When someone who is suffering says, “I’m fine, I’m fine,” it is not because she is fine, it is because her inner self told her outer self to say the words “I am fine.” Sometimes she will even slip and say, “We’re fine.” Others assume she’s referring to herself and her people, but she is not. She is referring to both of her selves: her hurt self and her representative, the one fit for public consumption. Pain transforms one woman into two so that she has someone to walk with, someone to sit with her in the dark when everyone else leaves. I am not alone. I have my hurt self, but I also have this representative of me. She will continue on. Maybe I can permanently hide my hurt self and send our rep out into the world and she can smile and wave and carry on as if this never happened. We can breathe when we get home. In public, we will just pretend forever.

New headcanon based on @riddlersboyfriend fic: The reason the Continuum lets Q continue to be Humanitys Judge is because Q does not really care at all about Humanity itself and him helping Picard is mostly about Picard and nothing else.

Why, what's changed? Those who embrace and nurture their need for firearms are probably blaming people like me... guilty as charged. I have long held that people with guns kill people. Cockamamie, I know.

If the god-given right to feel better about yourself through ownership of firearms is so important to you, what's changed?

The slaughter of innocence will continue unabated. Because not only has my opinion on the subject remained the same for as long as I can remember, I foresee no change. No wiggle room. And I foresee no change in you.

To varying degrees, we are all collateral damage resulting from this debate. Guns kill people. The republic style of government represents our consensus. We as a nation, need to kill people. No exceptions. This is our decision. We need guns. Guns kill people. People will be killed. We the people retain such rights and responsibility. We kill people.

As much as we suffer degrees of consequences, we retain responsibility resulting.
