I just heard about the Kouri Richins case and I wanna personally beat her ass southern-style! Imagine being completely stupid and dense enough to write a children's book on bereavement after you murder the father of your three kids and making money off sales and TV appearances. I hope that all that the bitch experiences for the rest of her life is pain, misery, and resentment from everyone she ever knew and loved. What a piss-poor excuse for a mother and a wife! Now those poor babies are basically orphaned thanks to the mother of the year™ killing their daddy with fentanyl. 🤬🤬🤬

A Utah woman who authorities say fatally poisoned her husband in 2022, then published a children's book about grief, now faces another attempted murder charge for allegedly drugging him weeks earlier, on Valentine's Day.
Kouri Richins, 33, is accused of killing her husband with a lethal dose of fentanyl at their home in a small mountain town near Park City in March 2022. New charging documents filed Monday by Summit County prosecutors allege that it wasn't her first attempt on his life.
They detail the perilous months preceding Eric Richins' death, painting a picture of a paranoid man walking on eggshells around his wife as she made secret financial arrangements and bought illicit drugs that were later found in his system.
Prosecutors have said previously that Kouri Richins, who is being held without bail, may have tried to poison her husband the month before his death, but they didn't file the additional charges until this week.
The chilling case of a once-beloved author accused of profiting off her own violent crime has captivated true-crime enthusiasts in the year since she was arrested for her husband's murder. She had self-published "Are You With Me?" — an illustrated storybook about a father with angel wings watching over his young son after dying.
Once lauded as a heartwarming must-read for any child who's lost a loved one, the book has since become a powerful tool for prosecutors arguing that Kouri Richins carried out a calculated murder plot and attempted to cover it up.
The mother of three repeatedly called her husband's death unexpected while promoting her book and was commended by many for helping her sons and other young children process the death of a parent.
Her attorney, Skye Lazaro, didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the new charges. Lazaro has argued in early hearings that the evidence against her client was dubious and circumstantial.
Details on possible prior murder try
One bite of his favorite sandwich — left with a note in the front seat of his truck on Valentine's Day — made Eric Richins, 39, break out in hives and black out, prosecutors allege in the new documents.
His wife had bought the sandwich from a local diner in the city of Kamas the same week she also purchased several dozen fentanyl pills, according to witness statements and deleted text messages that were recovered by police.
The state's star witness, a housekeeper who claims to have sold her the drugs, told law enforcement that she gave Kouri Richins the pills a couple days before Valentine's Day. Later that month, Richins allegedly told the housekeeper that the pills she provided weren't strong enough and asked her to procure stronger fentanyl, according to the new charging documents.
In witness testimony, two friends of Eric Richins recount phone conversations from the day prosecutors are now saying he was first poisoned by his wife of nine years. After injecting himself with his son's EpiPen and chugging a bottle of Benadryl, he woke from deep sleep and and told a friend, "I think my wife tried to poison me."
His friends say they noticed fear in his voice as Richins, who had no known allergies, told them that he felt like he was going to die and that his wife might be to blame. Opioids, including fentanyl, can cause severe allergic reactions, including hives.
Details on Eric Richins' death
A month later, Kouri Richins called 911 in the middle of the night to report that she had found her husband "cold to the touch" at the foot of their bed, according to the police report. He was pronounced dead, and a medical examiner later found five times the lethal dosage of fentanyl in his system.
"One or two pills might be accidental. Twenty — or five times the lethal dose — is not accidental. That is someone who wants Eric dead," Summit County Chief Prosecutor Patricia Cassell said.
She alleges that Richins slipped the synthetic opioid into a Moscow mule cocktail she made for her husband amid marital disputes and fights over a multimillion-dollar mansion she purchased as an investment.
Eric Richins' family believes Kouri Richins spiked his drink the night he died, according to "48 Hours."
Possible motive?
Years before her husband's death, Kouri Richins opened numerous life insurance policies on Eric Richins without his knowledge, with benefits totaling nearly $2 million, prosecutors allege.
