9 Anti LO Asks

1. Alright I get exaggeration in drawing characters and maybe I just noticed but Hades ears look huge in the latest chapters????? I draw myself but it’s so noticeable and huge it looks terrible. Also the shade of red of Persephones eyes looks terrible, she should have done like a pale red or just not do “red eyes for coolness” it just looks terrible and doesn’t add anything to Persephone design at the end of the day

2. Like I still do enjoy bits and pieces of LO, I’m interested to know how it’s gonna end, but Im just constantly disappointed in the writing now 

3. I’m the latest non fast pass chapter I still can’t take Persphone seriously. Idk if it’s the writing or whatever but RS just puts certain plot points at a halt. The last cliff hanger “am I a fertility goddess” and in the next chapter We don’t get answers we’re looking for might as well of not made that a cliff hanger if Demeter want going to give us much. Persphone asking if a fertility goddess means there’s a “few extra carrots” was the dumbest line. Was she being sarcastic? I can’t tell because the fascial expressions are often drawn a little weird. If Persphone is the “straight A” smart student she is, I would think she’d have more critical thinkng skills of why Demeter is hiding the fertility goddess status. Idk I think if RS is gonna write cliff hangers like that she should make sure those questions get answered not dodged or else Dont hype that scene up

4. Oook I have a wicked dumb theory that’s either far from happening or ACTUALLY happening. So remember in that one episode where RS left open another can of worms in ep. 148 at the very end where Kronos was a whole ass skeleton just saying “well well well”. I think that Persephone’s gonna turn giant again and maybe try to fight Kronos if he escapes and she might be all like “YoU cAnT hUrT hIm AnYmOrE!!” And judging by the art style, it’s gonna look goofy as hell and it’s gonna be another “yasaas queen gettem!!!” Moment. I can’t with this goofy ass comic Dx

5. lmao you guys werent kidding about the pom pin, it looks so out of place and passed on. its literally a circle with some spikes on top, how is that so hard to draw a few times over? my god rachel is lazy and overworking her poor team. then again their names arent on it, so why would they care if its bad? let rachel take the fall for it.

6. its not even an ancient greece thing but rather basic history that the rich and powerful did not wear white, their MO was always to show off they had money to afford fancy threads and dyes, so they'd always want colors and elaborate designs instead of undecorated white. maybe shes trying to base it off marble statues, but its well known by now that even those were brightly painted and colonizers from england actually whitewashed them for an aesthetic, so idk where her research is in any of this.

7. idk man maybe its just me but youd think a series that is trying to force a glamorous idea would actually put in the effort for the clothes to look nice, but instead theyre all just boring flat cloth and thats it. no pattens, no accessories, not even interesting cuts or folds or even different colors instead of "white" (its just pink or grey) or black. even in the beginning it tried to make up for it with sparkles to give the illusion of shine, but now it doesnt even bother with that.

8. White didn't even become a thing for brides until Queen Victoria was married in 1840, thousands of years after the timeframe of LO, so why would they have that symbolism in Persephone? More so, as other anon pointed out, Greek weddings especially loved yellow and reds for brides, so why would she be in plain white? Then again the gods of LO somehow have Versailles and 1980s American fashion before either country existed, so RS doesn't care to be accurate in mythology or basic history it seems.

9. Very true on the FP stuff. I think comedic use of a person being a bit jealous of their partners closeness to another can usually be done fine when it’s used not too seriously and the topic is moved on from quickly., but hades instead is just so mean and cruel to hermes for what, having an actual chemistry and friendship with persephone that wasn’t forced on by others and with her dependent on him? esp Bc we know how violently possessive hades is of her for no reason, so what could have been playful jealousy under a better writer is instead him being an asshole about it. persephone being jealous over hera was not done well but it at least made a little sense in the context (doesn’t make it good context) and she didn’t lash out at the people in question, but hades just looks like he’s legit angry persephone has a life and relationships outside of him. i think Rachel was going for “romantically possessive” (which isn’t romantic but go off) but instead he just looks like a creep.

