The fact Ashley isn’t even truly bigoted but instead, distrustworthy given the fact that a) humans have only been a part of Council space for JUST the span of her lifetime, it’s still raw and fresh and riddled with tensions, especially between turians and humans, and b) her family got blackballed because of her grandfather’s surrender so of course she’s a bit bitter about the whole ordeal, and c) literally the normandy is the most high tech ship, and allowing non-Alliance personnel onto it seems suspicious of her CO.

Shoto isn’t the most outgoing or social person. You were most probably a part of the dekusquad and were around him a lot.
