For the ask game, 8, 19, 20, 37 and 42 w/ JGY?
8. Unpopular opinion about them
Compared to other people who like JGY, I think my most unpopular opinion is that I like him much more in the drama than in the novel--though that's not about JGY as much as how I simply do not vibe with the novel generally.
To get even more niche, my unpopular opinion is that I hate the getalong coffin so so so much in the novel... but would LOVE the getalong coffin in the drama. The novel Nieyao dynamic does not appeal to me at allllll because it's so uneven; given how MY only worked for NMJ for like 3 or whatnot months before NMJ sees him kill the captain, NMJ's choice to go I AM GOING TO FIX YOUR BAD MORALS BY YELLING AT YOU (rather than "damn, this guy sucks" and calling it a day) is fucking weird to me. The obsession comes off as one-sided and NMJ holds more power until he is literally dead, so JGY being dragged into a coffin with him feels less Juicy Gothic Horror and more just... icky. In the drama, though? Where they seem to know each other for years before their initial rift, they have that whole angry divorce vibe going, and JGY definitely takes some personal satisfaction in the murder? Now THAT is the Juicy Gothic Horror shit.
19. Vices/bad habits
I assume this is besides the murders and the maladaptive coping mechanisms, so... He drinks WAY too much caffeine. It's good that coffee isn't among the Crops They Shouldn't Have But Somehow Do, because that would be the end of him. He doesn't have a mountain of cups in his room, but that is because he reuses the same teapot and cups over and over without washing it until someone else (QS?) replaces them when he's out.
20. Scars - answered this one just a bit ago!
37. What they really think about themselves
Hhhh. He is not the person he wanted to--wants to--be, to put it mildly. But his elaborate system of compartmentalization prevents him from looking at that too closely and thinking about how things could have gone differently, because the main goal is survival and that won't help.
42. 3 comfort items
-A very worn book of poetry that his mother used to help teach him
-A small cloth pouch, made from the repurposed sleeve of LXC's old outer robe while they were in hiding during Sunshot, kept filled with dried gentian petals
-That silver hair ornament from Qinghe, his first nice-nice accessory (until he shuts it away in a box)

Abridgecard finds Cocaine Bear.
---------
Alucard is getting the hang of the changes in society after rematerializing back into existence. While paying a visit to the Goodwill store Abridged Alucard finds a unique little gem.
---------
Abridgecard: Why are we here? There's a Michael's on the other side of this place.
Persephone: They are closed due to inventory. While it breaks my heart that one of my favorite stores is closed I would be passing up an opportunity to repurpose some old goodwill rags into some real gems. There's nothing better than getting some good fabric for a steal!
Abridgecard: What about Hobby Lobby? Don't they sell fabrics? Or did they stop while I was gone?
Persephone: Oh, no. They still sell fabrics. I'm just checking here first before I go there since I know I'll be there longer.
Abridgecard: Ah!
Persephone: My cousin's art teacher found this expensive blouse for $5. I found some workout pants from Glein Clein for $6 a pair when they'd be worth $50 if I bought them online. And when I am not looking for clothes to wear I find clothes made of good material I can use to make purses, shirts, and pants. I even made my prom dress out of clothes from the Goodwill store in my area.
Abridgecard: *reacts to some of the items at the store as he makes his way to the section with the VHS, DVDs, Blu-rays, and videogame *Can-can girl teapot, Pig Cleaning Lady Cookie Jar, The Muppets plush dolls, Pacman arcade game, pictures, Sophia (Golden Girls) Bust Bank, a hippo Bhuda statue doing yoga, grinning mugs, and a duck wearing a pope hat*
Abridgecard: Oh, Vampire Knight. Of course, they would be in a Goodwill store because no one wants to keep those books any more than their Twilight novels. OH, WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT! It's Twilight! Let's see. We have one. Two. Three copies of Twilight. Four Eclipses. Two Breaking Dawns. And one New Moon. Any me novels? Hey, it's the untitled goose game for the Switch. *Turns around to find a Pacman arcade game* Oh, that's so cool- Aw, it's not working!
Old Lady: The Pacman Game? I wanted it for my laundry mat to entertain my customers but the people that work here say it's not working.
Abridgecard: Wait! Wait! Wait a minute! Why donate it if it's not working?
Old Lady: Decoration, maybe? Someone might want it for their man cave. Or gamer cave. I don't know what gamers call their gaming room these days.
