Yang: *asking Blake while propping her head in her hands* “KitKat, would you still love me if I was a worm?”

Blake: “Of course I would, Yang!”

*Ruby looks over to Weiss who is silent*

Ruby: “Well?”

Weiss: “Well, what?”

Ruby: “Aren’t you going to ask me if I would still love you if you were a worm?”

Weiss: *lifts her head up to look at her partner with a blank stare and looks back down* “I already know it’s hard to love me as is, why would I ask if you would love me as a worm?”

Ruby: *hits her hands on the table, stands up, and exclaims* “Because I would still love you as a worm or anything else!”

*Weiss stares wide-eyed with shock “Really?” she asked and when Ruby nodded her face slowly softens to a warm expression*

Weiss: “Thank you! I love you the very same.” *looks away as she confesses with a hopeful look*

Nora: *watches the exchange between Team RWBY, then turns to her partner* "Renny--?"

Ren: *exhales* "Yes, I'll love you as a worm, as well, Nora."

Nora: *gushes* "Aww, I'll love you as a wiggly worm too, Ren."

Jaune: *lying down, a few feet from the couples* "...I wished someone loved me as a worm."

4. Nobody talked about how traveling the continents really messed with your immune system. Switching from low altitude to high, and back again. Switching climates. Encountering an arctic tundra for the first time. Truly, somebody should’ve warned Nora it would mess with her immunity system before she caught a cold. Fortunately, Atlas Academy had the best doctors around. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make her nose stop running, her throat stop hurting, or her cough to stop coughing without her resting up. And that’s how she ended up getting all of her huntsmen assignments reassigned to others - much to her chagrin. She paced around the small room they gave her in the medical wing. It was basically like her own mini apartment.

While catching a cold was rare with everybody’s aura making them less likely to get sick, it wasn’t impossible. They still took precautions to keep the others well. She was going stir crazy - and she was lonely. She’d never really been alone. She’d always had Ren. She looked out at the window as people lived their lives in Atlas. She wished she could be out there with her team. But she knew she wouldn’t be of any help to anyone if she didn’t feel better. She threw herself into the room’s recliner and harrumphed.

A knock on the door.

“Come in,” she warbled, voice straining with the effort not to cough. Ren and Jaune poked their heads in. “Knock knock,” said Jaune. “We came to check on our favorite patient!” She grinned and jumped up. “Hey guys!” Promptly, she began to feel dizzy and launched into a coughing fit. The guys’ eyes widened as they shared a glance and rushed over to her. “No, no, don’t worry about me, I’m fine,” she rasped. “You both should go, I don’t want to get you sick.” Jaune rolled his eyes. “Honestly, I could use the break from all the parents,” he huffed. “I even brought you a casserole, they’ve given me so many.” Nora finally noticed the dish in his hands. Her eyes softened. “Thank you, Jaune.”

“You should rest,” Ren said briskly. “But that’s all I’ve been doing,” Nora whined. “Nora, you know we love you. We just want you to feel better,” Jaune said. Nora cut her eyes to Ren. He was pointedly looking out the window. She sighed. “Fine. Will you put the casserole in the fridge for me?” She asked, pointing towards the small kitchenette. Jaune promptly did as she asked, and Nora climbed into bed. “Noooo, I forgot my water,” she whined, straining towards the table by the recliner. Ren jumped into action, afraid she’d fall out of the bed since she was hanging off the side of it. Usual Nora - couldn’t do things normally. She always had her own way of doing things. “I’ve got it,” he said, setting it on the nightstand. She flopped back into bed with a sniff, attempting to clear her nose. “Thank you.”

