I love the gay panic Nina Dobrev has throughout XXX The Return of Xander Cage. Also the green haired lady with the sometimes Australian accent is mommy. Also also I got the movie cause Kris is in it, this was I think two years after Exo cause I saw the “Exo gloves” scene and wanted to see the movie and I liked his character in it the first time and I still kinda do, there are some funny parts like when he shits his pants in the car driving scene but seeing it again, and this is not because he’s in jail, but idk he doesn’t really fit? Like I feel they could’ve put anyone in for his character. But it was fun to see him in an american movie but idk he’s kinda cringey in the movie but maybe his character is for comedic purposes? Also also I feel like Lady Gaga should’ve played the blonde lady

xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017)
Tumblr media
People love the Fast & Furious franchise, but without a roster of characters who can stand on their own, audiences are left waiting for years between movies! If only there was some way to see Vin Diesel driving something fast more frequently… Lo and behold! The stars have aligned and created the perfect environment for some executive to bring back the xXx franchise from oblivion. We’re talking about xXx: The Return of Xander Cage!
When “Pandora’s Box” - a device which allows anyone holding it to hack into any satellite, spy on anyone and send the orbiting chunks of metal crashing down on Earth - is stolen and Augustus Gibson (Samuel L. Jackson) killed, Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), whose death was grossly exaggerated (see xXx: State of the Union) returns to action. Assembling his own team of experts – sniper Adele Wolff (Ruby Rose), driver Tennyson “The Torch” (Rory McCann) and DJ (?!) Nicks (Kris Wu), it’s up to the former motocross celebrity to save the world from terrorist Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his associates (Deepika Padukone, Tony Jaa and Michael Bisping).
This film is trying so hard to cash in on Diesel’s Dom Toretto character it’s actually amusing. It’s not about “family”; it’s “X takes care of its own”. Like F&F, this series is moving away from its roots and instead focussing on a roster of multicultural specialists. Well, except for the driver, who is actually kind of terrible at his job and secretly hoping he will get to his 200th crash by the time the film is over, and the DJ, who does little in the end. They kind of suck. The other characters, however, are amusing. They’re all trying way too hard to be cool. Cage’s first scene has him skiing down the branches of jungle trees (cause that’s what you do when you’ve got mountain Dew flowing through your veins and you eat nothing but Doritos all day) and it only gets crazier from there when spy vehicles are deployed (at least I think those were supposed to be spy vehicles, otherwise that just makes NO SENSE), satelites are sent plummeting down, grenades get tossed, bad Russians get shot in the head and bootylicious babes rub their bodies all over Cage. It’s a teenager’s idea of “Awesome” brought to life, in a way that reminds you of Sucker Punch but without the greasy subtext or the pretension. This film is so dumb you sit back, mouth agape.
It’s as if director D.J. Caruso and writer F. Scott Frazier heard people’s complaints about the second film, about how it was worse by trying to be smarter. To compensate, they decided to make the dumbest action film they could. While you’ll be laughing at the picture's expense, don't be surprised if you find a few legitimately good things about it. The characters who aren’t wasted or useless have some nice moments and the picture is self-aware enough to know what kind of nonsense you want to see. When it delivers, it does it in spades. xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is dumb, but I say it’s dumb fun. (November 2, 2018)

Happy Birthday Scottish actor Rory McCann born 24th April 1969 in Glasgow.
Six foot six inches tall, with brown eyes and dark hair, Rory McCann began his working life at the top - as a painter on the Forth Bridge. He came to notice in a television commercial for Scotts' Porage Oats, in which he appeared as a scantily-clad hunk in a vest and kilt and little else wandering snowbound streets but warmed by the inner glow of the porage. He claims that as a consequence he was often approached by people demanding that he "lift his kilt", I can quite believe that as who out there among us has never had that asked of us?
In 2002 he was seen in the TV comedy-drama 'The Book Group' playing a wheelchair-bound lifeguard, a part for which he won a Scottish BAFTA award for the best television performance of 2002. Since then he has taken television roles as Peter the Great and a priest in 'Shameless'. He made his Hollywood debut in Oliver Stone's 'Alexander'. Rory has never been in Taggart but did appear in another well known Scottish show, Monarch of the Glen.
Of course the role he is most famous for is, apart from the porage ads, that of Sandor "The Hound" Clegane in the popular Game of Thrones.
Film role have included, Beowulf & Grendel, Hot Fuzz and xXx: Return of Xander Cage
Rory used to be the frontman of a defunct band called Thundersoup in the early 90s. In 2017 he made a musical appearance as the drummer of Texas, a Scottish rock band, in their music video of Tell That Girl. He also plays the piano, banjo, guitar, and Mandolin.
Rory divides his time between homes in London and Glencoe, eh hates technology and loves being cut off and is known for living a solitary, transient lifestyle, he describes himself as such "I'm a man's man. I go out climbing and live outdoors." He used to solo rock climb and broke multiple bones in a near-fatal rock climbing accident in Yorkshire when he was 21. And ladies he is single, he says "I don't have a mortgage, I don't have a wife and I don't have kids, so I'm quite happy bumbling along."
I have found hat he mentioned a wife to someone in a bar in England last year, saying she set up his social media account as he wasn'ttechnically minded. Rory is normally quite a private person and I can find no evidence that he is actualy married, so who knows!
In 2019 Rory was seen in the Jumanji movie with fellow Scot Karen Gillan. In 2022 he became the narrator of the ITV1 series DNA Journey., We last saw him in the film Jackdaw a british action thriller set in North East England. He has a couple of projects ready for release, The Damned set in Iceland, and voice in a new animated mini series Knuckles, based on the video game Sonic the Hedgehog.