Abridgecard: Huh? What's this? *looks at the case and reads the title* Cocaine Bear? *snickers* Are you fucking real!? Is it about a bear doing drugs? *reads the back* 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh, fuck! This shit sounds hilarious! Oh, shit! I left my wallet at home! *spots Persephone at the checkout counter*
Goodwill Employee: Would you like to make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital?
Persephone: Yes, please.
Goodwill Employee: Oh, you have three DVDs. Is there another one you'd like? It's buy three get one free.
Abridgecard: *slaps the DVD on the counter* I will have this one!
Persephone: 🤭😂😂🤭 (He timed that perfectly.)
Abridgecard: Please do this for me. I left my wallet at home.
Persephone: What did you pick? *looks at the cover* Oh, my goodness!
Abridgecard: *bends over to whisper in her ear* We are watching this tonight.
Persephone: Did you check to see if the disc is *opens the case* Oh! The disc is inside case.
Abridgecard: Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?
Persephone: Sometimes people will donate the case without double-checking if the disc is inside. I learned this the hard way with a Celine Dion album that was missing the CD.
Goodwill Employer: That happens a lot here.
Persephone: Or the case might have the wrong item inside. I bought a copy of a game my friend lost only to find out last minute the case contained a completely different disc inside.
Abridgecard: What was the game?
Persephone: I wanted to get Warriors Orochi for the PS2 for my cousin. But the case contained a Dora game for the Wii.
Abridgecard and Goodwill Employer: Ooooooo!
Goodwill Employer: It wasn't even for the right console!
Abridgecard: You know what. I think some kid might swapped the game out of the case with his sister's and taken off with it.
Goodwill Employer: Oh, that's probably what happened.
Abridgecard: Also, why don't you just double-check the cases before putting them on the shelves?
Goodwill Employer: I don't know, but I guess I could make a habit of it starting now. I'll check once someone takes over my shift.
Abridgecard : Hey, here's an idea. Why don't you just take all the mismatched games and movies, hand them out on April Fools Day, and tell everyone there're mystery boxes?
Persephone: Or you could just sell the cases themselves and sell the games and DVDs separately? But what you could put them in if they don't have a case?
Old Lady: Would you hurry it up? I've been waiting here for fifteen minutes already!
Persephone: Oh, I'm sorry! I'll be done right this instant. *hands over Cocaine Bear to the Goodwill Man* I'll be taking this.
Abridgecard: I also want this. *sets down the pope duck*
Persephone: Oh, it's cute! Did you name him yet? *hands the duck to the cashier and then realizes Alucard could've just warped back home to get his wallet*
As Alucard and Persephone leave the checkout counter, Alucard notices an old woman handing the cashier a DVD called The Diary of an Angry Black Woman with an old black African woman on the cover.
Abridgecard: The Diary of an Angry Black Woman? I wonder who passed off the old lady.
Persephone: Oh, did you see another movie you wanted to watch?
Abridgecard: Nah! Just looking at the stuff the old laundry mat lady bought.
Persephone: You know, I've seen that movie, the sequels, and the plays.
Abridgecard: Really?
Persephone: Oh, yes. My friends and I used to watch them. The first two movies were a big part of our teenage years. They were hilarious, but the scriptwriter Tyler Perry, who also plays Madea the old black woman on the cover, isn't afraid to tackle the touchy issues that an older generation would just try to swipe under the rug.
Abridgecard: Oh!
Persephone: To best describe Madea in a way you would understand, Alucard, if I had to pick a spirit animal for you Madea would be the perfect choice.
Abridgecard: Oh, now I need to see this movie! *pulls out Cocaine Bear* Right after we watch this!
Persephone: Well, the good thing is I already own most of the DVDs. My favorites are Boo 1 & 2, the Christmas Specials, and Madea Goes to Jail.
Abridgecard: Well, I guess it was bound to happen.
Persephone: I just want to give you a heads-up about the Madea movies. Despite what the trailers and covers may imply, the movies also focus on a family member of Madea's or someone she'll meet later on and the challenges they face. Madea can be a bit of a troublemaker and probably should have been locked up a long time ago. But just like a good family elder, she offers guidance when they need it. She's kinda like you.
Abridgecard: Are you saying I should be in jail?
Persephone: I wasn't trying to imply that. But realistically, the inmates wouldn't be safe with you. You would probably be put in solitary confinement.
Abridgecard: That's not nice.
Persephone: I'd come visit you.
Abridgecard: But would you break me out?
Persephone: No.
Abridgecard: Ow!
Persephone: But I could afford it I'd bail you out and I'd visit you until I could.