Her hand flailed wildly to the nightstand, almost knocking over the water he had just rescued. “What do you need?” Ren asked. “I’m trying to find my medicine… I thought it was over here…” she said, feeling her way across the nightstand. Jaune smiled at his favorite people’s usual antics. Ren with his “Nora Grin,” as Nora told him she called it. Nora being… well, Nora. Jaune made his way over to the bed and sat down gently. “I found some medicine in the kitchen,” he said, handing it to Ren. Ren followed suit and sat down on Nora’s other side. He shook out a tablet and held it out to Nora. “Here you go.” She shook her head. “No, I don’t want it. It tastes bad.” Ren sighed. “Nora, you have to take it to feel better.” Nora rolled over to Jaune’s side of the bed. “You can’t make me!” She squealed. Jaune stroked Nora’s head. “You’re ridiculous.” She stuck her tongue out at him. “And you’re burning up.” Her tongue went back in.

Ren put his hand on her back. “Please,” he said. It was a wonder how that simple word, along with his touch, undid her. She sat up. “Fine. If I take my medicine, you have to stay and visit.” She croaked. “That is a deal I will happily make,” Ren said seriously, sticking out his hand. They shook on it. And promptly burst into laughter. Which caused Nora to have a coughing fit. “I’m fine, I’m fine, promise.” She said, right before taking her medicine.

Jaune looked at his best friends - the concern in Ren’s eyes for Nora, even if he was trying to hide it, and Nora, seeming a little dimmer than usual. “I think it’s time for me to head out.” He said. “But you promised to stay and visit if I took my medicine!” Nora pouted. “I never made such a promise - Ren did.” Jaune grinned. Somehow, it seemed like Nora pouted even more, and burrito-ed herself in her blankets. “It’s fine. I’m not hurt that you don’t wanna hang out with me.” Jaune rolled his eyes. “You know I do. But you also know as your leader I have things to do - and if you two hang out, I’ve gotta go pick up all the slack,” he responded dramatically, draping himself along Nora’s burrito-ed body. She giggled. “Fine Jaune. You’re dismissed. This time.” “Thank you,” he said, dramatically kissing her forehead. “Ah! Fever’s already going down.” This led to another giggle-cough fest by Nora. “Get out of here before you seriously injure her,” Ren grinned.

With Jaune gone, Nora unwrapped her burritoed blankets and scooched over to make more room for Ren. “Get comfy,” she said, dragging him over and throwing the blankets over him as well, forcing him to lay down. He complied, moving further onto the bed, but still felt stiff. Their communication hadn’t been great recently, and he knew that was partially on him. He wasn’t sure how to act around her right now. Nora, on the other hand, was feeling great. She was beginning to feel that cold-medicine-high, so she did what only seemed rational - she laid her head on his chest, followed by a hand. She could feel his heartbeat - did it… seem to speed up for a moment?

Reflexively, Ren wrapped his arm around her waist. How many nights had they slept like this throughout the years? Whether they started out in that position or not, whenever they shared a bed they almost always ended up wrapped up in each other by morning. But somehow, this time felt different. It wasn’t just to keep warm or take up less space. It meant something.

“I missed you, Ren,” she sighed, half asleep. He looked down at her. She seemed at peace for the first time in a while. “I’ve missed you too, Nora,” he replied. “I lo-” Nora started. “Nope, no chatting. We can do that later. Only rest right now. I need you to get better.” Ren said, unknowingly bringing her body closer to him. There was that feeling again - that feeling of electricity moving through Nora’s body. Except... there was no electricity. Why did it feel like her semblance was lighting her up, from her head to her toes?

Nora was too exhausted to try to parse through Ren’s words, or this feeling. She simply raised her hand in the general vicinity of his face - “Boop!” she announced, thwacking him in the face with her pointer finger. Ren smiled and closed his eyes. They both slept better that afternoon than they had in weeks.

Jaune stared his only guy friend as he stared right by at the blonde as if to say" You didn't mishear me." But... it was a really odd thing for someone like Ren to say.

Jaune:.... What?

Ren:Two girlfriends like Nora and Penny can by a nightmare. Nora is a handful, but I can outlast her, as surprising as that sound. But penny.... she just doesn't seem to get tired."

Jaune couldn't help but winch, having Ruby as a girlfriend he could relate slightly but thankful his semblance counter her perfectly.

