Fandom: Star Wars Sequels Ship: Rey/Ben Solo AUs/Tropes: Lovecraftian AU, Royalty betrothed at birth (but it's complicated) Prompt: Ben Solo was betrothed to Rey because of an old debt Sheev Palpatine had with his own grandfather's family. That is until a scandal ruined completely the Palpatines' reputation and the betrothal was broken. Years later, Ben meets Rey for the first time during an expedition arranged from one of his father's old friends. The animosity that immediately sparks between them is soon forgotten when strange and horrible things starts happening and people starts losing their sanity around them. Or worse, dying.

Extra details: I'm not much of a fan of the horror genre, so I feel a little out of my dept. But I still have a little bit more background stuff that came into my mind that isn't really related to the actual mysterious/dangerous thing going on. First of all, I like this idea of Han being basically the Indiana Jones of this universe, and Ben, annoyed at the mere concept of being royalty and having to attend/host balls and things like that like his mother does all the time, decides to follow his father's footsteps. Also, it's the end of the 19th century and people care less and less about nobility and more about how you actually gained your fortune. Ben would very much enjoy the chance to actually do something with his life, other than find a wife from another rich family, marry and have an heir to the family's fortune. The job, while being mostly pointless since they never actually discover anything other than old books and broken things that belong in museums, at least allows Ben to travel however much he wants, following the next crazy adventure Chewbacca pitches to him. Rey's family fell into destitution when she was very young, so she always felt like she had nowhere where she truly belonged: rich folks give her the wide berth because or her grandfather's terrible reputation, poor people hate her because her grandfather used to be a dick to everyone under his station. So, she's though and rough around the edges, not lady like at all. She kind of decides early in her teenager years to lean into the family's reputation and she learns all she can about mysterious supernatural activities and wiccan rituals, things that make people whisper the word witch before even speaking her name. But such a reputation grants her the chance to fool people into thinking she can actually do magic for a hefty price, and rich people are bored enough to pay for such entertainments, no matter how much they despise giving their money to a Palpatine. Which is also how she gets contacted by Chewbacca. It would be crazy to refuse an all expenses paid trip to a different country, since she never had a chance to travel abroad. She definitely didn't expect to meet Ben Organa-Solo, which, according to the things her grandfather used to say, is a member of the family that is to blame for the family falling into destitution.

I know I’m not popular enough nor write or draw often enough for it to be a concern, but you know, full disclosure, for the record, etc.

This is my promise:

I do not and will not use AI to write, draw, or paint. This applies to both fanworks and original works.

I will never knowingly use AI-created assets in a game or resource.

I will not just change the names or otherwise file the serial numbers off my fanfic in order to publish it for money like it was original.

And yeah, I know the last item is not a big deal to many people and a lot of authors are getting rich publishing their fics under new names. But that feels squicky to me. Like cheating, like you’re plagiarizing yourself, like you’re making money off someone’s IP and then lying about it.

You can do what you like; I’m not the fun police. And yeah, that third promise is probably pretty rich coming from a Daomu Biji fan, I know, I know about the Candle in the Tomb fic rumor, I have come to terms with it, maybe. But me, personally? I won’t Ctrl+H my fanfics and pretend they’re new stories to publish. If I ever do finish and publish something, it’ll be new and all my own fault. Promise.

Just wanted to say I'm really amazed by the continued creativity and talent of the Reylo fandom - it has been almost three years since The Rise of Skywalker, and I love that there's still so much new art, fic and discussion to take in on the daily.

Reylo is easily the best fandom I've ever been part of, and I'm really grateful to be part of such a passionate and inventive community. You guys are awesome!

There’s a lot I don’t like about twitter, but what I do like is that it’s set my husband up with an algorithm that heavily features both reylo and Adam driver. He’s yelling to me from the other room tonight, “I’m sending you posts!” And it’s all clips from the Adam driver SNL promos. 😆 I also get reylo gif tweets from him almost on the daily now. While scrolling in the bird app, I find out from Bethany Baptiste's twitter account (not giving Melon Husk the satisfaction) that notorious reviewbomber and well-known two-faced person Cait Corrain has been interviewed by The Daily Beast.

For some reason, The Daily Beast thought giving her a platform to give out her (unbelievable) excuses for reviewbombing is a good idea. What many are seeing and reading: they're giving her leeway to broadcast her gaslighting and lies and excuses to everyone else.

Yeah--not a racist rampage, but you somehow managed to target POC authors. Mmmhmmm... and then when you were getting the heat, you invented Lilly, the supposed Reylo who created those accounts on Goodreads. Effectively throwing a fandom under the bus, rather stupidly considering how close-knit Reylos are.

Also, did Cait deliberately choose this as the userpic for "Lilly"?

Yeah, so she's trying to spin herself as an ambassador for disabled people and mental health. Keep in mind that Bethany Baptiste--the person I mentioned at the beginning of this post--is one of Cait's Goodreads victims, is POC, and also disabled.

However--autism and mental health do not result in people doing what she has done. And she has said hardly anything in this article about being sorry for what she has done. All she did was to blame it on her autism, mental health and the medications she was prescribed, when there are dozens of people who have interacted with her who say otherwise: that if you are not worth anything to her, she will not treat you well.

Hell, there were folks who took screenshots from her own Twitter feed that did not age well.

Yeah, I don't think she did anything about that.

Fandom: Star Wars Sequels Ship: Rey/Kylo Ren AUs/Tropes: Spy AU, Undercover fic Prompt: Rey is a spy undercover. She was supposed to find a mob boss hidden treasury, but she fell in love with the right hand man of the Boss instead.

Extra details: Just imagine this young Rey, specialized in tech thing; she's going undercover for the first time, but they all think it's gonna be a quick thing and there are other people undercover in this particular mob already (maybe Poe? Maybe Finn is their informer?).

But things go sideways and Rey improvisation skills prevent her from being found out. Still, she is now kind of in the thick of this whole operation and she can't really just disappear.

After all they still need the info for the case, right? And, like they said, there are other people covering her back if it all goes to shit.

And in the spirit of things not going as planned, the right hand man fo the Boss, known as Kylo Ren, is either super suspicious or very much obsessed with her with all of the times he approaches her to talk and ask her to have a drink together.

And it's not like she doesn't have eyes to see that he is an attractive man. But you know, also a criminal that is known to be a killer as well.

Still, him being so interest in her is a double edged swords: while is more likely to be discovered, this gets her a chance to seduce him enough to trust her and lower his defenses.

And with his position, it's more likely than not that being close to him will also mean getting another chance to extract the information she went undercover for in the first place.

Even more unexpected, she ends up falling in love with him as well...

It's been a while since I've done any kind of recs list post, so I thought I'd have a go at this. Instead of trying to pick just 10 fics as my favourites (Difficulty level: Impossible!), I decided to base it on which fics seem most overlooked, so I chose fics from my bookmarks that had under 500 kudos
