So I saw the headcannons of reader as Catnap and Dogday and I fell in love with the way you write! So I was wondering if you could do a headcannon about the reader being bendy from bendy and the ink machine?

Like the reader can draw and bring ink creatures to help around the hotel, maybe draw some decorations for the hotel? Sometimes going full on ink demon form to protect it or just pick up their friends on their back to make them feel taller

And the reader was actually an animator at joey drew studios and died, I think that would be pretty cool!

P.s I would love if the reader was wearing the same suit bendy wore in bendy and the dark revival

Prompt: a cute “little” demon becomes a resident who helps with the designs around the hotel!

Starting off. You definitely appeared as baby bendy 😘 with ya cute ass red bow or white bow. What ever you want the bow color as you showed up to the door trying to seem professional as Charlie gushes at your cuteness and lets you in.

The picture of baby bendy in the car, yeah you have that as you literally fuckin' zoom in the hallways drinking apple juice like a bad ass kid….bendy!Reader and chibi!Reader both doing races to make sinners poor😭 lil evil asses….

I imagine Angel dust and Alastor ganging up on you as a team to insult you by your height until you grow up to ink demon from with a roar.

“HOLY SHIT-” “Oh my.” They both said as you they were blew off by the power of your roar. So you felt happy seeing them shocked to see that part of you as Charlie didn’t see it and had commented how adorable you are with your suit.

Shit you are a devil in an angel’s suit‼️

You still wore the suit you had in when you met Audrey…man you miss her. But you are getting taken care of by Charlie and her friends here. Plus her father.

You help design the banners around the place! And even your small ink minions help as well.

I can imagine bendy! Reader being like “fuck it.” Because they can’t reach for the cereal and turn into normal height looking bendy and just starts to act as if it’s normal. While in the background, the crew has pure confusion on their face. Like, “what the fuck? You can be taller?”

“Yeah! Pretty neat right?” “..Im out of here…” husk says walking away as niffty goes up to you excited to talk to you about your height.

You ran over alastor’s foot once….you never speeded over 120 mph in your whole life seeing Alastor chase after you.

I imagine you going to normal height as you are just chilling with your small or long tail swinging and husk gets curious as he picks it up with his paw. “So…this ya tail right here?” You nodded reading the new paper. “So you’re a sinner demon?” “I ain’t nothin'” you said with a smirk as you disappeared in ink.

No one knows what exactly what you are. You don’t have the basic looks to look like a sinner or a hell born. So it’s kinda confusing to other.

You’re obviously a human who died to the ink as you use to animate bendy…so you’re bendy?? Does that make since because whatever you died by is your demon form….hopefully that made sense..

You once went full ink demon mode because a sinner tried to attack at you and husk while just running errands for the hotel. You transformed getting taller with the ink covering your face as you growl and slashes at them with a giant gloved hand covered in ink. And after that husk respected you more.

“Bendy/reader, can you help me make a cute star design?” Vaggie asked as Charlie was trying to make a star gazing banner. You nodded with your cartoony smile and pulls out a marker and started to draw on the air. The star in the air becomes to life as vaggie’s eyes widen.

“Uhm…oh wow. Thanks?” Vaggie says as she walks away with question marks visible while you just smile.

Y’know those dubbed comics where bendy has an accent? I feel like that’s cannon because you and Angel would be babbling about which part of city you guys were from.

I can see sir Pentious and you doing crafts as you made him an ink cartoon flower as he made you a bracelet bead with your name on it.

Lucifer will definitely play violin as you tap dance. Just a wholesome ass moment fr 💗🦆

You one time had fat nuggets in your doom buggy as you guys had shades just chilling around the hotel like bad asses✨

You miss your original family when you were alive and working. But everytime you open your eyes, you are greeted by the sweet comfort of your new family in the hazbin hotel.

You one time made an ink sculpture of your family and you tried to hold your smile but it faltered as you cry at how you missed your family as the ink sculpture melted due to your emotions.

Alastor appeared in your room seeing you sad little state as he comforted you. He had taken a liking to you ever since you joined the crew.

I can see you being childish because of your shortness so you use it to your advantage. YOU AND ALASTOR MAKE YOUR INK DEMONS FIGHT LIKE POKÉMON 😭😭

lol imagine bendy!reader making a whole like of fake ass tarrot cards to fuck with people as you have that smirk on your face.

They got ran over by a mysterious person and a car….who knew who it was…it was you, you little bastard.

When the hotel has a talent and show day or night, you remembered how you animated bendy to do ballet and tap dancing. So with your information, that’s what you did. Yeah some sinners laughed..but some aplaude as they found it cute and so did your friends

You making ink blob bracelets for your friends as you can make them solid is a goal for real.

Headcannon on how you would try to make ink sculptures, but failing as you huff in anger and smash it with a full ink demon hand as the rest of your body is fine.

Headcannon of you just accidentally leaving ink footprints as you took off your shoes once 😭 niffty doesn’t complain as she likes to clean tho

I can see Lucifer picking your small body up happy for you to be so small as he has started in his eyes. And you are like annoyed at how the cast picks you up like a baby.

So when the angels came for the battle, you were sure damn ready as you suffocated them in ink and control them into killing their own.

After seeing your full demon form, you definitely had been seen in a different light. They don’t see you as the cute baby bendy they seen you before.

Nah nah. They see you as a grown ass person as you are not in the baby bendy phase but more like the fanart type shit looks. With your charm, you definitely bring in some customers.