Jaune: Oh man, you poor soul.

Ren:... Can we trade semblance? That might help."

Jaune felt a pang of fear in his heart at the idea of dealing with Ruby without his semblance and shook his head.

Jaune:I would. But....

Ren:Ruby?

Jaune:Ruby.

Ren:Mm. Didn't hurt to ask. Even though it's impossible.

Jaune:Yeah.

Ren:I gotta go. But before I do. Penny is probably pregnant and you and Ruby are the godparents. See ya.

Ren quickly walk off before Jaune could even say anything leaving him in a daze as the info the ninja had dropped process. Jaune began to smile widely, thinking excited Ruby would be hearing the news before a look of utter bewilderment replaced it.

Kuroyuri Never Fell AU - Renora Week 2022

Li and An Ren watched as their son, Lie Ren, mostly called Ren by his friends. Stood up front as he got ready for the Coming of Age festival. "You've grown so much, Lie. That yukata I wore when your mother and I first met." Li said to him.

Ren stood firmly, trying his best not to express much. Wearing a green yukata his father wore in his coming of age time.

"It is the time I have to be the man I was meant to be, Father. I thank you and Mother for this moment." Ren said. Bowing to his parents, it was his ways to greet them, or to thank them, even if this isn't necessary to them.

The coming of age festival in Kuroyuri was the day in Anima where anybody who turned 17, were considered a young man or woman. Exploring market places. Best of all, meeting a person of their own destiny.

His mother walked over to Ren and gives him a warm embrace. "You'll always be our little boy. But we are very proud of you. Once you get out there to enjoy the festival. You might be able to meet someone." An said, thinking her son might have to chance to find love after all the training Li had him for.

"Mother, we talked about this. It's too fast to find someone. But if I do, just promise me you and father would let me take things slow." Ren gently said to his mother. An nodded, too excited that it felt like it was yesterday to see her son young again.

Li then places a hand on his shoulder and gave his son a smile. "Taking action may be necessary, but sometimes you need to enjoy life. Go out there and have fun. You deserve it, Lie." Ren nodded and gave his father a hug. Though his father was more serious, he returns this embrace.

As Ren walked out of the house with his parents watching remaining in the house. Ren had silent thoughts about what he should do by the time he went to Beacon.

His parents, and Kuroyuri, it was everything to him. But was it okay for him to enjoy life, even if it never last? Of course, Ren cannot seem to take those thoughts of. Then he bumped into someone. A girl, who accidently dropped her floral accessories.

"I'm sorry. I didn't see you there!" The girl apologized. But Ren remained silent and just picked up the pin the girl dropped. He looked at her and smiled. When he looked at her, she has short hair and pink kimono, and cyan eyes. A bit cute. But something in her aura shines bright.

He then places the accessories back onto the side of her hair. "Please, don't apologize. I wasn't watching where I was going." Ren admits.

"Nah, it's okay. You're heading for the festival as well?" Asked the girl. "I like your yukata." She said.

"Thanks, it was a gift from my father. Yours is very nice as well." Said Ren. The girl blushed. Then giggled.

"Your too cute! I mean, the way you smile!"

"Um...thank?" Ren said nervously.

"I'm Nora Valkyrie." Nora held out her hand. Then Ren grasped onto her hand and shakes it. "Lie Ren. But you can simply call me Ren." Said Ren.

"Mind if I join you for the rest of the festival?" Asked Nora. Ren felt the nostalgia on her eyes as she asked this. He could tell Nora does not have any friends. But knew she could use one. And he will be her friend of it means to feel his life fulfilled for who knows what will come next. As his father had said, sometimes anyone has to enjoy life.

"Of course." Ren said. Nora got excited and grabbed his hand. To which Ren does not seem to mind. And the two bought candy apples. Then came across a blonde young man, the feeling as if they were in a parallel universe. He also has blue eyes, then there is a red-haired girl next to him, holding hands.