Abridgecard: And with that, you're forgiven.
Persephone and Alucard spent two hours indulging in their leisure activities. Persephone spent her time examining fabrics and restocking her art supplies, while Alucard followed her around with two garden gnomes. They then had a double movie night where they watched Cocaine Bear and Madea Goes to Jail. While watching the movies, Alucard was reminded of his past experiences of hijacking lifting cranes while performing his crazy antics.

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe
Tumblr media
I'm hosting a doll meet on the Sunday before Halloween. Normally I'd be offering an elaborate Doll-O-Ween party with costume theme and crazy displays, but this year The Gauntlet (Labor Day through Halloween) is very front-heavy and I'm not sure I'll have the energy for a big elaborate party.
But I was putting some of my 1/4 size girls in my cute halloween-themed casual separates and decided that a little Pumpkin Spice goes a long way.
Tumblr media
I have some of these adorable Halloween themed mugs, and a fall tea set with a pumpkin shaped teapot.
Tumblr media
I built a pirate bar for D&D&D, so I'm going to repurpose some of those pieces to build a cafe set.
I'm planning to make pumpkin spiced foods and drinks, and some of those will be done in miniature for the doll scene.
I think it will be fun!

you're so right!! still getting my labcoat on as we speak though
anon, what is it YOU love? i love my bisque dolls and my Precious Moments collection and vintage books and old computers and I love picking things up off the road and finding textures and I love when I go to the thrift store and see a whole collection of things that I'm sure is because someone who loved those things passed away and now those things will be scattered and loved separately, in new homes. i love finding papers with random notes on them that will never mean anything to me. i love collecting mugs and teacups and teapot imagery even though I can't stand the taste of tea or coffee. i love tearing apart old things to make collages, repurposing junk mail into something beautiful. our bodies are collages too, of bone and sinew and genes from our families whom we might love and might hate and usually it's somewhere in between. scars and marks and tattoos collected, some voluntary some not, all new things stuck onto the canvas of our bodies. i love when someone talks for hours about things I have no personal interest in, and I love when someone has an interest that opens my eyes to new beauties in the world. when I was still talking to that friend, the one who loved teeth, I sneakily took pictures of my x-ray during my dentist appointment and sent those pictures to them. i still think about them every six months when I have an appointment and how they saw the beauty in the mundane and grotesque. people who love things change your world. permanently.
what is it you love?

A Cottage Witch and Her Dragon 16
(you can find the rest of this story on A03 here)
Serenity woke up to the sound of heavy rain on her roof. She laid in bed for twenty minutes, enjoying the contrast of the cold air on her face with the warmth under the blankets. Dragon, who was sleeping on the other half of her full size bed, opened one eye to look at her lazily before settling back down. He was always sluggish on cold days.
After reveling in the warmth of her bed for a while, Serenity finally got up and made her way to the kitchen. The fireplace held only a bed of faintly glowing coals. Wind rushed by outside, making the rain outside her window fall at an angle. It was a proper storm today, it would seem.
First Serenity grabbed her enchanted shawl and draped it around her shoulders, securing it with one of her favorite shawl pins, a simple stick with flowers on the end. Next, she set about starting a fire. She was glad she had brought more wood inside last night before going to bed. The lean-to out in her back garden was covered, but the path between the back door and the lean-to was not.
Serenity carefully arranged some kindling in the fireplace, then, with a quick burst of magic, the fire was lit. She waited a few moments for the fire to grow before adding some proper logs. While she could have made a large fire from the get go with magic, it wasn't really necessary, and sometimes she enjoyed doing things the mundane way.
With the fire started, Serenity set about to make tea. As the kettle started to boil, a sleepy Dragon wandered out of the bedroom.
"Why don't you put your sweater on," Serenity suggested to him.
Dragon nodded and trudged to the shelf in the corner where his toys and other belongings were kept. He carefully put on the little royal blue mohair sweater Serenity had made him out of the yarn her friend Lucine had given her. Pulling it snugly down, he let out a happy sigh and laid down in his bed next to the fireplace.
"Do you want tea?" Serenity asked him.
Dragon shook his head, then yawned one of his big yawns that seemed to split his face in half, wrapped his tail around his body and head, and promptly started snoring.
Serenity was enjoying the quiet, the only sounds around her being Dragon snoring, the kettle boiling, the clink of dishes as she prepared her teapot, and the rain outside. It was still a tad chilly, but Serenity didn't mind. Sometimes it's nice to warm up slowly.