I definitely also was like "???" over the jurisdiction when the US government apparently had unilateral control over endangered animals living in Costa Rica (even though/especially bc the dinos are privately owned animals... like, it reminded me of that horrific but fascinating private zoo massacre in Ohio a few years ago. Even though the animals were privately owned, the danger they posed was to a local population and there WAS no way to have the private owner act bc hewas dead, so like, yes, it falls to the municipality to deal with the animals but like... killing All The Animals cannot possibly be the best option... even though they're dangerous... but also in JW's case the local governing body with control should have defaulted to Costa Rica?? Shouldn't it??? Like, the Jonestown deaths were handled by Guyana even though Jonestown was specifically positioned as a United States protectorate on the Guyanese border with only US citizens

 look tbh i’m still BLOWN AWAY by the fact that the government of Costa Rica let them build that park -- not once, but in fact, TWICE, meaning once after EVERYTHING GOT FUCKED. Like Jonestown there was the whole thing of Guyana wanting the Jonestown people there as an American Buffer to keep Venezuela from invading (iirc? I know there was some weird political thing going on beyond Jim Jones’ admittedly great ability to talk people into stuff) but DINOSAURS. DINOSAUR PARK. THE BITEY KIND OF DINOSAURS. DO NOT WANT.

Like I’ll give them the first time, maybe they were all just having a laugh about these dumb English/Americans who wanted to lease out a private island because lol oh yeah suuuuure you have technology to make dinosaurssss, seems legit and then once they did it it was like ‘oh fuck we can’t kick them out w/o the US government coming down on us for some fucking reason’ (the reason being lobbyists from InGen presumably?). But TWICE? After seeing the mess they made and having at least some momentum to be like ‘NO!!! NOT FUCKING AGAIN!!!’, lobbyists etc be damned because by then they had good evidence of what a bad idea it was. Like I know they had to figure out some work around bc or else there’d be no movie but come on.

Based on how private islands tend to work, the Costa Rican gov’t (if they are in fact the territorial owners of the islands -- I know it’s off the the coast but I genuinely don’t recall if the islands were PART of Costa Rica?) would have authority for criminal acts; there ARE some federal statutes about criminal prosecutions of acts between two American citizens that happen abroad, but it’s complicated and again, probably would take more than three years to resolve. And if Costa Rica was going to charge Claire with something (I keep saying Claire bc she was the one who didn’t evacuate everyone right away and also, there’s no one else left) she could just go to the US and....hope the US didn’t decide to extradite her. Could go either way but would make the fact that she GOES BACK TO ISLAND in JWII esp baffling.

You could technically also sue in Costa Rica but you’d probably have better luck suing in the US -- when I was looking into this previously (right after Jurassic World lmfao) I figured cruise ship law would be the most comparable and as long as whatever corporate entity currently owns the park still has some kind of foothold (and more importantly, $$$$) in the US (or England, presumably, tho I don’t know their tort law as well) you’d have jurisdiction at least (bc they advertised in the US and most of the class members were from the US). It’s interesting here bc it’s implied that the tickets to JW were very expensive, so it was super rich people to begin with, and super rich people can hire really good lawyers to be esp strident about this stuff -- I mean I have no doubt whoever’s the current JW property owner would have settled with no trial and for a massive amount of money, so idk if it was really $8 million (for everyone???? HOW??) the tickets to the park must have had some EXCELLENT liability/damages caps. Whatever firm wrote that def earned there $1000/hour.

As to the US gov’t having some sort of authority to deal with the dinos -- I honestly assume the Costa Rican government has literally been begging them, since the first JP if not after JW, to deal with the issue, because they don’t have nearly the military resources to kill everything or contain the island otherwise. So if the US had the impulse to Do Something About It (lol), due to political pressure or w/e, they probably could be like “ok ok dudes, we’ll handle this after all” and Costa Rica would be left going “um???? the volcanoes going to just deal with it? nvm???” but the US could just be like “.....anyway.” and do w/e they wanted bc that’s how it be.

hunter dickens. the troublesome son of a small town mayor who can charm the pants off (literally pants off) anyone but is a dick. his mom wants him to settle down and marry a good girl but he'd rather not. he works for his dad's office as an advisor, but who knows what he's advising.  his dad's planning on running for senator soon. kinda dumb, but mostly lovable.