He wasn't sure why the girl also felt familiar to him, as if he woke up from a dream. Whoever she is, he decided to get to know her more.

So… I went and wrote a RWBY fan fiction on Wattpad and been posting chapters for it on a weekly basis. It’s my first attempt at writing a fanfic. If anyone is interested and wants to give it a read, I’d greatly appreciate it.

It’s set in post series, so after Salem is defeated and Remnant has been saved. And Blake & Yang, now married, want to start a family.

The canon ships in this are BlakeXYang (obviously), RenXNora and RubyXOscar.

Something I’ve seen floated as a bash numerous times:

“BB is written by 2 straight white men”

I frankly don’t give a single shit about the creatives gender, sex, or identity. Just the story they present not being fanservice or harmful stereotypes; and the relationship being legit. Although it does deserve mentioning that not only is Miles NOT white, he’s half-white and half-hispanic, but that the writers currently include Eddy who isn’t white and Kiersi who is a bi woman.

What the writers of RWBY have done:

- Presented a grounded/realistic journey of discovery for two women. Not some sugary world of gay or any world of gay to be clear; but one where there were hetero options and they felt like legit ones not just tokens thrown in to push against the “world of gay” idea.

- Presented an actual bi character, instead of a lesbian with a bi sticker slapped on

- Presented a slowburn that put time into building the relationship up. No trying to over-do things or put a spotlight on them. They were just a relationship developing like any other. Which is a big plus, for me. So many rush into their LGBT+ currently cause they’re aiming for an LGBT+ specific audience, while RWBY chose to aim generally. If anything this is a plus for the writers being straight, cause they aren’t over-doing it. It isn’t “GAY GAY GAY ALL THE TIME GAY!”, but grounded and realistic like a typical story. To try to present an example: RWBY is a shounen/seinen-adjacent w/ LGBT+ mains vs. a shoujo-ai/yuri where everything is about the gay story. BB is an element within the story, not the entire story or even a central pillar of the story. That makes it that much more special and real for being non-fairy fantasy type, one of many reasons BB carries far more weight than some others that I’ve run across. Blake and Yang are characters that have gone on a whole ass journey with multiple arcs together and not... that happen to be LGBT+.

- Never fanserviced the characters in general but also not together, nor going into the future will. There’s not going to be sex scenes between the two or over-the-top things between the two, because they don’t do that. Even Renora never did that sort of thing, only more grounded things. Like Blake gently grabbing Yang’s arm (like her mom does for her dad) to calm her or supporting her (which is something Yang definitely needs), even Blake’s flirty and cheery original self coming out is part of that. Because the show doesn’t do fanservice

- Presented all of this in a world where that isn’t sunshine and rainbows. Deaths do happen, grimm exist, Salem exists, danger exists, and there’s no real “sugar” to it.

The writers did all of this as well as showing respect for their female characters allowing them to be badasses and complex, regardless of whatever their labels are. In fact the way they did things in their writing actually is MORE appealing to me than other LGBT+ written/created shows, because of it being more general audience and less over-the-top gay-focused. Its the difference of a shipper writing fanfic and a writer just writing a general story; there’s a clear difference in the two. Blake and Yang feel REAL. Also pretty sure the guy in charge of Warrior Nun is also a straight dude and that show is just as awesome with its just as grounded wlw pairing that hits a special spot for me.

You can damn well be sure that they’d never give this kind of lip to Ren/Nora or Jaune/Pyrrha.

It’s a frustrating combination of people being obsessed with the idea that romance is only romance when a kiss is involved, despite romance being far more complex and nuanced than that, and the simple fact that queer relationships are held up to a ridiculous standard that they can always move the goalposts around to ensure that they can always be “holier than thou” for any number of arbitrary reasons.

Nobody ever questions if Ren and Nora love each other. Nobody questions if Jaune and Pyrrha loved each other.