Serenity decided it was a day for her favorite tea. Rummaging around her shelves, she found the repurposed jam jar that held the Ceylon tea she saved for special days. It wasn't expensive, but she still found joy in treasuring something so simple.
The kettle went off, and she poured hot water over the leaves in a strainer in her favorite teapot. This teapot was from the potter who sold at the market in the stall across from her. It was plain, a nice teal color, but it was well made and well insulated. If she was planning on spending a morning slowly drinking a pot of tea, this was the teapot to use. It kept her tea warm for an hour and a half or longer while she started her day.
While the tea steeped for a few moments, she went to the ice box and took out the half loaf of banana bread Granny had brought over yesterday. Granny was always trying to feed Serenity, not that Serenity minded. Serenity cut a piece of the bread and returned it to the fridge.
The wind flew by in great, noisy bursts. Rain pattered on the two windows in the front wall of her cottage. Serenity was enjoying the coziness of being inside somewhere warm while it's cold and stormy outside. She poured herself a cup of tea and stared out the window while she sat and ate her banana bread.
Once the tea had cooled down a smidge, she pressed the cup to her lips and took the first sip of the morning. This particular tea was mild, warm and smooth. She felt the warmth blossom inside her as she sipped, further increasing the coziness she felt. The simple joy of drinking her favorite tea overcame her, and she felt herself relax with a sigh. It was like the happiness was sinking into her bones. Sometimes little joys like that are the most important.
Serenity felt quiet and peaceful as she sipped her tea, thinking about this and that. Granny crossed her mind. Serenity would have to bring her some more joint tea soon. Granny insisted on paying for it, but Serenity always sneakily gave her extra. Granny knew full well that she did this, but didn't say anything. A lot went unsaid but still understood between them.
They were close enough that little things like that were a constant. Granny would bring her half of her baked goods. Serenity would discretely replace Granny's super absorbent rags when they got holes in them. She was saving the last of that yarn for these replacements. Granny couldn't stay quiet if suddenly her rags were a different color. Life was many things to Serenity, but this back and forth was a comfortable, enjoyable part of it.
With her hands wrapped around her teacup, her fingers finally started to warm up. The fire was crackling happily now. Serenity poured herself another cup of tea, enjoying the warm steam coming off her cup and the subtle scent of her favorite tea. The usual contentedness she felt about her life welled up strongly, warming her up even more. She was comfortable, safe, warm, and happy. She might not have as much as some people, but she had everything she needed, and good people in her life who could make up for anything she lacked.
The pot of tea gradually emptied. With a content sigh, she set about washing her cup and teapot and disposing of the tea leaves. Warm from the tea and without any particular plans for the day, she looked around her apartment for something to do. Her eyes finally rested on the pile of library books on the table next to her rocking chair. What better way to spend a rainy afternoon than reading a good book?
She selected a book from the pile. There were many types of books she liked, but this one was a science fiction story about a woman who found herself transported through a hole in space-time to a distant planet, where she learned many new things and made many new friends who treated her with respect and kindness. Serenity had read this book before. She liked that there was no plot-central romance. She wasn't sure if she should call herself aromantic or not, but she was definitely not the most romantically inclined. She regarded falling in love as something that might be nice to experience, but she wasn't really interested in it and didn't feel like her life was empty or lacking without it. She had plenty of love in her life. She had her neighbors, and Lucine, and a handful of other friends who loved her. She was happy with that. This was just one more way in which she was content with the life she had.
The wind and rain pelted her windows. Thinking for a moment, she pulled her rocking chair closer to the windows and sat down. The cool air radiating off the glass contrasted with the warmth of the fireplace, and she found herself in a comfortable in-between. She spent a few moments staring out the window, enjoying the sound of the rain.
The red cobblestones of the road were a rich brick red in the wet. Across the street, Mr and Mrs Robert's elegant blue and white curtains were drawn against the cold. A stranger with an umbrella walked by, their boots occasionally splashing in a puddle as they made their way down the street. Serenity took a deep breath and sighed happily.
The hours passed by as she reread her book. Dragon got up at one point and demanded some banana bread, so she got some out of the icebox and put it on his favorite plate, also from the neighborhood potter, and left it on the table for him before settling back down in her chair with a second slice of her own. As she turned the pages, she thought to herself that perhaps, seeing as this was the fourth time she checked this book out from the library, she should go to the bookshop in Valley Commons Square and see if they had a copy. She made a mental note to do that next time she went to market, and continued reading.