DP Sidehoes Week Day 5: Dani, Self Defense
Trigger warnings for: Dissection, dehumanization, brainwashing, organ harvesting (kind of)
The incision was only slightly over a millimeter deep, carved in the lines of scar tissue that had formed directly under her rib cage. A second set of gloved fingers reached into the incision with forceps, peeling the skin away from the muscle and tissue underneath it. Dani's nerves were set alight with a searing, scorching pain as the free hand began to scrape whatever fat build up had accumulated there, but she did not move or scream. She didn't even look away.
Not that she could have, even if she wanted to. The muscles that allowed her to move her neck had been removed sometime last week, or perhaps only a few hours ago. It wasn't like it mattered. They'd grow back eventually, and then they'd be taken away again, and again, and again, just like they had been a dozen times before. In the mean time, all Dani could do was watch, unblinking and unmoving, as the scientists took her away in jars and vials in bits and pieces.
She didn't blame them. At the beginning she did, back before she'd understood why. She remembered fighting and screaming and swearing that she'd kick all of their asses into next week, and even if she didn't, than someone else would. She remembered screaming and writhing in pain and anger, even after they'd restrained her. It was only after they'd gone through three rooms and double as many agents that they explained it to her.
The woman who had talked was nice. Still in the bright white uniform and black sunglasses, of course, but she'd talked to Dani as if she was a dog or a cat, or maybe even an infant child, if Dani was willing to stretch it. She talked to Dani as if she could understand, as if Dani was anything more than the pile of spare parts she now knew she was.
It was her explanation that allowed Dani to understand what she was. Why her cooperation was important.
"We are alive," she explained, her gaze strong even behind the shades. "And you, simply put, are not."
Dani tried to argue, but the bubbling groan of ectoplasm and blood in her throat silenced her faster than the scientist's words.
"I know that you think that you are, but just look at you." She walked away, pacing a few steps, and then turning back. "Living things die. That is a simple fact. If you were a living thing, than you would not be here to listen to me speak. You are not living. As you exist now, you are worthless."
She turned back to face Dani head on. "But you do not need to remain worthless. With our help, you can become more. You can help."
With a wave of her hand, a sickly man was wheeled in. He was not dressed in the customary guys in white uniform; rather, he was wearing a hospital gown. His legs were weak and bony and covered in lesions, and the rest of his body wasn't far behind. He smiled brightly at the woman, with a look that channeled as much hope as any look ever could. "Introduce yourself," she said.
He only glanced at Dani for a moment, before looking away. "Uh. My name is Xander." His voice was not as weak as his body, but he clearly had not been prepared to speak.
"Xander is dying, in the way all living things do. And he will die before the end of the year." With another wave of her hand, a different agent wheeled in a table, a series of vials placed in orderly rows on top of it. "But with this..." She grabbed the closest vial, a soft, muddy brown, and held it out to Xander.
He grabbed the vial and twisted the cap off, before downing the whole thing greedily. The effects were instant. The color returned to his face, the meat to his bones, the strength to his grip. He slumped into his chair further, eyes closing as he sighed in relief.
"And now he will live." She turned back to face Dani. "Possibly for only a few more years, but he will live. All thanks to the samples we have taken from you." She grabbed another sample off the table. "This is your essence, your ectoplasm and blood mixed together. A miracle cure for all of humanity."
She set it back down, and stepped forward slowly, until she was standing next to where Dani was propped. "Do you see what you can give us?" Her voice was soft now, the tone of authority dropped. "Your cooperation is all we need to cure... everything. Humanity will not need to suffer, will not need to go through pain. Fighting us is to fight against the saviors of millions. Is your freedom really worth that much misery?"
At the time, Dani had spit in her face. Now, with months to think it over, she couldn't help but agree. Sure, everything hurt. The feeling of hands and metal inside of her body, tearing her into pieces, was nothing shy of the worst thing she could ever imagine. But it had been... months? Months of pain, to the point of it carrying her far away on an ocean of agony.
She was being useful. She'd never been useful before. Vlad had cast her aside near instantly, and no matter how hard she searched, she'd never found a place for her. Maybe it was a good thing. There was no one to miss her, not really. Danny and his friends might wonder, but she'd disappeared before. They would not dwell on her.
The scientists had finished. They did not bother to stitch Dani back up; the wound would heal on its own by tomorrow. They filed out of the room, turning the light off with them, plunging Dani into darkness.
It was nice, to find her place.