And frankly more often than not the only queer relationships these people “accept” are the ones that are either out of the way, where the people are dead, or only in fanfics where they can rationalize that it doesn’t influence THEIR canon. That it’s just a fantasy and that the world is as heteronormative as it “SHOULD” be.

But the minute anything doesn’t fit in those categories? When they have to canonically acknowledge that queer people are important and exist ins pure of their bigotry? They lose it hard. They get all passive aggressive or openly aggressive. They become judge, jury and executioner of all that is the “right way” to be queer.

As an asexual lesbian I find the idea that a kiss is the ONLY way to show love very offensive. Blake & Yang are just so, so soft around each other, the gentle touches, the loving looks tells me everything I need to know about their relationship.

While I'm sure they will kiss, it has to be the right time. It wasn't for either Arkos or Renora whose first kisses were harbingers of disaster.

I want their first kiss to be more than that. I want it to be pure happiness.

I'm so happy that this show trusts us enough to see what's actually going on rather than taking the lazy route. I think what's going on between them is just so beautiful and sweet.

What your most hated RWBY ship says about you

Whiterose: You don’t hate the idea of these two getting together so much as you hate the way most of the fandom flanderizes them to make the ship fit anime tropes. If you see one more fanfic that features a tsunderrific Weiss verbally abusing a childish Ruby you are going to lose your shit.

Bumbleby: You get your RWBY fandom news exclusively from Reddit. You are the person still claiming to be harassed by aggressive Bees shippers in the year 2022. There’s a 93% likelihood you think Bumbleby is only canon because Miles and Kerry were bullied into it.

Arkos: You are a Jaune hater and proud of it, and anything involving him is guilty by association. You think V3′s writing did Pyrrha dirty and will go to your grave claiming that she was fridged.

Renora: You didn’t have strong feelings about this ship until V7-8, but you HATED the way it was handled in those two volumes. You think Ren is insufferable and that the show spent too long developing his character while not giving Nora any chance to grow on her own.

Blacksun: You think Sun is creepy, immature, stupid, or all three, and hate that the fandom portrays him as a fun-loving golden retriever himbo when he’s clearly a stalker douchebag who can’t take a hint. 

Rosegarden: You feel like the only one who remembers that there’s an immortal old man riding shotgun in Oscar’s head at all times. You see the ship gaining in popularity and the woobified Oscar portrayals popping up everywhere and you just want to scream.

White Knight: You’re also a committed Jaune hater, and you have no interest in changing your opinion of him regardless of what happens in the show. It’s nearly guaranteed that you headcanon Weiss as a lesbian.

Monochrome: You thought the show was WAY too quick to move past Weiss’s racism in Volume 1 and still haven’t really gotten over it. Alternatively, you think the whole “catgirl racism” plotline is stupid and don’t understand why people try to fit these two into some kind of Romeo and Juliet dynamic. Either way, you have Opinions about the White Fang.

Lancaster: You have no idea why heterosexuals have to take every wholesome, platonic male-female friendship and turn it into some kind of romance subplot. Ruby and Jaune are friends and that is all. Also, you think Ruby is a lesbian.

Nuts and Dolts: You don’t actually hate this ship, because it’s nearly impossible to hate. What you do hate is the way CRWBY handled nearly everything involving Penny and her character arc. Rooster Teeth is on your shit list.

This started as a rough idea during/after the initial attempt at Renora week.

It starts off a bit more abstract and gets more fic-like as each occurrence takes on. So Time #1 is pretty brief. Basically, I just wasn't sure how to write about them pre-Beacon, lol.

I'll be posting each occurrence as a different chapter because I. Don't actually have Time #5 finished. But I wanted to have something posted for Renora Week Day 2: Boop!

1. Childhood - shortly after they found each other. Nora loved Ren as a friend but knew how he hid his feelings - both figuratively and literally. And Nora didn’t want to make him uncomfortable, so she kept her big emotions pretty hidden away. One day, Ren injured himself (something minor, like a scrape or twisted ankle) but was obviously in pain. (He hadn’t mastered his aura yet.) She wanted to comfort him but wasn’t sure how. Instead, she kneeled down next to him and booped his nose for the first time. It made him laugh one of his rare, actual laughs. She wasn’t sure she’d heard one from him since they met. She knew she wanted to hear it again. He’d saved her life - the least she could do was make him laugh every now and again.