Evening came. The clouds lit up purple and orange with the sunset. Serenity lit her oil burning lamp. There were enchanted lamps that ran on magic, but Serenity didn't see any reason to buy one when she had plenty of lamps already. Putting her book down, she brought out a pair of socks she was knitting to surprise Granny for her upcoming birthday, and sat back down next to the window.
Slowly, the sunset faded and the street lamps came on. Valley Commons wasn't a rich neighborhood, but the city still saw to it that they had ample light at night. One by one, the lights came on in her neighbor's houses as well. Serenity thought about how cozy they all must be in their own homes, and felt happy at the thought.
After knitting for an hour, Serenity put down her work, returned the rocking chair to its usual place, and set about making a cup of sleepy tea. Her custom blend included valerian root and catnip, with a little bit of magic added to give it a boost. Steeping her tea in the cup Mr and Mrs Roberts had given her for the winter solstice, she quietly made herself a cheese sandwich and sat down to eat it. Valerian root tea doesn't taste good, but it does the job well. By the time she was finished with her cup and the sandwich, she was starting to feel even more relaxed.
"Come on, Dragon. It's bedtime," she said, breaking the silence for the first time in hours.
Dragon perked up and scampered into the bedroom, hopping up on the bed and waiting patiently for Serenity to change into a nightgown.
Once changed, Serenity laid down and got comfortable. One of these days, when she had the patience and follow through for it, she was going to knit or crochet a wool blanket with ambient warming. But that was a big investment in yarn and time. So for now, she snuggled closer to Dragon, who was a small space heater, and closed her eyes.
As she drifted off to sleep, she thought to herself what a nice day it had been.

Do you think modern Lucien has a lot of plants at his apartment?
absolutely he does, he already had a lot and then when elain moves in and brings all HER potted plants? however, lucien had all his in regular pots. even before they move in, elain starts repotting all his into fun little containers she finds in thrift shops. they’re not even all plant pots. he has a fern in a teapot on his bedroom windowsill. he has several chipped and broken mugs repurposed for smaller plants. they’re growing herbs in old candle jars on the kitchen windowsill. they have those automatic watering things in them all, but it’s their routine every saturday morning before breakfast to gather all the plants together on the dining room table, refill the water dispensers, and put them back. they’re cute like that.

Hello Nice Anonymous person.
The main room in Mimble's home tends towards the cluttered, with various books, arcane items and crockery piled somewhat precariously on every surface. There is always a large teapot on prominent display, but it either gets replaced or changes form between visits. Recent iterations have included a black lacquered Hingan version, a gold and glass Ala Mhigan version and a large novelty version in the shape of a humorous cow.
Fortunately it is quite clean and free from dust, as various neighbours and townspeople pop in to clean on a regular basis. Usually in gratitude for Mimble's willingness to assist with tasks to which he is better suited, such as healing the sick and injured, destroying voidsent, intervening in disputes and, on occasion, babysitting.
There are a range of different teas, some of which may or may not have magical properties, arranged in various tins, bags and pouches on a low shelf near the desk. These give the main room a slightly herbal and warm scent. There is usually a tin of biscuits within easy reach. Mimble's favourite is embossed with the crest of the Sultanate and has "A Gifte From Ul'Dah" printed underneath, although the original contents were consumed long ago.
On the walls are a mixture of maps, mirrors which don't always show the reflection one expects and a number of colourful daubings, presumably produced by small children of his acquaintance, with things like "to unkle mimball" written on them.
On either side of the door are a couple of reasonably large marble statues of lions. Rumour has it that these are statues Mimble's family once "liberated" from the ruins of Amdapor. And that he can imbue them at will with dangerous White Magic in order to unleash them upon intruders, voidsent assassins or people who eat all his chocolate biscuits and leave him with the oat ones (the last rumour being one that he has been working hard to put about himself).
Wondering about some other OC’s front rooms now…
Does @phoebe-of-ivalice keep her knives on display or just her jewellery?
Does @blucifermain have keepsakes from the steppes relating to Dzos, Yols or Mammoths?
Does @spotofmummery have a range of repurposed Allagan nodes for use as doorbells, slow cookers and handwarmers?
Does @pinxli have everything in his front room colibri pink or has anyone dared try to stop him?
Does @scholarlostintime have the obligatory student piles of coffee mugs with increasingly festering contents he’s been too focussed on studying to notice?

Teapot, darjeeling, pur-eh for the tea asks?