As you may have noticed, I started getting into Resident Evil and the Leon brainworms are strong. I am so down bad for this man so it was inevitable that I would have to write something for him soon.

General Yandere! RE2 Leon Kennedy headcanons

I believe that rather than an authority figure or someone working with the government, Yandere! RE2 Leon would fall in love and grow obsessed with a civilian

He first sees you in Racoon City, an innocent bystander running away with a zombie following behind very closely. You were scared to death and Leon immediately decided to jump into action, not at all hesitating drawing his gun and shooting the zombie until it dropped to the ground and stopped moving

It has always been in his nature to protect other people and so naturally, he just had to help you out.

But there was also a different reason why he had decided to help you. Truthfully, Leon had just been overwhelmed with relief to see another living human being amidst this hell he had been thrown into. All this time he had feared that he might be truly alone in this, but now there´s someone else. Someone that can keep him company in these dire times. Someone he can talk to. Someone he can protect and keep safe

Of course you´re very happy to see Leon after he had basically just saved your life and so, after you´ve both introduced yourself to each other, you agree to tag along with Leon when he offers to take you with him

I mean why wouldn´t you? Going with him would greatly increase your chances of surviving this entire ordeal and not being completely alone just lifts a huge weight off your shoulders

You´re honestly just glad that Leon lets you go with him, it´s not like you´re really of use to him, so you would have understood if he decided that it was too much to deal with

And yet, when he looks at you with a small smile and promises you that he´ll keep you safe no matter what, you have a feeling that you can trust him to keep his promise

And he definitely does! Whenever a zombie appears, Leon tells you to get behind him while he wastes no time shooting them.

He has to admit though, the way you fearfully hide behind him and stick close to him makes him feel a little strange. Why does it feel so good for you to go to him for protection? Why does he like knowing that he´s the one making sure you´re unharmed, the one taking care of you?

Why does he not want to let go when he protectively wraps an arm around your waist?

Yes, the more time passes, the more Leon starts to fall for you. Going through such a traumatic event with someone else by your side probably speeds up the process too.

You´re both the only partner the other one has. And so, Leon starts to get attached to you. The way he feels about you slowly shifts from someone he met under unfortunate circumstances to someone he met because it was meant to be this way. Fate had brought the two of you together.

Why else would you two be the only living people in this place? There was simply no other explanation.

And he had certainly taken notice of the way his heart speeds up when you smile at him every time you thank him for taking care of you.

He wants to take care of you forever. He wants to show you that he could. Better than anyone else.

And so, Leon gets more and more protective, determined to make sure you both get out of this alive so you can start planning your future with each other.

Because of this, he doesn´t like it when you stray too far away from him. Just having you leave him for around a minute makes him want to make a mad dash to go after you, immensely worried that something might happen to you while he´s not there to protect you.

He´s pacing around the room and biting his fingernails when you tell him you just want to check out a room you saw down the hallway real quick. It doesn´t matter that he already killed all the zombies roaming these halls on your way here, what if there´s another one? What if you´re all alone in that dark room and suddenly the door slams closed and a zombie tumbles out of a locker? What if he wouldn´t be able to get to you quickly enough? What if you died because he wasn´t there?

These thoughts keep eating at him and so Leon practically insists on going everywhere with you, he starts getting really clingy all of a sudden, not letting you walk even two steps without him trailing closely behind.

You might have gotten mad about someone acting that way usually but you can´t really bring yourself to blame him, considering the situation you were in.

Still, you found it kind of creepy how his eyes never seemed to leave your form. Whenever you would turn your head to look at Leon, you would catch him already staring at you intensely.

He´d have the shame to blush and apologize for staring at you but he never really stops doing it either. He just can´t help it, you´re so enchanting he has to always have his eyes on you! It´s like he´s drawn to you.

Um, he always has to make sure you´re safe, is what he meant to say there actually! There´s no other motive behind his staring!

But yes, Yandere! RE2 Leon is like a lovesick little puppy that trails after you and practically begs for your praise.

There´s always this creepily bright smile on his face whenever you thank him for doing something for you. It´s like he´s living off of your praises. And he is, truthfully. There´s nothing better to him than hearing your praise, it makes all this work worth it.

It just feels so good to hear you compliment him so sometimes he makes a show out of killing zombies, trying to look as cool as possible in front of you in an attempt to charm you. He wants you to think he´s cool and reliable. He wants you to think that he´s a good partner. That he could be the perfect boyfriend for you.

Because he´s sure that there´s no one out there that cares about you as much as he does. He would do absolutely anything for you. You could use him as much as you like and he would do it all with a smile on his face.

He just wants to show you how much he adores you, how much he loves you! That you two are meant to be together! He´s too shy to say it to you outright but he knows you must also feel the same way about him. You must! Because you´re soulmates and now that he finally met you, Leon is not willing to let go of you again.

It´s unlikely he would ever lock you up or kidnap you but he desperately wants to be a part of your life.

So please just say you love him back! Tell him you´ll never let him go and Leon will worship you every single day for the rest of his life.

When you get together

It was an unexpected twist in the story. He was slated to be a va in the next phase of the story, so he had had hope. Until your book in this phase came out. Neige was voice acting as an evil millionaire's son. After the climax of the story, it was clear they were alluding to you humanizing that character.

But he still had hope! Until he got his script, and his character single handedly match made the two of you.