jake ender. an army vet. he spent years of his life giving his all for his country, and now he's an amputee. he was grumpy and gruff before the war and he's the same after. he's a small town southern guy with simple needs. he's fiercely protective over his sister, caroline. all he wants to do his go to work as a handy man, come home, have a drink and forget the world.

mirielle "miri or ellie" ellis. she moved from her small town to move a few towns over for a fresh start and opened up a wedding dress boutique. it's a very trendy place. also is a tailor for dresses. scatterbrained. loud. feisty. strong opinions. loves fresh flowers, heels, pearls and dressing up. looks pristine most days, but can get down and dirty when she works or drinks men under the table. emotional, but hides it.

cliff robinson. cliff is a snarky, sometimes lovable but mostly frustrating, dry type of funny. he's a tv writer. mostly does comedy stuff but has dabbled in writing some drama stuff. a little awkward. man of a few words unless he's talking about something he loves or is passionate about. tbh cliff is lk inspired by adam scott himself. and kinda a combo of every character ive ever seen him in. just a lovable but mostly not lovable and just frustrating dork.

desmond “desi” taylor. t.v. journalist. gets a thrill out of being in war zones or traveling to parts of the world no one ever goes to. care free. lovable. adored. but a playboy and a hot mess. loves taking pictures. sadly, after all of his accomplishments his super accomplished parents are still not impressed which causes some emotional strain in him.

brad miller. he literally had it all... perfect family, beautiful girlfriend, football scholarship to set him up for LIFE. he could have gone pro. he was the all american good guy next door. until one HORRIBLE night his gf was brutally murdered. oh and guess what: she was pregnant. every one blamed it on brad and as a result he went to prison. but he LOVED THIS GIRL. so much it hurts. still does. from 18-30 he was in wrongfully imprisoned until someone proved him innocent. his gf's murderer is still out there. every one in his tiny town still thinks he's guilty. can't hold a job down. moody. sometimes drinks a little too much. isn't the good ole boy he used to be. lowkey has ptsd. has "odd" rituals but it's just bc he still has his routines from prison.

loreali davis. even though she comes from a rich family, she got in to college completely on scholarships. she's an excellent dancer. she focuses mostly on ballet. the only time she doesn't have her curls messy is when she has it in a tight ballerina bun. very monotone. some people call her names behind her back bc she isn't expressive or sociable, but really she isn't at all. she just prefers to stay to herself.

jennifer "jenny" silva. a lot of people find her very annoying because she's very in your face at all times. danced on a dance team for two years before she dropped out. she works in a high end lingerie store during the day time and at night she's a burlesque star. cue "but i'm a good girl" from xtina. lives off of bagels and lox from her local deli. loves new york. knows she's the shit and it gets her in trouble.

evangeline palmer. the youngest of the three palmer sisters. where bianca is cultured and travels everywhere, cordelia handles the estate and is the figure head for the family, evangeline is the wild one. she goes on extravagant shopping sprees, has lovers in every continent and frequents cheesy tabloid covers. she's a bit of a hothead and can go from 0 to 100. loud---- both the clothes she wears and her voice. b and cordelia may not agree on much but they agree that evie is a disaster. her crazy is the only one who could rival their mother's own. didn't handle her father's murder very well. she was the only one besides his bodyguards who witnessed it.. some say she's numbing the pain. alexa, pls play chandelier by sia.

cordelia palmer. the younger palmer sister. a little more well adjusted..... at least, in palmer family standards. shes better at making friends, but not by much. isn’t necessarily a bitch but she gets shit done. manages her families money and does a ton of philanthropy work with their family charities.

bianca palmer. grew up being bounced around all over the world bc her dad was a mob's accountant who was sought after by different government agencies. grew up CRAZY rich. still is rich after her father was murdered and left them millions esp with his life insurance. very well versed in different cultures. doesn't really know what she wants to do with her life. is very princess like bc she's always had money. is kind of a dick. kinda pretentious. but it's bc she's never really had friends bc she moved around so much.