Teapot: this one varies quite a lot by mood, ranging from ambient things designed explicitly for relaxation to various metal genres to whatever my edgy lil preteen self decided to let leave a permanent impression on my brain in like 2005. As I've gotten older there are fewer and fewer types of music I categorically dislike.
Darjeeling: a hobby besides being obsessed with Star Wars? In this economy?
Kidding, kidding.
I write some poetry and a little bit of original fiction.
I sit under the stars a lot or just quietly staring at trees in the wooded area near where I live which is an indispensable form of self-care masquerading as recreation, possibly the truest definition of what most people call a hobby.
I wouldn't call Tarot and astrology hobbies but I engage with them often enough and enjoy it enough that most people would.
Pu-erh:
The city I live in technically doesn't exist, in a bureaucratic sense.
I have the exact shade of irises that used to cause the glowing demon eyes in every picture back when that was a common camera problem
I've been the guinea pig in some niche research in repurposing therapies designed for children on adults with complex childhood trauma and it was a super cool experience

Jaedyn Meeting Korg’s Parents (First Draft)
You arrive at the house where Korg’s parents live and where he grew up. It is a strange building, seemingly made of a repurposed beached sailing ship. Above the front door you see 2 nameplates. The top one is made of brass and seems very worn, but you can make out the word “Blitzkrieg” on it. It seems like it may have been the name of the ship. The bottom nameplate is made of steel and is in much better condition. It reads “Bloeblaetsyn Residence”. That must be their surname and Korg’s real surname too. If you have a cursory knowledge of Roegadyn language you would know what the name means, or you can ask.
Korg smiles at you and then knocks at the door. A few moments later a portly Roegadyn woman answers. She has greenish gray skin and rosy red cheeks. Her grayish black hair is tied up in a bun and she’s wearing glasses, a floral dress and an apron. “Ohh! Welcome, welcome! You must be Jaedyn? I’ve heard so much about you! Come on in.” Korg steps inside, indicating for you to follow. “This is my mom, Bekkhild.”
Once inside she first gives Korg a loving embrace. “How are you love? Was the journey okay?” She kisses him on the cheek, releases him and then goes to hug you. “So nice to meet you! You can call me mom. If you’re with Korg you’re a part of our family.” Over her shoulder, or perhaps more accurately under her armpit, you can see a tall, muscular Roegadyn man entering the foyer. He has receding gray hair, a bushy gray beard and a slight beer belly. His skin is very worn and wrinkled from years of sunburn and his arms are covered in tattoos, quite in contrast to Korg’s. The man hugs Korg, lifting him up effortlessly and twirling him around like a toddler. “My lad! Tis so good to see ya!” When Korg is placed back on his feet you swear you can feel the house shake a bit. Korg motions toward the man, “This is my father, Krieghoef.” Krieghoef turns to see you and remarks, “Whoa! She’s a pretty ‘un. Well done boy!” He then saunters up to give you a hug. “A pleasure to meet ya! Sorry ye can’t be calling me daddy, Bekky already does that, but ye can call me Krieg.” Bekky smacks Krieg lightly on the shoulder. “Krieg! Have some decency.”
Although she did just smack Krieg in front of you, you are absolutely certain that Bekky is so sweet that she could neither harm a fly, nor steal candy from a baby. There’s no way she could’ve been a pirate. You assume she must’ve been a more ordinary member of the ship’s crew. Krieg on the other hand you can definitely see it. Judging by the nameplate out front, the ship was even named after him. Perhaps he was the captain. You can see flashes of Korg in both of them. In Bekky you can his kind and caring nature as well as them both wearing glasses. In Krieg you can see similar size and strength as well as the goofy sense of humour and similar sounding names.
Bekky claps her hands together, “Come sit at the table. I’ll make you all some tea.” You all shuffle into the dining room and sit at the dining table. It is made of polished mahogany and is over 9 feet long, much more lavish than you’d expected. Lining the walls are several paintings as well as various nautical themed mementos and decorations. A fancy tricorne and matching coat catch your eye. You seem to recall that Korg told you his parents worked as servants in Costa, but you see no indication that they didn’t retire from piracy with more than enough Gil to sustain themselves.