Kouri Richins was also charged Monday with mortgage fraud and insurance fraud for allegedly forging loan applications and fraudulently claiming insurance benefits after his death.
Prosecutors argue she was in financial distress when her husband died and say she mistakenly believed she would inherit his estate under terms of their prenuptial agreement. Newly released documents indicated she had a negative bank account balance, owed lenders more than $1.8 million and was being sued by a creditor.
Charging documents indicate Eric Richins met with a divorce attorney and an estate planner in October 2020, a month after he discovered that his wife made some major financial decisions without his knowledge. The couple's prenuptial agreement only allowed Kouri Richins to profit off her husband's successful stone masonry business if he died while they were still married.
Utah law prohibits anyone convicted of murder from profiting financially off their crime.
Maternal murder accomplice?
The case took another turn when a newly released court affidavit revealed last week that investigators believe Kouri Richins' mother might also have been involved in his death.
A Summit County Sheriff's investigator wrote in the affidavit it is "possible" that Lisa Darden was "involved in planning and orchestrating" Eric Richins' death.
Investigators discovered Darden had been living with a female romantic partner who died suddenly in 2006. An autopsy determined the woman died of an overdose of oxycodone, the affidavit said. The woman struggled with drug abuse, but at the time of her death she wasn't in recovery, which the investigator said would "likely rule out the possibility of an accidental overdose." Darden had become the recipient of the partner's estate shortly before her death, the affidavit said.
The affidavit also said conversations "have been found on Kouri's phone showing disdain for Eric on Lisa's part."
"Based on Lisa Darden's proximity to her partner's suspicious overdose death, and her relationship with Kouri, it is possible she was involved in planning and orchestrating Eric's death," the affidavit states.
No charges have been filed against Lisa Darden.

Week in Review of Week of 10/30
This week I’ve been a little busy with some things so I didn’t get around to these stories: Did you know LL Cool J re-recorded Mama’s Said Knock You Out? Well he did and it’s worth a listen. New foundation was named in honor of Matthew Perry named the Matthew Perry Foundation. It’s for people who are struggling with substance abuse like he was during his life. My thoughts on Yuri On Ice and where it went
So I’ve been wanting to properly articulate what I feel is off about the Iceado production and how abnormal it is, what I think could be happening and my reasoning. So far I’ve only posted about these feelings on asks, replies and discord but I want to expand on them in writing. This is kinda long so I apologize in advance. Feel free to send me asks or reply to this post with your opinion.
First of all. Anime is a product and a property, and as such, it is usually milked until it no longer produces enough money to be profitable for the studio.
Yuri on ice was a total best seller, It trended #1 every Wednesday on both Tumblr and twitter. Episode 7 crashed Tumblr. They have a huge international audience, which is something that is so valuable.
The first 2 years after YOI ended we had had all sorts of events. Collaborations, pop ups, the live stage, all sorts of merchandise etc..
Please. just read this bit on the popularity and success of YOI  ( X )
with that in mind,
what in the hell happened?
Here’s the two train of thoughts I see a lot in asks/replies:
It’s a “focusing on other bigger projects” kind of issue
It’s an LGBTQ censoring issue
Here’s why I think it’s neither of those two:
focusing on other bigger projects is the most popular theory and the one that honestly makes more sense. yoi being put on pause to produce the money cows JJK, AOT, CSM, and Vinland saga. It makes sense except for the fact that they still found the time to animate 12 episodes of a relatively obscure Ballet manga, Dance Dance Danseur. which already finished airing and despite being a MAPPA property, it wasn’t very popular online. Why take the chance to order 12 episodes from DDD and not Yuri on ice? which if you read the link I placed earlier had impressive statistics. This exact fact leads me to believe it's not a time or focus issue.