He's furious! Of course you'd end up with Neige! He can't have anything, can he?

He gives Neige the silent treatment for a couple weeks. Which he does a lot anyway, and Neige is too sweet and just assumes he's busy, so on the whole, he doesn't act too out of the ordinary.

Until he sees Rook's fanart of you and Neige kissing under a cherry blossom tree….

When you break up

It was truly a devastating break up, and it left the fandom in shambles. Your and Neige's characters just had too many differences, particularly with Neige's character not being super respectful of human livelihoods.

He wasn't part of this arc, his character was somewhere else with some random potato, but he'd heard it was coming ahead of time because Neige had come to him asking for pointers on how to up his villain game. Neige was excited to be the bad guy, and knew Vii would be so helpful!

Vil is smiling the entire time. Neige thinks it's because they are having fun together. Spoiler alert, that's not it.

All his simmering rage resurfaces when the arc comes out and Rook is still doing fanart of you and Neige.

And I quote, "Why shouldn't I draw the two most radiant individuals in love's embrace?"

When you get together

Malleus had locked his door when the update with your book came out. He was so excited, giggling like a schoolgirl as he binged the entire 100 chapters.

The weather progressively gets worse and worse as he reads through it. By the time he's finished it's pouring, there's dangerous amounts of lightning, and hail has hit more than one poor Diasomnia resident.

Lilia quickly hits up the twst version of reddit, and finds out your childhood friend confessed to you, and you accepted.

As fast as he can, he sends in emergency commissions to Mal's favorite fanfic authors, paying an ungodly amount of money for speed, and slips the finished products under the door.

The weather eases up, and after about an hour, Mal emerges, pretending his makeup and face isn't tear stained.

There are a huge influx of anon requests requesting "lonely fae prince who comforts Y/N after (childhood friend's) grisly murder". The author's think it has to be more than one person. It's not.

When you break up

You and your friend broke up because what you both thought was a crush, was really just a strong friendship. You're still both on good terms, just free to pursue other people.

He's got a very intimidating smile on his face all day. That's it.

When you get together

At your job, there was a worker who was a year older than you. He was a real stick in the mud. Always insisting that everyone follow the rules. Poo pooing on parties. Ace had thought it was a throwaway character. Until you confessed to him!

Your body pillow is in time out. I mean, it is not so different from normal in that it lives under his bed. But now, if it was a moment he would have snuggled it in the past, he will look under the bed, tell you to think about what you've done, and pout.

He boycotts the game for a while as well. As though his anger at this turn of events will outweigh all the millions of people in the fandom who adore this couple.

Poor Deuce, in this specific version of the au, ships it really hard. I don't think I have to tell you about the verbal assault he gets from Ace on this matter.

When you break up

Truly a devastating moment. Your partner had been secretly cheating on you with someone even more rebellious than you.

Ace is smug as hell! He's going off on Deuce at all hours of the day! He told him so! He knew it wouldn't last! He was right, you'd never fall for a stick in the mud loser!

Your body pillow is still in timeout. You did this to yourself, and he's not sure you've learned your lesson.

When you get together

He was so excited to work with Vii again! Since they hadn't been able to work together in so long, it was nice when Vil joined the project. And then Vil's character kissed you…

He's fine! It's fine! That's fine! You're not real, it's okay! And even if you were real, he doesn't have the time for a relationship, between his acting and schooling. It's totally fine!

He's not sad! He's not! In fact he's happy because it means Vil's character is going to be even more important to the story, so they can keep hanging out!

It's totally fine!

When you break up

Vil didn't have as much time in his schedule these days. So the best thing to do was to kill his character.

It was devastating for you, and you'd definitely have lifelong trauma, but the death scene went viral, and people have gone nuts with Vil's last words to you. Neige has even seen videos of people adding them to their wedding vows!

You're not real though. So it's fine! It's okay! He shouldn't be attached to a fake character anyway, so it's fine!

He feels guilty that he doesn't feel guilty over how happy he is that Vii's character is dead…

When you get together

Jade and Floyd were quietly sitting in their room, doing their own thing, when Floyd's phone suddenly smashed into the wall by Jade's head.

The last thing Jade saw on the screen before the image flickered off and the phone shut down forever was, "I love you, even though I hate mushrooms."

Now, Jade was super far behind in the story, but he knew enough to know that 1. His brother was madly in love with you and 2. You had clearly just confessed to someone who must have been as into mushrooms as he was.

It would be amusing if Floyd hadn't started smashing his terrariums.

Quickly calling in Azul, who was one of the few people who could pin Floyd, they gave him some tranquilizers, then cleaned up the shattered glass in the room.

Floyd has no motivation to do anything for the next several days. He also picked three fights with various students. It takes a long time for him to be okay again, and as I said in the initial HC's, he is no longer allowed to play the game without supervision.

When you break up

Heh heh. Ha ha ha. HA HA HA MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!

Ethan Winters || Chris Redfield x reader who gets hurt

Since i'm a new resi fan I thought it would be perfect to start writing resident evil fics. So here's something about my two of my favorite characters :)

Warnings: injuries, swearing.

For Ethan's part you are in place of Mia, so everything basically happens the same. Just in this you end up leaving to look for him in the village, you aren't experimented on like how Mia was. Sorry if that doesn't really make sense.

