Hazel is TWO today!
Or... we’re celebrating her 2nd birthday today since she was a small orphan bean, but we’re pretty sure it’s within a week of now so 🤷
She’s a wildie who loves her humans, her babies, letting her babies test food before she does, and running to her humans if there are noises. Stand by for pics of her eating birthday hazelnuts.

Injured ratty update/full explanation post!🐁
Ok so as I posted the other day we ran into my friend's dad at a pet store who was returning a rat that their snake didn't eat, the rat was injured aswell (About an inch of its tail was degloved and bleeding) He wasn't sure if they'd let him return her because she was injured but we asked if they did could we adopt her right after or if they wouldn't could we buy him from him, they let him return her so we immediately got on adopting her and taking her home. We got to the register to pay for her when we realized we never even checked if she was a boy or girl (We only had boys) so we checked and she was a girl but we had an extra cage so I begged my mom to let us still get her and get her a buddy (Because rats can't live alone) so we ended up getting her and a friend for her the same size (The guy only charged us for 2 weanlings he was very nice and helpful and has helped us a lot in the past) so we took them home and started cleaning up the cage to be ready for them, when we got to fully check out the injured ratties tail it looked like it would need some intervention by us to help it heal because it looked pretty bad.
We were recommended by the guy at the store to snip the end if her tail off (Which was black and dying) so it can scab over and heal properly and so we can stop the bleeding but I tried to double check in the ratty group me and my mom are a part of on Facebook but nobody was answering that specific question on whether or not we should snip it (Which isn't anybodys fault it was pretty late in the day too) so we used our best judgment and did what we thought and still believe was best for her and dissenfected everything and washed out hands and snipped the end of her tail off where it was dying with our big dog nail clippers (She was very very sweet while it was happening, like I was fully expecting to be bit (Even though I know they're not prone to) and I would've completely understood but she didn't even flinch when it happened, the most of a reaction we got from her was when we sprayed her tail with some stuff and the noise from the spray bottle scared her) we dipped her tail in cornstarch which was recommended to us in the group aswell and put some cream on it (Everything of which we made sure was ratty safe) and we ended up attempting to wrap it up a but but ratties are very known for getting out of stuff like that so she very quickly got out of it but since everything was clean and we didn't think re wrapping it would be a long term option we left it how it was, the bleeding had almost completely stopped only a small but getting other inside of her hospital cage where she was dragging it against and after a few minutes the bleeding had seemed to completely stop and by the next morning her tail had scabbed over nicely and started healing up!
(After the fact we had to deal with a few Facebook Karen's going for the throat in the comments of our posts about her telling us we didn't take care of her right and we abused her and that she would've been better off thrown back in the cage with the other rats to be sold as snake food. Luckily there are also a ton of very nice people defending us in the comments and things, even someone with the same name as the main Karen👀😂💖 And we double checked with many people including, the pet store workers, friends of ours, people on Facebook, rat breeders and businesses and a friend of our who used to work at the same pet store and they all said we did everything perfectly right and took care of the baby very well, the main Karen said that at least she would've been put out of her misery if she was left at the pet store but my friends snake didn't eat her so there isn't any guarantee another one would or that they'd even be able to sell her injured or how long it would take to sell her and we confirmed with the store that if she was just returned she would've been put back in the cage with the others and that the other rats would most likely start eating her tail and killing her, we were also told by our friend who used to work there that they have a drowning bucked back there specifically for rats they deem have no use anymore.)
We gave her some ratty safe pain meds (Which were also recommended to us) at the proper dosages and she is doing very very well!🥰 She's eating, drinking, and pooping normally and doing great with her cage mates and her tail seems to be healing up very very nicely. If we see absolutely any sign of infection or anything wrong we will immediately take her to the vet. her first night here we didn't wanna put her in the main cage with her friend we got her because her tail hadn't scabbed over yet and we were worried the other rat would injure her more so we kept her in a make shift hospital cage over night (Which she absolutely thrashed she is also very very active😂💖) but the next day her tail seemed to be doing good so we put them together and they almost immediately started cuddling in their hammock together, honestly through all of this the other rat we got to be her cagemate seemed more scared than the injured rat herself and we were kinda worried about her instead.
We ended up getting them two more buddies because even though pair are required for rats groups are prefered. We originally wanted to name the injured ratty something about her tail or something about how brave she's been through this all but I listened to one of Olivia Rodrigo's new songs "Lacy" (Which the album coming out was also happening in the middle of all of this so that's why my posts about it have been so spurratic😂💖) And all I could think about was her and the song is such a sweet beautiful song and she's such a sweet beautiful rat so her name had to be Lacy🥺💖
So we have Lacy and the other ratties we ended up getting to room with her are Olivia, Mango, and Cin (Cin in honor of one of our favorite ratty acounts/ratties who passed🥺💖)
Below the cut is Lacy's tail before and after and all of the other girls we got in order of their names🥰

You see, I DO like rat symbolism for Jin Guangyao, but not because he's dirty or sneaky or anything, but because they're intelligent, social, and really sweet creatures who are actually very good at helping and willing to be helpful, but they have an unfairly bad reputation due to their proximity to dirtiness, even though they tend to be cleaner than other creatures in their area.

So in Cyberaligned, Blades was originally apart of the Protectobots. Which means that G1 Blades has been mixed with Rescue Bots Blades. And what do we get for him pre Sigma 17?

I don't have much reach on my own so please share this if you can!!!
@rachiesratirementhome is an amazing, Not For Profit organization that cares for pet rats that have been injured, abandoned, surrendered, etc. You name it, they've done it. As a rat lover I have been following them for YEARS and they work wonders to care for, rehome, or - when necessary - provide quality End of Life care to pet rats. Not just the elderly at the ripe old age of 3. They take in
"I Didnt Know They Were So Expensive."
"The kids didn't like them."
"I Just Thought She Was Fat."
And much more!!
All joking aside they are in Critical Need of relocating but, as a lowly American, I know nothing of Australian housing specifications and can only help in the form of humorously exaggerated text posts.
Have you ever shared any Rat of the Week posts? I can almost guarantee you it was them.
Do you remember #TheFullSpoon?
RRH baby.
So, if you're an Australian rat lover, animal lover of any kind, care about nonprofit organizations, enjoy random challenges and have 20 minutes to spare, or just really fucking good at real estate in general????
