I headcanon that during Star Allies, Meta Knight was called 'borb' a whole bunch. Like, literally a whole bunch. It was basically a meme.

Practically all the dream friends called him 'borb' because they thought it was funny. Dedede was the one that initiated it, and everyone else just kinda followed suit as they made it a trending joke during the adventure. Some of them had a blast doing it.

Meta Knight doesn't like being called borb, really. He supposes he did maybe find it amusing the first few times, but it got repetitive and annoying real quick. He gave no reaction a lot of the time when people called him borb, but there was the occasion he'd snap and be like "Stop. I am no borb." to make it crystal clear that he did not enjoy it.

After Star Allies, everyone eventually stopped calling him borb. Well, except for one person. Marx still does it even to this day. Because of course he would. No surprise it's that clown still calling him that.

Meta Knight already considered Marx to be a wretched pain in the rear long before that, though. It's par for the course, really.

Although what makes this situation funnier is that Dark Meta Knight was often being called 'edgy borb' at around the same time Meta was constantly called borb. DMK was more vehement about opposing his nickname by comparison. Meta Knight however thought it was hilarious and delightful that his counterpart was given that nickname.