Ethan:

"Ethan.." you mutter, watching as the werewolf gets ready to charge towards the man. Ethan is knocked out so he doesn't know that he's about to be killed.

The werewolf doesn't pay any mind to you, but that's about to change. Gripping onto the gun tighter you take a deep breathe before screaming "HEY!" and shooting up to grab it's attention more.

Come on you look at him. The werewolf, you'd found is called Varcolac, huffs, and then turns in your direction. "Yeah! Come and get me..."

He slowly moves away from Ethan as to get ready to charge at you. The pure adrenaline running through you pushes away any fear that you should be feeling, and as you look back at Ethan again, you notice how he's starting to wake.

You can't won't let anything happen to him, he deserves to live. With one last look at Ethan you quickly break into a sprint, drawing the werewolf away.

You fall to your knees, letting the gun fall to the ground. The blood on your hands marking the ground as you press them to it- your breathing is heavy and you feel like passing out, but you're relieved that the wolf is finally dead.

"(y/n)?!"

You look forward, watching as Ethan limps over to you. This of course makes you stand, but the pain in your side forces you back to the ground. "(Y/N)!". Despite the amount of pain he's in Ethan runs the rest of the distance to you, his eyes so full of sadness, and when he kneels down in front of you, he checks you over for any other injuries.

"What were you thinking?"

"I was thinking..." you begin "...that I made sure you didn't die" a weak smile grows on your lips, and you chuckle. "That worked out didn't it?"

Ethan blinks a few times trying to wrap his head around what just happened. To be honest he wants to be furious at you- he nearly lost you, and you mean everything to him. However you did save his life and because you're happy that he's alive, he realizes he shouldn't be feeling furious.

He sighs and then manages to crack a smile. Then he nods, thankful.

"Thank you."

You sneak through the mansion to one of the safe rooms. Chris is waiting there for you, he'd commed and had let you know which safe room he was waiting in.

It's good that he's safe, and he's okay. You can't say the same for you however, as you have a large gash on your shoulder that can only be fixed up with items available in that safe room. With a makeshift bandage pressed to your shoulder you pick up speed.

"Shit!"

You grab the lighter out of your pocket, quickly setting fire to the zombie. It's hisses and snarls fill your ears, and as it shakes violently, you back away quickly. Man you swear you can hear your heartbeat in your ears because it's so loud, it hammers against your chest.

Finally the zombie is dead dead. Shaking you put the lighter away, but you don't move. All you can do is stare at the corpse in front of you, blinking slowly, breathing slowly. "Jesus." you've been in this mansion for two hours- two hellish hours- and it's only now starting to take it's toll on you.

"(y/n)."

Chris's face comes into view- his worried face, to be exact- he is leaning down to properly meet your eyes. He wants to spend time making sure you're alright, but not there as it's safer in that room. He can tell that you're traumatised. Even as a S.t.a.r.s. member you never would have been prepared for this.

"We have to go."

He grabs your hand and pulls you to the safe room, just in time to miss a few zombies lunging at you both. He practically throws the door shut, and his fingers work away quickly, the door locking, and he protectively moves in front of you. There's no way those zombies will get in, but it's more of a safety measure.

You stand there in silence listening to the zombies slowly move away from the door, until their grunts and groans can only be heard in the distance. "Okay..." Chris sighs, turning to look at you. "I think we're good now.."

Thank god

You want to cry with relief, but you can't because if you start crying you know you won't stop. "Man am I happy to see you." You put a hand on Chri'ss arm, and Chris is equally as happy to see you. Maybe more. He's not happy that you're hurt, though, as he had managed to catch a glimpse of the gash on your shoulder.

Now that you're there he can fix you up- well if you'll let him.

"I'm happy to see you too (y/n)..."

"I feel like there's a 'but' coming." you raise an eyebrow.

"...but..." he continues chuckling at what you had said. "...I need to fix you up before we head back out there. If that's..."

You're surprised he'd noticed your gash since he'd been so focused on getting you inside instead of anything else. Not that you mind, though, since you were going to tell him anyway.

"Yes please." usually being the one to fix yourself up, but being too exhausted after that whole run-in with the zombie. "...that would be perfect Chris, thank you."

You walk over to the nearby bed, while Chris gets whatever is needed to mend to your shoulder.

Monster Spotlight: Shadowgarm

Adventure Path: Council of Thieves: The Bastards of Erebus, pg. 80-81

These grotesque, malleable predators hail from the Plane of Shadow where their frightening and ever-changing forms are as commonplace as coyotes and leopards, which coincidentally is the ecological niche they fill there. Feeding on vermin, carrion, and whatever creatures they manage to ambush, Shadowgarm are seen as dangerous pests in the Plane of Shadow, but in areas of Golarion where the barrier between light and shadow is thin, these boneless creatures can slip in through the cracks and become something all the more dangerous.

Mechanically, Shadowgarm are not harmed or even inconvenienced by normal light (magical light is different, staggering them so long as they remain in the glow!), but they have an instinctual dislike of the sun's rays which causes them to retreat during the day, cramming their distorted shapes into whatever container can accommodate them until nightfall. There are horror tales of these creatures taking up residence inside attics, cellars, or trash cans, as well as within cabinets, crevices, or crawlspaces between walls, only to be fatally discovered by someone investigating a strange noise or odd odor. Equally awful are stories of them climbing onto outcroppings (with their 30ft climb speed) or the undersides of bridges and then dropping onto prey from above like the night sky come alive and gaining a taste for flesh; horrifyingly enough, this is their go-to tactic for hunting humans. They're not animals guided by instinct; they're actually intelligent (5 Int, but still), and if placed into a new situation where prey requires different hunting methods, those methods will be adopted.

