Overwhelmed by the scope of the task that is replacing my historical wardrobe and fabric stash. Just in terms of both cost, and how limited the availability of silk and wool at my local fabric stores has become even compared to when I made some of the gowns I lost, and bought some of the fabric

I still had some more of that Garnet colored silk that I made a ball gown out of for my birthday #I was going to make a day bodice to go with the skirt #I had some beautiful sage green ribbed cotton that I had started a skirt out of and was going to make a matching bodice for that too #Plus they don’t make the olive green silk chiffon I used for the overlay on one of my Regency ballgowns #anymore #and even the things I can rebuy are so expensive… It’s just making me feel rather despairing at the moment #(I don’t do plastic fabrics because I sweat too much in them)

finished my first colorwork sweater!!!!

( @trashpandacraft was right it probably could do with one more blocking sesh but tbh it's Good Enough and I was excited to wear it and also my blocking set up is in the most inconvenient place possible so.)

#wow I thought the colorwork part took a long time.... #i had to undo the the neckline for the front and back because the armseye wasn't deep enough #and then I made up the sleeves as i went because they didnt match the pattern anymore #but I also messed up the sizing (got my inches and centimeters mixed up lol) #but that just gave me a cropped sweater which i like so i didnt go bacl to fix that #and even tho i went down a needle size the stitches came out a touch loose and the fabric where there is no #colorwork is quite mesh like #so i have to wear a cami under when im at work but i do that with all my pullovers regardless of fabric so thats no biggie. #but the pros now. #the linen and silk are so comfy for my bad body heat managment ass #i will be wearing this sweater in the summer. (atleast at work) #the sizing is perfect in spite of The Problems #i feel much better about having to undo so much of it (neckline and half of one sleeve as well as restart the ribbing 3 times #the v neck is cute. ive been on that turtleneck grind for a while now i forgot how nice v necks look on me #knitting #yarn #sweater #handmade #handknit #handknitting #hand knitting

i impulse bought some pretty color changing yarn to mindlessly knit a basic striped scarf while watching stuff on thursday which was also the exact day i got sick and spent the better part of a week napping eating soup and watching tv so now my scarf is done which is nice but also i thought it would last me longer :[

details I've done since last night:

added the collar (tacked it down with some invisible stitches to lay flat)

painted on details (lines on bottom hem, collar, and cuffs)

hot glued on buttons and glued on mock pockets

the only clothing piece left to make is her shirt, which is incredibly boring so I won't be posting about it

kind of an odder question, but what is gabe’s striped bodysuit made of? ive always thought his og bodysuit is leather or something similar, and the white/gold one when he falls is some stiffer fabric, or maybe something quilted like a gambeson ^_^

i originally wanted to basically give him a ribbed, sweater-like bodysuit when i first designed the outfit as it was initially just a cold weather look for him. but!! once i began to conceptualize it as a fallen design and therefore more of a permanent style for him, i definitely thought of it as a warm, somewhat padded material that both insulates him and serves as a part of his armor. in fact i've thought about changing it to a quilted pattern and though i didn't have the name for it, i think you're pretty close with a gambeson! really what's most important about it is that it provides warmth, i just thought keeping it as a sweater might make it a little too "cozy" feeling for a fallen angel lol

Hey y’all! Do you have any recommendations for brands of vitamin B12 supplements?  My doctor’s been trying to figure out why I keep having bad muscle spasms and cramps, and a blood test finally showed something as being not normal! Well. Sort of. I’m apparently still in the normal range for B12, but low enough that it could be causing problems? So it’s supplements time, but she didn’t even give me a dosage. I know vitamins can vary wildly in quality and I remember that like third party companies that examine them exist but idk what seals or labels or endorsements I should be looking for

#the person behind the yarn #medical mention #blood mention #apparently when a muscle spasm knocks you off your feet at the top of a flight of stairs #doctors start taking you seriously about the whole hey! something is wrong here! thing #I did not fall down the stairs but it was close #and then a week later a muscle spasm knocked me over when I had a rotary cutter in my hand #luckily rotary cutters' safety button things are extremely easy to hit and I did not get hurt #but like I would like to stop having extremely painful muscle cramps that buckle my leg out from under me #my rotary cutter and my fabric scissors are both extremely sharp and I don't want to go back to have to use them sitting on the floor #which I used to have to do before my blood pressure issue was (kind of) fixed #it's also just an incredibly bizarre feeling to be standing upright and have a muscle in your side abruptly decide #your hip is going UP! Right now!!! it must attempt to meet your rib cage!!! #like the leg cramps and spasms I am more used to and can usually compensate for at least a little #but that spasm pulled my hip up so strongly on one side my foot was off the floor
