taking a break from my breakdown to say how traumatizing it must be for dean to have the man he loves die not just as he confesses his love but BECAUSE he confessed his love.... this is man who, after everything, STILL doesn't believe that he deserves to be saved.... self esteem issues through the floor.... watching cas sacrifice himself for him once again is already difficult enough as it is, but this might quite literally may be dean's worst fear realized: knowing that someone he loves is dead specifically BECAUSE they loved him