If LGBTQ censoring was the issue, we wouldn't have BL animes coming out every year, and since Yuri on ice came out we’ve had quite a bit of BL animes and movies, for example: Given, the clouds gather, Given the movie, Sasaki to miyano, Umibe no étranger, Yes Ka No Hanbun Ka, sankaku mado, and a bunch more including live actions.
and you might say “but yoi is not tagged BL so it could be censored” well, just a year after Yuri on ice aired Banana fish, a Mappa property, had a full on screen kiss between the main two characters. and that wasn’t tagged BL either. Y*richin B*tch cl*b got an anime adaptation and it doesn’t get more explicit than that so no. While I’m not claiming censoring doesn’t exist in anime, the laws aren’t a strict regime as some people make it seem. Implying the whole project got scrapped because of the main gay relationship is beyond unlikely. I don't think anyone could possibly deny that Yuri and Victor’s relationship was by far the biggest selling point of yuri on ice; the audience  knows it, the creators know it, the producers know it.
So what is it?
I present my leading theory... simple yet I find it quite likely...
Creative differences and doubts about where to take the story.
what do Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on titan, Chainsaw man, Dance Dance Danseur,  Vinland saga, and hell’s paradise have in common?
they’re all manga adaptations.
Yuri on ice is an original story through and through. Thought up by the wonderful minds of Kubo Mitsuro and Sayo Yamamoto. Yuri on ice has been both the last anime they’ve worked on so far since 2016.
The thing about Yuri on ice is that the story, by virtue of being so original in it’s plot and setting, deviated heavily from the usual money-making structure of your average sports anime.
The characters were not teenagers in high school
A major plot point is that both of the main characters are nearing the end of their careers.
the story wraps and by the 12 episode mark you’ve already been to a bunch of competitions that in other sports anime would’ve taken seasons. EX: Kuroko no basket, haikyuu, slam dunk
Most important character arcs are resolved.
Main conflict in the series is resolved. Victor and Yuri get together.
The truth is, Yuri on ice is a series that really wraps up neatly. where can you go from there? go through competitions all over again until Yuri wins gold? when we’ve already stablished that Victor loves Yuri for who he is and will stay no matter what? what would be the point of that? Have Viktor keep being a playboy celebrity when already his search for live & love was resolved?
There is a danger of falling into the same story beats and a season 2 would have to be carefully constructed. Where do you take this franchise?
I used to not understand why they opted for a prequel movie instead of a season 2. Now that I look at this decision from a different perspective and while I do not personally agree with it, I can totally understand it.
Going forward with this original series is difficult, and I can tell the writers Sayo & Kubo care a great deal for their creation. The way YOI is so carefully structured shows that so much thought and care went into it. seriously, have you ever thought about how much detail, narrative, interaction, and character arcs YOI manages to have in just 12 episodes? it’s quite impressive. this is a project that they had no idea would get green lit for a second season and they knew the studio was taking a chance on them with this original series so they were incredibly concise as to have it end as neatly as possible.
but that “see you next level” was a promise to an eager fandom.
Back to why I think creative differences and testing the waters as to where to take the story is what’s happening:
In January 2019 an Ice Adolescence teaser was shown in Japan only, in complete exclusiveness. the people who saw it weren’t allowed to record it so they talked about it in great detail on twitter. For more than a year, this very same teaser was kept from the international audience until it dropped on YouTube on November 2020. According to the people who saw it in the exclusive screening nothing had been changed or added, it was the very same.  So why the long wait? It’s like there is an uncertainty as to where to take the project and if it should continue in the same direction. “Let’s give it a year and see if we’re still on track with the current story”
To be honest, there have been many times where I’ve genuinely believed the project has been dropped. I know there are franchises that take longer to produce, look at Evangelion’s last movie, it took like 9 years to be made. As I was reading on the story of EVA 3.0 + 1.0 and why it took so long to be made when Eva is a well stablished money making franchise, I learned that Hideaki Anno, the creator, developed severe burnout and had to take a break, he was undecided on where to take the story and other people who worked with him in the project left the studio.
