All of the brothers and “not today Satan”

Mammon: Definitely started this. He was in the human world on “professional” business and saw a mug at a tourist trap. He bought about 20 and hid (sold) all of the house’s other mugs. 

Levi: Was definitely already aware of the meme. He’s not the type to buy gag items when that money could be spent on idols but he does have a fun week texting Satan various images and gifs. 

Beel: Is a complete sweetheart. He doesn’t quite get it at first but he isn’t the type to seek out jabs. Unfortunately, he will do just about anything for food, so someone hands him a mug or bribes him with a burger and Beel has joined in. 

Asmo: Got a shirt, wore it once, then DIYed it into a tube top. Incidentally, this removed the word not, so now he has a tube top that says “Today Satan.” If there’s ribbing to be had he’ll be right there. 

Satan: Is NOT happy about this. He has that heartless smile and even manages to bite back the first few jabs, but he then went off and tortured the first random people he found making the joke outside of his family. 

Belphie: Knows how to twist in the knife and can’t resist a good jab. Even if they get along pretty well that just means Belphie saves it for when it’ll really sting. Or be particularly funny. Or if Satan has hurt Beel’s feelings.

Lucifer: If bothers Satan, it can be used as a punishment. So it is. In mild instances he will simply bring out one of the mugs for his morning coffee, if a more severe punishment is needed he hexes the phrase onto Satan’s jackets when hanging him from the ceiling.

Embarrassing confession, for as much as I love Otome games and harem/reverse harem stuff I don’t... get the whole custom OC/the main character is literally me thing people do. 

For me so much of the appeal is in how the characters respond to each other and how that builds a mutual relationship. Invalidating that looses a lot of the appeal for me. And it’s an illusion that easily breaks because inevitably there will be a moment where the character does something you disagree with or wouldn’t personally have done if you were that character. Because even with some choices, there’s inevitably a personality and likes to the protagonist.  

I go so far in the other direction I spend a lot of time compiling the few details we do know a canonical main character. Because that’s way more compelling for me?

Just because the reaction the canonical Yuki had to something isn’t your reaction doesn’t mean they didn’t have a reaction. Just because they liked something you didn’t, doesn’t mean their reaction is wrong. 

And while I’m screaming things the fandom may hate: They have a fucking default name it’s Yuki. MC is great as a descriptor for the OCs placed in their place however, they have a name: Yuki and they have pronouns: they. MC is not a name. Y/N is not a name.

So... I posted a fanfic. Honestly I just needed to finish something to prove to myself I still could. It’s a weird style... I’ve been revising and reworking it for so long I can’t tell if it’s good anymore. I’m going to go pass out now.
