Original post here. Took me a few months due to laziness, but I finally got backdrops fitted and lights installed, and added a few new things, so the shelves are a bit fuller : )

Dark Magicians and Yami's Duel Monsters shelf:

Egyptian themed shelf:

Seto Kaiba and Blue Eyes shelf:

I swapped the 2nd and 3rd shelves from the original layout - slightly nervewracking having a 20 lb statue on the middle shelf, but at least that minimizes the visual interruption of the horizontal support bar.

Also not 100% sold on the 3rd shelf backdrop, the blue circuit board looks okay from a distance but it gets busier the closer you get. I might end up doing a space one instead, if it gets to be too much.

He's here! I put him next to my other statue from Freedom Studio of Levi as a child, just for a size comparison. Even the art box is awesome! Really great detail and emotion captured, especially for a statue that's under 1/6 scale I think. You can even see his single tear clearly. Anyone who bought him won't regret it.

an update for anyone whos not following elsewhere: the cats surpassed their goal in the first 12 hours and a stretch goal was surpassed shortly after. ive been sick and incredibly busy since shortly after launching and havent gotten to talk much about it. one of the stretch goals was to make mushroom cats available to backers. please witness the AMAZING colors Skelecat developed for it! and pictured will also be the final pose. we're only a little over $500 away from being able to offer the final of the set, the industrial cat, as a backer reward. the campaign still has 19 days in it, so this is a completely achievable goal. ive also been able to make rewards available to those living in canada and mexico as well instead of being only available to those in the US. im still looking into other international options, so if youre interested please stay tuned! you can view the campaign here and to recap for those who dont know, the campaign itself is to: 1) help me afford a pressure pot to avoid microbubbles 2) help cover the cost of producing the first batch of the abyss cats(pictured above) 3) compensate skelecat for all the help they provided every statue will come with a matching sticker and stickers are also available as separate rewards for those that dont want or cant have the statues for any reason. the kickstarter will last until Novemeber 2nd at 11am PDT. please consider giving it a look and sharing it around! and thanks to everyone for your continued support :)

Figure collecting: Pharaoh Atem 1:6 resin by Aftershock Studio

(Full disclosure, this is an unlicensed statue. There's a similar Atem on horseback statue by Fantastic Territory that is licensed and was announced around the same time, if you like the look of this but don't want to buy unlicensed products.)

Overall this is a pretty piece and was actually quite a bargain given the size and weight (27 lb ship weight). Atem's face is great, exactly what I was hoping for. His earrings are hinged which was a nice surprise, so depending on how you slot in the head they can fall into different spots. Good musculature on the body (nice thighs!)

The horse looks good. Came as a single piece except for the tail, so no issues with visible seams. Pose is dynamic and it feels stable even though it attaches to the base via the 2 back hooves with a bit of weight resting on a dust wisp that goes between the horse's legs. I mean if I'm going to nitpick it's way too hairy for the desert environment its supposed to be from and I doubt the tack's accurate to any era (certainly isn't tack that would be used in modern riding). Tack is much more minimal than the horse in the licensed statue for sure! But it's still a pretty and powerful looking horse.

The base is unfortunately quite large with a lot of dust cloud effects, though given how horizontal the entire piece is I think it was unavoidable having a longer base to counterbalance the weight of the horse. There's a mini temple at the back to give the impression that Atem is galloping away from the city or whatnot.