Bekky brings out a large tray containing equally large versions of a teapot, 4 teacups and a dozen freshly baked homemade cookies. She lays the tray in the center of the table and starts pouring tea for each of you. “It’s so delightful to finally meet you Jaedyn! Korg has told us so much about you. He seems quite smitten.” Korg turns a deep red and takes this moment to hide behind his teacup, pretending to drink his freshly poured tea. Bekky continues, “You should’ve seen the change in him. He was so shy and listless, but ever since he met you he’s been so vibrant and full of life.” Bekky’s eyes wander over to Korg, noticing his embarrassment and falling quiet for a moment. Krieg chimes in, “Indeed! Tis nice to meet ya lass. Korg is a good lad, ye be gentle to him and treat him well now.” He gives you a wink.
You all chat for a long while and have dinner together. Bekky cooked up pan-fried bluebell salmon filets, scalloped popotos and steamed Coerthan carrots topped with melted Garlean cheese. It is all cooked to perfection and served with tea and lowland white wine.

Florence Hidden Gems: Exploring the Flea Markets in Piazza Annigoni
Tumblr media
After visiting the S Ambrogio Vintage Market and The Flea market in Piazza Annigoni, a new layer of Florence’s limitless shopping experiences has been uncovered. Nestled within the iconic cityscapes that make up Florence, Italy, there are numerous vintage/second hand markets to explore. Florentine shop owner’s, and local residents are passionate about their vintage items that they have collected throughout the years to present finds. For fashion lovers, these unique second-hand stores offer quality clothing, accessories, and home-decor for everyone’s budget. Whether it’s from luxury to low cost, it is ideal for someone to find hidden gems at any price.
Walking through you will find endless stalls from all different vendors. They have almost anything you can imagine from jewelry, handbags, clothes and home decor. There were vintage sunglasses with cat-eye frames and retro wrist watches. We couldn't resist trying on a few accessories, feeling a connection with the history and style they exuded. One thing that really caught our attention was the unique furniture and household decorum. There were also all types of seemingly handmade glass fixtures. What makes these items so special is the fact that they are likely one of a kind. Since they are primarily vintage/antique, you are likely to find something that no one else has. These bustling marketplaces offer captivating blends of memorabilia that will transport shoppers into a whole different era.  The market's decor and trinkets created such a sight for the eyes. There were vintage vinyl records, antique cameras, old writing tools, utensils, and weathered books. Nostalgic paintings were on every corner. Ornate picture frames, ornamental teapots, and intricately patterned pottery were reminiscent of a time when craftsmanship and attention to detail were held in high regard. Each stall told a different story, inviting visitors to explore and unravel the stories behind them.  Second-hand shopping is just a fashion statement but also an environmentally conscious choice. In a world plagued by fast fashion's detrimental impact, this market offered an alternative that promoted recycling and repurposing. By breathing new life into pre-loved items, the market encouraged a circular economy, reducing waste and conserving resources.        Moreover, shopping second hand at the flea market provided a unique opportunity to support local vendors and small businesses. These passionate individuals, often collectors themselves, painstakingly curated their stalls with care and love. Their expertise and knowledge added an extra layer of authenticity to the shopping experience, allowing visitors to discover hidden gems that couldn't be found elsewhere.

Unique Ways to Decorate with Floral Elements | Flower Delivery in Dubai | Online Flower Delivery
Floral elements have always been a timeless and beautiful addition to any Decor. They bring life, color, and a touch of nature into our surroundings. While the traditional vase of fresh flowers is undoubtedly stunning, there are plenty of unique and creative ways to incorporate floral elements into your Decor. In this blog, we will explore some innovative ideas to decorate with floral elements that go beyond the ordinary, allowing you to infuse your space with style, charm, and a hint of whimsy.
Floral Wall Art: Why limit the beauty of flowers to just a vase when you can transform them into captivating wall art? Pressed flowers or dried petals can be arranged in frames or shadow boxes, creating stunning displays that can be hung on walls or placed on shelves. You can also experiment with floral decal stickers or wallpaper with floral patterns to add a touch of nature to your walls.
Floral Centerpieces: Instead of the traditional vase of flowers in the center of your dining table, consider creating unique floral centerpieces. Incorporate blooms and greenery into vintage teapots, hollowed-out fruits, or even repurposed wine bottles. For a rustic touch, use a wooden crate or a terrarium filled with a mini flower garden as a centerpiece. These unconventional arrangements will become a focal point of your space and spark conversation among your guests.
Floral Wreaths: Wreaths are not just for the front door during the holiday season. Incorporate floral wreaths into your interior decor for a fresh and charming touch. Hang a floral wreath above a mantel, on an empty wall, or even as a decorative element on the back of a chair. Experiment with different types of flowers, foliage, and even dried elements like pinecones or feathers to create unique and eye-catching wreaths that reflect your personal style.