Shadowgarm in urban settings will usually satisfy themselves on garbage, vermin, and carrion, but if the opportunity arises to snatch away a lonely traveler or singular guard, you can bet they'll take it. Sneaking up on prey with their +10 Stealth, the book notes that Shadowgarm seem to draw some unusual enjoyment or perhaps even sustenance from laying in the shadow of a living creature (though not enough to prevent it from attacking), so an unaware victim may be trailed by one of these things for minutes at a time before it actually deigns to strike. Shadowgarm can Full-Attack with a trio of lashing appendages regardless of how many limbs they seem to have, each dealing only 1d4+2 damage but coating victims in a layer of Shadow Slime.

This oily black ooze coats the creature at all times, but each attack it makes can transfer a small amount of it onto their target if they fail a DC 13 Reflex save. Each time they fail, they take a cumulative -2 penalty to Dexterity... meaning that victims are caught in a negative feedback loop. Every attack forces a save, and every failed save makes the next one harder and makes the creature's next attack against them easier, and if a creature's Dex is fully engulfed by the penalty, they become entirely cocooned in the slime. Such victims are paralyzed and blinded until the slime dissolves, either an hour after the last time they were attacked, or if they remain in a source of bright light for several rounds, each round burning away a 'stack' of the slime until none remain. Y'know, provided they aren't just coup de graced by the aberration that slimed them in the first place.

The 'garms don't have a mouth or, really, any orifices to speak of, and instead eat by parking their bodies over their food. Any flesh or bone they're touching for long enough dissolves into wisps of shadow that are absorbed into their folds of their strange bodies. Victims of 'garm attacks thus disappear entirely but for piles of clothing, with not even a single bone scrap, hair, or blood spatter to mark where they once stood. To anyone who knows of these creature's feeding process, it's a sure sign of their presence, but to anyone who doesn't know, it's a sight that may make them believe the victim is still alive somewhere or trick them into thinking the culprit may be some magical kidnapper instead of a voracious predator. They may waltz into the creature's lair without knowing what they're up against.

With low AC, low HP, and no resistances or immunities (but their 7 Spell Resistance can catch low-level casters by surprise!), it may be easy to dismiss the rest of them as no threat to an armed squadron sent to exterminate them, but one cannot view such a beast in a vacuum. No, in its natural state, the Shadowgarm is a frightening and enigmatic creature that a common guard may not know how to deal with, especially since their distorted anatomy makes them seem far more fearsome than they appear, shifting and blending in with the shadows to make them appear larger or far more formidable than they look when in the light. Their Shadow Blend inflicts a 20% concealment penalty to any creature attempting to attack them when they're in dim light or darker as their forms shift and shudder unnaturally in the darkness (which stacks with any penalties a creature is suffering from if they cannot see in the dark!), and though they cannot make Intimidation checks, NPCs may lose their nerve when their blows appear to do nothing to the horrid creatures, and a descriptive DM can take several unfortunate misses in a row to make it seem like the creature is simply immune to weapon attacks.

However, like in any horror movie which relies on mounting dread and mystery to build up their monster, when you can finally SEE the monster, it becomes less scary. A single brightly lit torch takes their darkness distortion advantage and the majority of their intimidation factor away, revealing their sockpuppet-from-Silent-Hill shape to the world. Still spooky, but nowhere near as nerve-wracking! The very same torch also burns away the creature's Shadow Slime if held near enough to an affected creature, making the humble torch a must-have when going into Shadowgarm lairs even over the party all chiming in with "I have darkvision!"

Twin Peaks/Dragon Prince thoughts

Okay so I was never going to write a post that combined two of my sorta diametric interests - namely The Dragon Prince cartoon and Twin Peaks, even tho I've low key considered it.. but then they literally put out a fricken dream scene with Viren, Kpp’Ar, Sparklepuff and Opeli explicitly mirroring Twin Peaks.. so now I guess I will ramble on for a long time about this despite not really having anything sensible to say…

First up – massive spoilers are ahead for both Twin Peaks and TDP Season 5… Twin Peaks is in my view one of the most weird and interesting television shows ever made - like it's very David Lynch, so I guess you'd have to like that vibe - BUT if you haven’t seen it and are at all interested in watching it, and don’t want very essential plot elements spoilt please don’t read below this cut.. IT WILL SPOIL STUFF!

Not sure anyone will be left at this point, but a very condensed speed run of the twin peaks plot for the sake of drawing out some parallels later:

Laura Palmer is found murdered in her small home town where a veritable list of ner do well characters who are possible suspects also reside. Call in special agent Dale Cooper to solve the crime, so far, so police procedural…

This is when the plot starts to go a little left field - as well as the drug smuggling, illegal casino, insurance swindles, arson, doubling crossing, false murders, real murders, faked deaths, real deaths that are just part of everyday life in this quaint little rural US town, a portal exists to a place called the red room or the waiting room and to the white and black lodges which by and large represent forces of ‘good’ and ‘evil’ and hold within them certain denizens who might help or hinder, or just be completely bizarre and unintelligible depending on their inclinations...

One of the evil denizens is Bob - Bob is pretty much the representation of pure evil, he possesses people and encourages them to fill his own base desires.

