at the pace it wanted, just makes it sting extra hard.
I've lost two fantastic shows already. I just can't lose The Owl House too.

Alright but when the show ends and if the Darkwing Reboot has nothing to do with this continuity, that would mean the series will end with Drake and Launchpad believing Jim is dead for real.