A better question is how are African Americans contributing to our own demise as a people? Those who seek to oppress and destroy us realize they can sit back in many cases and watch us do it to ourselves. That is the worse tragedy of all.

Why do you think they allow the crime in Chicago to continue? Because they hope as many of “us” will wipe out as many of “us” as possible. All this country had to do is plant the seeds of suspicion, division, individualism and self-hatred into the African American community, water them then stand back and watch them grow. And for far too many unsuspecting African Americans, that is exactly what has happened.

Many of you like Herman Cain, Steve Harvey, Omarosa, Ben Carson or Jesse Lee Peterson are dumb enough to overtly participate in the degradation and demise of your own kind in exchange for a few extra turkey necks from your master’s table and the pseudo-respect he gives you. But Massah has no real respect for those who turn on their own because he knows they can never really be trusted.

African Americans far too often play into the stereotypes set for us as traps. We promote modern day Babylon type whores on stage like Beyoncé and Nikki Minaj then allow our daughters to emulate them. We commit so much crime against each other that the police and Caucasian people can now follow our examples and use our playbook. We allow the degradation of our women and the emasculation of our men and laugh at it. That includes Tyler Perry, Chris Rock, Martin, Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Chris Tucker, Terry Kruse and the list goes on. Character, morals, spirituality and values should never be for sell or we lose ourselves.

We don’t check our kids homework, participate at their schools or monitor their music and video games. We allow them to be raised by the music, the media and the hellevision while we abdicate our responsibilities as their teachers, disciplinarians and role models. Too many African Americans are either so full of weed or too busy to be real parents. Our role models are athletes, unfaithful comedians, entertainers and talk show hosts. Give me a break.

As a whole, our people pay more attention to Beyonce’s pregnancy or the Super bowl than the election that will impact our health, our finances, our jobs and our safety. We expect the government to do for us what we should be doing for ourselves and we continue to ignore the fact that the government does not care about us. When has it ever been of the people, by the people and for the people – especially our people? Wake up and know than millionaire Hillary does not care about you any more that billionaire Donald Trump does. Your success has always been up to you, your family, your support system and your God – not the pastor, not the President and not your employer. The African American community wants to scapegoat the blame for our problems on everyone else when our people are often at least partially to blame. The rest of the blame should be placed on the judicial system, the racist agendas of this country, the politicians at every level, the corporate greed, the bad police officers and departments and district attorneys who lack balance, focus and fairness, to name a few.

If you want to argue with me or flex your intellect, stop reading now!

Sadly, African Americans (not all but most) only work together when it furthers personal agendas, when we can profit from it or when we can take credit for it. And even then we half step and make excuses for accountability Umar Johnson. We think marches and rallies will fix things but what are they fixing today? Those who oppress our people have learned how to neutralize our approaches of the past but our civil rights leaders keep using the same old methods anyway. What is being accomplished?

Many of our so called leaders (esp radio personalities like Rashad Richey) are opportunists, using our suffering to make a name for themselves in the media. And far too many of our churches are filled with homosexual pastors who lives contradict the Bible they preach from, pedophiles and materialistic pulpit pimps with their own agendas. We make excuses for them and drink the Kool-Aid gallons at a time. You want names? Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Juanita Bynum, T.D. Jakes, Dale Bronner and Carlton Pearson, to name a few. You buy their books, attend their conferences and hear their sermons while they get rich from selling you the very hope and knowledge that was available for free in your Bible all along. Wake up! Don’t be so gullible.

Then there is the issue of COLOR. It is ironic that we so readily accept “Black History Month” when our color has never been black. Look at your hand and overstand that it is powerful brainwashing to get you to deny what your eyes see. It is powerful indoctrination to get you to call yourself something you are not, something that others defined you to be and a label that has negatives like dismal, gloomy, evil and devoid of moral character. All you have to do is look up “black” in the Oxford, Webster’s or Merriam Webster’s dictionary and see for yourself. Perception creates reality for most people even more that the truth does. And how you are perceived determines how you are treated (Hint: Police Brutality). Yet some of you will still argue against what you just read and dispute what your own eyes see because you do not realized you have been brainwashed.