After a certain amount of investigation the original crime is solved, the presence of Bob and the lodges is revealed and the show gets a whole lot weirder as it moves through the rest of the second series and the third (set 25 years later)

At the end of season 2 the good Dale Cooper goes into the red room and gets stuck in there while an identical version of Cooper emerges but this one not so wholesome and possessed by Bob.

There’s a lot more to it, but I’ll get into the relevant points and possible, tho probably very tentative TDP parallels as they come up.

Anyway to break it down.. in the short scene we see we have Kpp’Ar - here I believe framed mirroring the role of the one armed man, Mike, he could also be framed as the giant theoretically but given the arm/bandage motif I’m going to say he’s the one armed man..

The one armed man used to run with Bob until he saw the light and changed his ways, and he cut off his arm to do this a little drastic perhaps? because he had a tattoo on the arm that linked him to Bob. So a possible parallel here to Kpp’Ar having also realised his dark magic/blood tie with an ancient evil entity and trying to rid himself of it through cutting it out of his arm, go, go my guy. The one armed man acts as one of several pretty obtuse guides for good Cooper in the show.

Will Kpp’Ar come back and do this for Viren? Eh probably not, I can’t even speculate on that sort of thing, so let’s leave that parallel there.

Right, Sir Sparklepuff also gets a little cameo as the the arm/the man from another place.. a cryptic clue giver who speaks unintelligibly and also has some natty dance moves..

So the arm is a fairly ambiguous character, he hangs with the evil denizens, he hangs in the waiting room, he helps, or he doesn’t, it’s pretty vague.. he is the part that was cut out to remove the evil influence, but I’m not sure where that could go if anywhere… Onto Viren, who is framed taking the role of FBI agent Dale Cooper, Cooper goes into the red room for good reasons, he wants to save his girlfriend Annie… unfortunately he doesn’t and instead he gets stuck in there while his doppelganger possessed by Bob escapes and goes on to run merry havoc for the next 25 years…

Bad Cooper is a corrupted figure who can give corpse face Viren a run for his money annnd… he also has black eyes… nice…

This is just how your eyes go when you're evil.. so err.. stay good kids

On the other hand it does look like you have a lot more fun going feral

Meanwhile the good version of Cooper has to escape from the waiting room, and trust me, it takes a long time…

Then we have Opeli as the log lady.. now the log lady, also called Margaret Lanterman, we are given to believe was once abducted as a child by aliens (there’s a pretty strong interest in conspiracy type stuff in twin peaks without it ever completely leaning in and going there, well I guess it does, let’s just say there are a lot of things beneath the surface) Margaret grows up just fine though, but on the eve of her wedding night to a fireman there is a fire in the woods, and hubby to be goes and gets himself killed fighting the flames. Margaret takes a log from the scene and caries it round with her ever after with it being heavily implied that the spirit/soul of her almost husband is in there and passes her messages with regards to some of the goings on in the town.

Hey Opeli guess what? Rayla's breaking into Viren's study... ahem..

Like anyway why did Opeli get this role? I have no idea, she's the only available female character?? Anyway Opeli says backwards the line - the jelly tart you like is going to come back in style.. the log lady does not say this in the show, but there is a pivotal scene where all the murder suspects in the Laura Palmer case are gathered together and the guilty party is approached by a white lodge denizen and told that gum you like is going to come back in style.. that's how they find out whodunnit.

So the premise of Twin Peaks is that the guilty party is also shown to be possessed by evil entity Bob and it raises some interesting questions within the fandom regarding an individual’s culpability for their crimes or whether the possession was the root cause of them and I feel like I can’t really dance around it anymore so I will say again if this show sounds interesting and you want to watch it unspoiled with regards to the murder STOP READING HERE.. also I will be going onto the darker themes of the show and you are warned they are kinda dark…

Right okay it was her father, Laura’s father, Leyland, possessed by Bob raped and abused her for several years and then murdered her and others when it became clear she knew it was him.

Now every time Laura was abused in the show she sees the face of Bob not her father. There is debate whether this is trauma projection, whether it is in fact evil entity Bob controlling the father’s actions… I mean there’s a lot of interesting stuff to go into, but I won’t, because I only want to look at the possession angle here.

Okay, onto the topic of possession and free will, specifically with regards to Viren and also dark mages in general.. so we have seen Aaravos possess Callum explicitly, based on one use of dark magic, whether he was able to do this due to Callum’s proximity to the mirror... not sure? He also possesses Viren very obviously on a couple of occasions, but they also have the blood tie... so it's likely that dark magic allows Aaravos to exert his influence on those who practise it as has been explored by others.

Anyway there is another factor I have kinda been low key wondering about - whether the staff of Ziard has certain possession/persuasion potential.. now I’m not going to come out and say the staff holds sway over Viren and tells him what to do because this puts a certain absolution on Viren’s actions that I don’t think is justified by the narrative BUT I do also think it would be kinda cool if Aaravos with his links to the stars and future predictions had a way of seeing what might happen and engineering his own deliverance through the push/pull of the staff.

Not betting any hard cash on this theory...

We don’t know when Viren first gets the staff, I have to re-watch that dream sequence and possibly wait for puzzle house because I have at least some thoughts it might be what Claudia finds in there.. but he doesn’t have it in the Puzzle House pages I’ve seen and he does before Magma Titan because he takes it with him..

