“Seriously, stop looking at me,” Josette snapped, on edge and completely frazzled. “This is absolutely ridiculous.”

“This is amazing,” Glenda actually gasped as they stepped into the hotel suite, never having actually stayed anywhere this grand before. It was far too much space and incredibly ornate and simply too much for a simple weekend trip away -- and yet, she could hardly find it in herself to be bothered by it. “And I have no idea how you planned anything this quickly.

“You’re a hard man to find,” Sirius spoke as he leaned against the doorframe, eyebrow raised. “Avoiding me is rather rude, you know.”

Thorfinn’s life was, at least personally, going remarkably well. His responsibilities in work were growing by the day but he was managing a better work life balance than ever before. His relationship with his parents had taken a turn but it had allowed him a step back that was sorely needed. He was communicating and relaxed with his sister in a way he hadn’t experienced for a while. And the biggest change, the main source of is happiness; he was in a loving relationship with Glenda Chittock. With the war over and his alliances still under wraps it had been relatively easy to ignore his previous deterrents after her accident. His internal promise to be better and good, and to protect her against anything, made his selfish decision to be with Glenda seem okay.
It was only when the talks about moving in together, marriage, and their future became more serious that the guilt and worthlessness he had once felt come prancing back in. He battled with the feelings for a couple of weeks, doing his best to shove them back down to no avail. Every time she showed up with a picture of her dream couch or talked about the ease of living together he half feigned enthusiasm as the guilt threatened to drown him. He didn’t deserve her and he was well aware of it. The problem was that she wasn’t. She swore that he was better than he believed, and good and kind and caring, but she didn’t really know him at all. And despite the huge risk it possessed, and the absolute despair it was going to leave him in, he knew he had to tell her the truth. He loved her too much to let her marry a man she didn’t know - not like she thought.
So it was one afternoon, a Saturday that felt to sunny for what was to come, that he floo’d into her flat with a plan to tell her the truth.
“Hello,” he greeted normally, brushing himself off as he stepped into her flat. “You finished much earlier than I expected.”

Sitting down with some lunch, Lucinda leaned back a bit in her seat to enjoy the feel of the sun on her face, and quirked one eye open when she heard someone clear their throat. “Oh, hey.”