This is just a lil something else:

I gotta say the animation and shots for this movie are awesome, like casually talking everyone has great fluidness and physics, and as "rwbyed" as JL's costumes are they move well for a RWBY episode. I mean it's nothing like V9 but it's more than on par with V8 or v7. At 54:15 as Weiss and Bruce fight the Grimm and the bees and wonder woman show up, Yang's jump punch is amazing and her hair is better than anything we've seen before.

Plus immediately after in the super fun anxiety closet with Jaune and Jessica, the framing as the crumbles from the walls moving in and FX and smoke is great.

Then at 56:07 as yang asks weiss what's going on, her hand (yeah ik it gets explained if you watch the film) on Blake, is amazingly well done, and Dina's little effects are hilarious, the way the animation and blocking shows how the JL adjust to being teens as stupid a plot point as that is, it looks great.

Which is not something I would have thought to say about RWBY 7 or 8 years ago.

As for plot, this obviously is not canon. It's like a really good fanfic and i like it that way, but the ending and the way team RWBY interact make it seem like it fits, near enough into mid V7 likely before the Schnee dinner and just after becoming licensed huntsmen. 

Firstly the way the bees act is how I would expect them to act in order for Blakes flirting to make sense in V9. 

Coming out of the end of V6 Blake knows yang is important to her, i don't think she has love in mind just yet but as we see during v7's bee scenes they care about each other a lot more now, we see this Blake jumping in to be by yang's side and reassuring Yang as she fights in the air with Dianna, things she will do again in the ponder-storm in V9, as she guides yang to the confession of a decade that is 🐝.

Meanwhile yang while coming around to Blake, hasn't latched on just yet, she knows when she's pushing blakes buttons and clearly cares what Blake thinks of her (they haven't confessed so yang still thinks what she thought on the bridge likely worse as well) but she isn't as connected or as longing to be by blakes side, a s Blake is for her.

However, like blakes shy and closed off shadowy character now being ready for joking and even flirting, following Adams death. Yang also feels more relaxed understanding Blake more and being open to a bit more flirtatious activity, but still gets stun locked by wonder woman, cause she doesn't realize yet that what she and Blake has is love.

This all makes sense for the show leading up to this point and what follows in V9

The reason V9 is so open, particularly from Blake, is that she realizes the slow burn she had with yang was taking Yang for granted and falling off the world made her realize that and start going in strong. She is determined to get everything she can out of this relationship and she will never take it for granted again. 

When the ponder storm hits SHE, guides the normally headfirst yang into the confession, while allowing yang to come to her own conclusions (hence i think qualifying from yang only)

Additionally by this point Renora hasn't kissed yet, i mean Nora and Ren have a lot more history, they had all of V4,V5,V6, V7 to get over beacon and start relationships again, compared to the V6 wonder that was the bees getting together again.

Renora in the film sees a third party, unlike the one off remark on wonder woman that number one dark haired ladies simp Yang had, cyborg pushes Ren out of his comfort zone a bit by heading for Nora, ultimately this doesn't lead to anything more than a misunderstanding but it shows that Ren while not making the first move in the kiss, at least knows that he wants to be with Nora, showing that ReNora was paced well for a V7 confirm.

As for Arkos? Well i don't think I need to explain Arkos and its timing. 

And no, I will not talk about WR.

Alright that's it from me on the movie, I'll keep saying some stuff (watched it 7 times now woooo) 

But that's about all there is to it, it looks pretty, it makes the ships make more sense if it were Cannon.

Again I'm not saying it's canon, but this is what I'd expect from V7 Blake and Yang and V7 ReNora if placed in this situation when their characters were at the stage they should be for the kisses to make sense.