So... I don’t know if there is a slim possibility that while the staff might not possess a mage it might subtly lead them towards an end goal - slaying an archdragon say, who holds the mirror window into Aaravos’s prison, and thereby allowing the dark mage to come into possession of said mirror and thereby setting the whole train of freeing Aaravos in motion..

Now fine, this is a bit of a stretch, could easily be Viren is simply fuelled by his desire to kill a dragon out of revenge/hubris a desire to rekindle his relationship with Harrow (ahem) but I kinda like the idea that there is a very subtle pull leading him in that direction through the staff, and Aaravos does at least seem pleased to notice that staff in his possession, while Viren visibly shies from it throughout much of s4…

This could mirror a little with the possession/influence themes of Twin Peaks - there is a ‘good’ Cooper and a ‘bad’ Cooper, but they are really the same Cooper and it is the flaws in the good that allow for the evil influence of the bad to take hold - Cooper has a weakness for trying to save women in peril, it gets him in trouble… Viren seems to have a weakness for power and doing anything for his family, however dangerous, however vile - personally I don’t really like to read stuff purely in terms of a good/bad white/black dichotomy.. but I do like character flaws leading to the wrong path and imperilling your soul.

This all inclines me towards the Aaravos is pure evil and the Prometheus and even Lucifer stuff was just a bit of a tease. In Twin Peaks the unleashing or at least the amplification of evil in the world is linked very explicitly in one episode to the dropping of the atomic bomb, this is framed as a cataclysmic event during which mankind press the button on their own potential annihilation...

s3 episode 8 - I don't think will ever be surpassed for am I hallucinating or is there something very weird on my tv at 4am vibes

I know there have been some links between dark magic and nuclear power parallels made by other people but I can’t remember the details and it has always been something I’ve kinda chewed around a bit without having any specific thoughts or beliefs on, other than ouch corruption looks a lot like radiation burns… but I can see an analogy for something that is created to both serve humanity giving us a fairly unlimited power source, while also giving us the ability to pretty much obliterate ourselves and the planet which - tbh best not to think about how close that has already been...

Dark magic is clearly a force that can be used to benefit humanity, healing, feeding 100,000 people etc, etc.. but it is also being lined up as something that holds its own peril, that probably isn’t a power to be wielded by inconsistent, unreliable and sleep deprived humans, and it’s been given to them by Aaravos? Like I think that has not yet been explicitly stated in cannon but the signs are all there.. so hmmm..

Anyway all told this has led me down quite a few lines of thinking that I don’t really have any definitive conclusions for because they are by definition not issues that can be neatly tied up with a bow... at least not by me.

Then Viren is pretty much comatose for the rest of the season much like Coop/Dougie is season 3 of Twin Peaks.. rip my guy...

to answer your question quickly: yes! i'm planning for there to be unique qualities to certain infected strains, but i'm not sure what that'll be - the aesthetic of the upside down will be a heavy factor in how i design the infection!

this is gonna turn into a ramble but honestly, i've barely begun the zombie (worldbuilding) part of the au, mostly because it's not really my forte, characters are! it doesn't mean i'm not confident in my abilities to make an interesting world- it's just that i'd have to do a whole lot more research to make a world i feel is cohesive and fits the characters well because it doesn't come as naturally to me :) after i finish off the character sheets, i'll dedicate some time into outlining more about the apocalyptic world!

under the cut, i'll provide my main sources of inspiration that i'm going to be drawing from!

honestly, i'm not gunning for originality or anything - i'm just hoping the world i create is interesting and fits the characters well in context! i've always been much more interested in characters than the worldbuilding in regards to general storytelling, but i do believe characters have a heavy hand in making the world feel lived in + interesting, which is why i'm trying to make a world around the characters :)

I haven’t seen anybody talk about this yet so...

Luis’s gun is a Mauser C96, a semi-automatic pistol (for anybody who doesn’t know what a semi-auto firearm is, it is a repeating firearm that has an action mechanism that automatically loads a following round into the chamber to prepare it for subsequent firing. however, the gun does require the shooter to manually pull the trigger to discharge each shot unlike a fully auto gun where the trigger can be held down).

In particular, he uses the M1916 Prussian variation. That variation was named the Red 9 due to the large red 9 burned onto the grip. This was because the M1916 took 9mm rounds instead of 7.63mm as the standard. The 9 was put on the gun to remind the users not to load in the wrong ammunition. (Note: If you load the wrong ammo into a gun, it can stop the gun from firing and damage the firearm).

The Mauser C96 guns were manufactured in Germany from 1896 to 1937 but remained in use in military service until 1961 despite the fact that after WWI, the gun was considered outdated.

The gun could hold ten rounds at a time.

Unlicensed copies of the Mauser C96 were also manufactured in Spain and China during the first half of the 20th century.

As shown below, there is nowhere to insert a mag into the gun as the magazine base is closed and solid and there is no release switch. This is because the Mauser C96 has something called an internal magazine.

That part just before the trigger is the box mag and there is an opening at the top of the gun above the mag. To load a Mauser C96, you need to use a stripper clip which is a speed loader whose purpose it is to hold cartridges together for faster reloading.

To fully load a Mauser C96, you need to take the stripper clip, load it into ammunition clip feedway as shown in the image above and then push the rounds down into the magazine with your thumb. Be careful, however, when reloading, as an incorrect reload can close the bolt on your thumb.