Since I am a yoi blog, and I’m always scanning the tag, replies, twitter, reddit, I see that a lot of discussion surrounding Iceado always seems to point to the fact that people believe this is studio meddling. What happened to Hideki and EVA could’ve happened to yoi. That even a huge property like EVA took 10 years because the creator was not comfortable, and did not want to continue just yet points to the weight the creator holds. I believe that if it were up to mappa, given how much money yoi made them, we would've had yuri on ice season 3 by now. But no, this is ultimately Sayo and Kubo’s child and I strongly believe that if we do not have something by now, it’s because something is taking place between these two, perhaps burn out, perhaps creative differences, or perhaps they seriously just need lots of time to think this one through. Even though it’s hard sometimes because I love this franchise, I want to trust Kubo and Sayo as I did before. I want to trust they’ll deliver a product that is good, and campy, and fun, and deep and sometimes heartbreaking. I will wait until I can see this through

Kouri Richins: Jailhouse letter reads like a woman who feels above the law
So, I've been followingthe Kouri Richins case and writing about it over on Medium. But can we specifically discuss the "Walk the Dog" letter?
For background, Kouri is a real estate business owner, mother, and now accused murderer. Investigators claim she killed her husband, Eric, with a fentanyl overdose in March 2022. A year later, she wrote and published a children's book about grief. The irony.
Now, from prison, she's accused of penning a six-page letter addressed to her mother in which she appears to direct her mother and brother as to the story they're going to use for her defense, claiming that Eric used drugs and drank throughout their marriage, despite the fact his family says otherwise. He said, she said, as usual.
Law & Crime posted the letter in its entirety. While reading it, I couldn't help but marvel at how self-absorbed and almost narcissistic the letter is. It doesn't read like a woman who is grieving her husband, but rather like a woman trying to cover her tracks in a way that would inevitably be discovered. She mentions her children maybe once, b ut only as a source of ego - that whatever Eric's sisters did, she "could do better" and that they were insanely jealous of her for it. That she built her real estate business while being a stay-at-home mom.
The Daily Mail also reflected on an interview with Kouri's mother before the letter was public, during which she relayed the narrative outlined in the letter as if perfectly rehearsed.
On the same token, one of Kouri's friends mentioned how Kouri allegedly felt like an "outsider" in Eric's affluent world and how she came from nothing. Yet based on the letter, it seems Kouri was happy to brag about everything Eric's wealth brought her. God knows she wouldn't have been able to build a successful real estate business within a few years on the housekeeper's salary she claimed she lived on in college. (And I can vouch for this, as someone who also cleans for a living and barely gets by on said salary.) Clearly she had no idea how to manage that much money - she was allegedly millions of dollars in debt that ironically Eric's life insurance could help dig her out of.
To the public, she played the grieiving widow card and revelled in the sympathy and attention. Now, she's trying so hard to backtrack and it's becoming evident that, like many female killers, she thinks she's much more clever than the system and everyone around her. She lives in an illusion and will carry that to the bitter end, at the expense of her kids and with no remorse to how it impacts them.
These are just my thoughts as I am writing up this article. Watching the trial play out in this case will be really interesting, and tragic - it saddens me that all Kouri is worried about is herself, while her kids have been robbed of their dad, and his family is still grieving. Betraying the outside world is one thing, but betraying your own kids like this is another level of cruelty.

A Utah mother of three celebrated for a children's book she wrote about grief after the death of her husband died now stands accused of murdering him. Kouri Richins, 33, was arrested Monday in Utah in the 2022 death of her husband.
Richins told authorities in March of last year that she found her 39-year-old husband, Eric, "cold to the touch" on the floor in their bedroom in their Kamas home. officials said. Following Eric’s death, the newly-widowed mom posted a tribute video to her husband on Facebook.
"Life is just so damn hard without you here," she wrote.
She also published a book teaching kids how to deal with grief called, “Are You With Me?” It features an image of her smiling husband in the clouds with angel wings and a halo. The book dedicated to "my amazing husband and a wonderful father."
But on Monday, Richins was charged with aggravated murder in the death of her husband.
Richins is accused in charging documents obtained by Inside Edition of poisoning her husband with a lethal dose of fentanyl at their home. Authorities say they found five times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his body.