Floral Terrariums: Terrariums are a wonderful way to bring the beauty of nature indoors. Create mini gardens within glass containers using a combination of small succulents, moss, and delicate flowers. The transparent walls of the terrarium will showcase the beauty of the plants while adding an interesting focal point to your space. Place them on shelves, coffee tables, or hang them from the ceiling to infuse your home with a touch of whimsy.
Floral Chandeliers: Add a touch of elegance and romance to any room by incorporating a floral chandelier. Create a stunning display by hanging flowers, vines, and greenery from a chandelier or a wooden hoop. This unique arrangement will instantly transform any space into a dreamy sanctuary. Floral chandeliers work exceptionally well in dining rooms, bedrooms, or outdoor spaces for special events.
Floral Table Runners: Ditch the traditional fabric table runners and opt for a more natural and vibrant alternative. Create a captivating table runner using fresh flowers, greenery, and even herbs. Arrange them down the center of your dining table, intertwining with candles or fairy lights for added ambiance. This unconventional approach will make your table setting a memorable experience for your guests.
Floral elements have the power to uplift and transform any space. By thinking outside the box and incorporating flowers and foliage in unique and creative ways, you can infuse your decor with beauty, charm, and a touch of nature. From floral wall art to terrariums and chandeliers, these ideas offer endless possibilities to personalize your space and create a truly extraordinary ambiance. So, let your creativity bloom and embark on a floral adventure to enhance your surroundings like never before.

Elevate Your Garden Decor: Creative and Whimsical Ideas to Infuse Personality
Gardens are not just outdoor spaces; they are extensions of our homes, where we can express our creativity and infuse our personalities. To truly elevate your garden decor, it's important to think beyond the traditional and explore creative and whimsical ideas. Let’s delve into a plethora of garden decor ideas that will add charm, character, and a touch of magic to your outdoor haven. Whether you have a small balcony garden or a sprawling backyard, these ideas will inspire you to transform your space into a whimsical oasis.
Fairy-Tale Delight
If you have a penchant for enchantment and a love for fairy tales, why not bring a touch of magic to your garden? Consider installing a fairy door at the base of a tree or nestled amongst your flowers, inviting the whimsical creatures to visit. Delicate fairy lights draped on tree branches or weaved through a trellis create an ethereal ambiance in the evening. To create a sense of wonder, place whimsical statues of fairies, gnomes, or woodland creatures throughout your garden. Add a touch of mystique with a mini fairy garden, complete with tiny houses, bridges, and tiny plants to mimic a hidden world.
Upcycled Treasures
Upcycling is a fantastic way to infuse personality and sustainability into your garden decor. Turn discarded items into unique and eye-catching pieces. Old wooden pallets can be transformed into vertical planters, showcasing a variety of vibrant flowers or herbs. Repurpose vintage teapots, colanders, or even rubber boots as charming plant containers. Add a touch of whimsy with a colorful bicycle planter or a repurposed ladder filled with cascading plants. Let your imagination run wild and explore thrift stores, flea markets, or your own attic for hidden treasures waiting to be given new life in your garden.
Artistic Accents
Integrating art into your garden can be a captivating way to infuse personality and creativity. Install eye-catching sculptures or kinetic wind spinners to create focal points and add visual interest. Incorporate colorful mosaic tiles into your garden pathways or create a mosaic stepping stone. Paint old terra cotta pots in vibrant hues or patterns to add a pop of color. For a unique touch, hang vintage mirrors strategically to reflect light and make your garden appear more spacious. Don't forget to consider the soundscapes too. Wind chimes or water features such as a small fountain or birdbath with trickling water can create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere.
Vertical Gardens
If space is limited, vertical gardens are a perfect solution to add greenery and style. Install wall-mounted planters or repurpose a wooden pallet into a vertical garden. Grow cascading plants, succulents, or herbs, creating a living tapestry of vibrant colors. Incorporate trailing vines on trellises or fences to add depth and visual appeal. Vertical gardens not only maximize your space but also provide a unique and artistic way to display your favorite plants.
Elevating your garden decor is an opportunity to let your imagination soar and infuse your outdoor space with personality and charm. Whether you opt for fairy-tale accents, upcycled treasures, artistic touches, or vertical gardens, these creative ideas will transform your garden into a whimsical oasis. Let your creativity guide you as you explore these garden decor ideas to create a truly unique and enchanting garden. Remember, the key is to have fun and create a space that reflects your individual style.