The Mauser C96 also has a detachable stock. The stock gives it the stability of a short-barreled rifle.

Due to the shape of the grip, the Mauser C96 was nicknamed the ‘broomhandle’ whilst in China it was nicknamed the ‘box cannon’ due to the shape of the magazine as well as being able to be holstered in its own stock.

To apply the safety on a Mauser C96, one must have the hammer up (if reloading the Mauser, you cannot apply the safety onto the gun) and then push the safety up as well which draws the hammer away from the firing pin. Reloading the Mauser is a bit scary because if you are not careful with the gun, you can accidentally shoot yourself or somebody else. Always point a gun away from you and others, no matter the firearm you are carrying and practice trigger discipline.

To actually fire the gun, of course put the safety down and then cock back the hammer.

The Mauser ejects cartridges upwards so it is possible for the cartridge to come back and hit the shooter. Reminder: Bullets are EXTREMELY hot and if you are hit with a freshly fired one, it can burn you.

The Mauser C96 has a pretty good reputation for its accuracy and range. But I’m sure you all are more interested in knowing how it does power wise given Resident Evil 4 has it as the most powerful handgun in the game.

Yes, the C96, and in particular the Red 9 that Luis uses, is powerful. A Mauser can shoot clean through a watermelon (a watermelon and a human head have about the same density).

However, whilst many enjoy firing a Mauser, it’s not exactly a good handgun. It has some problems, including a propensity to jam, and I’ve seen plenty of comments of people saying it’s awkward to use.

I’d say that Luis likely uses the Red 9 as a memento from his grandfather as I can’t think of another reason Luis would be using the gun (not to mention he’s a scientist, not a fighter so another reason he might have grabbed whatever to defend himself and he likely learned how to use it and the rifle he has in Mercenaries from his grandfather).

Of course Vivia immediately starts pulling some poetry. Unlike the FE Engage characters in that game's DLC, he seems like the kind of guy who would actually do it. Fuck it, he did! All game!

And here I thought he discovered a corpse. Nope, he's just trapped in an elevator with a generic Aetheria schoolgirl.

Someone in my building was trapped in the elevator a few months ago. I went out for a grocery run while hearing a man talking, then realized he was talking on the phone. When I got back, I saw the same guy, with a bunch of firefighters. When I asked them what had happened, they said that someone had been trapped in the elevator! And the elevator in this building is particularly small, cramped, and unsafe. I felt so bad for him.

Vivia you are NOT helping.

We put two emo asses in a room with no one else around. Stick around to see how it goes.

A woman in a red raincoat is a famous Japanese premise for a ghost story.

She was almost hit by a speeding car, yet didn't die.

No one lives in the building, yet the woman says she lives there.

The woman is surprisingly emo, saying she likes to "observe life" and that Vivia has "the smell of death".

We can conclude that the woman is a ghost.

The real twist of this DLC was that the evil scary ghost was actually very kind after all! She just wanted to save people from committing suicide! That's so kind of her.

I was wondering what "they" would look like. And "they" is just legitimately a ton of evil grabby hands. Someone get the cat nun in here, she'll kill their asses in the name of God.

The real real twist of this DLC is that Vivia can turn into a ghost! Wait, we already knew that.

There's something funny about what's going on here being legitimately a very emo sort of story about life and death, and the only thing keeping the emo guy from going full emo is a sopping wet dog of a dad.

This was a real Bungou Stray Dogs episode of a DLC. The only thing missing is a multimillionaire.

Yakou DLC

I theorized before that the reason they asked you to finish the game before you picked up this DLC was that this one directly referenced Raincode's endgame twists, which were that every citizen in Kanai Ward had a homunculus made from their body, but those homunculi went berserk and murdered the original residents, before unknowingly replacing them, over the course of a week. My theory was that since this DLC features a young, beardless Yakou, that he somehow survived the onslaught. There's a scene in Chapter 4 where Yakou's spirit talks to Yuma and Vivia, but both reason that it couldn't have happened since Yakou was not technically dead at that point, so they weren't sure who it was. I wonder, given this information, if the voice could have been the original human Yakou, who was hiding in the ceiling of the lab of his wife's murderer and who could tell, based on how the other detectives were acting, that all of them deeply cared about his homunculus version.

Anyway, we'll see if my crack theory is true or not! Because I suspect it might be!

... Or it could be that the DLC starts out with the deteriorated homunculus Yakou in the emaciated Restricted Area lab after his death in Chapter 4.

Everything that goes down in this town always happens at Golden Path cafe. Or the hotel cafe.

This is surprisingly deep lore about Chapter 5.

It's fun to see these two on a date. Golden Path Cafe is literally my favorite building in the whole game, and that's because it's pretty. (I should go drink some coffee at my local plant cafe...)

Literally what's with detective games and giving their main characters, grown adults, child badges that they got when they were kids and still wear as adults???

OH. OH WELL THAT CHANGES THINGS...

I still don't get the full context of the ending. Yeah, that medicine means that there's hope for Kanai Ward's zombified homunculi, but does that make Yakou's wife in this scene a zombie who regenerated, a ghost, a human who escaped the onslaught, a living homunculus of his dead human wife, or even his own wife who survived her assassination?

I think I get it. Maybe. That medicine could regenerate the zombified Yakou. Then he could take over her research and create enough to save all of Kanai Ward's zombies. But that still doesn't explain who his wife is in that scene. I think it's a ghost.
